An impressive compendium of a video and Web links related to that now de-escalated ValueJet quagmire. The positives... ValueJet got more free publicity, including the female Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and the First Officer Ivan Oloba.
Second, boarding and security protocols would be further enhanced through better FUNDING with the provision of tasers and handcuffs to easily take down or immobilize future unruly passengers in addition to training and retraining of airport personnel.
One of the surreal and unforgettable scenes (since the first aircraft landed in Kano on November 1st 1925) in Nigerian aviation history... August 2025.
INTEGRITYA1: Clarification on the Report about 176 Allegedly Fake Estates
I’ve received several inquiries regarding the widely circulated report listing 176 estates as “fake.” Let’s set the record straight.
From my understanding, the report may have been quoted out of context.
I’m familiar with some of the estates mentioned and even partner with a few. The truth is, these estates are not necessarily fake, but many of their developers need to comply with the Lagos State Government’s directives.
If the government had truly intended to label them as outright illegal, they wouldn’t have given a 21-day window for the developers to perfect their layout approvals. This clearly shows it’s more of a call to action than a declaration of illegitimacy.
Importantly, this move is not targeted at any individual, group, or tribe. It’s a general directive to all developers, urging them to follow proper procedures and align with state policies.
So, what’s the way forward?
All affected estate developers should immediately engage with the appropriate government agencies to regularize their estate layouts without delay.
Let’s always remember: the safety and sustainability of our communities is a shared responsibility.

Preciousgirl: It's hard for me but I will confess here. My colleague of course male colleague playfully held my waist at the workplace and I got aroused. I have never had feelings for him though. I was a little wet. Have I cheated? Should I confess this to my husband? What really happened since I don't have feelings for the guy? Could that me juju at work?
These kinds of topics that come flying at you on this discussion forum...
NOW, if this story is really true, know this and know peace... There's NO juju at work. You're just in your monthly arousal phase or cycle and it simply coincided with his masculine sensual touch (playfully held your waist) and the novelty of it to lead to some wetness.
You BETTER keep shut forever and NOT let your spouse know what happened otherwise your actions and inactions would lead to dire unintended consequences for you and your male colleague. If you have an emotionally insecure male spouse, he'll become paranoid and begin to get suspicious of your every movement or even force you to leave that job even if your currently don't have an alternative job or private business. Be wise.
lawani: That is why it is a free market. Interest rates normally follow inflation rate. If inflation is high, interest rates will be higher. What obtains presently is a free market and if the US fed is not ethical the dollar will lose its edge. I think it is OK the way it is.
You're right about the bolded. It's simply a cyclical global financial and monetary pattern which discerning folks and investors have to be constantly aware of.
XAUBulls: Dennis Ukume was the Nigerian Ambassador to the Ivory Coast where Ojukwu was exiled after abandoning and fleeing Biafra and whom Ojukwu sent to beg President Shehu Shagari for forgiveness and to grant him amnesty in 1982
Explains how he convinced Shehu Shagari to grant Ojukwu pardon
By Joseph Erunke
NIGERIAN Ambassador to Cote D’Ivoire during late President Shehu Shagari’s administration, Denis Ukume, has disclosed that late Biafra warlord, Odumegwu Ojukwu, wept under his shoulder for forgiveness over role in war.
The 83-year-old claimed Ojukwu agreed to Shagari’s condition to be referred to simply as “Mr” without any military insignia if he (Ojukwu) would be granted pardon for his role in the Nigerian Civil War.
But he said Ojukwu almost marred his chances of being accorded the amnesty when he flouted the condition a few hours after by referring to himself as “General Odumegwu Ojukwu”, in an appreciation letter he wrote to him following his role in the amnesty deal.
Ukume’s claims were contained in his book, titled: “I believe”, which he published among three others, launched in Abuja.
His three other books also launched alongside, were titled, “My Challenges”, Osofinco and Mamma Mia”, respectively.
In the published book, the former Nigerian ambassador also said the then National Party of Nigeria, NPN, had made efforts to frustrate the granting of amnesty to Ojukwu if he would not join the party upon return to Nigeria but that his firm opposition to the party’s leadership condition, led to the amnesty for the late Biafran leader.
