safarigirl:I remember Guardiola literally banning young players from having girlfriends as an uneccessary distraction. I remember the sharp calculating girl that had a child for Raheem when he was 17. She was older, much more street savvy and wiser than him. Well she gets paid a very good % of his income until that Child is 18. Income that allows her to live very well without lifting a finger drive s brand new range rover, etc Adding another dimension to this. Do you know how many EPL players have been accused of rape❓ I know a few and in one case l knew the girl who was originally from E state calculating and cold hearted. She signed a NDA and got over £150k for a totally false allegation. Players make a calculation based on legal fees, loss of earnings, suspension from club, Damage to reputation, stress of court proceedings, Endorsements lost, etc. Etc. It becomes much more expedient and cost effective to pay the thief and liar that the girls are are. I know a player who played for Benfica came to the North West and fell victim to one of the girls. It nearly end his career, Liverpool were getting ready to sign him. He was 19 at the time and l don't think he has totally recovered. In the end he was discharged and acquitted but it took about a year yo get the judgement. I Agree with you without and would add that they can MURDER, DISINTEGRATE, ANNIHILATE a young player career TOTALLY. All because of momentary pleasure. The stories I could tell it would take days. |
isan:Go and read the story of Lukaku and you will find you will change that notion you have. |
andrew444:In the first place we are looking at INVITATION it's after performance we can have SELECTION. If we can players coming from the Nordic leagues and even lsreali leagues. Then him playing for Rangers should not be an issue. Otherwise that's simple hypocrisy and double standard. I have watched Aribo and I think he can bring a decent passing range, aggressive determination and some physicality but outstanding skill, technicality and being a CM to control the midfield for me a big NO. You need different types of players to make a good team. He reminds me of Dickson Etuhu and Seyi Olifinjana who is now an academy coach at Wolves. |
Joebie:I want you first to consider the number of top class quality of players that surround you at City. It's not a question of if you will score but numbers of goals scored. Put Ighalo, Ujah, etc in that position how many do you think they will score ❓ I said ages ago the true test of KC quality is when he goes to a club that doesn't have the same level of top quality players supporting you. Well that's happened and the rest has been history for the past two seasons at Leicester , abysmal. The idea you can use number of minutes played to goals scored as a means of determining quality. Is simply not true. Some will say coming on as a sub when your opponents are tired and weary, is a lot easier to score. That's why we talk of supersubs. The stats are clear therefore 20 games and 4 goals,if he showed more promise they would have given him.mote minutes and probably he would be still at Manchester city. But he was simply not good enough Some fanatical fans being Superdelusuional and out of touch with reality found that hard to believe. And called him EXCEPTIONAL TALENT comparing him to Aguero, Mbappe, Gabriel, etc. |

Please give me one instance where I have given any excuse for the poor delivery of Solanke who Liverpool bought for peanuts but sold for £20 million. If you cannot well you know what you are You need to read between the lines and understand the business of football. Sometimes a player is a good business transaction as opposed to a good football acquisition. Go back and read my comments on Solanke. How come you don't use Tega Abrahams as the comparison l have praised him 100 times more than Solanke. Why Solanke ❓ Solanke who l have met yes several times and l said it here many many moons ago, he has no affinity for Nigeria and will NEVER play for Nigeria. |
Bascovanveli2:He had a very good seasons on loan at Wycombe Wanderers that's what gave him leverage for first team football at QPR. This is not about standard but competition within the club. Have no mistake the Championship is still very competitive. Look at the prices of players in the Championship. |
andrew444:4 goals at Manchester city in the EPL 2016/17 season after 20 games is not stats you would attribute to an IN-FORM Striker or would you ❓ You may have different standards for IN-FORM than myself. |
elyte89:That's the big conundrum in bold. KC has not been in-form for over three seasons l suspect you will be WAITING FOR A VERY LONG TIME. In the interim while we wait ad infinitum it seems for KC let's pick those IN-FORM currently please. |
