I didn't limit the scope of racist. There was a context to the conversation. What I did was shine the light on the root of it which is hate.

While I also agree that racist name calling and abuses are largely inconsequential, the reactions from Vini's experience suggest otherwise. Many persons (and rightly so) are not built to consider it as such.

I personally do not subscribe to the "institutional racism" narrative . I believe it's a more nuanced conversation . I think that racism is quite serious, unfortunately we've used it so much for things that aren't remotely racist that it's beginning to lose its potency.

I do believe that everyone, irrespective of race have unconscious bias. By our lived experience, we sometimes believe that certain persons are better suited for certain roles. It most times have nothing to do with hate, it's just how we've learnt to do this. It's why though women's football is played 100% by women, we have less than 30% women coaches handling these teams. It's got nothing to do with hate, it's just how the world has learnt to do things and of course evolution will occur with time.

It's why I am a vast supporter of equality of opportunity. It's how we give people the chance to do damage to our biases. Equality of opportunity however isn't necessarily equality of outcome.
Women's football an example of discrimination and inequality.

Women football is over a hundred years behind mens football in practice and delivery.

If you make a comparison of women's athletics and men's athletics the bare both of a very high standard. With the obligatory difference in gender.

But I can assure you that an academy team of U16 boys will finish England women's national team.

But we are being force fed mediocrity and comedic poor quality football ⚽ just because they are women.

Women have not acquired the experiential and knowledge competencies that men have got over a century. That's not discrimination just pure FACTS.

But a woman will get the job over much far better qualified make coach for one reason she is a WOMAN the pertinent and overriding qualifying component.

Thats reverse discrimination and sexism.

Back to racism, you are either living in Nigeria or you are in a bubble.

Racism is alive kicking and ingrained as well as wide spread and it BLATANTLY denies excludes and castigates black professionals in Football ⚽ management and administration at every level.

It's not a debate but FACT.

You're right... Racism isn't something that might never ever go away ..it's in human nature...
However, with regards to the context which is how it is being handled, the premier league is still at least making sure that it doesn't become a norm... Hardly will u see fans chanting such racist slurs at a player and go unpunished.
La Liga is sending the wrong message if they don't deal with it sooner...
The premier League is doing window by dressing and highlighting name calling as a central issue and not addressing the core issues.

Name calling is just the tip of the iceberg.

It's institutional endemic and long standing and rife across the entire football league in England.

This isn't exactly accurate though. What the EPL does better than the others is grandstand and posture, but when it comes to addressing racism they are all the same. Isn't it the same England that Saka and 2 others were subjected to racist abuse after that euros penalty misses?

The EPL has learnt from the USA playbook;
Just kneel before every match, wear special wrist bands, donate to causes that "fight racism" etc. The most important thing is that you be seen as an ally.

Sadly, we can only learn to manage these things, racism isn't going anywhere. It's hate plain and simple and It is innate to the fallen man. It disguises itself in different shades and nomenclature but borne of the same source. It's called tribalism in African parlance but racism abroad. We saw it in our elections just a few months ago. It rares it's ugly head on this platforms too from time to time.

I wish there was a legislative solution to this, but you can't legislate love into people's heart.
Actually you are limiting the scope of racism.

Racist Name calling and abuse , is largely inconsequential although not nice. To lay emphasis on this area of racism evades the core issue.

Equality of opportunity

Considering the number of black football ⚽ players who have performed at the highest level.

You will not find a single Black Manager in the EPL and we have two in Championship.

How many academy directors, heads of recruitment and even academy coaches are black in England. Therein lies the problem.

Darren Moore current Manager of Sheffield Wednesday was appointed interim manager of West Bromwich Albion when they were in the EPL.

He did an astounding job beyond all expectations what was really a poisoned chalice. As a consequence they had no choice but to give him the job , he had an unbeaten run of game's even beating Manchester United and giving the title as a consequence to Manchester city. Nonetheless they were still RELEGATED.

As WBA manager he got sacked when they were 4th position in the Championship.

Currently Sheffield Wednesday had the longest unbeaten record in all the leagues of Europe.

They are in the playoffs now and in pole position to get back to the Championship. They overturned a 3-0 deficit to get to the play off final.

If Darren Moore was white he would be managing an EPL team.

Racism is both conscious and unconscious but it's endemic and institutional. This is a an industry that very perceptive led and subjective so racism rule's.

So in your own words a player that has been very poor away from Liverpool is good enough for them but a player who has been balling out and just proved himself in their league is not. Does that make any sense?
It's not so simplistic.

Awoniyi is a very different type of player to Origi.

