It's very CLEAR that David Hundeyin (who was summarily EXPELLED for financial FRAUD and sexism in early 2024 from Oxford University along with another Nigerian male fraud accomplice) has a deep mental sickness and psychological disorder.

There is absolutely NO drug baron case against Bola Tinubu either from 1993 till date and he has NO criminal record in the United States which he travels to every year with his private jet even before he became the Nigerian President in May 2023, yet you gullible, highly uninformed younger posters and paid ipob troll farms using known and fake NL keep spinning this FAKE story around in your pathetic heads.

Attached right BELOW is the 2003 official letter from Michael H. Bonner, the then Legal Attache of United States Embassy in Lagos debunking the FAKE allegations that Tinubu is wanted for drug crimes in the United States. The FBI National Crime Information Center [NCIC] doesn't contain Bola Ahmed Tinubu's name in it till date and NCIC is the official central database that contains the names of all convicted people in the United States.

Morning sir, once again, good points well made.

Obidients don't care for facts, their pain at President Tinubu defeating Peter Obí is still clearly visible.

For me, the authorities now need to make a proper example of one or two to stop this misinformation overflow.

Get IP information from Seun about the poster, locate them and publicly question them before a stiff sentence is handed down.

By the time they are being rightfully picked up one by one to defend their inane banality, there might be less traffic on here but the quality of discourse would be back to an acceptable standard.
@aswani

Greetings to you again.

I've just read your insightful mention among a few others. I appreciate your suggestions and totally agree that stronger punitive actions are required because Federal Government led by President Tinubu, all the Nigerian State Governors, and the intelligence agencies aren't doing enough to deal with the ipob online troll farms and the deliberate disinformation they are spreading which is the deadliest form of attacks going on against Nigeria as we speak. I apologize for any typographic errors you may have observed in my original post. I was really pissed off with that paid ipob troll and I didn't do proper proof-reading before posting my original message.

Tbh, if this NL website is owned by an Ibo and the President in Nigeria is an Ibo, NO person or NL moniker would have been allowed to openly use these kinds of unacceptable, highly defamatory, toxic hate speech against the President and others. Many well-known NL monikers openly use abusive words against the man who is the current President of Nigeria right under the NL threads created by some identified NL moderators and because they are of the same ethnic origin with the trolls, they don't get banned or penalized. The lapses on this NL discussion forum are horrible and they have to be blocked by the moderators. The responsibilty for reporting these paid Ibo ipob troll farms (for irresponsible disinformation) to the mods shouldn't be left to we the NL users alone because how long are we going to keep doing the same tiring reporting and NOT get the quick solutions (since 2014) to the toxicity and deliberate derailing of threads by ipob here? One of the Princes of the Akenzua royal family and the popular online activist "Wounded Civilians" (who is also a Bini man) have each released terse online video warnings to these toxic Ibo ipob members. I've also seen online videos of angry male and female Esans, Isokos, Urhobos, Ikwerres, Itsekiris, and other Niger Delta ethnic groups who have have also done the same video warnings to ipob in 2024 and 2025 over the asinine plans and several threat videos made by ipob members to forcibly annex their ancestral homelands into a so-called biafra.

It's important to ensure that the Office of the NSA, the DSS and other Intelligence Agencies in Nigeria get to know about what is happening on Nairaland and other online platforms such as YouTube, FB, X, WhatsApp, etc, which are being deliberately used to spread hate speech and FABRICATED news reports against Nigeria, and the toxic, inciting hate speech by these paid Ibo ipob troll farms with the intention to trigger ethnic wars among the different ethnic groups thereby destabilizing Nigeria via a Civil War as reported by the undercover BBC investigative team!

I have attached right BELOW the 2003 official letter from Michael H. Bonner, the then Legal Attache of United States Embassy in Lagos debunking the FAKE allegations that Tinubu is wanted for drug crimes in the United States. PoliticsRe: El-Rufai Will Be Atiku’s Placeholder In SDP If PDP Denies The Ticket - Galadima by Konquest: 2:15am On Apr 13, 2025
TimeManager:
A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Buba Galadima, has alleged that former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, is a placeholder for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ex-presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

Galadima made the revelation during an interview with AIT.

He wondered why Atiku would agree to work with El-Rufai, considering his previous attacks on the Vice President.

Stressing that El-Rufai has no political relevance, Galadima said the intending SDP coalition was ineffective and merely noisemaking.

Galadima said: “Did El-Rufai win one local government in Kaduna in 2020? He was a sitting governor in Kaduna when PDP won all three senatorial elections.

