First, you decide how you want to start – small, medium or large scale. For small and medium scale, you can start anywhere, anytime with a little amount of money. You will sweat a bit, though, because of the manual nature of the work involved. This is usually not a big deal for the hardworking entrepreneur. To start big scale, some machinery is required. You can get a sense of the type of machines, and what they cost, from grain-processing.org.
Basically, there are 3 stages in bean flour production:
Pre-Processing: This involves getting raw materials (bean seeds) to start with. Brown and white Beans which are the main raw materials for beans flour are mostly available and grown in the northern parts of Nigeria. You need to make sure that the varieties you use are strong and free from weevils infestation.
Processing: The difference between making bean flour and preparing bean seeds for immediate use is drying. Processing involves sorting (removing the stones and chaff), dehulling (removing the outer layer), drying, milling and sifting.
Packaging: How you package is entirely up to you. The more creative your branding and packaging, the better. Google ‘bean flour’ and see some of the ways other brands are packaged, then improve on that to create your unique brand.[/b]
Most farm produce can be eaten in different ways thus making it very exciting and pleasurable. Processing of foodstuffs makes it possible to have it in different forms thus avoiding boredom experienced from eating a particular kind of food. Processing involves lots of investment in processing equipments but can be started on a small scale. The focus of this publication is on mini processing of beans to produce beans flour that can be used as moimoi or beans cake and also packaging for commercial consumption. If you’re reading this article you may have interest in establishing a mini beans processing plant. Below are some of the steps: Step 1
Source for suppliers: When considering food processing business, the major task is sourcing for reliable suppliers that offers reasonable and competitive price. Suppliers for beans varieties (white and brown) can be sourced from the northern part of the country Nigeria mainly Sokoto and Kebbi state. Step 2
Sort and Clean: Now you have a small factory either rented or owned, all necessary requirements by the government and other legal authorities have been satisfied and suppliers have supplied the specified quantity; the next line of action is to sort and clean the beans to remove stones and other seeds. beans sorting
The above machine is currently costed 10,000 USD approximately 2million Naira as at the time this publication but this can be fabricated locally.
At this stage, one can think of packaging the sorted beans for commercialization… i.e. sell to restaurant, hotels, multinational companies, homes etc, but if you want to further process it into more useful form, you can proceed with the below steps. Step 3
Peel beans: Peel the beans by moderately sprinkling them with water to ease the dehulling process. This can be done using beans peeler either imported or locally fabricated.
As at the time of this publication, the cost is 5000 USD approximately 1million Naira (landing cost is not inclusive). Step 4
Dry/Grind: Here, the dehulled beans is moved into the milling machine which produces a low heat environment that would dry the beans(so as to retain and maintain the nutrients) before milling into flour.
The price for this milling machine is 20,000USD approximately 4million Naira as at the time of this publication. There are alternative sources of machines that will fall within your budget if you want to start this business… one good thing about this machines are their multifunctional capabilities. You can mill every other thing in future as you start such as rice, plantain, soya beans etc. Step 5
Packaging: This is final stage. Packaging plays an important role in marketing of the products, therefore, should be given a serious attention. I always advocate that entrepreneurs employ the services of a professional when it comes to packaging. Your packaging as an entrepreneur will determine the way your products will be addressed, your customers may not see or know where your factory is and how big or small it is but your packaging can tell more about your business.
The cost of this machine ranges from 12,000USD to 80,000USD approximately 2.4million to 16million Naira. There are also alternative to this for young entrepreneurs that might want to venture into this business, you can get a local fabricated shrink machine within your budget and expand into automatic machines in the future. Step 6
Marketing: Marketing food stuff is the easiest thing anyone would think of because everyone eats on daily basis. All you need to do is to look for salespeople either internally recruited or outsourced who will search for the wholesalers in major markets and introduce the new products to them with bonuses. You can also consider television ad or bill board to create product awareness or as a young entrepreneur with little budget for marketing, you can leverage on social media and context marketing.
However, there are other things you may want to consider before commercialization such as NAFDAC registration and approval ; full scaleyou can read it up here. This is a very important and fundamental prerequisite even before youfull-scaleproduction.
DoWhatThouWilt: The National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, has suggested that President Bola Tinubu and his administration inherited an extremely bad government, particularly insecurity.
Ribadu stated this on Tuesday when he visited Benue State to commiserate with the government and the people over the killing of over 72 people by terrorists masquerading as herdsmen.
The NSA, who condemned the killings, urged the people of Benue to give Tinubu government a chance and stop politicizing the killings.
According to him, this will help the federal government to restore peace in the state.
