Just $235,000 and he got nabbed. He'll definitely learn some punishing lessons for his folly. There's NO room for nonsense behavior here as there's a digital trail of transactions. Those Russians and citizens of former Communist countries are even more daring with their crimes as they have been known to steal millions of USD.
MrSly: Someone said Yoruba is the most tribalistic people in nigeria. I make bold to say that it is in the world not just Nigeria.
I didn't want to post anything on this thread until I saw your highly insidious post.
Your post above is highly IRRESPONSIBLE and filled with gross disinformation. Because one young wannabe YouTuber who is just in his 30s named Scott Iguma who was arrested and charged to court for defamation of the real estate firm PWAN in July 2025, FALSELY made that comment about the over 80 million strong Yorubas worldwide to draw attention to himself using mind-control tactics doesn't mean it's a FACT.
There are many fantastic non-Yoruba folks online who have countered the FALSE narratives this boy called Iguma and you are spewing out of your warped imaginations on a major discussion forum such as NL created by a young Yoruba guy of just 23 years from Ogun State in 2005 and visited by millions of Yorubas and non-Yorubas annually who get to see that YOU and your ilk are the ones trolling, derailing threads and deliberately fabricating and spreading disinformation on this NL discussion forum and other platforms. Even the "BBC Global Disinformation Team" investigative video of 2022 EXPOSED this trolling being done by paid ipob troll farms online and how innocent Ibos were murdered by ipob.
There are MANY non-Yoruba YouTubers who are Bini-Edos such as "Wounded Civilian," Esan-Edos, Isokos, Urhobos, a Cross River lady YouTuber such as Lily Ogini who is based in Ghana, an Ibibio guy from Akwa Ibom (who used to be associated with ipob but detached himself to speak against ipob), Igala, Ikwerres, etc, have called out some of the insidious Ibos for being very tribalistic and engaging in territorial expansion into their ancestral homelands. I have several videos of even your fellow Ibos who are very truthful such as a guy called Chimda who spoke against crimes some things bad elements among Ibos are doing in Ghana and Ijele as well who have called out some of their own fellow Ibos for being overbearing, engaging in historical disinformation, toxic hate speech, tribalism.
There are several videos of these people which have already been downloaded for posterity sake to be used as EVIDENCE to counter your gaslighting and propaganda against other ethnicities of Nigeria. Be guided as your actions of disinformation will NOT be tolerated here. Period.
No fewer than fifteen out of the sixteen communities in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra state have been submerged by flood a day after the Federal government announced the coming of this year's flooding.
Recall that the Nigerian Metrological Agency (NIMET) had earlier announced and listed states in the country that would be affected by flood disaster, asking those residing at the coastal areas to commence relocation.
The flooding was on the account of the last rain fall that caused the overflow of the River Niger and ultimately submerged buildings and and farm lands in the area.
Meanwhile areas that are yet to be affected by the flooding such as Okpoko saw villagers making early harvest of their crops in order to save their crops from being washed away by flood.
However, the Anambra State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has opened holding centres across vulnerable local government areas and urged residents of riverine communities particularly in Ogbaru, Anambra East, and Anambra West to move to higher grounds for safety.
At the moment, Governor Charles Soludo represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim is working with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Federal Government, to step up flood control efforts.
According to the Deputy Governor Ibezim who is the Chairman of the Flood Management Committee, the holding camps are being upgraded and the respective local government Mayor's are on top of the game in ensuring that the impact would be minimal.
He further explained that the joint efforts of the state government and UNDP include clearing blocked drainages, enforcing the “Operation Clear Your Waterways” directive, and advancing plans for long-term dredging of the River Niger.
But some of the villagers who spoke with newsmen lamented that they are yet to take delivery of any relief materials from government or any other agencies.
"The entire 15 out of the 16 communities have been affected by the flooding and no one has come here to see us or may be they are on their way to Ogbaru" the villagers stated.###
Glimpsetv: A video of a beautiful Nigerian lady advising her fellow women not to allow Nigerian men turn them into single mothers has gone viral, sparking various reactions, with many—both men and women—fully in support.
In the video, she stressed that men often refuse to settle down with single mothers, yet they are the same ones who push women into that situation. According to her, many men turn young women into baby mamas, only to later abandon them and go in search of fresh, younger girls to marry when they are finally ready to settle down.
She firmly warned young ladies never to give in to becoming single mothers.

