PoliticsRe: 2028 IMO GOVERNORSHIP: Owerri Must Engage And Negotiate With Okigwe Zone by Konquest: 8:31pm On Apr 26, 2025
IbileIfe:
2028 IMO GOVERNORSHIP: Owerri must engage and negotiate with Okigwe Zone or face regret — Prof Protus Uzoma: Orlu Elders Council Secretary

As political permutations gather momentum ahead of the 2028 Imo governorship election, the Secretary of the Orlu Elders Council, Professor Protus Uzoma, has issued a stern warning to political leaders from Owerri zone, urging them to engage Okigwe zone in sincere negotiations over the state’s political future or risk severe political consequences.

Uzoma, in a strongly worded statement, said it would be a costly mistake for Owerri zone to dismiss the legitimate concerns and demands of Okigwe zone for a fair shot at the governorship seat, especially in light of long-standing grievances over underdevelopment and marginalisation.

He emphasized that ignoring Okigwe’s aspirations would plunge the state into needless tension and political instability, urging stakeholders to embrace honest dialogue and equitable power-sharing arrangements to sustain unity and peace in Imo State.

His statement reads in full:

“I have listened with keen interest and deep understanding to the conversations arising out of the weighty pronouncement made by Chief Tony Chukwu that Owerri zone should concede the Capital City to Okigwe zone if they won't allow an indigene of Okigwe zone to succeed Governor Hope Uzodimma in 2028.

“His immutable arguement which is the equivalent of a political missile strike serves as a catalyst for balanced zonal development and inclusive governance.

“Chief Tony Chukwu has raised a storm which is raging across the state. According to Joseph Joubert, "the aim of arguement, or of a discussion should not be victory but progress" Effective political discourse relies on respectful dialogue, critical thinking and respect to opposing viewpoints. However, in many cases especially on social media, conversations can devolve into polarisation, misinformation and personal attacks undermining constructive debate. There is therefore a need to foster mutual understanding to engender civility and better democratic participation.

“Truth burns like fire. Chief Chukwu's contention is that more than 80% of developmental projects in Imo since 1999 are concentrated in Owerri zone by the virtue of its advantage as the host of the capital city. This isn't hate but reality baptised in cold logic. Unapologetic truth isn't for the weak. It is for the strong. His comment is an awakening and this topic is now an ark in the flood of political discussions.

“Truth is not comfortable, it is confrontational. We can't all suffer selective perception which is an instinctive cognitive bias that predisposes us to align with pre-existing prejudices. Our politics must be tailored to dismantle the architecture of concentrating developmental efforts mostly in Owerri zone so as to avoid future agitations. We must resolve this challenge not erase it by gaslighting those with courage to speak up.

“Isn't it worrying to us as a people that Okigwe zone looks like an abandoned space? Everything has been done mostly for the benefit of Owerri zone since 1999. Truthfully, our governors have maintained a tradition of unequal distribution of resources, infrastructure and opportunities. Our political leaders should urgently address the needs of the under represented and simulate growth in neglected zones of the state.

“It is only Governor Hope Uzodimma that has made deliberate efforts to develop the three zones with road infrastructure in order to resolve zonal disparities and ensure that all parts of the state feel valued and heard in the political process. Okigwe zone evidently lags behind in all human development metrics in the state. This is why Imo people are happy with Governor Uzodimma that he consented to and adopted the Charter of Equity against the virile opposition of some of our kinsmen in order to give Owerri and Okigwe zones due sense of shared ownership in the Imo Project.

“I have followed Chief Tony Chukwu's politics since 2006. The nuclear core truth is that he understands the business of politics like a sniper. He carefully studies it, dominates, outwork and out thinks his opponents like a martial arts specialist. He acts as if the unseen is more real than the seen especially during lenten season.

“I remember clearly in 2006 when in the heat of political permutations he pronounced with the certainty and exactitude of an ancient prophet that Okigwe zone would produce the Governor in 2007. PDP toyed with Chief Tony Ezenna, Engr. Ugwu and Senator Araraume while APGA presented the gumptious Chief Martin Agbaso from Owerri zone. In the end, Dr Ohakim from Okigwe zone won the election on the platform of PPA. Again, during the Holy Week of the lenten season of 2018, he admonished then Governor Rochas Okorocha to abandon the fantasy of getting Chief Uche Nwosu to succeed him.

“He privately and publicly denounced that scheme predicting its catastrophic failure. It came to pass. As the lenten season of 2022 progressed into its Holy Week, Chief Tony Chukwu issued a public statement apologising to the people of Otanzu Otanchara axis for not having been able to produce a senator predicting that 2023 would favour them even against the interest of his own people of Okigwe South.

