Eartquake1: I don't take seriously a league where Jermaine Defoe is scoring a hat trick Defoe at 34 was doing the same in the EPL. If he was in the Belguim Turkish and or French league he will still score goal and possibly hatricks so don't you take those league seriously. |

See squad... .. ..All of them are decent players at their club.. not world class but certainly not below average (most of them)
Gernot Rohr, we don't want stories in 2021 You have to have some sort of unit of measurement to determine average or top players. For instance you may not be the highest goal scorer in the EPL with 10 goals for instance but be classed as average or even below. However, that same below average EPL player then goes to a lower European league and in that league becomes Messi all things being equal. Another example is having a huge transfer fee on your head is indicative not conclusive of quality. Maguire has just gone to Manchester United for ridiculous money. Is he the best defender in the world not to me. Is he in the top 10 in the world still very debatable. What l am saying essentially is ITS VERY DIFFICULT that's why football is so exciting. Because nobody can get it RIGHT all the time. |

daveP: With Utmost sincerity, i see no reason why most of those against Forgiveness talk are really biting their necks off.
He might not be topnotch, but forgiveness make a stronh, undaunted fact.... Ajagun is the only SE capped player, infact the 2nd Nigerian playing AM role in a rated league. 2nd not 11th or 22nd.
Trust me, if he continues perfoming, Rohr that needs someone in that role will reconsider him cos that role is as scarce as anything the SE cureent needs. Out of scarcity might outweigh the out of performance.
So asides this, i think most of those attacking him got him wrong. I hate this tribal smirk. Must that always be the Thanos-ic Finger click to winning? Agreed without reservation |

Nigerian players on the score sheet today Osimhen with two great start.
Ojo playing on the wing scored one for Rangers.
But the most impressive for me although not Nigerian was Defoe with a hatrick at age 36 will be 37 this year. If he was Nigerian we would have totally written him off. |

But then I understand you, anything to diss the local player Nigerian have this ability to turn yellow to red and blue to black accept the lie when we know the truth. Taliban: Meanwhile am happy that Aneke scored yesterday just after six minutes of coming on. Anyway would you know why he was used as a 75th minute sub? Also did anyone watch Ebere and Osayi Samuel yday? The BBC reported that both tormented Huddersfield yday. Am particularly interested in Osayi Samuel as he's also a midfielder if am right and doesn't need any change of allegiance but nobody talks about him. Odubajo played again yday for Sheff. Wed but Dom Iorfa was not in match day squad. Ajayi also featured. Finally does anyone know why Etebo is yet to feature yet for Stoke, he hasn't even made match day squad. Right now we need to also have eyes on the EFL as there are a lot of Nigerian potentials there. Chuks Aneke has a hamstring Injury is recovering and they don't want to risk it too much. If I'm right Dominic Iorfa got a red last season and is serving suspension. Osayi is a winger. |

Joebie: BUT and IFs The point is Omeruo hasn't had a great club career until recently. He couldn't cut it in the championship. He did okay in Turkey and pretty well in Spain though. Omeruo has had far more opportunities because Chelsea is his parent club. Different circumstances compared to Ajagun. It's arguable they are in the same age range. It's not like young players never played in the NPFL Check Omeruo pictures in 2009 are age 15 and check him now. What do you notices very little change over 10 years including height. Go and look at Iwobi, Ejaria, Ojo, Onomah, Iorfa, Fikayo at 15 and see the difference. Ajagun, Omeruo, Kayode, etc are from the set where anything goes whatever you declared is what you are. I remember when Fortune Chukwudi was alleged to be over age his defence was " Na only me " Or better still look at Neymar and Coutinho at that time. |

charlesemeka85: Yes it's a step down but that was the best offer he had after the world cup monetary wise. The likes of Newcastle, gatefe and Valencia wanted him but Stoke offered him more money and signed him for 8-10 millions euros if am not mistaken.
Etebo never lacked suitors even Galatasaray wanted him on loan from Stoke this summer but Stoke refused because he is one of their best players. His name was also mooted in Newcastle for a possible transfer but Stoke refused letting him go. The championship pays a lot more than what many think here. I will say that generally Championship upper level will pay more than the La Liga and Seria A lower level. |

charlesemeka85: And what have he achieved since playing as a 10 in Europe for the over 6 seasons in European football?
What makes a player an asset is the ability to fit in in more than one position. Iwobi for example can be deployed as a supporting striker, number 10 and from the leftwing.
Aribo can be deployed as a cm, am and defensive midfielder, same goes to Onomah while ejaria can be deployed as a cm and attacking midfielder.
Eze is naturally a 10 but can be deployed as a winger which is where he has played for reading In their last 2 matches. IMO Aribo is now contending for the same position with Ndidi. Right now Ndidi needs to up his game and increase his passing range, add offensive play interceptions and yes a few more goals will be nice. That's if he wants to get to the next level. The fact that nobody came in for him with a serious bid says he needs to do more. If he doesn't hungry determined players like Aribo are coming behind him. By the way do you know that Chuks Aneke also plays AM in the last two seasons playing for MK Dons he had the highest number of assists and if I'm right goals as well. |

