Humility017: you're very right Big Bro... remember the siasia under 20 team of 2005 enjoyed a steady progression. shortly after that tourney....majority of them were infused into the Austin Eguavon coached super eagles team....in the AFCON of the preceding year...and two years after the Olympic team...but they could not sustain their place.... most of the key players a allowed in Poland and other eastern Europe countries....
agbwo, Isaac promise, Adeleye,Apam, keita it is so pathetic....the chrisantus and lukman 2007 under 17 set still the biggest fraud...ever Humility baba, pls always gives little credit to those who are in charge of Nigeria youth football teams.I think they deserve some credit cos if not for them the little achievement we have in football would not have been possible. If you are telling me players like Dele Adeleye and Isaac Success whom I know very well are age cheats as at 2005 then i surrender. The Adeleye you are talking about still played top-flight football last season in Europe. Mind you youth football does not guaranteed future successl cos I remember certain Gabri who was part of Spanish team to Nigeria 99,highly rated than Xavi but failed to measure up |

Icon4s: Firstly, the issue of longevity: Yes, most of the youth players fizzle out earlier than expected but that is a universal process although it varies across different continents. In some cases we are responsible for this as we are always so quick to throw out an older player from the national team once we see a new one.
Secondly, not all youth players progress well. It is not just an issue of age cheating. Do u know how many of Manu and Amuneke's boys that passed the MRI that have fizzled already and we have not heard anything about them again?
The Holland 2005 u talk about go round all national teams that took part in that tournament and point to me how many are still playing or are playing on the high stage. For instance, where is Ryan Babel and the rest of the Dutch players that took us to penalties in that tournament? You may want to cite the Argentine team but I can ask you " where are the Argentine players that played their U20 in 2009 and 2011? That 2005 Argentine U20 was a golden generation just like our 1993 U17 team and the Spanish team 1999 U20 team. Such crop of players come once in a while.
We have proud products of our youth system that are very much still balling. Players like Ahmed Musa, Kenneth Omeruo, Ogenyi Onazi, Shehu Abdulahi, Moses Simon, Wilfred Ndidi, Semi Ajayi and Jamilu Collins are some of the U20 players of 2011 & 2013 that we harvested and we are reaping from their performances today. And this crop do not look like they won't make it to the next WC.
Somebody coming here to tell us that we should expect nothing from our age grade teams is totally baseless and mischievous. Boss you nailed it. |

bilms: Saraki is in trouble, if anything happens to these 7 people says Kwara group
https://mrrightsng..com/2019/02/saraki-is-in-trouble-if-anything.html?m=1
A leading Pro-Democracy group in Kwara State, Kwara Must Change has listed names of people whose lives have been put under consistent threat by political thugs loyal to the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State.
In a statement by the group’s State coordinator, Comrade Yusuf Olatunji, Kwara Must Change stated that some government critics and opposition leaders are being targeted by political thugs and assassins in the state.
Recall that recently, several people were shot during an All Progressive Congress (APC) campaign in Ilorin.
Kwara Must Change stated that in 2018, immediately after the All Progressive Congress (APC) won by-election in Kwara South, the winner of the election, Hon. Abdulraheem Ajulo Opin and the APC governorship candidate, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq were attacked by political thugs on their way to Ilorin.
Similarly, the APC governorship candidate, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and other APC leaders in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital were recently rescued from political assassins who stormed the venue of APC rally and opened fire on the people.
‘’We have equally seen the consistent attack on Comrade Musbau Esinrogunjo, AMB. Yahaya Seriki and Comrade Akaje Ibrahim from Agabji, all of whom have become the prime target in recent time, It said.
The group also added that the leadership of Kwara Must Change has not been speared in this consistent threat and attacks, noting that its president and coordinators across the state have been repeatedly targeted without provocation over the years.
It therefore warned that the leader of the ruling party, Senator Bukola Saraki shall be held responsible, should anything happen to all the people identified because he has never called his supporters to order, neither did he ever condemned their unacceptable behavior.
Specifically, Kwara Must Change listed 7 people, whose live is under threat in Kwara state, which include the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, member of federal house of representative, Honourable Abdulraheem Ajulo Opin, APC governorship aspirant, AMB. Yahaya Seriki, APC Senatorial aspirant, Comrade Musbau Esinrogunjo, Elder Stateman, Barrister Kunle Sulaiman, APC Federal House of Representative aspirant from Agbaji, Comrade Akaje Ibrahim and Kwara Must Change State coordinators in the 16 local government,t particularly its state coordinator, Comrade Yusuf Olatunji.
END Kwara must change a pro democracy group?and funny enough they are working for APC.Honestly Nigeria is at crossroads. |