“Today, Senator Patrick Ndubueze is the Senator representing Okigwe zone in the senate. These accurate and precise predictions could be attributed to cold political calculation, coincidence or just luck but such a man should never be ignored especially when he is crying for justice on behalf of his people. It is another Holy Week and he has made a demand on Owerri Zone.

“He wears the face of a lamb but speaks with the tongue of a dragon. He is a messenger not a messiah. He is in the midst of a troop who have stopped thinking like victims. They have stopped crying for help. With an unbreakable mindset, they will not bow to oppression anymore. They want power. Their political tour de force is filled with weapons, blueprints and war manuals. They are inspired by the challenges of having been left behind. There is a huge awakening and there lies their hope and fulfilment of potential.

“They are laying claim to the Governorship in 2028 not with permission but with purpose. They have cast more than an accusation of neglect, they have thrown down a political gauntlet not only at the feet of Owerri zone but before the conscience of the entire state.

“They are asking for restoration. It is not about hate or division but about restoration. Okigwe zone only wants to be better not bitter. Their arguement is that in the evaluation of the Charter of Equity, developments consequent upon the location of the Capital City should form part of the consideration of which zone produces a successor to Governor Hope Uzodimma. Unfortunately, this arguement cannot be easily dismissed with a wave of hand.

“I strongly advise the people of Owerri zone to boldly confront the brutality of the truth of underdevelopment of Okigwe zone and negotiate with their leaders within a predictable parameter. Ignoring the concerns of Okigwe zone would lead Owerri people into a nuclear meltdown of regret.

“Owerri zone should build bridges, build friendships and attract support from a place of advantage not sense of entitlement. They should sit down with trusted leaders of Okigwe zone and collectively tell each other the truth and agree on the way forward. That's the only viable option.

“I will also want to place it on record that Isu Nation comprising Nkwerre, Nwangele, Isu, Njaba and most parts of Orlu LGA is suffering the same abject abandonment like Okigwe zone. While Owerri and Okigwe people are engaging, the collective interest of Isu Nation should also be discussed and protected.”
Interesting insights on geopolitical (or zonal) permutations.
CultureRe: The Legend Of The Origin Of The Hausa: Truth Or False? by Konquest:
OP: @Freemanan. Aug 22, 2022

The legend was centered on the activities of one Bayajjida or Abu-Yazid. He was believed to be a prince from the kingdom of Baghdad in the Middle East. According to the story, he was a white skinned adventurer probably from Arab extraction. He was said to have developed a misunderstanding with his father the king of Baghdad and ran out of the kingdom with some of his loyalists due to that confusion. His movement took him to western Africa where he first took residence in Kanem Empire.

The Mai (king) of Kanem sheltered him and gave him his daughter Magira Daud to marry. The king separated him from his followers and this did not go down well with him. Having lost his followers, he became afraid of his life and fled westwards leaving his wife and the son of that union called Biram. On his way, he met a blacksmith and requested that a sword be made for him.

On his way he came to a town called Daura. The town as at that time was ruled by a woman queen called Dauranama. In Daura, he observed that the town was facing a major problem. The only well from where they got their water had a snake in it. The snake will not allow people to draw water form the well anytime it comes out. Bayajjida attacked and killed the snake. This act of bravery made the queen to marry him and made him to settle down in Daura. The union between Dauranama the queen and Bayajjida produced a son called Bawo.

Bawo was said to have gotten six sons who are believed to be the founders of six Hausa kingdoms. They were Kano, Rano, Katsina, Zaria (Zazzau), Gobir, and Daura. All these together with Biram the son of Bayajjida and the daughter of Mai of Kanem make up the Hausa Bakwoi States (the legitimate ones).
The queen as well was said to have made a concubine available for Bayajjida. The claim was that union of Bayajjida and the concubine produced sons namely Kebbi, Zamfara, Gwari, Jukun, Ilorin, Nupe and Yauna. These seven sons were according to the claim were the founders of another seven kingdoms. They are referred to as the Hausa Banza Bakwoi (illegitimate states).

Critical Analysis
The theorists of this claim believe that it can explain the origin of the Hausa but the legend has a whole lot of unresolved issues or make up.

1) This theory tends to explain to some level the foundation of some Hausa kingdoms. The theorists claim that it explains the origin of the Hausa is very wrong and unacceptable based on analysis.

2) The explanation about Daura and her queen created a picture of an already existing people with an organized political structured headed by a queen. For someone to claim that a visitor founded an already existing people may not be a very acceptable fact.

3) According to the tradition of the foundation of Gobir, Bawo was not mention as having played any role. The tradition did not explain the kinship or link towards Bawo or his father Bayajjida.

Interesting takes.