“When the Executive Committee members of the National Party of Nigeria, NPN, got wind about the progress being made in connection with the granting of amnesty to Ojukwu, they quickly sent a powerful delegation to me.
“They requested that under no circumstances should amnesty be given to Ojukwu unless he gave an unequivocal undertaking that he would enroll as a member of the NPN on return. I told them clearly that their demand was unacceptable. I reported the matter to the president.
Emeka Ojukwu actually collected his Nigerian Army pensions with the rank of a retired Colonel in the Nigerian Army as of 1967 when he declared secession. This is to emphasize on the FACT that he was NEVER a General as the Ambassador alluded to in his claim that the man's pardon (by the then NPN-led Federal Government) was nearly marred by Ojukwu referring to himself as a "General" which was a misnomer since the secessionist enclave was illegal and was NEVER recognized by the larger international community and the United Nations.
lawani: Why the USA deserves the US dollar dominance.
What the US gains from the US dollar dominance is what every country gains from quantitative easing which is extra revenue for government to spend as a result of printing more currency by the central bank but the benefit is marginal. I even consider it insignificant. The USA does not need it. It is however a plus. Depending on the volume of US dollars outside the US, the US will gain from quantitative easing as if the population of the country were greater. Several estimates exist online.
Some say the USD outside US territory is 45 percent of total, some say it is 23 percent and I have heard of over 50 percent. If outside to inside is 50/50 then the US is gaining from quantitative easing as if her population were well over 600 million and that would be the only benefit. The higher the population collecting your legal tender or the higher the volume in circulation the more the country can gain from quantitative easing. The total volume of US dollar in circulation is about 2.5 trillion dollars and what you can print for QE per annum must be a negligible percentage of that. The US government revenue in 2025 across all the tiers of government is over 7 trillion dollars per annum I believe. This is why I say the benefit in the quantitative easing on the 2.5 trillion dollars in circulation is pretty much insignificant for the USA. All governments have to engage in QE for currency management because if they do not, currency will become scarcer due to losses and population increase.
I have seen video footages of Nigerian yahoo boys flushing wads of naira notes down a toilet to flaunt affluence. There are many other avenues by which currency move out of circulation and if your money supply is stable or decreasing as a country amidst rising population, there can be a kind of distortion as prices of goods will be forced down. There will be deflation.
Then as it stands today, the US dollar is a facility for international trade. Without this facility, international trade will have to be by barter along with its clumsiness. Nobody is forcing anybody to transact in the US dollar but it makes international trade much easier and it is a reliable store of value. As a result of this, Chinese, Indians, Yoruba and etc are happy to transact in it. Nobody is happy to transact in the naira for instance unless at gunpoint because it is not a good store of value.
Then once again, the US does not need the advantage to be prosperous since other nations have been prosperous without having the advantage. However one nation has to take it up and the USA has worked for it. I am an Ijesa man for instance and Ijesa is a Yoruba sub nation that has been around for over a thousand years. It rose from the ruins of more ancient Yoruba nations like Erinmoje that is now defunct. Before the modern era, we bought and paid for our sovereignty in blood and further bled to sustain it. There is a long list of wars. In the past two hundred years alone there have been Pole, Fejeboju, Kiriji and many others. There was no United Nations security council or US military bases scattered around the world to stop nations from going to war against each other but nowadays nation building has become like going to a party for those who want to build their nations at least as far as peace is concerned. It is therefore a Pax Americana that we are enjoying paid for by US tax dollars.
The USA is the capital of the modern world and printing the currency for international trade is just a fringe benefit that they worked for or which came with it. However in the new world of equality that we are fighting for, the bill for security must be picked by all in a jointly funded United Nations
Interesting insights on the historical accendancy of the USD since the Gold Standard was abolished to pave way for the Petrodollar-based global economy.
One of the major downsides of the USD being a global reserve currency is that whenever the United States Federal Reserves increases interest rates, especially with the horrendous global economic downturn from the early 1980s during the former President Shehu Shagari years, it causes recessions in multiple countries and these countries started defaulting in their loan payments which were tied to the USD from international creditors.