“Our Armed Forces are doing well. It is impossible to post soldiers or police to every hamlet. Give us a chance and stop politicizing the killings. This will help us to restore peace. Issue of security is relative,” Ribadu said.
“We inherited an extremely bad government and things have improved and we will address all these issues cropping up.
“It is a matter of time, to do the harm is easy but to solve it is difficult. We have reduced considerably the number of violence we met. This one too, we will confront it,” he added.
In his response, Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia said it was a sober moment for the state as it has come under intense siege with loss of lives of unimaginable figure since 2011.
DAILY POST reports that there has been a surge in attacks and killings in Benue and Plateau States in the last two weeks.
Just barely a week after suspected armed herders massacred over 50 farmers in parts of Benue State, fresh violence erupted in the early hours of Tuesday.
Chucks13: Baba we are tired of all these opened door and closed door meeting that was all Gej did for 6 years and nothing to show, Buhari did it for 8 years nothing to show and now it has started, sir stop it and change your security chiefs you can not use fulani to Fulani. Thanks.
Absolutely well said.
You are the ONLY one that made the MOST sense here. Others are just largely clueless, rambling on and cursing WITHOUT offering functional solutions or hitting the nail on the head.
I stated the same thing on this same thread page and you are stating the same thing to too.
Nuhu Ribadu is a Fulani from Adamawa State just like the foreign Fulani herdsmen from West African countries and criminals who have invaded indigenous Nigerian communities (since the early 2000s when former President Obasanjo was the President till former President Buhari, and now), taken over indigenous lands, and renamed these indigenous Nigerian communities to Fula names in parts of Kaduna, Benue, Plateau, Zamfara, and other areas of Hausaland. The Fulahs are a minority, so what is the problem with Nigeria quickly solving this problem that prevents indigenous farmers from going to their farms?
Nuhu Ribadu should NOT be totally relied upon here because he would likely minimize the terror his foreign West African kinsmen are causing. BUT Tinubu has to get his real security briefs from other intelligence sources and highly intelligent people such as Babajide Kolade-Otitoju of TVC who has called these Fula bandits and their modus operandi out on Journalists Hangout. Past and recent episodes of his accurate opinions are on YouTube. TVC is owned by President Tinubu himself so he has a lot of Intel resources at his disposal to assist these States to solve the problem once and for all.
Those State Governors also have to purchase their own surveillance drones and buy AK 47s to match the firepower of the foreign bandits while being monitored from a central security command of the DSS to ensure the professional use of the newly acquired weapons. Period.
PRESIDENT TINUBU ISSUES NEW DIRECTIVES ON SECURITY, SAYS "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"
President Bola Tinubu has directed an immediate and comprehensive overhaul of national security strategies, demanding urgent action to end the escalating violence in Borno, Benue, Plateau and Kwara states.
The President, who met with security chiefs at the State House in Abuja for more than two hours, said the killing of innocent people in Borno, Benue and Plateau States must cease.
"Enough is enough," President Tinubu declared as he once again condemned the senseless targeting of innocent Nigerians.
The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, told newsmen that the service chiefs briefed the President on all the attacks in the states, the death toll, and the destruction of properties.
The NSA said President Tinubu ordered a new approach to tackling the insecurity problems.
Ribadu noted that President Tinubu was also actively monitoring and giving instructions during his work visit to Paris and London.
"Mr President gave us the chance to come and brief him again. It lasted very long. We gave him an update on what was going on.
"Even when he was out there, he was constantly in touch, giving directives and following developments.
"Today, we had the opportunity to come and brief him again, and it lasted hours. It was a very detailed briefing, and it was exhaustive.
"We listened, and we took instructions from him. He gave us new directives. The fact is that Mr President is insisting that we work harder to restore security in the country.
"We gave him information on what has been happening and assured him of our commitment.
"We had carried out his instructions. We went to places with incidences of insecurity, such as Plateau, Benue, and Borno States.
"We went to those particular three states. We gave him feedback because he had directed us earlier to go and meet with the political authorities there," he added.
The NSA said the President highlighted the need to involve the local councils and state governments more in tackling insecurity cases.
"The issue of insecurity often is not just at the higher levels. It involves the subunits. They are the ones who are directly with the people, especially when some of the challenges border on community problems.
"We need to work with the communities. We need to work with the local governments, and we need to work with the governors.
"The President directed that we work more with governors," he said.
Ribadu noted that the President was "very worried and concerned" at the meeting.
"He said, 'Enough is enough'. We are working to ensure that we restore peace and security. We were all at the meeting with the President, armed forces, police, and intelligence community."