Based off of my prior knowledge of Northern Nigeria history and ethnic origins, I can say WITHOUT a shadow of doubt that:

This is ABSOLUTELY a fictional work of history as the story itself states that the Bayajidda figure met people in Hausaland. This is just a myth referencing the arrival of an alleged new dynasty who was married to a Kanuri maiden, the alleged daughter of the Mai of Kanem-Borno. The Mai is the older title of the traditional rulers or Kings of Kanem-Borno.

However, it's historically TRUE that some Arabs OR Shuwa Arabs known also as "Black Arabs" migrated from modern Sudan and settled in the midst of the larger indigenous Kanuris of Borno, and you will still find them in Borno till today and the minority Shuwa Arabs are officially listed among one of the 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria.

The Bayajidda legend is just a story that suggests that an Arab guy from Baghdad in Iraq came into West Africa via Kanem-Borno [which is very plausible because some Arabs have long visited North Africa over 2,000 years ago even before the full Arab jihadist invasion and conquests from the Arabian Peninsula in the Middle East of North Africa and later the relentless attacks and conquest of the Nubian area now located within the geographical area of the countries of North Sudan and South Sudan from after the period Muhammed the prophet of Islam died in the 600s BCE (7th Century BCE)].

Ilorin itself was founded ORIGINALLY by the Yorubas of the Oyo Empire and the British Colonialists such as Sir Allan Burns, the former Governor General and Acting Governor General of the Gold Coast and Nigeria respectively, CLEARLY acknowledged that Ilorin is Yoruba-speaking and part of the Yorubaland in his famous history book, "The History of Nigeria" of which I have a physical copy in my home library which was published in the 1920s.

The original Hausa folks ALSO have very distinct negroid features as well and do NOT have Arab physical features.

Last but NOT least, this insidious Bayajidda legend has a very strong undertone of the well-known minority ethnic Fulani propaganda after the foreign Fulani jihad conquests in Northern Nigeria from 1803 as can be seen from the highly IRRESPONSIBLE inclusion of distinct ethnic groups of Nupe, Gwari, Jukun, and the singling out of ONLY Ilorin among the Yoruba-speaking towns as part of the so-called "banza bakwoi" or "7 illegitimate states" in Hausa language allegedly descended from the 7 children of the alleged concubine concubine of the mythical Bayajidda figure as stated in the 4th paragraph of the original post of this thread.

How can a bank worker violate the personal space of his fellow female workers (and some male workers) and then sell off their nude videos online just like that WITHOUT any repercussions and final justice (from the Police and the courts) for the victims after making money online from the so-called OnlyF*ns and Telegram?

darfay:
Oduduwa met an already existing yoruba people in ife nd sent his son to rule over an already existing yoruba states.
To add more CLARITY to your post, the real Oduduwa was ORIGINALLY from another Yoruba community called Oke Ora in the same Osun State which is just 8 miles away from the current Ile Ife (spelled and pronounced as "Ufe" in the Ife dialect). This is why BEFORE a new Ooni (Oba) of Ife is to be crowned, he has to go to Oke Ora as part of the Ile Ife ceremonial rites of crowning a NEW traditional ruler. As a person who is a veteran of world, African, and Nigerian history right from the early 1980s, I can confirm these historical and archaeological traditions are LARGELY accurate based off of the works of the iconic historians such as the Emeritus Professor Akinjide Osuntokun (who clocked 80 as of 2022 and he was Nigeria's former Ambassador to Germany), Professor Banji Akintoye, then the U.S.-based Professor Toyin Falola, and much more.

Just as you rightly stated, Oduduwa met people already there in modern Ile Ife who constituted the ancestors of the current Oba of the oil and gas-rich Ugbo Kingdom [The Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, Oba Frederick Akinrutan, the oil and gas mogul founder of Obat Petroleum, and the Forbes-listed richest traditional ruler in Nigeria] in the Ilaje area of Ondo State who are pure Yorubas from Ife as well.

The Oduduwa Dynasty is regarded as the beginning of the 3rd Dynasty in Ufe (Ile Ife) as CLEARLY stated in an interview I read 3 years by the current Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. It's the 3rd Dynasty because other people and Dynasties have existed in what is now known as Ife many centuries BEFORE Oduduwa was even born and arrived in modern Ife slightly over 1,000 years ago from the mountainous hills of Oke Ora (Oke means hilly mountain in Yoruba while "Ora" is the name of a Yoruba deity).