Konquest: I saw some videos in my YouTube timeline on the Ondo section clearing last week. At least that would open up that corridor to more manufacturing and tourist investments being an area sharing direct boundaries with the Atlantic Ocean.
Off course, the Atlantic Ocean has led to the loss of huge coastlines in Ondo with lands lost several kilometers into the Atlantic Ocean due to climate change and sea level rises as seen in documentaries the Ilaje coastline. So, there are advanced solutions that can be used to reclaim and protect the lands like the now President 'Bola Tinubu and Chagoury Group did with the Eko Atlantic City project which saved Victoria Island and contiguous areas from disappearing into the sea due to annual floodings especially back in the early 2000s.
Ever since I got to know about this young man called Scott who's still in his 30s just under 2 months ago, I noticed that he engages in a lot of sensationalism just like the other boy named VDM. Listening to him, he engages in a lot of sensationalism and mind-control to draw public attention and online traffic to his crappy videos. While it's good to point out things for repairs so as to improve the society, the way he goes about it is what has raised the red flags for me and other discerning folks.
There are many Edo (and/or Delta) folks where this guy comes from who do NOT talk carelessly like this young man does in his videos just to chase clout! There is a video he did on the Lagos State Commissioner of Health, the brilliant Prof. Akin Abayomi over the body works of the van or vehicle used to carry oxygen gas from one hospital point to the other. There are official channels in each State to make your points on infrastructure deficit known to the required senior officials, persons or authorities in charge instead of deliberately using weak mind control tactics and disinformation to continue to attack Lagos State.
Omoyele has crossed the line here with his relentless publication of FAKE news, verbal insults and defamation of people. When any world leader or President is attacked verbally by a person or group of persons, it immediately raises red flags and the Intelligence agencies of that country would step in to investigate any threats and potential threats to that leader such as has happened in the United States, United Kingdom, and France where people have been arrested, interrogated, charged to court, and sent to jail for public disorder against world leaders.
The man who is the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in reality responsible for bringing these insults upon himself indirectly with his political correctness. He is NO doubt aware of the relentless disinformation and daily insults from random posters who even FALSELY call him a "drug*baron" right here on NL and other platforms, despite the FACT that the United States has NEVER charged him for any hard drugs crime in 1993. The ONLY case he had was a civil case which led to a forfeiture of $460,000 for not paying a backlog of taxes within a timeframe because he wasn't in the United States and that wasn't a criminal case relating to any hard drugs, and the U.S. Federal even returned $1million back into his United States 8 checking bank accounts as of 1993 because it was CLEAN money, yet Bola Tinubu casually says these online defamers should be left alone which is NOT a good idea!
President Tinubu, though a strong-willed man gives off "weak vibes" sometimes with this political correctness, and NOBODY (including these dolts and bigots who relentlessly defame him online) respects people who are perceived to be "weak" people. I commend him so, far for being tolerant of these creeps as a pro-democracy movement leader back in the 1990s, but Tinubu will do well to STOP being politically correct from here on out. Tinubu needs to realize that the Presidency of Nigeria is an institution that is beyond him so he CANNOT keep allowing all kinds of IRRESPONSIBLE people online to keep defaming him WITHOUT consequences as their is NO ABSOLUTE freedom anywhere. I certainly wouldn't take all the B.S. and toxic disinformation that the Nigerian President Tinubu is allowing to be spread about him in cyberspace because the image of Nigeria (or any country is BIGGER than any President). 'Femi Gbaja has to emphasize this to his principal as well because in professional PR practice, "perception is stronger than reality." The law has to take it's course in dealing with Omoyele, David Hundeyin, the secessionist ipob troll farms who DELIBERATELY fabricate and spread mass disinformation online and those creeps from Gazette who like publishing a lot of disinformation and misleading headlines on their online news site to appeal to the primordial emotions of impressionable and gullible people.

Sowere has once again shown that he indeed has deep psychological issues based off of the relentless disinformation he spreads via his online publication WITHOUT apologies to his readers, and the thoughtless insults he spews out of his mouth. This is a guy who confessed that he didn't study Journalism BUT he has violated a lot of laws regarding defamation. NO where in the world is their absolute freedom of speech and if you make verbal or written threats against an American President like that teenage British boy who sent a threat email to the then President Obama's email, the U.S. Intelligence agencies will have you picked up and that's what they did by contacting the British Intelligence agency to track the boy up.
