Na for you ooh! in as much as KWAM 1 action is condemnable and deserves retribution by law, does not in any stretch of imagination constitute an hijack!

Hijacking, as defined in aviation law, requires the unlawful seizure or exercise of control over an aircraft while it is in flight.

KWAM 1 was involved in an incident at the airport where he allegedly obstructed the aircraft's movement and had a heated exchange with airport officials.

KWAM 1's Actions:
KWAM 1 was involved in an incident at the airport where he allegedly obstructed the aircraft's movement and had a heated exchange with airport officials.

Not Onboard:
Crucially, KWAM 1 was not onboard the aircraft when the incident occurred.

Aviation Violations:
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is investigating the incident as a potential violation of aviation regulations, not as hijacking.

Terrorism Allegations:
Some have labeled KWAM 1's actions as terrorism, but this is an overstatement, especially given that he was not on board the aircraft and did not take control of it.
In essence, while KWAM 1's actions were disruptive and potentially dangerous, they do not meet the legal definition of hijacking.
Very well emphasized FACTS.

She isn't innocent, she was told to switch her phone off, not asked to put it in aircraft mode. She then had to be repeatedly told to do so and still refused.

The airline was at fault stopping her getting off and dragging her out as it is the police that should do that. However to call the little rat innocent is going to far. Hopefully, next time she travels by road or sea, she doesn't have to switch her precious phone off then?
@aswani

LARGELY well said. The last paragraph cracked me up.

BUT then, the pilot had earlier contacted the airport security men to deboard her which is the standard way to deal with unruly passengers on board most commercial aircraft. The security men didn't come in the nick of time hence it gave that girl the time to get more unruly and she gave the air hostess a hot slap in the face. She also held on to the curtain and got violent and resisted arrest by the airport security men when they finally arrived. This led to her forcible removal due to her resistance and her b@@bs spilled right out of her torn top due to her violent resistance to being deborded.

At least she should have worn a bra. How can she wear such skimpy top without a bra? How can one embark on a journey like that without dressing properly?

I was really ashamed on her behalf watching the video
Succinctly stated. It was that female passenger's violent actions of resistance when the airport security men came to arrest her (after the pilot had earlier contacted the security men to deboard her) that led to her cleavages popping right out of her top wear which got torn in full camera view based on the 4 FULL video I watched on IG and YouTube. It's obvious that the Comfort Emmanson girl was ignorant of in-flight protocols and was also engaged in substance use hence that violence and near-psychotic behavior.

However, this is a wake up call to properly equip the airport security men with tasers, and more handcuffs to properly restrain unruly passengers like that girl so that other lone wolves or terror groups don't take advantage of some of the inneficiences in the airport security protocol.
PoliticsRe: IBOM AIR FRACAS : Other Passengers Narrative Contradicts Airline by Konquest:

Both sides were wrong. airline security were completely unprofessional (by posting the woman nudes online and the way she was restrained). they need proper training on ways to properly restrain an unruly passenger. they should have been there before any person disembark from the plane and should have gone straight to her seat and have her cuffed behind her back.

The final power lies in the flight crew.
if she was asked to switch off her phones she must obey that order disobeying that lawful order is an offence. it is irrelavant if the phone is put on flight mode or not. if the order was your phone should be switched off or put on flight mode. then you could do any.
Impressive takes and a balanced POV.

You're practically the ONLY one on this thread who made the most sense and you truly understand what happened based off of the credible 4 FULL videos I watched on IG and YouTube just two days ago which revealed that female passenger's unruly and violent actions onboard the Air Ibom aircraft. I fly frequently by air and I abhor such kinds of insidious behaviors from IRRESPONSIBLE people like that.

I think God want to use Comfort Emmanson's case to deal with K1. if not for this lady, everything would have died down, anyone pleading on behalf of K1 will now see as a bad and bias person. Ms Comfort did worse to K1 than herself.
God is impersonal and has nothing to do with this. On the contrary, that unruly girl did far WORSE to herself for physically assaulting cabin crew and the security men with hot slaps and kicks while resisting arrest. Her irresponsible violent resistance led to her cleavages flying out of her blouse which got torn in the process. Both airport situations are totally different. One (involving Kwam 1) apparently went to the cockpit side and front of the plane as seen in the videos and was joined by other men who continued to talk to him with NO case of physical assault by Kwam 1 while the other highly unruly female passenger onboard the Ibom Air flight was violent in the 4 different FULL videos I watched 2 days ago while she physically assaulting and slapped the members of the airline cabin crew (air hostesses) including some punches and kicks used on the security men who came to arrest her on the plane after the pilot had contacted the airport security about her unruly behavior. Physical assault of another person is crime that can land unruly people in jail. Ignorance of the law is NOT an excuse.