So, Oduduwa is ALSO NOT the ORIGINAL founder of ALL the modern Yoruba-speaking people [as being FALSELY bandied around by some non-Yoruba folks who are NOT familiar with the original Ufe (Ile Ife) history, including Yoruba history and cosmology] BUT is just one of the many Yoruba ancestors from centuries ago. Oduduwa is however credited with being the progenitor of the vast number of Yoruba kings or Obas today with the exception of some Obas such as Frederick Akinrutan who is CLEARLY descended from the original ruling Dynasty that existed in Ife before the arrival of Oduduwa from Oke Ora to start the 3rd Dynasty. Ifa divination was then consulted and Oba Frederick Akinrutan's forebears where instructed by Ifa divination to stop the sporadic battlefield attacks on Oduduwa's team and move to another location. The family compounds and family lineages of the original people in Ife before Oduduwa arrived still exist in Ife and intermarriages have taken place among them and the Oduduwa Dynasty descendants.

Hope this helps.

MEET YOUR ILLAH IGALA PEOPLE

Illah is a town in Delta state. It is made up of Igala and other tribes. The Igala part is called Azanoma.

Azanoma was founded by Prince Asaga and Prince Onaje, both are children of Attah Ayegba Oma Idoko.

Around 15th century, Prince Asaga was sent by his father, Attah Ayegba, to follow the newly crowned Obi Igbo from Idah to Illah to teach Obi's people some music, dances and how to beat ogidi gbo (wooden gong). Due to the hospitality nature of the Illah people he met, he settled down and refused to go back to Idah as his father instructed him to. Staying too long, Attah Ayegba became unsettled and then sent his younger brother, Onaje to go and look for him, and bring him back home. On reaching there, Onaje saw his brother doing very well and very happy with the friendly nature of the people. Onaje was well received by them, and seeing their hospitality too, he didn't go back to but stayed with his elder brother. They both married and formed the Azanoma (Illah Igala)
although others said it was formed by/with by Otakpe, another son of Attah Ayegba (which is not my point here to say who is right or not but to identify and reconnect them to Igala in the ancestral home, Idah).

Today, the king of Azanoma is Eze Nmo (Chief Michael Eddoh) and assisted by Agaba Idu (second in command). The present Agaba Idu is of Asaga lineage. His name is Chief Chikweh Maduka. All the cultural activities of Igala are till today carried out by Illah Igala. Although, most of them can no longer speak Igala due to just two person in the midst of many strange people and long stay in foreign land, Igala language is used in most cultural festivals.

Thanks to Sir Paul Onelum and Sir Emmanuel Ofili, both of Illah Igala for their efforts. And do you know what, Pa Paul Onelum has Igala native uniform, and to let you know also, some Illah Igala adults are currently receiving Igala language lessons to allow them teach their family members. Let this Igala lesson be emulated by other indigenous Igala across the world. Igala blood remains the same, help me welcome Illah Igala home again. Me wola odudu chaka.

I'm Ayegba, and our reunion is my priority, pls join me. Share to inform other Igalas we are there too.
Bump.

Agatha Amata of the "Inside Out" fame hails from the Igala-associated and Igala-speaking community of Ebu in Delta State as well.

Desmond Olusola Elliot, the Lagos State-born lawmaker and veteran movie actor who hails paternally from the Olowogbowo area of Lagos Island has a biological mother who hails from Illah in Delta North of Delta State, Frank Olize of the NTA Newsline fame, and Vincent Maduka, a retired senior NTA boss and engineer are some of the other prominent folks of Illah descent who I can recall are indigenes of Illah as well. Even the name Illah is of Igala origin based off of what I read several years ago.

"Man, Know Thyself"

It's been absolutely fascinating [for me since I started reading more advanced history and archival materials from the early 1980s about African and Nigerian distinct ethnic groups] to look above the time track and follow the historic trail of ethnic migrations over the centuries and seeing how the direct descendants of these migrants have evolved or turned out as seen in Delta North region of Nigeria where you have a variegated mix of communities founded originally by Benin-Edo, Esan-Edo, Yoruba (Olukumi), Igala and Nri ancestral descendants.

The red chieftaincy cap (which is of Middle Belt of Nigeria origin) still turns out to be one of the MOST defining moments of the strong Igala cultural and linguistic influences on the Anioma (or Delta North region) in Delta State and Nsukka in Enugu State from where it spread from about 500 years ago to other parts of the current South East of Nigeria because it was the Igala folks who FIRST introduced the wearing of the red chieftaincy cap into those areas with Nsukka being the major epicenter of that introduction. So, that red chieftaincy cap is NOT of Ibo origin as incorrectly though by some people, BUT it's purely of Igala origin via what is now the current Kogi State.

The Yoruba folks of Kogi and Kwara States ALSO wear red chieftaincy caps on their heads (including other ethnicities such as the Ebiras, Jukuns, Nupes and more who make up large parts of the Middle Belt of Nigeria have for centuries been wearing the red chieftaincy caps)
and this is definitely as a result of cross-fertilization of cultures in the Middle Belt of Nigeria.