So, these sequence of events led to dire global geopolitical consequences such as military coups in countries located in Africa (including Nigeria), Latin-America and more to effect regime changes and that ushered in more corruption and regional instabilities from these military dictatorships and more.

But then again, while the growing macro-economic stability and some other indictors are firming up, the high cost of living for these folks on the street level and the insidious security challenges post by foreign Fula herdsmen and bandits and more which have caused farming communities to stay off there communal lands leading to more poverty in specific major agriculture belts in Nigeria. Although, the Kaduna State Governor and the FG must be commended for bringing to an end the over 10-year Fula herders and indigenous farmers clashes in Birnin Gwari the BIGGEST agriculture belt in Kaduna State thereby leading to the Birnin Gwari farmers becoming Naira billionaires due to bumper harvests as gleaned from the 2025 investigative video reports of the ace investigative journalist, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju of #JH.
These MUST be tackled relentless through multiple actions (constitutional amendments, surveillance and weaponized drones, State and community policing, roll out of more CNG infrastructure to crash food prices, etc, within the 1-year-9 months left for the current Nigerian President 'Bola Tinubu and the State Governors to round off their 4-year term. If they deliver, it's the folks on the street level who would come begging them to complete their second-term in office. Period.
•Minister, experts reiterate commitment to unlocking economic power of land in Nigeria
The Lagos State Government on Tuesday unveiled the pilot phase of its innovative "Identifier" project, a comprehensive digital addressing system designed to streamline geographic house numbering and street naming across the State.
The project, which will kick off in Ikeja, the state capital, next week, was unveiled by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the sideline of the Nigeria Land Titling, Registration and Documentation Programme (NLTRDP) organised by the Lagos State Office of Electronic Geographic Information System (e-GIS) and Urban Development in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, at Victoria Island.
The digital house numbering system, a sophisticated approach designed to allocate a unique digital identity to each building throughout Lagos State, will play a crucial role in facilitating seamless navigation for emergency responders, utility personnel, and local residents, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
Speaking during the display of the house numbering plates, Governor Sanwo-Olu said the project is aimed at providing a unique digital identity to every property, enhancing navigation, service delivery, and overall urban management.
He said: "Lagos digital house numbering system is a novel idea. It is about technology, and that is one of the things that we are trying to achieve: using technology as a strong enabler to be able to resolve all our land issues, where from the comfort of your house you can access and resolve land title issues.
"It is still a journey, and we are not there yet, but this digital house numbering system is really more about ensuring that if you can get the address of a property, all the information that is needed on that property can be accessed, and people will see it."
Speaking about the Nigeria Land Titling, Registration and Documentation Programme, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the Federal Government for the Renewed Hope Agenda initiative to unlock the economic power of land.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said electronic land documentation is the only way forward to reduce physical interference and build a future where land rights are secured.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on e-GIS and Urban Development, Dr Olajide Babatunde, said Lagos State Government is committed to the project embedded with QR codes and local government-specific colour codes for easy identification.
He said the digital house numbering system project is a significant step towards modernising Lagos' infrastructure and improving the quality of life for its residents.
Dr Babatunde said with the successful implementation of the "Identifier project", Lagos State expects to see improvements in security, revenue generation, and overall efficiency in service delivery.
He said: "House numbering and documentation has to do with ownership. So one of the byproducts of titling and documentation in land administration is also house numbering and digital addressing systems. So this is a digital addressing system.
"The digital house numbering is part of technology, and at the back end, we have all the information that we can share with the public. You can scan the QR code to get the information about a land, particularly bills and some other important information that we may need to know whether a building has an approval or not. We are now in the age of technology. We need to embrace technology."
Speaking earlier, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Dangiwa, announced plans to improve land title to 50 per cent in the next 10 years as part of the efforts being put in place to unlock the economic power of land in Nigeria.
He said the initiative is aimed at modernising land administration and making land a viable asset for wealth creation, house delivery and inclusive growth, noting that states will retain full control over land administration.
According to the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, over 97 per cent of land in Nigeria is not formally titled, limiting its use as collateral for loans and its value in property transactions.
