please rohr can start omeruo in any othe rmatch but not against south Africa...

I don't want a repetition of what transpired in oyo some.years back.
I now believe in reverse psychology.

let him watch proceedings from the bench...the he can start other matches.
If that’s the case then Ekong and Awaziem too don’t deserve to face South Africa in any match cos they messed up in Uyo,meaning only Balogun is secured.

Abi what do you think my man

Egbon! Kabiyesi o!! Here's my 10 cents worth.

I think you have a very good idea but we may probably need to tweak it a little bit to make it work effectively. In my humble opinion, the purpose of this committee would be defeated if the wrong people were "nominated". I haven't followed this thread or the nomination process closely but, like everything Nigerian, I am quite sure that merit is being sacrificed in place of mediocrity and nepotism. Yes, by the nomination process we can ensure that it is the power of numbers at work, but then that becomes the democratic formula for mediocrity.

Hence, to make sure that the excellent few are not sacrificed for the many mediocre my recommendation is that we select the following 6 members and charge them to get the job done. To me, this proposed committee is too important for us to reduce it to a popularity contest. Anyway, here's my 6 member committee:

1. Icon4s
2. Joebie
3. TBaba1234
4. Safarigirl
5. Supernerd
6. My humble self (Icon79)

So all of a sudden you believe Idowu is a fantastic player now? Let me make this a little bit easier to understand. Ekong is a good player, Balogun is a fantastic player on his day, waiting for their opportunities are Omeruo(who I personally believe is a better defender them), Awaziem(who despite the hype I do not really think he is better than the first three but he has talent nonetheless) and Ajayi(one of the revelations of the Rotherham season).
Now come over to the right side of the defence and we have Shehu, Ebuehi and Aina, all are solid players on their day. But on the left who do we have? Only one naturally left footed player in Collins who hasn't exactly shown what he is made of against decent opposition, or should we continue to make do with Idowu who has been poor for God knows how long? Like I said, Ikwuowem should have been invited as a legitimate contestant for that LB spot, who says he cannot improve defensively?
The only difference between collins and Ikwuowem even Duru is Europe based and home based.Apart from this nothing more

The worst invitation is that of Ezenwa, the man does not play every week but continues to get invited. Our journalists should ask Rohr tough questions.
I tire o cos Ezenwa invitation lacks merit and not good for our football development.

A third keeper with Enyimba and always getting invitations,no wonder we always result to team B players in Europe.

Oga, we can't compare Giroud with Ighalo. They are worlds apart.

Giroud was largely used as a substitute playing 30 mins or less in most of his first few years with France.

Ighalo for the most part has been a regular.

Their actual minutes on the pitch is not the same .
We are taking this Ighalo issue too far.

I think we should now judged him based on his last performance in GWG.If he messed up again we hammer him and that’s football but for now he is the beast.

Ighalo regular for eagles?yes you are right.

If a black man invites Chidi Nwakali we will cry Egunje, Tribalist, favouritism. If a black man leads us to the kind of poor outing we had at the world cup our mouths will reach our cheeks as we scream for his immediate sack. If a black home loses at home to SA for the first time ever we will protest on the streets for his sack, but here since it is a white man we hear all forms of rubbish and nonsensical reasons, he is building and he has a core so he can't invite another player. He is trying to fix our AMF problems, he is trying to give us a youthful core, load of rubbish. Why didn't anyone think of youthful core when we murdered Oliseh for inviting Igboun? What happened to youthful core when we wanted to kill Sia1 for allegedly calling up his boys? So Keshi was not also trying to fix our DMF issues when he invited Gabriel Reuben? This our defeatist mindset is very very disturbing

Ow Egbon, the list is so long: Dimeji Lawal, Peter Ogaba, Bawa Abdulahi, Christopher Ohenhen, Philip Osondu, Mohammad Manga, Someone like Fatai Atere played U17 twice but still could not make the U20 team. Who could have believed that deadly goal poachers like Victor Igbinoba and Peter Ikechukwu Anosike would fizzle out so early. Igbinoba was at Chile 87 but not as a regular while Anosike could not measure up at all for the U20.

I admire some of these recent U17 players but sorry I have long learnt to lower my expectations. Let me see them do it as professional players first before sticking out my neck.

Reason why I have never bought the idea of even automatic promotion from U17 to U20. Not to talk of promoting them straight to the U23 and Super Eagles. Many of those boys fizzle out after U17.

I have closely followed youth football since 1985 and that has been the trend. Well, some of us here are just beginning to understand this now.

If u keep having hopes on every Young player then they will continue to break your heart.

If you say playing for SE exposed him to d world I go gree. But say it improved him. I no gree. If na so why other players no improve.??
That national team exposure gave us improved Ekong.

On club level as at then Ekong wasn’t better than other CBs but seized his opportunity in SE.

Siasia gave him the chance and Rohr gave him the opportunity after Olympics and he never looked back which is a plus for him.

Pls don't even bring troost into this your pull him down ish. He was already a club captain in Sweden @ 21 or so before he was called up. His S-curve was moving up. He was improving as a player. It wasn't the SE that improved him. If it were to be Oboaboana & Omeruo should be @ Mancity & Chelsea by now. He deserved his call up then cos we were lacking options @ the back at the time.
My Oga Ekong Troost is a good player but national team made him and right from U23 to Super eagles we all saw a vastly improved Ekong.

I can tell you authoritatively that Ekong is having the best of his club career right now not all these Sweden,Belgium or Turkey club careers.

It’s not a sin if national team helps our players in their careers.