CrimeRe: FBI Arrests 22 Nigerians In ‘sextortion Scams’ Linked To Rising US Teen Suicides by Konquest:
Islie:
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) says it has arrested 22 Nigerians for allegedly being connected to financially motivated sextortion schemes that have led to a rise in suicides among American teenagers.

In a statement released on its official website, the FBI said the suspects were arrested during a first-of-its-kind global operation in collaboration with law enforcement agencies from Nigeria, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom (UK).

Out of the 22 suspects arrested, the FBI said, “approximately half were directly linked to victims who took their own lives”.

The US agency said it has observed a 30 percent increase in sextortion-related tips between October 2024 and March 2025 compared to the previous year.

“According to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center or IC3, there were over 54,000 victims in 2024, up from 34,000 in 2023,” the statement reads.

“Over the last two years, there have been nearly $65 million in financial losses due to this crime.

“Most of the victims are boys aged 14 to 17, and more than 20 minor victims have died by suicide.

“Given the alarming rise and similarities of these cases, the FBI opened investigations across the country with the goal of bringing answers and closure to grieving American families.

“Information gathered by the FBI’s Child Exploitation Operational Unit (CEOU) allowed the FBI to work collaboratively with all 55 of our field offices to identify nearly 3,000 victims of financially motivated sextortion.

“It was during these investigative steps that the commonality of perpetrators residing in Nigeria began to grow and paint a larger, more international scope of this crime.”

According to the FBI, the Nigerian suspects arrested during the operation codenamed “Operation Artemis” allegedly posed as young women on social media, building trust with teenage boys before coercing them into sharing explicit content.

The agency said the perpetrators would then demand payment via gift cards, mobile payments, or cryptocurrency while threatening to make public the content, adding that in many cases, the harassment continued even after money was paid, leaving victims ashamed and hopeless.

“As a result of Operation Artemis, a Nigerian man was extradited to the U.S. in January and charged with causing the death of a South Carolina teenager who took his own life after being extorted by the suspect posing as a woman,” the FBI said.

“Additionally, two men were extradited from Nigeria to the United States last year to face charges related to the sextortion and death of a young man in Pennsylvania. These subjects will now be held accountable in the American justice system, with more subjects still awaiting extradition in Nigeria.”

Kash Patel, FBI director, said, “Operation Artemis exemplifies the FBI’s never-ending mission to protect our most vulnerable and to pursue the heinous criminals harming our children—no matter where they hide.”

“This operation highlights the critical need for international cooperation to address this growing threat, and it’s a fight we can’t take on without our valued partners across the globe.

“We hope this message encourages parents and guardians to continue to educate their children about online safety and serves as a reminder of the FBI’s relentless pursuit of keeping our children safe.”
https://www.thecable.ng/fbi-arrests-22-nigerians-in-sextortion-scams-linked-to-rising-us-teen-suicides/
While I strongly empathize with the parents of these 20 American teenagers who allegedly committed suicide from these sextortion scams (leading to nearly 65 millions USD loses over the last two years alone to these highly IRRESPONSIBLE scammers), those kids themselves are NOT blameless because they got actively enmeshed themselves in these online sex acts leading to the blackmail through relentless extortions by these highly IRRESPONSIBLE scammers posing as women through social media.

As emphasized in the FOX news report which I watched a few days ago right BELOW, kids have to learn to report these cases to their parents and not be ashamed. Parents have to be more open in listening actively to the needs and concerns of their kids as well.

Fortunately, there's been a massive drop in this international sextortion cases in St.Louis and other U.S. cities due to American parents taking individual actions to engage with their kids.

The different groups in the South East such as the Ngwa, Mbaise, Owere, Oka, etc, now refered to as "Ibo" NEVER called themselves "Ibo" because it was a totally strange concept created through the British Colonial influence. The term "Ibo or Igbo" itself has derogatory and condescending origins of Igala and Edo roots, and was used by their neighbors (and outsiders to refer to the people's of the South East interior as primitive, bush people, and a source of slaves during the slave trade, who engaged in eating human beings or cannibalism) as CLEARLY stated in several advanced history books. I have some screenshots of some of those advanced history books referenced by some Ibo writers themselves which I will upload later if I have the time.