“He was a sitting governor in Kaduna when the PDP won 12 out of 14 House of Reps seats, and they won only one, while the other one was won by the Labour Party. That is, as a sitting governor. Now that he’s out and even fighting the governor from outside, how many votes do you think he can win?”

“The SDP coalition is ineffective; their activities are merely noisemaking. El-Rufai is actually serving as a placeholder for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar within the SDP.”

“I am surprised at Atiku’s willingness to work with El-Rufai. El-Rufai had previously advised Atiku to save his money for his children and declared that Atiku would never become president in Nigeria.”

“The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) would emerge as the larger vehicle to unite opposition parties in the 2027 presidential election.”

Atiku, El-Rufai, and some eminent politicians had announced the birth of a coalition under the SDP.

Following the declaration, a former presidential candidate of SDP, Adewale Adebayo, said Atiku, Peter Obi, and some eminent politicians are in talks to join the party. Adebayo said the coalition would wrest power from President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

TravelRe: Paradox Of The Japa Syndrome On The Nigerian Economy by Konquest: 2:12am On Apr 13, 2025
Raco.on:
In recent times, diaspora remittances to Nigeria have been an important contribution to our foreign exchange earnings. It is no surprise that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 2024 said diaspora remittances to Nigeria reached $4.22 billion from January to October, a 61.1 percent increase from the same period in 2023.

This increase was attributed to improved efficiency in the remittance process, the policies of President Bola Tinubu, and increased confidence in Nigeria’s financial system. It is therefore logical to conclude that the more Nigerians go abroad (Japa), the more remittances the Nigerian economy will get, all things being equal.

Ironically, in the last few years, the Nigerian government has been worried about the mass exodus of skilled and unskilled Nigerians leaving the country for greener pastures elsewhere. Amusingly, the same government also covertly and overtly depends on diaspora remittances and is often worried whenever there is a drop.

Remittances from the Nigerian diaspora are a significant source of foreign exchange for the country and also an important part of Nigeria’s economic recovery. They are a vital source of income for families and a steady inflow into the economy. They also play a significant role in alleviating poverty and improving nutrition and are linked to better outcomes such as higher birth weights and increased school enrolment.

Despite interventions, the rate has not held up to expectations, and according to the CBN, in 2024, Nigeria received an estimated $23.4 billion in remittances from its diaspora community, making it the largest recipient of remittances in Africa and one of the top five globally. The CBN is most likely to continue its interventions after the World Bank predicted that Nigeria will see increased remittances in the years ahead, due to higher food prices.

This can only be true if the planned repatriation of Nigerians by President Donald Trump’s administration and some European governments is not followed through. As diaspora remittances are from both the skilled and unskilled Nigerians who went abroad either legally or illegally.

We are not against the government exploiting the gains from its diaspora population. If anything, we think remittances do help the economy; however, they are not a sustainable strategy for long-term economic growth. Nigeria has an economy that is dominated by consumption rather than production. So, once the remittances are received, they will merely be used to service an import-oriented economy. In other words, the money will simply go back to where it came from.

Nigeria therefore needs to increase production for a sustainable growth in the economy, knowing well that production requires the best in human resources.

A situation where Nigerian leaders take advantage of a condition that is costing its economy more in terms of human capital does not augur well for our future. The energy the government is putting in to attract more remittances could also be used to put the country in a better state that will help reduce the number of young Nigerians the country is losing on a daily basis.

In 2024, the UK granted over 430,000 visas to Nigerian nationals, according to the British High Commissioner. This included visas for study and relocation, a December 2024 report showed. In the year ending June 2024, the UK issued 432,225 student visas, noted GOV.UK, a 13 percent decrease from the previous year, but 61 percent higher than in 2019.

In the first half of 2024, the UK processed over 225,000 visas for Nigerian nationals. The figure above is for the skilled labour, while for the unskilled who use intermediaries, it is not known. For the UK, Nigerian migrants also showed by far the biggest growth among the top five nationalities granted skilled work visas. For every talent that leaves Nigeria, a local business is suffering because it cannot find a suitable replacement on such short notice.

TravelRe: Japa-Da: Nigerians Abroad Return Home Amid Dashed Expectations by Konquest: 1:57am On Apr 13, 2025
dododawa1:
An increasing number of Nigerians who previously migrated in pursuit of better opportunities have started returning home, citing unmet expectations and depression in their host countries.