He noted that with this initiative, all other states can now commence digitisation of land registries, integrate geographic information systems and adopt global best practices which have already been implemented in Lagos State.
TheBizGenius: I applaud your actions, and your use of English.
It's simply refreshing to finally be validated that I am not alone.
Thank you. And I sincerely mean it.
@Thebizgenius
My pleasure.
Indeed, I must emphasize that I ONLY just noticed your moniker for the FIRST time EVER today and can affirm that there are VERY brilliant contributors like you and others on this discussion forum (of nearly all age groups tbh) which I've ORIGINALLY been a veteran member of for 20 years now (since 2005). I would have long ditched this Website if it wasn't for these fantastic make and female contributes and the FACT that a lot of investment and business data mining can be done here, BUT there's ALSO been a very relentless toxic strand, of LARGELY young posters (who are paid secessionist trolls who the "BBC Global Disinformation Team" investigative video report EXPOSED in a May 2022 video, and other random posters with poor comprehension skills) who suddenly started emerging from just around the 2014 Presidential election cycle till date with the young man who owns this site still struggling to find ways to contain the menace with the low-budget AI tool he implemented that CANNOT even distinguish between constructive "fair comments" and "comments that violate the rules of NK and which truly fit into the definition of disinformation and hate speech."
DeOTR: You can't even use ChatGPT in my company without getting fired the next hour and it's an American organization.
Whoa! That's interesting. Based off of these insights here, your American workplace MUST be a very security-sensitive zone.
Every company management indeed has the prerogative to do what is best for their long-term survival and even though I use CGPT among others on the personal level, I'm gonna start focusing on ensuring that these AI tools do NOT cause any negatives in my firms' operations from here on out.
I question how people are no longer civil in discussions and relationships these days. Am I the one that has become old school or there is a new "normal" that I am unaware of?
Like I usually tell people around me, you have a right to activism (external) but ask yourself first if you have done civism (internal).
I just tire for the whole generation.
You've brilliantly stated the FACTS with the reference to "external activism and internal civism." The red flags (a total lack of online civility and impulsiveness or knee-jerk responses on the parts of these youngsters) are usually there for all to see and I just use dialectics to simply thrust their infractions right back at them to see their errors before sending them behind the curtain where they truly belong.
EponObi: Next time, when a discuss is beyond your range, just keep quiet or move along.
A succinctly stated response to that boy. There's indeed a significant number of clueless simpletons derailing threads online and they have to be sent (with firmness) behind the curtain where they truly belong.
descarado: Its not only chatgbt that we have in this world.
I dont even use it. Has very scanty info.
If you expand your research work on what you get from chatgbt, you may end up with an average mark. I prefer deepseek and it's owned by china. Who uses chatgbt when there is deepseek?
Because it's from America?
Aside from the perceived invasive security concerns, there's NOTHING wrong with CGPT if you use the right prompts (which a lot of folks with average tech knowledge on the street level don't know how to use).
However, DeepSeek is a beast on it's own, but China too isn't blameless when it comes to espionage or spying on people's privacies.
However, I want to see more emphasis placed on constructing the ENTIRE stretch of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway from multiple points in the Calabar end in Cross River, Bayelsa, and Delta States to speed up the process so as to deliver the massive project in record time.
Last but NOT least, it's called a "coastal" highway because the highway is meant to largely pass through the Nigerian States that are contiguous to OR share direct boundaries with the Atlantic Ocean and it doesn't mean the highway will be constructed or pass along the direct shores of the Atlantic Ocean as WRONGLY imagined by some folks which would involve heavier costs especially in the enervating swamplands of Bayelsa and Rivers States. Period.
InvertedHammer: / Contrary to public opinion, this kind of tokenism celebration is an insult to the black race especially the ones in America. There are many black pilots in AirPeace, Maxair, IbomAir, etc and the larger African continent. What exactly is special about this one? /
ValueJet... The female Captain Oluranti Ogoyi of ValueJet who was involved in the recent Kwam 1 aircraft boarding incident.