These Igbos are comedian. Paid Azuka Okah to organize a group called Akiko Uwa, hired actors, publicise it on the Internet and claim it's Igbanke people

They're all over social media debunking it. Igbanke has always insisted that they're not Benin by ethnicity. They've always insisted that they're Ika. The Igbo expansionist movement led by Nna Meh TV, Spirit Almighty and the rest contracted Azuka Okah and formed the akiko Uwa group which They've used for propaganda for a few years now. There's lots of sponsorship coming from certain Igbo people and Ned Nwoko was also involved. We've infiltrated their groups and I have a lot of information into what's actually going on. Expansion and access to the sea in eventual biafran independence. They're willing to go to any length to achieve their dreams. We the indigenous Ika people are watching and we'll act proactively because we won't permit anyone to play politics with our identity
That boy called "Nna men whatever" engages in a lot of disinformation and propaganda using that crappy YT channel of his. There was absolutely NO where in his video that I coincidentally saw in my YouTube timeline just yesterday that the Ikas interviewed said they are Ibos. They ONLY affirmed that they are Ikas, wanted to be part of Delta State, and wanted to discontinue the use of spoken Benin language in all their political gatherings which they found disrespectful to them. This is fair enough.

Coincidentally, in a recent video that I saw just yesterday, the entire Igbanke folks in the current Edo State are Ikas and NEVER claimed in the video to be Ibos BUT ONLY resisted the further usage of Bini language at every political and cultural gathering including the Enogie they claimed was imposed on them from Benin. They also called for a merger with Delta State in anticipation of an Anioma State. Anioma State if created would include several distinct communities with Benin-Edo, Esan-Edo, Yoruba (Olukumi), Igala (Ebu is an Igala-speaking community where Agatha Amata of the "Inside Out" fame hails from, and Illah is where the biological mother [of the Lagos State-born lawmaker who is paternally from Olowogbowo area of Lagos Island, Desmond Olusola Elliot] hails from along with the iconic former NTA broadcaster Frank Olize. Ebu and Illah are some of the Igala-associated communities with Igala descendants in Delta State. Illah is ALSO an original Igala language-derived name), and lastly migrant Nri ancestral descent. Delta North (or Anioma) is a unique and culturally diverse geographical area and CANNOT be included as part of the South East region as suggested online and offline by highly uninformed and clueless young Ibo irredendists from the South East of Nigeria. Period.

In reality, Igbanke is part of Agbor in Ika South West LGA of in Delta State but was ONLY carved out of Ikaland (from what was originally the Midwest State, then Bendel State) into Edo State. The military government of the legendary Nigerian Civil War veteran, Samuel Ogbemudia played a strong role in a lot of legacy projects in the Old Bendel State, and some still think the influential Samuel Ogbemudia may have influenced the inclusion of Igbanke into what is now Edo State because his biological mother is from Igbanke.
PoliticsRe: APC Chieftain Orubebe Welcomes Oborevwori, Others by Konquest: 8:12am On Apr 26, 2025
NewDigitalWorld:
Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Delta State, Elder GodsDay Orubebe, has welcomed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the PDP family into the APC, noting that the decision of the Governor to join the APC is very key to the development of Delta State.

Orubebe described the defections at this time in our nation’s political history as a courageous and strategic step that reflects a commitment to the progress and unity of Delta State and Nigeria as a whole.

The former Minister, who stated this in a statement, noted that in the past 20 months in office Governor Oborevwori has demonstrated capacity and shown that he is a Governor for all Deltans.

The statement reads: “I warmly welcome the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the PDP Family into the All Progressives Congress (APC). Their decision to join the APC at this pivotal time in our nation’s political history is a courageous and strategic step that reflects a commitment to the progress and unity of Delta State and Nigeria as a whole.

“Governor Oborevwori has demonstrated uncommon leadership and commitment to the development of Delta State. I particularly commend his bold steps in infrastructure development, which have had direct and positive impacts on the lives of ordinary Deltans.

“Governor Oborevwori’s positive decisive action in the reconstruction of the long-abandoned Ohorhor-Bomadi Road is more than a Blessing to our people. That road, which generations of leaders had promised to fix but abandoned is finally receiving the attention it deserves under his watch. The Ijaw people are happy and will not forget this.

“Since assuming office, Governor Oborevwori has shown himself to be a listening leader—one who is genuinely attuned to the yearnings and aspirations of the people. This has been evident in his consultative approach to governance and his willingness to prioritize projects that directly affect the grassroots. His brand of inclusive leadership is what we in the APC welcome and embrace, as we work to build a stronger, more united Delta.

“The engagement of Julius Berger—a globally renowned construction firm—for major road infrastructure and ultra-modern flyovers is another commendable milestone. For the first time in the history of Delta State, we are seeing such a reputable company being engaged to deliver world-class projects. This bold move alone sets Governor Oborevwori apart and sends a strong message about his commitment to quality and long-term infrastructural development.

“As a chieftain of the APC in Delta State and a former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, I understand the immense challenges that come with leadership. I also know the significance of having experienced, tested, and development-oriented leaders within our fold. The entrance of Governor Oborevwori and other PDP Leaders into the APC brings new energy, fresh perspectives, and a wealth of experience that will surely strengthen our party ahead of 2027.