The development is a reversal of the popular “Japa” trend, which has seen millions of Nigerian youths migrate to Europe, America and Asia in search of better living conditions and job opportunities.

The Japa Trend
In 2023, the International Organisation for Migration reported that approximately 260,000 Nigerians approached them for assistance to migrate, with the United Kingdom being the primary destination of 80 per cent of them. According to the Nigerian Immigration Service, over 3.6 million Nigerians migrated to other countries within two years.

The NIS Migration Information Data Analysis System showed that about 2,115,139 persons emigrated from Nigeria in 2022, while 1,574,357 left the country from January to September 31, 2023, making it a total of 3,679,496 that had left Nigeria within two years.

But now, some of these Nigerians are returning home to rebuild their lives. Some of the returnees who spoke to Saturday PUNCH said life abroad was not as easy as it seemed, and many of the challenges they faced were hidden behind the glamorous images
often shown to others.

"Reality Always Far From Expectations" - Judith Okoli.
A 30-year-old nurse who claimed to have spent two years in the United States, Judith Okoli, said after moving abroad in 2017 for career advancement, the reality of life in the US was far from her expectations.

Okoli, who spoke to one of our correspondents, said despite earning a steady income, the high cost of living, isolation, and racism left her feeling unfulfilled. According to her, she endured “a lonely life.”

Okoli recalled facing discrimination in her professional life and a persistent sense of exclusion that constantly reminded her that she was not part of the system. “You just never feel welcomed, whereas in Nigeria, you feel at home,” she added.

Despite earning a decent income, she explained that the high cost of living in the US left little to show for it. “My rent alone was over $3,000 monthly. By the time you pay for bills, car notes, insurance, and taxes, you begin to wonder, what is the point?”

Driven by a desire to reconnect with her roots, Okoli decided to return to Nigeria in 2019. Her transition was not seamless; early business ventures in beauty and marketing failed, but she eventually found passion in farming.

She said, “Farming became something I could grow and develop. Five years later, I now have a business I can watch over and expand. My side hustle is now my main hustle.”

She urged Nigerians abroad to reconsider making foreign countries their permanent homes. “It should be a temporary place to get what you need and come back to do what you truly want,” she emphasized. “Many have been abroad for 10 years and cannot afford a flight home.”

Okoli noted that with proper planning, a consistent income stream, and a commitment to reinvest at home, returning to Nigeria could bring fulfillment, reconnection with family, and a sense of peace that money can’t buy.

“I planned. I failed. I went back. I re-strategised,” she said. “But now I’m back for good, and this time, I’m doing it right.”

"Mental Health Troubles Made Me Returned Back To Nigeria" - Kenny Igho.

In a TikTok video, Kenny Igho, who recently returned to Nigeria from the United States, said her decision to move back was driven by unhappiness and mental health struggles. Kenny, a mother of two, emphasized that her decision was not impulsive but a gradual realization that she needed a change for her well-being.

She said, “The reason is because I was not happy; I was troubled. I didn’t have peace; I was anxious. Every little thing got me anxious, and I realised I was sliding into a subtle depression, so I’m like, I don’t think I want to do this anymore.

“It wasn’t a spontaneous decision; it was gradual. But at this point, I would say yes, my mind is fully made up. So, am I nervous? No, not anymore. I used to be before I thought of what to do in Nigeria, because going to Nigeria, you have to be sure; it is the truth. You have to know what you want to go and do.

“I have spoken to people. I have told them about wanting to go, and you realize that a lot of people are in your shoes, but the only thing that is stopping them is fear. And for real, I was listening to somebody and he said the barrier between you and your success is fear.”

"I Quit My Job In The US" – Doctor Julius Oni.
Another returnee, Dr Julius Oni, an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, said he quit his job at Johns Hopkins University in the United States and moved back to Nigeria with his family. Oni, in a video on TikTok, disclosed that he returned to Nigeria after spending 25 years in the US to set up a musculoskeletal care facility.

He said, “Six weeks ago, I relocated from the US to Nigeria. I took a leave of absence from my job at Johns Hopkins, sold my house, sold cars, packed my bags alongside my lovely wife and beautiful children and moved after 25 years of living in the USA

“I know at this point, some of you may call me delusional or even crazy, but I’m neither. I’m just a man full of conviction.

“I happen to believe that Nigerian patients deserve great care, too. As part of my mission, I have started DOC Medical Nigeria, which offers high-quality musculoskeletal care to the population. Part of my effort is to provide access to care so that people do not have to travel to access high-quality orthopedic surgery care.”

