mostob:It's not every nonsensical proposition without substance do I respond to. As well as indulge misguided youthful exuberance. But to show you the error of your ways and maybe you might just learn something, as it's obvious your limited life experience, has not taught you. However, the application suffered a long delay due to the player's inability to sort out his Nigerian passport aa well as his failure to provide a written request for a change of association in line with Fifa regulations I really don't know the validity of this statement supposedly coming from the NFF. If it is, it's shameful open display of crass incompetence or something even more sinister, wilful intended to delay. The written request is an administrative formality confirmation it will take you 1 minute to type. Giving your express wish to change your national team allegiance. Getting your passport is a day job. A competent national football administrative body. Will simply type it out in a standard format ( you should have this format on file) you email the player to sign and return e- signature should suffice. But even if original are required first class UK is next day recorded and signed it costs £2/3. The passport talk is just hilarious nonsense. You should know I know a few of our Nigerian origin players. Who have played for Nigeria. The NFF facilitated they simply went to Nigeria High Commission, Northumberland Ave. London. Sat in the High Commissioner office, and within less than two hours, Nigeria passport was in their hands. I am really surprised how full and dopey some people are to believe this codswallop. That's if it is really TRUE a statement from the NFF |
andrewbaba44:I am trying to highlight the implications on expectations with a high transfer fee. This is very normal in football. You are being speculative, do you know injury is part of football. If you start getting injury every season they will tag you injury prone too. That will bring your value in down too. I think he would have probably got 15 goals or more , but it's still speculative. |
Danielnino00:In the FA Cup you may get a poor team 5th tier league club, you might get a very good team from EPL. But it can give a wrong impression of quality when the opposition is weak. Also quite a few teams put out a weaker team because they want to concentrate on the league. So I prefer a level playing field where the opposition is of a minimum standard. So I tend to predominantly look at goals scored in your league. Which gives a better insight into the quality and capacity of the player. If you think of that's prejudice, thats your choice |
andrewbaba44:He has been playing in the Swedish and Norwegian league for about 10 year's. He then was released i.e. contract not renewed and he goes to relegation bound team in the French League in 2022. Although he is a DM l find it very strange that in 10 seasons he never scored one goal in the league. These are not the attributes of a player that one will call outstanding. Maybe you know something more than the clubs he played for in the lowly Swedish league. Please educate me. |
andrewbaba44:I think the journalist was just being straightforward and not giving any excuses. Victor cost £75 million plus, last season he scored 10 goals after 24 games in Seria A. Yes ,he got injured and couldn't play a full season. But when people pay World class money for a player they expect world class performances. The reality is he hadnt lived up to expectations. It's a new season 6 goals from 14 games is not bad, but when you put in the transfer fee and expectations. Will you honestly say he has done enough. Many will want to make exceptions for their darling player who can do no wrong. But that's just favouritism. The reality is if he doesn't start putting in figures commensurate with his huge transfer fee. Then the criticism is going to increase much more. Lukaku went from Manchester United to Inter for £68 million. He was the second highest goal scorer in Seria A, just behind Ronaldo , last season. |
mostob:What else should you do. The basis of selection is your consistent, outstanding, top level performances in your club and league, nothing else. No sentiment. |
Stormtrooper11:Last year I was in Nigeria for 7 month's over three trips. I don't live in Banana Island. I am not from a rich extended family and I know about poverty. I will not go into details on the number of people I have to help family and friends. That's between me and my God. Do you know that there are some people if I did not pay Thier medical bills they will simply die. Do you know there graduate in Lagos that earn 40k a month. What can that do for anybody even a child. People be can extremely unreasonable and pretentious here. |
JohnBullMySon:Don't you think you have instituted a double standard as well as misinformation. This is Ademola Lookman 5th Season in the EPL. On his debut for Everton in January 2017 Everton flogged Manchester City 4-1 and he scored. Because this is Lookman third season in the EPL . Now compare his consistency with any other player in the SE and he will probably be right at the top. Don't forget he was winning MOTM as a 17 year old for Charlton in the Championship. In January 2019 he got a MOTM against Bournemouth for Everton. He has been very consistent. For a winger 3 goals in 15 games in the EPL may not be excellent but very good. Now if you like compare him to anybody else in the SE and you will see ,you are under rating him. He has been a consistent performer for essentially 7 years. |