The NSA said the attackers usually target innocent citizens by planting Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and targeting ungoverned areas.
Surveillance drones and attack drones with boots on the ground are needed to finally kick out all the foreign Fulani herdsmen who have brazenly taken over and RENAMED indigenous communities in Plateau, Benue, and in Hausaland using AK-47s and RPGs. These are Fulahs invaders from the Sahelian parts of West Africa such as Mali, Niger, Cameroon, etc.
Nuhu Ribadu is a Fulah himself and would probably NOT want to give the full details about what his foreign Fulani are doing to Tinubu. President Tinubu has to get the right security information from the Governors, the indigenous communities and the intelligence agencies to totally end the many decades long foreign Fulah invasions of Nigerian communities and an end must be put to open grazing of cattle under the ECOWAS free movement which is the excuse these Fulahs use to get into Nigeria. Enough is Enough.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, got married to his wife Priscilla Chan, a Buddhist in 2012. Mark is a free thinker and has identified as an atheist in the past. He had a simple wedding and his wife was dressed in a decent white gown.
Priscilla Ojo(Christian) and hubby,Juma Jux( Muslim) had a talk of the town, expensive and lavish wedding . The Christian sister wore a gown which showed too much of her cleavage and parts of her br£asts. The Muslim brother wore ear rings. A high ranking Pastor overlooked all and officiated the wedding.

I see. The mass hypocrisy (in terms of value systems) of those who claim to be Muslims and Christians over people of other world faiths and beliefs (such as Buddhists and those who don't follow the traditional Orthodox religions) is what you are referencing here.

I want to thank you for your continued feedback and patience as we tackle the crisis caused by our decision to use the antispam bot to enforce more rules on Nairaland. While the action helped us to tackle many chronic issues, it also led to disastrous ban of hundreds of innocent Nairalanders. To significantly improve accuracy and reduce frustrating errors, we have refocused the bot's tasks. It will avoid moderating complex issues that require human nuance that it cannot reliably provide.
While we work on further improvements, here are some tips to ensure your posts don't accidentally trigger the bot under its current, focused mandate:
- Keep your posts related to the thread topic. - You can disagree strongly with fellow Nairalanders, but do not insult them. - Don't put any type of obscene content on Nairaland. - Do not encourage or call for violence against anyone. - Don't spam or try to scam Nairalanders. We will not tolerate this. - Don't illegally upload or post links to illegally download copyrighted music, movies, games, or software.
We believe these changes are a significant step towards a better balance – tackling clear violations more effectively while minimizing the frustration caused by bot errors on complex social issues. We will continue to monitor the bot's performance closely.
Thank you for being part of the Nairaland community.
Best Regards, Seun Osewa.
@Seun
I must commend you for trying to make the effort to bring some level of sanity on this website which I have used since 2005.
NOW, you have to quickly ensure an absolute BAN on all those "young paid troll farms" who have been deliberately and relentlessly referring FALSELY to President Bola Tinubu on a lot of NL threads as a "drug lord, drug baron, druggie, Iragbiji drug lord, Pablo, Escobar," etc. These are highly defamatory and an insult to those of us who stand for justice. I still saw one troll insulting Tinubu with that FALSE term "drug lord" in his post a few minutes ago.
In 2003, the United States Embassy in Lagos State through the Legal Attache of the Embassy CLEARLY stated in an official document attached right BELOW that Tinubu has NEVER been a convicted criminal in the FBI official central database of ALL the convicted criminals in United States' history.

Akara (Kosai) is one of the popular street foods sold by the roadside traders in the morning and during the evening hours alongside with fried yam, potato chips and plantain chips. The common ways to enjoy akara balls is to pair with custard, pap (ogi), and agege bread; most times, we even enjoy akara with some spicy pepper sauce. This simple breakfast recipe is really tasty, filling and most times crunchy depending on how you prepare the beans paste, It is a complete protein which you need to include in your breakfast menu.
ingredients for making Akara
1. 1-2 cups of beans 2. 3 chili peppers (Shombo) or (Ata roda) 3. 1 large onion 4. 1 stick spring onions, optional 5. Salt to taste 6. Cooking oil for frying
Steps on how to fry akara
1. Measure beans into a bowl; add cold water to cover the beans. Leave the beans to rest for an hour to soak up the liquid and become soft. Now, with a little pressure rub the beans against your palms to peel the skin until they begin to separate from the beans.
2. Add water to cover the beans, the skin will float to the surface of the water; pass the skin over a colander to strain. Repeat the same process until the bean skin is all peeled and you are left with clean beans. Rinse the beans with clean water and place in a blender; add some chopped onion and pepper.