"My Village People Did Not Force My Return" – Returnee
Another returnee, Summer Aku, revealed the criticism she faced after making her decision to return to Nigeria.

“When I shared my Japada story, some people said my village people had dragged me back to Nigeria. There was nothing people didn’t say,” she recalled. Aku expressed frustration over being questioned about her return to the “land of her ancestors”.

She noted that many Nigerians, especially those who had never lived abroad, often failed to understand such decisions, adding that explaining to them was a waste of time. Now running a short-let/Airbnb business in Nigeria, Aku shared how her guests were often Nigerians returning to bury their loved ones.

“It saddens me that many never saw their parents alive, but come back just to bury them. They always express deep regret. Many people don’t realise this life is not a rehearsal; this is it. There’s no second chance to do most things right,” Aku said.

Despite the challenges in Nigeria, she emphasized the irreplaceable value of home. “It’s unfortunate the problems we have in Nigeria, but truth be told, there is no place like home. Nowhere else allows you to fully be part of family weddings, birthdays, naming ceremonies, and graduations.”

"Nigeria Is Not Too Bad."
Also speaking, a returnee, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said he recently returned from the United Kingdom after spending four years abroad. He said after completing his studies, he wanted to pursue his PhD.

“But combining that with taking care of my children became overwhelming. That was when I began to seriously consider coming back home to Nigeria,” he added. For him, the move abroad was meant to be a temporary step towards financial empowerment and entrepreneurship in Nigeria.

He said since returning home three weeks ago, he had joined his brother in managing a real estate business they had previously co-run while in the UK. “The situation in Nigeria is not too bad. I already had a connection to a business here. Since coming back, I’ve been settling in quite well.”

He attributed the reasons many Nigerians were returning to cultural disconnection, harsh working conditions, emotional stress abroad, and inability to combine work with childcare.

“There are people who are coming back for some other reasons, such as the inability to cope with life over there; some are not so open to change in culture, food, lifestyle, and the weather. The kind of luxury that we enjoy in Nigeria is not over there.

“Emigration comes with a lot of stress; it comes with its problems. Some people do not have adequate information about life out there; they believe it is all rosy.

But unfortunately, it is not; it is a lot of stress. Immigrants do a lot of odd jobs to pay bills, and this takes a toll on their mental health,” he said.

Childcare Support
Another returnee, who identified herself as Ifeoma on TikTok, said she relocated from Canada back to Nigeria with her family due to the difficulty of securing a job and finding adequate childcare support after the birth of her second child.

She said, “I was not working, and it was very frustrating. I was basically relying on the money from childcare and other benefits we could get to survive. My husband worked, but we had to source money from Nigeria to pay most of our bills. You can imagine how crazy that was, and it was hectic.”

Recently, a Nigerian lady, Jenny Jones, shared her decision to relocate to Nigeria after living and working in the US for some time. Having worked in the US for several years, Jones cited burnout and lack of fulfillment as key reasons for her relocation.

“I’m going to Nigeria because I feel I am burnt out in the US and I need a break,” she said, noting that she plans to launch a clothing line in Lagos. For her, the move represents a chance to pursue entrepreneurship and regain control over her mental health.

“No amount of therapy or supplements can fix the constant mental battle if you are living in a place where you do not feel fulfilled. Do you see the glow up on my face just talking about the fact that I’m moving to Nigeria?” she explained.

The Idowu family, who lived in the US for 14 years before returning to Nigeria in 2024, echoed similar sentiments in a video shared on their YouTube channel two months ago.
Despite holding US citizenship, they said rising crime rates, cultural disconnects, and racism led them to leave.

“America is not the way it used to be,” they said. “We wanted our kids to grow up with morals and without the fear of gun violence. The crime rate in America is skyrocketing. Racism is there as well, especially against the blacks. That is why we returned to Nigeria.”

Immigration Lawyers React
Commenting on why some Nigerians were returning home from abroad, an immigration lawyer, Cephas Caleb, said several factors could be responsible for the development, citing “economic, social and other reasons.”

Another immigration lawyer, Innocent Ekpen, noted that President Donald Trump’s actions might have influenced those returning from the US.

He said, “For instance, what President Trump has been doing could be a factor, because he has been sending undocumented immigrants back home, even those that got the document from the Biden administration.”

The spokesperson for the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, said returnees were coming back for “reasons related to economics, emotions, and security.”