Please forgive my disdain for the Slovenian league, but come on, " that one na League " Rabui was once named as one of the top 20 teenage sensations in Europe. That's why l say youth football is only indicative not conclusive. Look how he has fallen and l am aware of the issues he faced at Sporting. But he went to Psv if I'm right then Gene, then Celtic, then Kilmarnock etc,etc . In a period of 10 years plus if of professional football he has played 75 games. Something is not right. He is getting paid he is officially 28 l don't think we should be looking at him. Or we should look at Haruna Lukman too who is playing in Lithuania after playing in Monaco and others meanwhile he is only 28. |

Alot of our foreign born players lacks good advisers I swear. I hope the likes of tomori, Tammy, uduokhai, torunarigha, Amaechi, Saka and co learn from the mistake of iorfa, onuoha, agbolahor,Sidney Sam, owomoyela, ehiogu and co Iorfa did not Turn Nigeria down, however the three Nigeria origin players in Germany did but we don't stop trying to get them to change allegiance. That's bigotry. There is a lot if misinformation about Dominic, he was an England international called up at 18 to train with the senior team. He made it intrinsically CLEAR that he would commit at 23.He had to give the English FA the impression he was committed to them. In his situation he must first of all sort out his long term contractual future and then n disengage himself from England U21 without bad blood. Well he did all that and at age 20 in March 2017 made that commitment to the NFF officially after a meeting with Rohr at Wolves. Rohr was very receptive made a number of positive commitments to him then Rohr got to Nigeria and everything CHANGED to date. With regards to decisions by Nigerian origin players. You really need to understand context. The first thing a player needs to do all the time is ALWAYS ensure your long term contractual future. Playing for England youth pushes your value way up the ladder and gets you lucrative endorsements. So before you start changing allegiance you generally ensure you have tied down all your loose ends. Effectively playing for Nigeria is not necessarily career enhancing it doesn't give you a boost. If you are already playing in the EPL or Championship you will be in the shop window week in week out. If you perform you will rise and have progression. You do in need the SE to further your career. These Nigerian origin players boys opting for Nigeria who were already making waves in thier careers. Do it out of love for thier Fatherland. |

only pressure i see is from the price tag When a big club pays £40 million for you it's just about average price for them Its not huge. However for Everton paying £40 million is HUGE and it will come with HUGE EXPECTATIONS. It's easier to play well surrounded by top players than with less technically gifted players. The assumption that it's going by be EASIER is simply not true. |

charlesemeka85: Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard reserved special praise for Joe Aribo following Rangers' impressive 4-2 road win against FC Midtjyland in the Europa League third qualifying round on Thursday evening.
The Scottish Premiership giants led 3-0 after 56 minutes thanks to goals from Alfredo Morelos, Aribo and Nikola Katic, before Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka reduced the deficit in the 58th minute.
The former Charlton Athletic star continues to show what he's capable of since his arrival at Ibrox, with his strike against FC Midtjyland his third goal in Rangers colors from five appearances in the Europa League qualifiers.
''I have nothing but praise for my players. This is a difficult opposition who have good players,'' said Gerrard to Rangers TV
''They are very big in profile and you can see their set-piece threat. They have got good players and technicians who can hurt you.
''I thought Jon Flanagan for his first start was immense. The two centre-backs were fantastic again and Joe Aribo again gets an unbelievable goal.''
London-born Aribo is willing to represent the Super Eagles if he is approached by the Nigeria Football Federation. If he continues with this level of consistency he is on his way to a big move. This Dude is very hungry and determined he has had to fight his way to the top no free hand outs given to.him on the way. |

BascoVanVeli: You can get yourself distracted anywhere even if say na village you dey but that doesn't mean Everton is the same as the capital of the country.
The media is even different sef and that means the pressure is automatically dropped. When you are in big club with multiple stars you find out there is less pressure on you. That's both case with Iwobi in Arsenal very little pressure and not too much expectation. But right now all eyes are in him in Everton with huge expectations from Manager and fans. It's like out of the small simmering frying pan and into the FIRE. He has to develop mental resilience he is not with the comfort of family and familiar faces in London. It's a big CHALLENGE but whatever happens he is laughing all the way to the Bank for the next 4/5 years. |