“This is not the time for division, but for unity. We must all close ranks, put aside political differences, and focus on what truly matters—the welfare of our people and the future of Delta State. The APC in Delta is big enough to accommodate everyone, and I am confident that together, with Sheriff Oborevwori and other progressive leaders, we will chart a new and greater course for our state.

“Once again, I wholeheartedly welcome His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and Other PDP Leaders and Members. I urge all APC members across the state to open their hearts and arms to these new entrants. Let us build bridges, not walls, and focus on delivering the dividends of democracy to our people.

FoodRe: Dont Peel-off Yam Skin Before Cooking, Dietician Advises by Konquest: 4:26pm On Apr 25, 2025
Rednaxelot:
A Dietician in the Department of Dietetics, University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Mr Peter Stephen, on Tuesday advised against peeling of yam before cooking it.

Stephen said in Benin that cooking yam with the skin reduced its sugar content.

He noted that yam and rice had high Glycemic Index (GI) which increased blood sugar level, and advised that yam should not be peeled before cooking to reduce the sugar content

GI is a numerical scale used to indicate how fast and how high a particular food can raise blood glucose (blood sugar) level.

“The skin of yam that is normally peeled off contains proteins and vitamin B Complex.

“It also has soluble fibre that absorbs sugar inside the yam.

‘’When the yam is properly cooked, you peel off the skin before eating.

“When you cook your yam with the skin, it will not increase the blood sugar level.

“By the time you eat the yam with vegetables, it gives you a better result,” he said.

Stephen listed foods with low GI to include tomatoes, soya beans and beans.

He noted that such foods had natural substances lowered blood sugar level.

He advised people, especially diabetic patients, to mix foods with low GI with those with high GI in the ratio of 2:1 to maintain a good blood sugar level.

“Rice has high GI; so, if you want to eat it, mix it with food with low GI such as beans.

“If you take five spoons of rice, you have to take 10 spoons of beans to help to slow down the rate sugar is absorbed in the blood.

“Even if you are not diabetic, you have to control your sugar level because prevention is better than cure,” the dietician advised. (NAN)

Those are VERY impressive submissions on the low GI levels of unpeeled boiled yams.

Precisely. As you know though, bigots see what they wish to see.

They won't ever note or acknowledge the fact that all the worst Northern supremacists and born'to-rule elements, to include one of Mauritanian descent originally who thinks his Fulani origin means he owns Nigeria, are now foaming at the mouth publicly and making threats.

All their desperate public vituperations and threats are merely because Tinubu, as some of us always argued is the Southerner most capable of doing such, is leading Nigeria independently and resolutely as Jonathan never could and as Obi, the ultimately coward and slave of the North, will never be able to.

Rip Chief Frank Kokori. God continue to grant him eternal peace in death. Though not Yoruba, he did not mention any Southerner, not even from hid own ethnic group, but Tinubu below .

If most Nigerians are genuinely progressive people, who can shun sentiments, tribalism and bias to see what is obvious, they will heed the advice of an 'insiders' in the form of the late Chief Frank Kokori who really understand Nigeria and those with the capacity to "deliver us from all evil".

Succinctly stated.

Nasir El-Rufai is of Guinea (Conakry) origin. He clearly said so in a media interview I watched years back that his Fulani ancestors migrated from Guinea (Conakry) to Nigeria after the infamous Fulani jihad of 1803 starting with Hausaland in modern Nigeria and Niger Republic. Atiku Abubakar is of Cameroon Fulani descent but carved into Nigeria after the defeat of German Cameroon.
Alongside the Fulanis of Mauritania origin, the Baba Ahmeds, and other minority ethnic Fulanis, they constitute the arrowheads of the plot to unseat President Bola Ahmed in 2027 and then entrench their own minority Fulani ethnic hegemony again leading to further herdsmen killings of innocent folks around Nigeria. That's what's up.

The garrulous boy in the video is likely a Fulani who is making a mountain out of a mole hill to divert attention from the activities of the fifth columnists seeking to destabilize Nigeria. It's all part of the larger plot with the minority Fulani politicians being the ring leaders of the so-called political coalition that's trying to kick in using some gullible leaders and masses from especially the South East as part of the larger plot. We know the sequence of how these guys have played the game right from the 1803 foreign Fulani jihadist invasions of indigenous Hausaland, Kanuriland, Nupeland and what is now large parts of Northern Nigeria by the Fulah hegemonists who create internal chaos OR look out for signs of internal chaos, conflict and weakness in the society in order to strike like Uthman Danfodio and his foreign Fulani lieutenants did from 1803.

When I FIRST saw that video and watched it over and over again, I knew she wasn't speaking Fulfude and it wasn't a Fulani woman that fired that gun and immediately, South Sudan came to my mind because of her strong African looks and dark skin complexion. Fulanis tend to be fairer in complexion and slimmer in body size based on their North African or Berber paternal ancestry which past oral and written traditions had confirmed and even modern DNA testing results that I have seen in videos clearly show the North African Berber DNA markers in most Fulanis.