I've always known that the British Hollywood star of Nigerian descent, David Oyelowo (who attended Lagos State Model College) has a biological mother from Edo State and NOT Ibo, while his father is from Oyo State. The highly MISLEADING ethnicity given to his biological mother comes from Wikipedia which is highly unreliable and notorious for vandalisms by propagandists and secessionist groups who have posted many FAKE entries (especially in the history and politics sections).

This is the reason why quoting sources from Wikipedia are NOT accepted in the academic world globally. If you are caught, you will be penalized. He is a billionaire, his father was obasanjo pilot for good 8years and have aviation school.
Care MUST be taken in using that word "billionaire" when describing people's net worths any where in the world.

If the young musician isn't listed in the Forbes list of legitimate USD billionaires OR the Bloomberg Billionaires Index as of April 2025, like the ONLY legitimate USD billionaires of Nigerian birth and descent such as: Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Femi Otedola, Adebayo Ogunlesi and Babatope Awotana, etc, then the young man is NOT a "billionaire."

Individual net worths are calculated globally based off of the value in especially USD and NOT Nigerian Naira. Therefore he is at least a USD millionaire or a USD multimillionaire. So, all these random bloggers and YouTubers irresponsibly ascribing "billionaires" to the names of opaque people (with questionable sources of money) is highly misleading and these are NOT billionaires UNLESS they undergo legitimate financial verifications.

Hope that helps.

First off, MOST ethnic groups and cultures worldwide historically marry their own kind and don't like to venture out of their default cultures. Your random 80% figure above makes absolutely NO SENSE! Another random Ibo boy made this same HIGHLY FALSE assertion on an NL thread when this young musician first broke the news of the passing on of his mother in early 2025. Of all the 6 Yoruba people who are highly SUCCESSFUL and who have ever been listed on the Forbes list of legitimate USD billionaires OR the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, NON of the 5 Yoruba males (Dr. Mike Adenuga, Adebayo Ogunlesi from Sagamu in Ogun, Femi Otedola from Epe in Lagos, Tope Awotona of Calendly, Wemimo Abbey of Esusu Financial) and 1 female (Mrs. Folorunso Alakija from Ikorodu in Lagos) has any Ibo biological mother... NONE!

For the records, CLEAR statistics from many decades indicate that slightly over 90% OR 9 out of 10 Yoruba men get married to Yoruba ladies. The other 1 out of 10 get married to women outside their ethnicity especially women from ethnicities in Edo and Delta States (Esan, BinI, Etsako, Urhobo, Isoko... including Anioma ladies and even Onitsha. From the Middle Belt, Yoruba men marry Ebira, Igala, Nupe, and more) OR if the Yoruba men live in the Diaspora, they simply get married to Yoruba ladies living in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, etc, OR any foreign women in those countries. seunmsg:
I think Buhari was confused about his choice of successor. He did not want Tinubu quite alright but he never had a clear favorite. Few days to the primary, he narrowed his choice down to Ahmed Lawan but it was a hard sell. He couldn’t come out to mobilize for him for obvious reasons. A northern president mobilizing for a northern candidate to succeed him after 8 years would have killed the party.

Osinbajo was more like a second option.
Sadly, supporting an Osinbajo who was not even his first choice against a benefactor like Bola Tinubu was too much trouble. He doesn’t have the strength to manage the fallout.

Tinubu read Buhari’s situation and played his cards well. While publicly asking for Buhari’s support, he knew he was never going to get it. Instead, he kept mobilizing party members while putting pressure on Buhari to stay neutral. The Abeokuta outburst was a game changer. Stay neutral or we scatter everything. The primary came and Tinubu won easily.

However, Buhari and his goons were not done. They had a last joker for the election. Atiku Abubakar. To them, Atiku was a better option than Tinubu. However, campaigning for him publicly was impossible. So they came up with Naira redesign and other policies to make APC look bad.

Buhari’s last move was predictable so Tinubu already had a strategy in place. Peter Obi. Peter Obi was an unusual candidate in the election. He became a force with huge financial backing just few months to the election. Tinubu’s team poured huge money into Obi’s campaign without Obi knowing he’s being used. Tinubu also bought a lot of the APC governors. Peter Obi and the APC governors effectively checkmated Buhari and Atiku. The rest is history.

A former Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu, has claimed that former President Muhammadu Buhari never supported the presidential ambition of his then Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

Ojudu also said Buhari did not back the current President, Bola Tinubu, despite their friendship and political alliance, but that Tinubu “outmaneuvered him in several ways.”

He spoke during his appearance on Edmund Obilo’s State Affairs podcast on Monday.

