Egbon Oliseh has many faults but being lily-livered isn't one of them.

Pesin wey fight sports minister when he was a player go come dey fear NFF topshots.

Enyeama was in the national team way before Keshi showed up so how was he Stephen's boy?

Oliseh's main problem is that he lacks diplomacy skills when situation demands it.

This doesn't invalidate whether he had issues with Keshi or not.
Keshi got powerful Alex Akinyele out as sport minister and Ishaya Marku made sure Oliseh was retired from eagles and even disbanded the team. This is one of the reason I called Oliseh a lily livered personality.

Another reason, trying to send some old players showed that he lacked the courage and want to control the team like school headmaster

Westerhoff met Keshi in Nigeria team and Keshi was his leading boy,so Keshi met Enyeama in eagles did not stopped Enyeama from being his boy.

Yes Oliseh hate Keshi. He was one of the leading critics of Stephen Keshi. He criticized Keshi in a mannerless way, reason why Keshi snubbed him during CAF awards.

Oliseh had a problem with Enyeama the issue of playing in the North had already been settled.

Oliseh for whatever reason best known to him was questioning Enyeama's commitment even when he should have been wise to manage Vincent based on the fact that he just buried his mum a few months prior to the blowout with Sunday.

Two things can be true simultaneously. As much as some NFF board members wanted Enyeama out Oliseh was the main reason for his exit from the SE.
Oliseh is a lily livered personality but many thought he was courageous? No he wasn’t

He wanted to act like primary school Headmaster in eagles camp and only way out was to freeze some players out to achieve it.

He disliked Stephen Keshi passionately and had the support of Amaju Pinnick who also hate Keshi for no reason. The agenda was to send Keshi’s boys out of the team and Enyeama was the number one target.

In fact,Ahmed Musa was used as a bait to get support from the cabal but guessed what NFF administrators lackadaisical pushed Oliseh out.

Its looking like Awoniyi might miss the AFCON...
According to Forest manager, he could be out for "months"....
Yes he is out.

Health is wealth…he should deal with his injury and come back stronger like last season.

He came to camp hiding the knock and aggravated it….two months out after the surgery.

Akor should take his place.

My perfect sketch of my ideal Eagles team under a new coach at AFCON, it's a rough set up that reflects the players we need going forward.
GKs
Jonathan Rasheed/Arthur Okonkwo/ Stanley Nwabili

Defence

Zaidu
Igoh Ogbu
Omeruo OR Ajayi
Jordan Torunarigha
Gabriel Osho
Aina
Bruno

Midfield:

Kelechi Nwakali
Ifeanyi Matthew/ Michael Folorunsho
Alhassan Yusuf
Ndidi
Iwobi
One U20 player (maybe either of Eletu, Akinsanmiro or Tochukwu Nnadi).

Forwards:

Osimhen
Akor Adams
Gift Orban
Kelechi Iheanacho
Simon Moses
Boniface
Lookman OR Tella (want to see more of him under a REAL coach).

My first XI will come from the players listed above, since CAF expanded the AFCON squad list to 27 so new players will definitely be called up.

Bench:

Chukwueze
Awoniyi
Bassey
Moffi

Players to be dropped unless their club situation changes between now and January as far as playing time goes:

Joe Aribo
Uzoho
Umar Sadiq

27 players in total for the AFCON and a new coach

Cc: TheSuperNerd, How you take see am?
Answer to our goalkeeping crisis is in NPFL,enough of these average keepers.

Rasheed Ayoola is 32years old and if he is truly good he would have been Sweden national team keeper by now….Arthur Okonkwo, well good development but I have my reservations on him based on Maduka Okoye performance…Stanley Nwakili is not better than what we have here.

Nothing new ....South American football is very physical and sometimes violent...I think the more reason they keep having the upper hand over African teams is their combination of skill and physicality gives them an edge most of the time.

So far in the super eagles, Moffi and Awoniyi do not strike me as reliable strikers. They really haven't proven much for me to have that much faith in them to lead the lines in the absence of Osimhen. They really have to sit up with Akor and Durosimi knocking on the door.

Boniface too needs to sit up.
Do not expect anything from Akor,Orban and Durosimi under Peseiro.

Pls remove Osimhen 7 goals against São Tomé then you go no say Peseiro na poo.

Na to Dey put earbuds as if dem Dey vacation.