And because it didn't work for Origi in AC Milan doesn't automatically mean it will work for Awoniyi in Liverpool.

2 goals & 1 assist in 35 appearances for AC Milan this season. Outside Liverpool origi has been average at best.
I would say very poor, average a big No, he has been quite disappointing.

However, when he played for Liverpool he was the oustanding super sub. I have to say he was not the best in training, a lazy trainer.

Origi was a very technically gifted player and became the quintessential super sub.

Origi was also a very expensive bench warner albeit valued.

How did you arrive at that deduction.

Have you heard of the saying, that when the desirable is not available the available becomes desirable.

All of Leicester city's striker's have been wholly inadequate for a Premier league team. Vardy has the excuse of age he is 36 now and is struggling. But for the past decade he has been outstanding for them. But all good things must come to an end.

However, KC and Daka are just about the same never good enough for the premier League. Both of them are poor.

And I can imagine KC getting subbed off and Daka coming on , I can't see them winning this game, LEICESTER have nothing to offer.

But it's football, anything can happen although highly unlikely.

When Emmanuel Dennis, V.O. , Ndidi did so well in Belgium it was because there was no indigenous home grown players from Belgium in their respective football ⚽ teams abe. See 🙈 reasoning.

Yes, his name was no 1 on the list.
Statistics are indicative not conclusive.

It's quite possible in fact I am almost certain Ndidi had better statistics than Ngole Kante when it comes to tackles and maybe interceptions. But did anybody EVER think Ndidi was better than Ngole.

I don't think 💬 so.

Some of you guys here are obsessed with statistics and looking at player ratings and using that as the singular basis for player quality.

When Taiwo, Gibbs-White and Johnson played together they always swap positions in game, that was the system. I never said he was an out and out winger, I said he is versatile meaning he can play there if need be. If u go back to the Chelsea game earlier in the season, he was balling on the wings. I have been watching Klopp for years and it is a bold face lie to say Taiwo cannot fit his system.

At the end of the day Liverpool sold Taiwo and bought Darwin Nunez as their target man. Taiwo has had less appearances this season, less minutes, taken way less shots and still has the same amount of goals. When u add his discipline, intelligence and hard working mentality it is easy for me to say that Liverpool would be much better today if Taiwo were in the building.
The adaptability, skill and technicality required to alternate and switch positions in forward play at Liverpool FC.

NO disrespect, are very different from the skill sets required for Nottingham Forest.

In this regard as much as I like Awoniyi, he doesn't meet those requirements where Liverpool are concerned.

You are correct similar but not the SAME thing.

Remember that all things in football ⚽ are time limited.

And I qualified my statement with AT THAT TIME and that was 5/6 years ago.

Football ⚽ is not static it has progression and retrogression.

One question for you , has V.O. remained the same over the past 6/7 years ❓

Second question has Nwakali had commensurate progression in comparison with his U17 youth exploits 7/8 years ago ❓❓

At his peak Nwakali couldn't get into the Arsenal youth team. After 3 seasons on the Dutch second tier he found himself in Porto B and unable to claim a regular position. So why do you think he will walk straight into Everton U18 ❓

He has moved to the abyss of the bottom level of the poorly Segunda division and do you think he has improved.❓❓❓

I am being measured and objective not subjective.

I said this about 7/8 games ago that Everton will not be relegated.

Looking at the bottom 6 Everton have the best players and the greater quality squad depth.

Nwakali will not get into the youth team even if they allowed him at 24 to play in the U18's.

For someone who comments on football you suprise me.

You are changing the variable by presumptive subjective preference led self birthed assumptions.

My comments were simplistic Liverpool did not at any time REGRET selling Awoniyi. They got him for next to nothing and sold him for £6.5 million great business.

For a player that was never going to play for Liverpool.

Darwin Nunez has nothing to do with it .

I don't think so football ⚽ doesn't work like that.

Unfortunately and fortunately there is a time to stay and a time to leave.

If Pogba had stayed at Man U we would not be talking about him now. Of Sancho had not left city he would have got lost in the academy. If Jude Billingham had stayed with Birmingham city he would no be the best and most sought after young Midfielder in World 🌎 Football today.

This is the nature of football.

In this regard if V.O. had stayed at Wolfsburg he may by now may have been lost football. Limited opportunity, no development and being pushed to one side.

Fred Onyedinma was UNAVAILABLE for 60% of the games in his club because of injury. And quite often your sit on the bench and get eased back into games not rushed in.

KC has been healthy, fit and largely available to play for 90% of the football season.

On the other hand 60% of the season Fred has been UNAVAILABLE due to injury.