3. Add about 4 tablespoons of water to the beans and blend until the paste turns out very smooth. Don’t blend your beans with a lot of water, the paste should be thick.
5. Once the paste has been made, you now need to start frying the akara. Add some chopped onions, spring onions, salt to the beans paste and stir well to incorporate air.
6. Add oil deep enough (about 3 inches deep) to the pan and allow to get heated. Use a spoon to scoop the bean paste to the oil a little at a time.
7. Fry the paste on one side for about 3 minutes, once the downward sides are golden brown, flip over to the other side fry as well for few minutes
8. When all the akara in the oil are completely brown, use a slotted spoon to take them out of the oil and drain on paper towel. Serve akara balls with custard, pap or with pepper sauce.
It has a low Glycemic Index (GI) of less than 55, therefore it's recommended among the top meals for pre-diabetes and diabetes management just like peanut butter and the peanuts it's made from. Any food with a GI of 70 and above releases glucose into the bloodstream rapidly and hence are to be avoided a much as possible to prevent blindness, kidney failure, nerve damage, etc, which are direct dangerous offshoots of diabetes if NOT well managed with a healthy diet and medication.
Ruben Abati, a Nigerian journalist, politician, TV presenter and newspaper columnist has urged the ruling All Progressives Congress to be concerned about the statement from Baba Ahmed regarding the North ahead of 2027 general elections.
The arrow heads of this "North" are Fulani politicians who are desperately trying to divert attention from the real issues of the notorious Fulani herdsmen banditry by forming coalitions. The Fulanis are a minority ethnicity in Nigeria (of NOT more than 24 million in the entire West African countries they claim they are found). The Fulahs are just hiding under the much larger Hausa population of Nigeria to give themselves that overbloated sense of ego.
Even the Hausa people (both male and female) are openly making videos and uploading them online condemning the foreign Fulani invaders with RPGs, and assault weapons, etc, from other Sahelian countries who have been killing and their indigenous Hausa people (in Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, etc), who number over 70 million in Nigeria and Niger Republic alone while stealing and occupying their ancestral homelands and farms so which North are these creeps talking about?
The Middle Belt States of Kaduna, Benue, Plateau, Taraba, Adamawa, Kogi, Niger, etc, have ALSO come under massive killings by Fulani bandits for years since the days of Olusegun Obasanjo, to Umaru Yar' Adua, to Goodluck Jonathan to Muhammadu Buhari, and still happening under the Tinubu Presidency. So, I ask again, which North are the descendants of these foreign minority ethnic Fulani jihadist invaders of modern Nigeria Hausaland from modern Niger Republic, Mali and the Futa Jalon/Futa Toro areas in 1803 talking about here?
It's time to reign in the Fulani irredendists and minority politicians now otherwise Nigeria will NEVER know peace because they will continue to entrench their own insidious political hegemony (while protecting their killer Fulani herdsmen cousins from judicial prosecution like El-Rufai did in Kaduna by paying money to the foreign Fulani killer herdmen) on other Nigerians who have much larger populations than them through subterfuge and the current coalition movement going on right now in Nigeria is largely fueled by Fulani political subterfuge disguised as concern for Nigeria and the so-called North which NO longer exists. Be wise in observing the unfolding situation. Period.
There's a heirachy of job descriptions in political governance including security provision. The outbursts by some highly uninformed citizens (and the rabid fifth columnists in politics seeking to destabilize Nigeria for cheap political gains and to further keep Nigeria down in an insidious plot by recognized Fulani politicians from Atiku, to Nasir El-Rufai, to the Baba Ahmed's and more who are desperately hiding under the so-called "one North" which is clearly NOT a monolithic entity anymore like it was in the 1950s and 1960s) CLEARLY shows that a lot of Nigerians online and offline are functional illiterates (who don't know their rights as citizens) that have to be urgently properly educated via public and private mass media programs and the different duties of each political positions from the roles of State Governors, Local Governments, Senators, Presidents, Vice Presidents, Federal and States House of Representatives members. All these job descriptions MUST be held accountable for different roles instead of the guilt tripping of just one man who is the President for everything. That's how social, economic and security problems get solved quickly.

On Tuesday, 12 October 2021, Senator Natasha Akpoti alleged that former Presidential spokesman Reno Omokri had sexually harassed her on 6 May 2014 during a state banquet for Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In response, Mr Omokri, known for his meticulous record-keeping, announced a $50,000 reward for anyone who could provide a photograph or video of him at the Uhuru Kenyatta banquet.