yinkeys:Your prejudice is naked. When Leicester city beat Liverpool 1-0, who was the outstanding player that got the only goal against arguably one of the best team's in Europe . Please tell us , Oga bad belle Prejudice master.❓❓ |
yinkeys:Very simple best players get selected that's how it is done not the oldest. |
TheGoodJoe:This is a peer review published medical journal. Not layman's talk. I posted extracts years ago . |
Longneck:Actually there were several. First Aina got turned, chased him back blocked him off and showed him inside, while he covered his right side, from the Egyptian player coming from his right wing , Ndidi failed to tackle the player, Omeruo failed to close him down and Okoye failed to save. A catalogue of errors |
TheGoodJoe:Years ago I took out a peer review medical journal published and made some extracts. Making it very clear that environmental background impacts dramatically on age bone Fusion. We know that malnutrition impacts on growth. You will not compare a boy growing up in the USA with high in protein diet, enhanced environment background including health and medical care. With one in a highly challenged socio economic one in Nigeria, where to eat a quality meal is a big challenge. We will not even talk about medical care and a healthy environment. But I can't be bothered by with you today. |
yinkeys:Your position in any organisation in is by merit not longevity. And that should be the case with the national team as well. Competence is not by age. You are a retrogressive and backward people like you cannot institute progression. You rather remain in mediocrity. Thats how sent a highly incapable Echiejele to world cup . |
TheGoodJoe:Transparency and integrity requires you submit your findings for inspection , they refused WHY. She would have had the tests results verified professionally very easily by comparison by carrying on out an additional MRI scan . And that would have exposed the NFF . When I had my ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction) more than one MRI scan was requested because my surgeon needed more clarity. It's not abnormal to ask for your MRI scan results, if you paid for them they are yours not the NFF, making a copy for the player is routine not contentious. But of course it's the NFF what do we expect. |
yinkeys:You are highly RETROGRESSIVE you are the typical reason why Nigeria is in the doldrums . Stick with Buhari because he has been there the longest. Longevity is not competence, I think you need to be re-educated. Musa is over has nothing to offer, he is old fire wood. |
JohnBullMySon:You guys and your favouritism, what has Tijani done to get SE selection. What has he done ![]() |
mostob: NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, in response said: “We sent in the application on Wednesday night after putting all the necessary documentation together. We are happy to receive the approval today. I said this earlier, a player commits to a new National team, he sends his written letter of change of allegiance/ nationality CONFIRMATION. It is then the duty of the national football association to submit the application after completing all due diligence to FIFA. Once again Ovie and Ademola made that commitment over three years ago. But the NFF did NOTHING I wonder why ❓ But have been giving false narratives that the English FA is delaying approval. Utter balderdash. We then have some highly ignorant and misguided individuals promoting that narrative right here. FYI Ovie and Ademola went on trials for Nigeria U17 but were rejected by the NFF after high recommendations by the coordinator in the UK . Eberechi Eze made commitment to Nigeria but they left him in the dark for three year's. He then decided to play U21 for England. The reality is there is no integrity in the NFF add to all that Godfatherism, Nepotism, Corruption, Favouritism and crass Incompetence. And all this is not surprising to me AT ALL |
yinkeys:You want to practice subjective judgement by your definition of loyalty in football and justify bias and prejudice. Do you know there are players who hate their Manager and team but were still the best player in the club , look at Rooney and Manchester United. Do you know if all these your beloved so called patriotic Nigerian born footballers had the chance to change allegiance and play for England how many will say NO Your talking a load of codswallop. |