While I agree that it's good to acknowledge the presence of these air amazons of color worldwide, I do agree as well that it's tokenism when focus is made on only few of them. A central Website database to chronicle these women's achievements would serve to inspire both young males and females to unless their unlimited potentials.
Racoon: The 48 Laws of Power book come from Robert Greene's book The 48 Laws of Power, in which Greene culls lessons from the lives of powerful historical figures to distill a set of laws that you can follow to become powerful in your own life
At night, airplanes are equipped with navigation lights that help identify the direction they're flying. These lights follow an international standard and are installed in specific locations on the aircraft:
• 🔴 RED light: always on the LEFT wing • 🟢 GREEN light: always on the RIGHT wing • ⚪ WHITE light: located at the TAIL of the PLANE (rear)
These lights are visible in the night sky and have an essential function: allowing other pilots or observers to know the direction of flight, even at great distances. With a little attention, you can understand whether an airplane is coming toward you, moving away, or crossing the sky from one side to the other.
🧭 What Does Each Combination of Lights Mean? • 1). Green Light + White Light → The plane is flying from left to right relative to you. You are seeing the right side (green) and the rear (white).
• 2). Red Light + White Light → The plane is moving from right to left. You can see the left side (red) and the rear (white).
• 3). Green Light + Red, No White Light → The plane is coming toward you. You can see the front of the aircraft. The tail light (white) is not visible.
• 4). White Light in the Center and the Other Colors further away → The plane is moving away. You can see the tail of the aircraft.
🚨 Why is this Important?
These lights are not just decorative. They are part of an air safety system that allows pilots to avoid collisions and maintain awareness of the position of other aircraft in the airspace. Especially when flying at night or in poor visibility conditions, these lights can save lives.
🌌 Fun Fact: This color scheme is so universal that even maritime vessels use it—ships and boats also have green (port) and red (starboard) lights to indicate direction. In other words, it's an internationally adopted visual code for navigation, whether at sea or in the air. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/14JjdhQK1j2/
Impressive takes.

Skydivine: Is Michael Bonner a Judge that he would have the power to “clear” anyone of case that was before a US judge?
Until you present to us, a court document signed by a Judge regarding the forfeiture, no educated person will take you seriously.
The investigations and original court case ended long ago right in 1993 when the U.S. Federal judge acquited the now President 'Bola Tinubu of ANY crimes or drug-related links like I stated in my FIRST EVER response to you. The civil forfeiture of 460,000 USD was the ONLY thing Tinubu with the remaining money OR balance "returned" right into his 8 U.S. bank accounts and he promptly flew back to Nigeria after clearing his name. This was in 1993 and I remember that case because it was in the media in 1993.
Then again in February 2003, in response to the PDP-led Federal Government of Nigeria's request to find out if the then Governor 'Bola Tinubu of Lagos State had any criminal records in the FBI's National Crime Information Center (NCIC) central database which contains ALL the names of those ever arrested with criminal convictions on United States soil, and Michael Bonner an Attorney who was the Legal Attache of the United States Embassy in Lagos State forwarded a response to the Police Investigators led by the then Police IGP, Tafa Balogun emphasizing that the the Governor 'Bola Ahmed Tinubu had NO criminal convictions hence has NEVER been involved in drug crimes.
The United States Embassy is an extension of U.S. territory or soil, and this is why if you launch a terror attack on any U.S. Embassy worldwide, it's a direct attack on the United States. Same with an attack on any country's Embassy worldwide.
The newly signed Cyber Crimes Act of 2025 is already in FULL effects with corresponding heavy punitive measures to end online disinformation and this is why I've detailed this out for you and others these CLEAR facts because I can see that your post error was NOT intentional but based on the deliberate disinformation you read from those opaque online sources. Obstinate people WILL definitely be picked up by the intelligence agencies for repeatedly spreading massive disinformation with the intent to cause chaos such as these here on NL and other online platforms. Reno Omokri himself having properly educated himself about that 1993 court case has retracted his earlier campaign and politically-motivated accusations being a UK-educated lawyer himself. Ignorance of the law is NOT an excuse. Period.
ImI've emphasized enough and will end my convo here and NOW.