I appreciate that you clarified for everyone that this young lady's identity is Southern Sudanese.

A fulani person should not be made Nigerian president again!! They are not Nigerians
You've bluntly spoken my mind right above about the vicious minority Fulani politicians.

Those of us who are older and have a deep sense of past historical events know that reelecting a minority Fulani man again ahead of the indigenous Hausas and Kanuris who are individually MORE than the Fulanis in population will be a disaster and a vote for the continuation of the killings in years to come by foreign Fulani herdsmen and bandits! NO Hausa man has ever been the democratically elected President of Nigeria not even via military rule! The minority Fulanis have ALWAYS used subterfuge to embed themselves in Hausaland. Yar' Adua's paternal lineage is Tuareg from Niger Republic. Muhammed Buhari's paternal lineage is Fulani via Niger Republic while Buhari's mother is a Kanuri woman from Borno.

There's a latest video I want you to watch showing the Hausas rejecting the "oloriburuku" Fulani hegemony right BELOW and this is why the minority Fulani political elite are panicking up and down forming the main ring leaders of the so-called political coalition to unseat President Bola Tinubu who has to really sit up himself and dismantle the Fulani structure that has held Nigeria back politically for decades. NO ethnic group should ever dominate or hold others to ransom.

I just read that the former Governor Kwankwaso of Kano State is planning to move to the APC but it's still kept under wraps. I'm NOT sure if he is a "pure Hausa" or a Fulani, but it's being speculated that he is looking for a bigger political platform to contest the 2031 Presidency and this would be disastrous if he is a Fulani and wins (like that notorious Nasir El-Rufai, Atiku Abubakar and the Hakeem Baba-Ahmeds who are pure Fulanis and they all have their ancestral roots from other countries such as Guinea Conakry for Nasir, Cameroon for Atiku, and Mauretania for the Baba Ahmeds via the Senegal region and paternal Berber ethnicity from Morocco in North Africa). If returned to power, the minority Fulanis will go on rampage and begin to reverse any positive policies or thing that Tinubu may have done and further encourage the lawlessness of their Fulani herdsmen cousins in killing other indigenous ethnic folks in Nigeria while taking over their ancestral homelands in Southern Kaduna, Plateau, Benue, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Kwara, Kogi States, etc. This MUST NEVER be allowed to take place again or the killings will continue when a minority Fulani President comes after the Tinubu Presidency. It's time to destroy the negative Fulani control of Nigeria and as can be seen in the video below and other videos that I have seen since 2024, the Hausas or Hausawa (who are over 80 million in Nigeria and Niger Republic with some in Northern Ghana are far more in population than the Fulanis who are not more than 25 million in the whole of West Africa) will support any strong moves by President Tinubu to tame the power-hungry Fulani political elite through restructuring.

Yes, North Africa is the original ancestral homeland of ALL the Fulanis and DNA testing results that I have seen in videos of ALL the Fulanis tested shows that their paternal side is from the Umayyad Berbers of Morocco (The Berbers had earlier been expelled from Spain in 1492 after colonizing Spain for over 700 years) who invaded West Africa in series of battle and destroyed the West African empire there and impregnated or fathered children from some of the women captives. That's how Fulanis came into existence or evolved within the last 1000 years.

However, the requirement to engage muslims and all Nairalanders with decency and respect remains.

We have renamed the Religion board as the Christianity Etc board, recognizing the fact that most non-Muslims are Christians.

It's the same despicable criminal gangs of paid ipob troll farms that are responsible for all the disinformation, triggering toxic and inciting hate speech on this same Nairaland discussion forum since the early 2010s and on other online platforms such Facebook, X, YouTube, WhatsApp, and more as reported in the 2022 video by the "BBC Global Disinformation Team" which exposed the BANNED insidious group for deliberately fabricating FAKE news and relentless toxic disinformation online to trigger ethnic tensions and Civil War in Nigeria. NOT just that, new laptops, mobile phones, and internet data were given out freely to these hired and paid ipob troll farms to aid them in spreading disinformation online, while this same group's male and female members living in Europe including Simon Ekpa where shown in the BBC video issuing death threats to other Ibos in Nigeria and the murders were carried out. Nnamdi Kanu too was shown in the BBC video introducing Simon Ekpa as a member of his group contrary to the denial by Nnamdi's brother that Simon isn't their member.

Kudos to the Edo State Government for calling that vile gang out and their propaganda and irresponsible disinformation out. They are the number one problem of Nigeria in terms of the spread of massive disinformation through their paid online troll farms.