And that, my friends, is where we’ll pause this epic road movie. 🚍✨

I set out to share a traveller’s tale , part comedy, part survival manual, part Lord, see me through.

Because I also carried my Oil for Hair n Beards called Rakamo Oil to push my brand into Ghana

I wanted to paint the checkpoints, the suya stops, the stubborn drivers, the Uber attitude, and even the bladder emergencies, so anyone planning to ply my route, from Port Harcourt to Accra would know exactly what they’re signing up for and be guided.

But alas… in true Nairaland fashion, my story got hijacked like 2023 Election.

Somewhere between Badagry and Aflao, my travel story was forcefully deported into Tribal War Season 9 by some Ill mannered people without home training or the stomach to see others succeed.

Yes you! Am talking about you, you know yourselves.

And I’m not here for that.

So, like a wise passenger who smells trouble at a dodgy checkpoint, I’m stepping off here. 🛑

But don’t think the journey is over , oh no!,

The real gist, the behind-the-scenes, the uncut footage, and the final chapters are waiting for you where people actually care about the trip, not the tribe.

Catch the rest on my travel blog and vlogs. Because here, it’s no longer about Lagos to Accra.

It’s about Lagos to Sense.

For those of you that like violence in this Nairaland, I pray that you begin to receive sense. IJN

That's cool. This'll give some of us folks who are busy with other priorities the latitude to read up the thread fully and head on over to your other platforms.

After all the wahala on the road, we finally rolled into Accra Mall at after midnight.
Some passengers started dropping off, so I quickly called my sister to tell her, “Omo, I don land for Accra Mall o.”

She said, “Good, just come down there and find a ride to East Legon Hills.”
No wahala until I started asking around and the drivers began quoting 150 Ghana Cedis.

I don't know who told them that once they see a Nigerian, it's billing time but as I no be Billie Jean, The Nigerian in me immediately opened my mental calculator… when I saw the naira conversion, I almost fainted.

150 cedis just to carry me? Na transport or plot of land?

While I was still negotiating and frowning, my airtime finished classic village people like some bitter Nairalanders move.

I had to wait until my sister called me back and sent an Uber because I am new with the SIM card and I didn't know how to recharge.

Finally, the Uber guy arrived. I was happy… until I saw his face.

The man looked like I had just stolen his babe.

He didn’t even greet me or exchange pleasantries, and to crown it all, he stood there watching while I carried my heavy bags into his car by myself.

Omoh na so Ghanians dey huh

At that moment, I started thinking: So some Ghanaians no dey friendly like that sha…

Maybe he thought I came to steal his girlfriend or marry his sister.

We started moving, and then out of nowhere, the guy increased the volume of his radio at past midnight!
I was looking at him like, Bros, wetin be this?

I politely told him to reduce it… he acted like he didn’t even hear me. Na so I stylishly reach forward and reduced the volume myself. Peace restored. If you do anyhow you go see my rage this night. grin

From Accra Mall through the quiet streets, past a few speed bumps and patches of bad road and some police check points, we finally pulled into East Legon Hills.

One thing I observed was that the police on the roads were polite.

Then we arrived my destination, you know that Uber sound when you have reached your destination , it sounded like victory at last at about 01:15am on Monday 14th and the moment I stepped down and saw my sister ,my blood, my padi, whom I hadn’t seen in four years!

Omo, my tiredness vanished. I just thanked God and smiled at last all powerful master you have granted me the strength to continue and stay resilient despite all.

To be continued…

Special Dedication to God Almighty for journey mercies and thank you all.

Peace profound
It's brilliant that you chronicled your first ever journey by road to Accra. By the way, what year did you ORIGINALLY make that trip to Accra, Ghana?