Bascovanveli2:Maybe so. But this football business at club level is very unforgiving if you don't put on top performances consistently. Your position will be taken over by someone who can, that's football. For me to tell him anything else is to set him up to fail. To get time the top you need not just ability but determination, diligence and mental resilience. Alex Ferguson waa harsh with his players to get the best out of them and push them to the next level. Pep cam be ruthless too look how Raheem has improved and how he dropped KC. |
elyte89:Consider what you have presented in highlighted in the bold. That's most DISSAPOINTING coming from you of all people. I expected a more substantive approach or if you like balance score card assessment of sorts. Not this joining the bandwagon of sentiment and fanatical favoritism for a player who has failed over the past three seasons in the No. 9 role comprehensively. A player is only as good as his last season, this is a short term career. There is very little time to impress. For the past three seasons the truth must be told KC has been ABYSMAL. People talk about him like he was a prolific goal scorer. He simply was not they use statistics to misrepresent his attributes. He scored 12 goals in two seasons for Manchester city in the EPL in his last season 2016/17 at City he scored 4 goals. For the past two seasons he has scored 4 goals in the EPL after 51 games, let's stop this unnecessary fanatical support its an insult to other Nigerian players who are doing well. Now some are calling him a better prospect than Ujah currently that's not true. How many goals would Ujah score surrounding by world class players if given the same opportunity. ❓ What we have here is shameless hypocrisy and double standard. Then with regards to being a No. 9 KC is simply not an out an out striker he just doesn't have the attributes. In this regard there are too many ahead and better than him in that position. |
Joebie:If I'm right he was a B player in Barcelona and didn't make it then ended up playing kick and rush in league one for Fleetwood Town. I watched him live he was not impressive I am sorry to say. He didnt understandably last long if you have been playing pretty technical football in Spain and come to league one, it will be a big CHALLENGE to adapt. I think he is in Sweden |
charlesemeka85:He need that thing that defines true quality CONSISTENCY. |
andrew444:IMO Etebo Who was Algeria most influential player ❓ and who does he play for and in what league. |
Humility017:Players go up and they go down in performance that's football. First of all l talked about Fred Onyedinma in comparison to the quality of players we were inviting. Nonetheless, many moons ago l said he made a BIG MISTAKE completely misplaced loyalty to Millwall. This is kid thar won MOTM at the age of 17 in the Championship. Wanted by Arsenal, Tottenham and others. Fast forward last 2017/18 Watford and QPR made confirmed bids for him. That foolish mistake to stay with a Quintessential kick and rush, blood and guts police game manager at Millwall gas literally ruined the ascendancy of his career. I wrote him off two seasons ago. However, I did not write off Dominic Iorfa he was not treated FAIRLY but denied opportunity to compete. After the shameful politics of Mendes at Wolves. He then goes to Sheffield Wednesday in the January window and as a defensive player scores three goals and is outstanding with severs assists. He may end up very shortly in the EPL. Aneke is pure Quality and has been for quite sometime. How many players have been continous consistent top quality and the OUTSTANDING at club and league over the past two seasons. He has just leapfrog from League 2 to the Championship all this after a near two year Injury nightmare. So apart from Onyedinma who has just sign with Wycombe Wanderers. Are you saying the other two are not making headway in thier careers ❓ I should also add that there is no football age here too. |
Icon4s:That's a bit of a double standard. What then is KC What then is Isaac Success What then is Nwakali both brothers What then is Ogu( flopped in Europe went Isreal but regular in the SE) The basis for INVITATION should and can only be your continous consistent top quality performances in your club and league NOTHING ELSE. |
forgiveness:We as Nigerians should NEVER bring age as an issue for selection. Because the reality is anybody born in Nigeria cant have his age Substantiated officially by governmental bodies. Apart from sworn declaration. We know ourselves. |