TheGoodJoe:You are becoming like a village politician, changing the narrative and even changing the goal post to suit your own agenda. Please have some integrity. Obinwa came to get selected for the U17 it seems he did very well and no one could deny him a place. However, he was treated differently. First of all his mother was told to bring 100k plus naira for his MRI test . When she was told that he failed it ,she contested the results and asked for a copy of the MRI scan results that she had paid for. The NFF blatantly refused to release the results. We now have it on evidence that NFF officials have involvement in manipulation of MRI results. Considering all the different permutations , and the lack of transparency, integrity and honour by the NFF. Can anybody place confidence in their conduct. You are s camelion l watched you scream and shout that the MRI scan was infallible. Once l pointed out that Ndidi failed the test in 2003 you changed your narrative. People don't just fail MRI results unless they are over age there are always extreme by exceptiond. But it is an age range and it will tell you somebody has reached bone fusion and cannot be U17. Althou with that range depending on individual circumstances, stunted growth from poor nutrition, etc a person from a socio- economic background that's challenging added to environmental factors who is 21+ may still come out as U17. You simply lack integrity. |
andrewbaba44:Bruv the discussion of age CHEATING in Africa will never end. Because its endemic and institutional as well as cultural. I know somebody who married a woman who was older than him, by the time he discovered ,it was too late pikin don enter. Look at our boys of U17 in the 2009 world cup then look at the boys of Switzerland, Brazil ( Coutinho, Neymar) see how they changed. Our own remain the same. Leave that Matta for Matthias, if you are 40 and you can still perform then I'm ok with that whether you claim to be 21 or 25. Look at Ashley Young at Villa if he was an African he will claim 24 nobody will argue with him |
TheGoodJoe:Your football mind is like someone in IT still using DOS when we have progressed to Windows 11. You are in a Nostalgic dream, for an era that has DIED. Football has progressed and the days of one players knitting everything in midfield is not the favoured approach of the best teams. The entire Midfield works hard as a collective . Nwakali doesn't have the basic skills set to play as a quality Midfielder in the modern game. That's why he is the Segundo division and his club wants to offload him. |
Danielnino00:You really are a Desperate Dan , but try to be more substantive and stop talking balderdash. You are now clutching at straws and telling bare faced LIES garnished with huge amounts of disinformation. Sadiq, played in the Serbian league over two seasons ago that is not RECENTLY maybe in your false narrative it is for you. When he played there it was a poor league with limited quality players as results it was ranked 19th in Europe 2019/20. But they upgraded and got better players and without Sadiq they are rated 13 in Europe. He then comes to poorer quality Segunda Division and has remained there for two consecutive seasons now. Dude is an embarrassment to the SE. |
Eizzy003:If that's true, we all know he will sign that contract with his fingers if biro no deh |
andrewbaba44:First of all if you want to be honest, nobody knows the true age of African players born in Africa. Nonetheless, Ighalo is 32 and we are talking a difference of 2 years ,thats inconsequential. I will ask you how old is Ronaldo ❓I will tell you , 37 and last season at the age of 36 he scored 29 goal in Seria A. Consider this Ighalo was the AFCON highest goal scorer last tournament and in this tournament it's Aboubakar both in their 30's. And funnily they both play in the same league. Our best three strikers in the HERE and NOW from the current squad are Ighalo, Dennis and Victor no order of preference. I noticed despite Simy scored 20 goals in Seria A last season 2020/21 double the goals of Victor O. Nobody really talks about him here or clamours for his inclusion in the SE. But we want a players like Sadiq and Nwakali from the poorly Segundo division. Is that not not undue favouritism ![]() |
drDoom3:Sorry you are stuck in dark ages. The modern day forward player is able to play across the front line. In this regard ,you would not call Mane Raheem Salah Ronaldo Greenwood Lacazette Aubemyang Rashford Vinícius Gabriel Balotelli Etc, etc , Wingers If you are striker and you can't play from the wing it's more of a disadvantage. Unless you are really top class like Lewandoski, Kane, Ibrahimavich, Vardy, Haaland. |
13large:That's bigotry and hypocrisy. Because we all know that age creation pervades every facet of life in Nigeria . But then we are mostly hypocritical, Ndidi failed an MRI scan in 2013. Go and look at Omeruo in 2009 when he was supposed 15 and look at him now. When it comes to age we know what happens in Africa. |
andrewbaba44:He may he may not. But among second tiers the Segunda is poor. |
charlesemeka85:Ekong long ball's were not accurate more hopeful. |
Kog45:There is a difference to what people say and what they have actually done. Dennis and Victor have done more or less the same thing. Dennis is now our most in form striker ,he has to be in the squad |
jihday:After three year's a process that should take 21 days . Only the NFF can explain what they have been doing. |
Stormtrooper11:I don't know. Getting a red card in the AFCON is not necessarily tied to the World cup qualifiers, two different competitions. Or educate me with FIFA of regulations. |