Someone went to jail in France for attacking the French President in public, so, I wonder what gives some of these ignorant posters on Page 1 the audacity to think that you can get away with relentlessly defaming any world President or leader including the one in Nigeria? Ignorance of the law is NOT an excuse and Omoyele Sowere (who said in a short video I saw last year that he is Ijaw contrary to public beliefs) will have to provide EVIDENCE to back up his defamatory comments BUT I totally disagree with those who unwisely said he should be ignored. He has INFACT done a lot of damage to the publuc image of other people including the deliberate spread of disinformation online.
He and those pushing him on will learn some punishing lessons down the road.

englishmart: After eating jollof from Hilda Baci, here are my reviews.
1. It was half-done, like wedding rice.
2. The left side of the plate tasted differently from the right side. The sweetest part was the middle. I had to focus on the middle. No wonder Davido sang one "sweet in the middle" song
3. There was no meat anywhere around the vicinity. It was as if proteins were proscribed terrorists. I brought chicken from KFC though, because I envisaged such utter meatlessness.
4. Finally, the body ordor competition was so intense that carbide would smell like Toni Montana. I think the body ordors changed the taste of the food. It made it taste saltier with a sprinkle of peppery enthusiasm

fergie001: A new minister in Albania charged to handle public procurement will be impervious to bribes, threats, or attempts to curry favour. That is because Diella, as she is called, is an AI-generated bot.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, who is about to begin his fourth term, said on Thursday that Diella, which means "sun" in Albanian, will manage and award all public tenders in which the government contracts private companies for various projects.
“Diella is the first cabinet member who isn’t physically present, but is virtually created by AI,” Rama said during a speech unveiling his new cabinet. She will help make Albania "a country where public tenders are 100% free of corruption."
The awarding of such contracts has long been a source of corruption scandals in Albania, a Balkan country that experts say is a hub for gangs seeking to launder their money from trafficking drugs and weapons across the world, and where graft has reached the corridors of power.
That image has complicated Albania's accession to the European Union, which Rama wants to achieve by 2030 but which political analysts say is ambitious.
The Government did not provide details of what human oversight there might be for Diella, or address risks that someone could manipulate the artificial intelligence bot.
Diella originally launched early this year as an AI-powered virtual assistant on the e-Albania platform, helping citizens and businesses obtain state documents. Dressed in traditional Albanian attire, she provides assistance through voice commands and issues documents with electronic stamps, reducing bureaucratic delays.
Not everyone is convinced. One Facebook user said: "Even Diella will be corrupted in Albania." Another said: "Stealing will continue and Diella will be blamed."
fergie001: An AI-generated government “minister” was debuted in the Albanian parliament on Thursday, with Prime Minister Edi Rama presenting the bot as a symbol of his government’s push for transparency and innovation.
“The constitution speaks of institutions at the people’s service. It doesn’t speak of chromosomes, of flesh or blood,” the avatar declared in a three-minute address delivered from two large screens.
“It speaks of duties, accountability, transparency, non-discriminatory service.”
“I assure you that I embody such values as strictly as every human colleague, maybe even more,” added the artificial persona.
It has been named Diella, which means sun in Albanian, and is depicted as a woman in traditional Albanian dress.
Mr Rama argued that the AI-generated bot will help the government work faster and with full transparency.
It is one element in a larger plan to highlight the Balkan nation’s technological innovations as it works toward European Union membership.
Albania hopes to join the 27-member bloc by 2030.
Opposition legislators are highly critical of the AI bot, and believe Diella is actually a way for the government to hide graft.
They banged their hands on their tables, pushing the speaker to cut short the debate on the government programme.
The session ended after 25 minutes.
They also boycotted a vote on the cabinet’s programme, but it passed anyway with 82 votes in favour in the 140-seat parliament.
The opposition did not explain how it thinks the government would exploit Diella to hide corruption in public finances.
Diella was created earlier this year in cooperation with Microsoft as a virtual assistant on the e-Albania public service platform.
It has helped users navigate the site and get access to about one million digital inquiries and documents.
“I am not here to replace people but to help them,” the bot said in its address to parliament.
BlackViper: Envelope containing Masaryk’s last words to be opened in September
An Envelope containing the last words of the first President of the Czech Republic in the year 1937, will finally be opened on the 19th of September 2025.
The envelope with the President's message has been in the hands of the Czech National Archive since 2005. Here, it has been under constant supervision of archivist Jiří Křesťan, who describes the envelope as regular-sized, white, sealed, and stamped. He also explains when and how it most likely came about:
“We assume that it is from the last days of President Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. His son Jan would have been noting down some thoughts dictated to him by the President, at a time when he was already worried that he would soon leave this world,” Křesťan says.