Ojudu, who served in the office of former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, also said his former principal could have performed significantly better than the current president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Recall that during the APC primary prior to the 2023 elections, Bola Tinubu secured 1,271 votes to clinch the party’s presidential ticket, while former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi garnered 316 votes. Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo got 235 votes, finishing third, while Senate President Ahmed Lawan got 152 votes.

Ojudu said, “I knew Osinbajo was going to lose the primary, I saw it coming. Because of the system we operated and still operating, I kept saying at our meeting that all of the efforts we are making like traveling around, convincing people, and addressing delegates is only 40 percent.

“60 percent of it lies in Buhari’s hands unless and until Buhari mobilises people around him, the governors, his aides, we are going nowhere.

“I used to refer to Buhari as one-man majority and he never mobilised his team towards Osinbajo and I think Tinubu outsmarted him in so many different ways.”

Speaking further, he likened the failure to elect Professor Yemi Osinbajo during the last presidential election to missing a second chance at the leadership of Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

“Osinbajo would have been good for this country. For me, it is like losing Awolowo for a second time because he was at Awolowo’s level in terms of capacity, ability, dedication and commitment.

A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Buba Galadima, has accused ex-President Muhammadu Buhari of not wanting President Bola Tinubu to succeed him.

Galadima also stated that Buhari caused a sub committee to be formed to review the All Progressives Congress, APC, constitution so that he wouldn’t be a member of the Board of Trustees of the party.

In an interview, Galadima claimed that Tinubu then saw through the plan of Buhari and didn’t implement the history directive.

According to the NNPP chieftain, it was open that Buhari never wanted Tinubu to succeed him.

He claimed that Tinubu himself was aware of Buhari’s antics but him being magnanimous as a statesman did not want to talk about it.

He said: “Let me tell you what Tinubu did to me. In APC constitution, the secretaries of the parties, CPC, ACN, merging should be members of the BOTs, National Working Committee, NWC, because of the institutional memory.

“When Buhari saw me, he said he didn’t want to see me anywhere. He now caused a sub committee to be formed to reinvigorate the constitution. He appointed President Bola Tinubu as the chairman of that committee.

“Tinubu saw into what Buhari was trying to do. As I speak to you, the committee has not sat, it hasn’t submitted any report, and the constitution has not been amended. And that was part of why even Buhari never wanted him to be the president – because he refused to take me out.

“For the past 12 years, the BOT of All Progressives Congress, APC, hasn’t sat. And NWC only sat two or three times during the administration of Buhari. They never wanted to see me, that’s why I left.

When asked again about Buhari not wanting Tinubu to succeed him, he said, “Is there anybody who doesn’t know? Tinubu himself knows. Because he’s being magnanimous as a statesman, he doesn’t want to say his mind.”

@GloriousGbola

Your insights here are spot on.

The EARLY warning CCTV systems for deterring and aiding the quick arrest of these highly irresponsible car parts criminals that I refered to right in my post ABOVE are AI-based Smart CCTVs and they already exist in the retail space.

Indeed, I'm aware of some of the vehicle vandalisms you're referring that have taken place within some gated elite estates in the Omole area of Ikeja and all over Lagos State over the years and some of these criminals who were of South East of Nigeria ethnic origin were caught in the act of stealing the brain boxes, side mirrors, tail lights, and more of vehicles after using spare keys (or master keys) to gain forceful entry into popular car brands such as Toyota for resale to the criminal spare parts dealers at Ladipo Auto Spare Parts Market in Mushin, Lagos State. That's how highly insidious these creeps can be.
Even right within some event centers and car parks, some car thieves and car parts thieves have gained entry into parked vehicles.

Another criminal, Ogbonna Eze was seen in CCTV footages removing the side mirror of parked Lexus jeep in a gated estate in Lagos State and he escaped on his delivery motorbike. Watch the "Omo ale" in action the CCTV footage video posted on Instagram BELOW. He was later caught by the Police.

So, it's very CLEAR now that having just basic CCTV cameras alone isn't enough to deter these creeps, BUT installing advanced or smart motion-sensitive, AI-based CCTV security devices in our premises and AI-based security devices in our cars to make a loud sounds and/or discreetly send messages to the car owners who will then eventually ALERT the central gated estate security and the nearest Police Command for prompt attention.

RomanceRe: Lagos Gyms Turning To Hookup Spots by Konquest: 12:48am On Apr 12, 2025
Great100000:
The fitness culture has taken Nigeria by storm, and while fitness centres provide a space for enthusiasts to improve their physical health and well-being, concerns are, however, being raised about these centres becoming hotspots for romantic encounters.

In separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos, some gym-goers said that the fitness culture had evolved into something more complex than just a space for physical exercise.

Mr Folarin Adekoya, a gym-goer in Ikeja area of the state, said that some enthusiasts seem more focused on socialising and taking photographs for social media than engaging in actual workouts.

“Some women are seen wearing revealing and provocative gym outfits, which leads to questioning the motivations behind their choice of clothing.

“But it’s not just the clothing that’s causing a stir. Some gym-goers use these spaces to hook up with romantic partners.

“I’ve seen women wearing gym outfits that are quite revealing; it can be distracting, especially when you’re trying to focus on your workout,” Adekoya said.

Also, Jason Onwuka, a regular gym-goer in the Festac area of the state, shared his perspectives on the evolving balance between staying fit, distractions, and the growing influence of social media.

“I prefer going to the gym to work out because I’m more motivated there, but I have seen people meeting up at the gym, and it’s clear that they’re not there to work out.

“They’ll spend hours talking and laughing together, and it’s just not what the gym is meant for.

“As society becomes increasingly individualised, people are looking for new ways to connect with others.

“The gym has become a space where people can meet new friends, find romantic partners, and feel a sense of community,” he said.

Onwuka noted that while the gym had become increasingly popular, with more social interactions, it was up to individuals to remain focused on their goals.

“Whatever it is you do, there will always be distractions. If you go to the gym with a clear goal to train and focus on your workout, it’s up to you whether you allow distractions to affect you.”

He also observed that the professional women who come to the gym are more focused on their workouts and do not dress provocatively.

“They wear comfortable leggings or tights that are easy to work out in,” he said.

Recently, a former Big Brother Naija star, Teddy A, weighed in on the issue of indecent dressing at the gym.

In a video posted on his social media page, Teddy A expressed displeasure over the trend, stressing the importance of covering sensitive body parts during workouts.

“I’m not trying to be insensitive, but we don’t want them to start banning girls from the gym because of indecent dressing,” he said.

Teddy A’s comments sparked a heated debate on social media, with some arguing that gyms should enforce stricter dress codes, while others saw it as an overreaction.

A manager at a popular fitness centre in the Ajah area of the state, who pleaded anonymity, told NAN that they have had to implement rules about appropriate clothing and behaviour in the gym.

“We want to create a welcoming and respectful environment for all our members.

“But despite the efforts of the management, the trend shows no signs of slowing down.

“People are using the gym as a way to meet new people and have fun, and as long as they’re not disrupting someone else’s workout, I don’t see the harm,” he said. (NAN)Source: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/04/lagos-gyms-turning-to-hookup-spots-visitors/

Glimpsetv:
A Nigerian man has expressed shock at the unusually empty state of ShopRite at Silverbird on a Saturday afternoon. He didn’t expect the mall to be so deserted, with only a few shoppers trickling in. This, he says, raises serious concerns about the true condition of the Nigerian economy.
He noted that Saturday afternoons are typically when families flock to malls to shop.

However, due to the current economic situation in the country, only one till was operating out of several available in the mall. He pointed out that this stark emptiness reflects the harsh reality of the economy, as many people can no longer afford the basic items they once eagerly came to buy.

The video capturing this scene has since gone viral, sparking widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing deep concern over the state of the economy.

The Lagos Green Line Rail Project, part of Mr. President’s Renewed Hope Mega-Cities Light Rail Project, continues its journey towards full realisation with a number of milestones met.

It will have 10 stations. These stations will be located at: Marina, Victoria Island, Lekki 1, Ajah, Lekki 2, Ogombo, Elepetu, Eluju, Lekki Airport, and Lekki Free Trade Zone.

In the joint presentation of the progress report and current status by the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) and the Chinese Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) to the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, the milestones already met were outlined, while the next steps were clearly laid out.

So far, some of the project’s progress highlights include:

1. Completion of the Tripartite MOU signing by MOFI, Lagos State Government, and CHEC (2024).

2. Completion of site investigation, data analysis, and research work by the CHEC team (2024).

3. Completion of the Feasibility Study Report (2024).

4. Completion of MOFI’s application to include the project in the Federal Government’s 2025 borrowing plan (2024).

5. Inclusion of the project in the 2025 Federal Budget, with approval of NGN 196 billion (2025).

6. Preliminary approval granted for the Feasibility Study Report by MOFI and the Lagos State Government (2025).

The Lagos Green Light Rail Project will be an estimated 69.7 km metro rail route that will run between the Lekki Free Trade Zone and Marina, with a direct link and station at the proposed Lekki International Airport. The Green Line is a crucial component of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) network, which is part of the Strategic Transport Master Plan (STMP) for Lagos State. It is also part of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit that includes six (6) rail lines and one (1) monorail.