Mr Omokri thereafter provided evidence in the form of a British Airways ticket and Nigerian and American immigration stamps on his passport, proving he was not in the country during the event.
In fact, at the date and time when Senator Akpoti had alleged that he sexually harassed her, Mr Omokri was in the United States as a personal envoy of then President Jonathan, who sent him to the US to counter the negative publicity arising from the Chibok kidnapping. While in the US, Omokri met and was photographed with State Department officials.
Obavoh: All thanks to God I was able to get a good job after I moved out.
I am now earning nothing less than ₦150,000 monthly. I can buy what I want and eat well now. I have gotten a place for my wife and children to stay. We are now living happily together.
Obavoh: This was the biggest mistake of my life. We had no money and we had to depend on her parents for everything.
I received direct and indirect insults from her father, mother and even the last born of their household.
It got so bad that one day her mother served us soup and as we were eating, she dipped hand into my soup and took out the piece of fish inside and claimed she mistakenly added it to my plate. I cried that night.
I would work morning to evening on her father’s farm without pay. I swallowed everything with hopes that I will find a job and move us out.
Few weeks after we moved in, My wife started behaving funny. She would ask me for money to buy things which she knew i did not have.
When I told her I don’t have she would start quarreling with me. This is something that never happened under my roof.
Her mother began to control her. Since we moved into her parents house she never allowed me to touch her. I became so frustrated that I wanted to use the small money I had to rent a short time hotel for us so we could spend time together as husband and wife.
My Wife cried and accused me of wayward lifestyle. She reported me to her mother and they held a family meeting for me.
I became ashamed for lack of privacy and watching my life waste away. I finally packed my things and left. My wife or her family did not even beg me to stay.
DesChyko: Like I said, we don't bother with your lies anymore. Took approximately 12 seconds to burst your bullshit claim after pasting your information on Grok. It is clear there has been no updated payments for Q1 2025, and we're in April already. There's an increase in both domestic and foreign debts from 2023 when the administration came onboard.
If you want to share propaganda, at least, update DMO/NBS first. They are the only consistent data source for Nigeria debt as far as Nigeria is concerned.
femisplash: The Presidency has said Nigeria is on a firmer path to economic recovery and prosperity under President Bola Tinubu, citing significant gains in debt reduction, foreign reserves, investor confidence and trade surplus in 2024.
In a detailed update posted online on his X handle yesterday, senior special assistant to the president, Otega Ogra, said the administration listed major achievements recorded within the first full year in office, describing them as a reflection of “strategic leadership, prudent fiscal management and macroeconomic reforms.”
According to Ogra, Nigeria’s total debt stock—covering external and domestic borrowings by the federal government, the 36 states and the FCT declined from $108.2 billion to $94.2 billion as at December 31, 2024.
He further revealed that the administration has successfully cleared all verified foreign exchange backlogs of about $7 billion, while gross external reserves grew from $33.0 billion in 2023 to approximately $40.9 billion by the end of 2024.
Net reserves reportedly rose even more dramatically, from $4.0 billion to $23.3 billion—an increase of over 480 percent.
Nigeria’s Balance of Payments (BOP) also swung from a deficit of $3.34 billion in 2023 to a surplus of $6.83 billion in 2024, attributed to stronger trade performance and increased investor confidence.
Non-oil exports climbed by 24.6% to $7.46 billion, while gas exports surged 48.3% to $8.66 billion. Ogra said portfolio investment inflows more than doubled to $13.35 billion in 2024, reflecting renewed interest in the Nigerian economy by foreign investors.
“This confidence is driven by President Tinubu’s bold macroeconomic reforms,” he stated.
Nigerians in the diaspora were also commended for their trust in the country, with personal remittances rising by 8.9% to $20.93 billion. Inflows via international money transfer operators reportedly grew by 43.5% to $4.73 billion.
On Nigeria’s debt obligations, Ogra highlighted that the country’s International Monetary Fund (IMF) liabilities were reduced by over 67%, dropping from $2.47 billion in 2023 to $800.23 million by the end of 2024.
“There have been no defaults. Nigeria under President Tinubu is repaying loans, not piling them up,” he noted.
The statement also drew attention to improved FAAC allocations to states, an increase in local and foreign investments across sectors, and ongoing infrastructure development—including 74 road projects across 24 states, the Lagos-Calabar and Sokoto-Badagry highways and the second phase of the Second Niger Bridge.
“President Tinubu is not just repairing the system, he is restructuring it for generations yet unborn,” Ogra added, urging Nigerians and investors to “bet on Nigeria.”