tbaba1234: Siasia has always been loyal to his boys no matter what and it affects team selection. The last Olympic team could have been much better. What was the value of the last Olympics to the senior team? Sir abi no be the same Olympic team that arrived Rio almost on a match day.Abi no be the same team that was starved of money. On loyalty, well said just like Rohr loyalty to his boys cos am still expecting Iheanacho to make Rohr team no matter what. My man that team had better outing despite the hiccups. On the value to SE,well i remember Ekong and Etebo as part of the team. |

Icon4s: To the bolded. Ezenwa is not a Newbie to the national team. He we a first choice goalie for his clubs for many years. He was the NPFL all stars 1st choice goalie that went on that Madrid tour , and with a performance that stired interest from Athlotico Madrid . He was in the team with Enyeama and also Carl Ikeme. And so the national team handlers, haven been with him this long, are comfortable with his abilities to an extent. I have raised a question before that rather than ask why Ezenwa was invited to the SE despite being 2nd or 3rd choice at Enyimba ask why he was 2nd or 3rd choice at Enyimba despite his performances in the GWG.
So, Alampasu's case cannot at all be compared with Ezenwa's case when he was with Enyimba. Boss i disagreed.Ezenwa eagles calls up always tells me something is amiss. My point,it’s high time Rohr bring in another young goalie not even necessarily Alampasu than two old goalies on the bench for young inexperience Uzoho. Better to have another era of Enyeama,Ejide and Aiyenugba though my opinion. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Kog45(m): 7:06am On Jan 29, 2019 |
Icon4s: There is nothing like being biased here. I am saying it as it is. Uzoho and Alampasu as far as the national team is concerned are not on the same category. Uzoho is more tested and trusted in the national colors. And so if Uzoho's club's coach doesn't have trust in him Rohr does. And so he will get the nod. It appears Rohr doesn't have confidence in Alampasu. Had it been that Alampasu continues to get game time in his club and also doing great with it while Uzoho continues on the bench then Alampasu definitely has a case. Which is why I earlier said let us hope Alampasu secures that spot first before we start clamoring for the SE.
U call Ezenza old papa. The same old papa that has proven to be a credible back up goalie from our WCQ to our last AFCON game.
There is no cause for alarm in the goal keeping position please. Ezenwa and Akpeyi will be Gradually phased out when the time comes. Alampasu and other up coming young goalies should continue working hard. Their time will come. Boss, time to go back to the era of Enyeama,Ejide and Aiyenugba.Enough of Ezenwa and Akpeyi. Uzoho came into SE as division three goalkeeper and did well at WC cos till today I still see him as very average,so thumbs up for him.Alampasu is not clubless and I think he deserves a chance based on his age.Ezenwa was getting call ups as second and third choice in ordinary NPFL then why not Alampasu. It’s time for Rohr to build eagles with young and promising goalkeepers like Uzoho,Alampasu and the rest. |

that was what happened to zidane... he seized the opportunity and cement his grip on the job same way Oliver solkjaser is doing with Manchester united... though there different scenarios... I am just sayn...SiaONE have no excuses..
he messed up Humility baba, national team football is different from club football. Yes Siasia failed twice and is on record but my own critical assessment of our non qualifications was traced to Eguavoen and Oliseh though I accept your view that Sia had the opportunities. |

Icon4s: Siasia was in charge for the whole of the 2012 AFCON qualfiers yet his attacking philosophy failed us. Before then the last time I withnessed Nigeria crashing out in an AFCON qualfiers was in 1985 ie qualfiers for the '86 AFCON in Ivory Coast. Siasia is good but remember that we failed to qualify for 2012 due to Eguavoen inept against Guinea in Conakry.Oiseh left the team when it matter most in 2017 and Siasia took over.Pls give Siasia eagles job from the scratch and see a solid team. Boss, point of correction,1986 AFCON was hosted by Egypt and i remember we lost to Zambia by 1 nil and drew at home in 1985 and this nailed our participation. |