As part of the Renewed Hope Mega-Cities Light Rail Project, it will form part of strategic modern national rail infrastructure investments that will help propel Nigeria’s economic growth through the facilitation of ease of movement of people and goods across the country.

We are grateful to Mr. President for his rail modernization initiative, as part of his broader transportation modernization vision, particularly as this serves as a vehicle for economic transformation.

PoliticsRe: 36 Govs Sign Mou With Energy China To Drive Electricity Reform by Konquest: 12:39am On Apr 12, 2025
TimeManager:
In an apparent move to boost state energy planning within the States of the Federation, governors, on Thursday, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Energy China.

Energy China is a major Chinese company known for renewable energy and gas production in China.

Speaking on behalf of the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), the governor of Gombe State who doubles as the chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya, said that the MoU and the ensuing relationship between the organisations will signal a critical step in strengthening the institutional framework for sub-national energy governance through fostering energy security, efficiency, and economic development across the States.

According to the Gombe State governor, ”It is crucial to acknowledge the transformative journey that Nigeria is embarking upon in the area of access to sustainable electricity which includes renewable energy, particularly in the wake of the recently passed Electricity Act of 2023.

”This groundbreaking legislation marked a pivotal moment for our energy landscape, introducing innovative structures that aim to boost investments and enhance the reliability of power supply across the country.
Since the passing of the Electricity Act, we have witnessed a surge of innovations and reforms aimed at revamping our energy sector.

”We are moving towards more decentralized energy solutions, encouraging the integration of renewable energy solutions that can provide sustainable and affordable electricity to our communities.

”The Act has also laid the groundwork for improving regulatory frameworks, enabling private sector investments, and fostering public-private partnerships, a vital component for the successful implementation of our renewable energy goals.”

However, he noted that, ”we must acknowledge that these advances come with their own set of challenges. Shortfalls in infrastructure, financing, and regulatory hurdles continue to impede progress. We must address these issues collaboratively.

”By fostering partnerships between the government, private investors, and international stakeholders, we can develop innovative financing models, improve capacity building, and enhance grid infrastructure to accommodate renewable energy sources effectively.

”In this context, I want to highlight some of the ongoing reforms within states in Nigeria as they pursue ambitious but worthwhile and achievable energy initiatives. States are crafting tailored policies that align with national objectives while addressing local needs. They are also establishing frameworks and instituting regulatory bodies to drive the electricity markets within their localities. These reforms are crucial as they leverage our unique resources and provide flexibility to implement localized solar solutions.

”The synergy between state and federal initiatives will be key to driving effective change and achieving our collective renewable energy targets. The NGF has a vibrant Power Desk which has played and continues to play a coordinating role in the efforts of the States as they strive to implement the Electricity Act. The Forum offers a one-stop platform in providing support to the States as they grapple with the enormous responsibility placed on their shoulders by the Electricity Act.

”We believe that this relationship with the China Energy International Group will foster a robust development in the acceleration of energy access in the country and the NGF would use its best endeavours in supporting these efforts.”

Also, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, explained the MoU, saying, ”This collaboration supports the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This partnership reflects our shared ambition to expand access to clean energy, strengthen energy planning at the state level, and promote sustainable technologies all in alignment with our National Energy Masterplan and national development goals.”

According to the Minister, ”The scope of this MoU includes: Deployment of renewable energy infrastructure (solar, wind, hydro), and
Establishment of a Nigeria-China Renewable Energy Research Centre to drive innovation, technology transfer, and capacity-building.
https://leadership.ng/36-govs-sign-mou-with-energy-china-to-drive-electricity-reform/
That's impressive!

The State Governors are beginning to strike the right cord. Without sustainable electricity generation, there will be NO sustainable economic growth and development.

The President Tinubu administration has under the Electricity Act rightly granted all the States to the latitude to generate their own independent electricity generation needs which Lagos State tried to do back in the early 2000s in partnership with ENRON under the then Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos State
BUT Obasanjo's irritable government scuttled that project just the same way he seized Lagos State's Federal monthly allocations simply because Lagos State wasn't a PDP-governed State!
