BusinessRe: Akwa Ibom Govt Gives Traders 31 Day Ultimatum To Reduce Price Of Foodstuff by konfused: 7:34am On Jun 08, 2017
Imagine, sometimes I wonder the kind of leaders we have.

The forces of market determines price, so what if they decided to lock up their shop instead of selling at that reduced price, will they come and drag them from their houses?

How can a sane individual give such ultimatum without recourse to the reasons that brought about the increase at first.

so they should sell at a reduced price and incur loses.....then from where do they make up the deficit to get new goods. sometimes our leaders dont think through somethings before making utterances.

Just imagine the level of triablism and hate for Igbos, the whole of the front page was an all out attack on the IGBOS.

What is really wrong with some folks, was it Igbos that started the rumourshuh? I just can't comphrend the level of hate some Nigerians have for the Igbos.

I am really scared and wary of the extent and magnitude of the consequences of this hate.

RomanceRe: 'You Weren’t Born Gay' - Former Nigerian Lesbian And Club Girl Says by konfused: 1:49pm On Jun 05, 2017
themonk:
The way people conclude on certain things is disturbing, just because you weren't born gay doesn't mean the next person isn't born gay. maybe your gay activities were influenced by environment but some people were born in such a way they are only attracted to their sex or both sexes. most gays even display characters that suggest this from childhood, some guys that display girl-like characters turn out to be homosexual and same for girls too.

I always tell people if pastors say gays are demon possessed they should go and find gays around the world and cast out those demons or else forever remain silent, it is pathetic that because Nigeria is a over religious country we applaud anti-gay laws. if only you feel the way these people feel, someone denying you the privilege of your sexual orientation and all that. its just like black people centuries ago when whites denied that we are just as human as they are and used this lie to justify slavery and subject us to animal-like conditions. if you feel bad when someone calls you a monkey, you shouldn't relegate gays.

saying nobody is born gay is ridiculous because there are other 1,500 different species that practice homosexuality, can we say they are not born gay too?

PS: i am not gay and i am not anti-gay. i stand for justice for all.
So in essence a child that is stealing from early age should be condoned also because the child was born that way

PaztorAYO:
Sorry, but we CAN'T pull this off. Our native languages are less sophisticated than English, Chinese, Japanese, German, French, Russian, and grossly lacking in Vocabulary. You can be more articulate in these languages than you can ever be in, at least, my own native language which is Yoruba. So, that their languages could translate scientific and mathematical terms from English doesn't automatically imply that the same goes for ours. There is a wild gulf, man. This ridiculous policy can't get us anywhere.
Dude, I believe necessity is the mother of invention. In the 18th century there was no word like "internet'", so I strongly believe the more we use our languages, it will evolve to cover for the lapses you see presently.

PapaBrowne:
Dude it will be no leap for Africa! And let me explain since you appear reasonable.

The number one historical reason for the backwardness of Africa is the multiplicity of languages that existed on the continent. And the reason for that multiplicity of languages is the the thick navigable forests that separated communities. The biggest demerit to the numerous Languages across Africa was our inability to share knowledge. Without the sharing of knowledge, growth would not exist.

Japan has 120 million people speaking Japanese. German, Austria and Switzerland have over 100 million people speaking german. China has 1 billion people speaking Mandarin. And so on and so fault. Now, what would be the benefit of Idoma spoken by just 2 million people? The USA is the greatest country in the world. They all weren't speaking one language when the got there, but today English is the unifying language.

English is now a universal language. Anyone who doesn't speak the language is automatically disadvantaged. Germans , Russians and Japanese are aggressively learning the language!
You have a valid point dude, hmmmmm Never thought towards that direction, but there is one thing I want you to get, our indigenous language will make understanding science from a fundamental aspect possible. Just envision being able to understand the concept of gravity using ur mother tongue. There is a guy on this forum musicwriter, he raised some valid points why our indigenous language shoiuld be used in our schools to teach sciences. If you love to know more, check him out, go to his blog and read some of the articles he has there.

There are bound to be some advantages if this noble idea is implemented.

The senselessness of this administration is beyond normal.
So you teach a child living in Ondo mathematics in Yoruba language and he graduates and can't even get a job in Benin City that is barely 100km away because he can't communicate!!

Even China and Japan as advanced as they are have begun to teach in English in thier universities. In fact the demand for English teachers in these countries is so large that they pay them and provide housing just to make them stay.

We need the sack the old folks sitting in Abuja!
Germans, Russians, Japanese, learn these subjects in their own language. It will be a tremendous leap for Nigeria and Africa if we can implement this strategy.

Your are free to cry about what happened since independence, but you can not excuse 16 years of PDP and the people you voted for to look out for you, thee same people you still call your heroes. They accumulated the largest revenue in the history of Nigeria and left you with nothing, but you still don't want to talk about that because you people are disingenuous and less concerned about anything.

If the FG is marginalizing you by not doing all the rubbish omokri listed, please show us the states where the FG did built new airports, new roads, new bridges and so on.

If the FG neglected your states, they the rest of the country should be crying too because the FG did not do anything for them, they are not sitting on their hands or crying everyday, they are building their own airports, roads and bridges. They are not sitting around claiming victim.

Are you state leaders allergic to doing things on their own?

Are they not collecting taxes and allocations just like other states... ?

You say you are the smartest, you are the riches, you are the most industrious, you own the whole of Lagos and Abuja, but you still cry everyday that you don't have anything so exactly what do you want us to believe?
Dude, can I ask you something personal? Where do you reside? Have you ever been to the SE?

GEJ, PDP and the same omokri obviously hate you and you even hate yourself more for falling for their blame shifting and ignoring the part your own governors are playing when it comes to development.

The only people you should blame are the people you voted for to look after you unless you voted for and follow the PDP for 16 years just for fun and not for them to return the favor in terms of development.

Now that they failed you, they are pointing fingers at a less than 3 year old government as if their own 16 years in power and the largest revenue in the history of Nigeria.

Smaller and even poorer states built their own airport so what's wrong with the supposedly riches, smartest and industrious people in Nigeria building their own?

The only enemies I see are your own leaders and lousy political strategies.

Fayose is not concerned about the allegation that Ifeanyi Ubah diverted petroleum products worth billions of Naira but he's here making noise about a valid court order that says the accused should be held for another 14 days to enable the DSS completes its investigation.

Thousands of poor Nigerians are wallowing in prisons and detention facilities awaiting trial with nobody to speak out for them but once an elite who had committed grievous crimes against the country is arrested, all hell is let loose and attention seekers like Fayose will start ranting about tyranny and injustice.
So according to you, detaining him and not charging him to court is justice.

you arrest an individual on the premise that he committed a crime and you are still going to the court for an order to hold him so as to conclude investigations.....

Hate begets hate.......

But that doesn't solve the problem, the obvious marginalisation of the Igbos is the subject of discourse.

Have you ever travelled from Lagos to the SE, the number of custom officials on that road alone surpasses the number on any road in Nigeriahuh Why is that so......
PoliticsRe: Igbos Are Being Marginalized And This Is Evidence - Reno Omokri. by konfused:
To all and sundry who says Igbos are not marginalised, can you give one tangible reason for the anomaly that Reno pointed out.

It's very obvious, but due to the hatred they have for Igbos, they will say it doesn't matter.....

Sometimes I wonder what is it about the Igbos that makes every other tribe in Nigeria hate them.
When it comes to all ills associated with Nigeria, all other tribes re not exempted, so why the hate.

Name any crime associated with Nigeria, you will not fail to see an individual from every tribe that has been involved one way or the other.

So why always the IGBOS.