Respect to super eagles of yesteryears….Oh!Stephen Keshi&co,come and see passions and see players who are ready to die on the field…..I remember Angola vs Nigeria in Luanda which later ended 2-2…Nigeria came from two goals down to level up with goals from Ademola Adeshina and late screamer from Stephen Keshi.

Eagles need real passionate captain to lead the team, against Zimbabwe Boniface was arguing with Iheanacho, very disrespectful from a player with just 5 caps, meaning no discipline.

we can possibly draw or even win Costa Rica but I think we played mexico after that home based drubbing and lost 2-1. The main complaint about this team is that they lack hunger and desire, a trait the local based players supposedly have in abundance. Hunger and desire we have been unable to see in them when given the opportunity.
Yes drubbing by Mexico just like the way Portugal drubbed the main Super eagles..home based and main team lost against Mexico but winning Costa Rica?I doubt
Do you see that hungers in main Super eagle’s team…am not advocating for home base but where we are lacking,if we cannot see it outside better to look inwards, for instance goalkeeping dept.

But if nff failed to do d needful isn’t it necessary dat we remind them of what happens to Keshi for applying to another job when under contractual agreement with nff.

Or are they so daft to realize dat pajero applying for another job when still under contract is a breech of contract. Methinks we need to beam our searchlight on nff
Amaju Pinnick used it to nail Keshi cuz he hate Keshi and want Oliseh badly.

Do not be surprised seeing our main team finding it hard to beat Ghana Chan team.

It's always the easy way out to blame the coach. Truth be told, these set of players will disappoint any coach the federation hires.
Nothing was wrong with Peseiro's lineup over the 2 legs. Most coaches will go for 98% of that same line up if the same set of players were available.
Let's be real, these set of players are the supposed best we have in those top leagues we love so much.
I blame Peseiro for not working on the GK dpt that's all.
Pls what was Peseiro coaching scorecards in the last 10 years before he took over eagles job.

We had this same issue in the last years of Rohr. Recall we went a calender year without a win in 2021. We have changed coaches 3times since and still we can't consistently win matches.
We may choose to ignore this but I'm seriously looking at the players now. I don't see seriousness on their part. It's time to open up the space for the not so big name players to come in and have a stake. The present crop of players are far too comfortable for their own good.
Oga Barry, pls who got the hammer at the end?Rohr…if Peseiro is damn serious with his job he would have done the needful, imagine still keeping faith with Uzoho despite poor performances and inviting Aribo who has not done anything since last season.

My point, coach takes the blame not the players at the ends.

I saw Peseiro play Iwobi in Jorginho styled midfield anchor man. Every man and his dog knows Nwakali is the best guy to play this role. Something he's done all his career. No way on God's green earth is Iwobi better than him in that role.
For me, that's the only criticism I have for the coach. However, regardless personnel, we should beat Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
The players are to blame 98%. They have no justification for not putting chances away. Any Nigerian 11 assembled even if Dr Rafiu Oladipo was the coach should beat these teams.
Just check out Peseiro scorecard as at march 2023.

Fast forward he played additional 6 matches won three against Sierra Leone,São Tomé and Mozambique and drew Saudi Arabia,Lesotho and Zimbabwe, meaning he played 15 matches, won 6,drew 3 and lost 6 as at date.

Like Nigeria like SE. Doing the same thing repeatedly, getting the same result and still continue on it and expecting something different. We have played a 4MF of iwobi. Ndidi. Onyeka. Aribo repeatedly. We have jigged and rejigged the combo. Still nothing came out of it and we stubbonly refuse to introduce another gear to the wheel because in our little brain they are not better than what we already have. Meanwhile what you have is not giving u the desired results. Na here we dey. Even the GK sef. From my own school of thought. If A is not giving me the desired result. I try B, C, D. Imagine Iwobi as a DLP. Person wey no fit give long range passes as a DLP. For all of us to remember. Sunday Mba was played because Keshi has the balls to drop Nosa Igiebor. If he had continued with playing him because he is a pro, perhaps we would not have won the 2013 Afcon. Our MF personnel is imbalanced. Jig it up and jig it down, the personnel we keep inviting is imbalanced. They are good in their individual roles, but together, they don't and cannot complement each other when push comes to shove and our wingers are clipped everything crumbles.
Correct,Sunday Mba and Ogenyi Onazi gave us needed balance to win Afcon 2013 after we struggled with Nosa Igiebor and Fengor Ogude.
