The kidnaper receives the bitcoin using a wallet stored on his phone. Immediately he logs in and transfers the bitcoin,
His IP address goes into the private log of the wallet provider and this log can be obtained with a court order.
So all the kidnapper needs to do is send the bitcoin and his IP address can be traced. And you think these kidnappers would be dumb not to use VPN or even have an entirely different phone for such dubious transactions? For your information, they would never even browse with a SIM registered with their personal details.
Once you backtrace the IP address with the telecom provider like MTN etc.
You then get the SIM contact details and also the cell tower it pinged.
Catching the kidnappers is too easy if the police know what to do.