forgiveness:I can't really speak Yoruba but can say a few of the basic words to get around. I made the mistake of assuming he had a limited understanding of Yoruba. Well he completely floored me quite embarrassing. |
Danielnino00:My opinion is the same it doesn't matter whether he plays for Barcelona or Accrington Stanley. Ajayi is big tall battler not skilful or relying on tactical use of skill and guile to overcome but hard work and determination. He suited the kick and rush game that Rotherham play which is essentially his game. In the very physical and intense Championship you will need to play ugly to win sometimes and to that you may decide to have a physical player to help you do that. West Bromwich have decided they lacked some steel and grit and needed an enforcer. And Seyi fits the bill. A bit like Felliani at Manchester United very limited player but a good big tall battler. Not a fans favourite but sometimes desperate times require desperate actions and so Jose used him. But not Sol. |
Taliban:Injury looks like hamstring will need 2/3 weeks to recover possibly less. |
forgiveness:He wants to play for Nigeria and he speaks Yoruba fluently as well as Dutch and English and some Spanish too |
Danielnino00:Sane and Mane may not be the tallest but they are not lightweights. They are very strong and not easily shaken off the ball. |
Danielnino00:Not a lot just a few. I don’t think l said with regard to language A LOT. There are ajebutter children born in Lagos with Yoruba parents that can't speak Yoruba. |
andrew444:Looking at the current defenders Everton have the style of play and the fact that Zumah has gone back to Chelsea. I see him playing a lot of games and then inevitably he will be first choice. |
andrew444:Actually that's what they said and a big fat sign on fee to support it. His Dad is smiling with a very big smile, thats all I can say. |
andrew444:I would advise him VERY STRONGLY not to have anything to do with Burnley and Dyche under any circumstances. Villa and Everton and l expect Newcastle to come in for him very soon a big YES YES. |
andrew444:With regards to KC there is a fanatical super delusional group of hallelujah praise singers, that irrespective of the Blatant statistics of non performance Staring you in the face can't stop HAILING HIM. He has scored 4 goals in two seasons and thats still exceptional talent. He then scores in pre season against far weaker opposition. And what do we hear KC is Back he has Arrived, back to FORM. Quickly call him back. Thats favoritism, hypocrisy and double standard. Until KC starts to perform and score at least 10 goals in a season he should be not be called there are far too many more deserving players. |
forgiveness:Bobby Adekanya has a long way to go, he needs to play competitive first team football for one season before anything can be said. Seyi Ojo is already proven he has great end product but not a lot of skill and the obligatory flamboyance needed to endear yourself to the Nigerian fans. You must understand it would FOOTBALL SUICIDE when you are a established England youth international. To declare for another country when you have not sorted out your long term contractual future. That's exactly what Lookman, Ejaria , Ojo, Onomah, Iorfa, etc have done. However, you don't invite yourself there is still a protocol. There were some who were NEVER going to play for Nigeria like Solanke and Ibe, which I said many many moons ago. |
mostob:It's just the cultural dynamics of being in England and the shameless failings of many Nigerian parents. I meet 5th Generation Jews who speak and read Hebrew fluently. I meet Arabs and I am including North African that are 4th generation, but speak Farsi and Arabic fluently. However, Nigerian children mostly cannot speak thier Father and or Mother tongue and some even came to England as teenagers. Shockingly l find quite a few Nigerians born and never left Nigeria unable to speak any Nigerian language. Ibe case is not his fault, his Nigerian Father has absent from his life. He was brought up by his Jamaican step Father. |
Joebie:Agreed without reservation. However, if l say that it will be classed as bad belle as opposed to being realistic. When the season has got into full swing then we will in a better position to appraise matters. |
charlesemeka85:So also are Everton and Villa. |
Danielnino00:With regards to the AFCON l completely agree with Rohr decision. Both of them lack physicality and were too lightweight for the AFCON at that time. New season mow, let's see how much they will improve and if they don't there will some others improving such as Odey. It's current form that gets you called to the SE not past glories. |