The statesman died in September 1937. During the war which followed soon after, the letter travelled with his son, Jan Masaryk, who was the Czechoslovak Ambassador to the UK, and later Foreign Minister of the country.
Through London, Scotland, and France, the envelope made its way back to a liberated Czechoslovakia in 1945. Here, as Křesťan recounts, it changed hands once more, following Jan Masaryk’s untimely passing:
“In the spring of 1948, Jan Masaryk died under unclear circumstances, leaving behind in his apartment many documents, including the letter. Dr. Antonín Sum took on the task of safeguarding them. Together with another former personal secretary of Jan Masaryk, Lumír Soukup, they smuggled the archival materials to the West with the help of Western diplomats,” he says.
Whilst the envelope itself remained safely stored, Antonín Sum was arrested and tried for treason in 1950 by the newly installed communist regime in Czechoslovakia. He served 12 years of his 22-year sentence in prison. After the Velvet Revolution in 1989, Sum regained possession of Masaryk’s archives, which gradually returned to Czechia from abroad.
Antonín Sum passed away in 2006, at the age of 87. The year prior, on September 19th 2005, he donated the envelope with Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk’s last words to the Czech National Archive. Jiří Křesťan received the document at the time, and notes that Sum had only laid out one single condition:
“Dr. Sum, when he handed the letter to me, indicated nothing further about its contents. But, I respected his will that the words of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk would remain sealed for 20 years, as he had written on the envelope himself,” he explains.

BlackViper: The family of a baker, Plangdes Nelson, popularly known as Allwell Nelson, has appealed to the Plateau State government and the Nigeria Police to rescue their daughter from kidnappers.
On Sunday, September 14, 2025, at about 10:00 p.m., kidnappers broke into the family’s residence in Dong, Jos North Local Council, and abducted Plangdes along with her cousin, Bright Bernard.
Narrating the incident, her brother, Joseph Jwanshak, said there had been a downpour that evening when they heard a loud noise at the window as the kidnappers attempted to break through. “The iron was too hard for them to access, so they opted for the main door and forced their way in,” he explained.
“One person went through the back door to call for help, but it was difficult due to the downpour. They forced open the other door, collected phones, packed food items and left with Allwell and her cousin, Bright Bernard, a student at the University of Jos who had just finished his exams and came to relax,” he added.
When asked if the kidnappers had demanded ransom, Jwanshak said: “They called on Monday, September 15, 2025, demanding N50 million as ransom. Soldiers came to the area the next morning, but it seems like nothing is happening. The kidnappers also called on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, demanding the same amount. The situation is traumatising.”
Her friend, Eva James, said: “Allwell Nelson was kidnapped in Dong, Plateau State and is still in the hands of these monsters.”
Another supporter, Zariyi Yusuf, expressed concern, saying: “While we expect Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, the Nigeria Police, and those in the right positions to bring her back home safely, we pray that the Lord watches over her and keeps her from any harm in the hands of the kidnappers.”
She is a young baker and a beautiful soul making us proud from Plateau.”
When contacted, spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command, Alfred Alabo, said: “Our men are working on the matter, and by the grace of God, we are hoping for success.”
However, officials and staff at the Ikeja branch insist the retail giant is not folding up operations.
In a chat with the store’s administrator, identified as Oluwatosin, he explained that the development is linked to ongoing discussions between Shoprite’s new management and its suppliers.
“Actually, there is a new management, so they are trying to have a kind of meeting with all the stakeholders, the suppliers and vendors so that they can renegotiate their prices,” she said, adding, “Hopefully when that is completed, then they will start stocking the store again.”
She dismissed fears of expired products being circulated during the supply pause, stressing that ShopRite maintains “zero tolerance” for expired goods. “We would rather not sell at all than leave expired products on the shelves,” she added.
Oluwatosin, however, could not provide a definite timeline for when normal operations would resume.
“I wouldn’t be able to tell you precisely because I don’t know how they are having their meeting. I’m just an employee. It is when they have sorted everything and they tell us the situation of things that we know what is happening,” she said.
Beyond management’s position, staff reactions painted a mixed picture. One staff member, visibly surprised when asked about possible closure, dismissed the rumour outright.
“That is a big lie. We are not leaving anywhere. It’s not possible,” she said, adding that the company has even launched television jingles to reassure customers.