It's good to take calculated travel decisions such as this as it expands your opportunities and worldview. I've been to nearly all the continents but one. Ghana is indeed in a league of it's own with the ubiquitous Twi language and more. I love the beautiful real estate landscape with the Ayi Mensah Park and Oyarifa Park leading the pack as they both remind me of the same international standard and attention to landscaping details of Lakowe Lakes Golf and Country Estate on the Lekki Peninsula.
The nearby Cote D'Ivoire too which I visited by commercial air in 1988 is simply on another level with the well-planned boulevards in Abidjan right from the international airport to the city center. Every country I've visited has a distinctive vibe based off of their regional differences due to cultures, foods and attitudes to life.

Def on the high side,I used to get something better than this for $30. There are other sellers on fb market for half that price.
Those selling at higher mark up prices on FB marketplace will learn some punishing lessons when those of us the internet-savvy buyers (who engage in online comparison shopping) totally ignore or weed them out. The Internet ecosystem can be ruthless for those who don't adapt to the current trends in the retail space.

Out of curiosity, I look forward to tasting "Abacha" and even the other dish called "Nsukka Okpa" down the road (I've read and heard about both from some food YouTubers and on this discussion forum within the last 10 years).

I thoroughly enjoyed the deep insights on this thread topic!

I ship sweet delicious smoked Oven Dried CatFish to an African store in UK.

They buy it at 19,000. That like 9 pounds. For 1 kg.

The African store buys it so cheap from me.

Then I discovered how much they sell 1kg of the Oven Dried catfish to UK people.

They sell for 27 pounds to UK people.

African foodstuffs are so expensive abroad.

It's best you buy the foodstuffs directly from Nigeria.

The woman that owns African store is making good money from the business.

And she told me she sells it from her house.

She also said people are always buying especially Nigerians and Ghanaians.

UK people. I hail una.
That's indeed what some Diasporan folks are starting to do or they ask relatives on the Continent to package and ship these items to them. Asian stores too could be a better option depending on where you live.

This thread is quite insightful. LARGELY brilliant responses too.

You are totally right but for a FB order, its a rip off considering that I had ordered a better dish for $30 bucks off of FB market.
That's the real meat or thrust of the thread topic. I want to believe that a significant number of the ingredients used to make the cuisine can be gotten locally in the United States, or alternatively from Latin-American as and/or Caribbean countries (since they grow tropical food crops and cash crops just like in tropical Africa and Asia) and NOT shipped directly from Africa, so, the FB marketplace retail price shouldn't be that high.

Some people just fix high prices for their products subjectively and hence put potential clients off. Some of us among the Diasporan folks can afford to spend that 60 USD from time to time BUT the thought of being ripped of can indeed be off-putting for some.

Standard procedures have to be followed. For promptly apologizing, he'll definitely get a lighter punishment and eventual pardon down the line. As an "Olori Omo Oba" of Ijebu Ode, a presitigious aristocratic title, he should be seen to be above board ALWAYS. He could have been injured or worse if the wing of the ValuJet aircraft had hit him right in the head as it taxied off. Kwam 1 ALSO has to do more comprehensive checks medically because some irrational actions emanate from medical issues which he did emphasize in the apology video where he CLEARLY stated that his doctor adviced him to have water readily available due to dehydration which can cause irritability.

The other highly unruly girl on that Air Ibom flight who physically assaulted the air hostesses with hot slaps and the security men who came to arrest her with kicks was CLEARLY involved in some substance abuse intake for her repeated violent acts and responses. Based on the law, assault is a crime and she'll have her day in court. Period.

Among the Igbo delicacies, I used to like this particular food a lot. Its called , Abacha. The last time I was in Nigeria, I was practically chasing Abacha sellers down the street in order to buy.

Now, checking the local Facebook Market, I came across this post from a seller in my neighborhood.

A plate of Abacha for $60? I think this is over the top and we like to hike the prices of our goods wherever we find ourselves.

What so you think? Is this price reasonable ?
This is interesting.

I've never eaten that but I think $60 is a bit pricy for that kind of delicacy I'm seeing right there in the screenshot. It's highly disrespectful for some people to mark up retail prices of their foods and more just to make FAST bucks off of people's sweats. We all have the prerogative to buy or NOT to buy anyway.

However folks online MUST ALSO be extra careful about buying things online though as people have LOST a lot of hard-earned money due to FAKE ads on FB and Instagram. Some gullible people for instance lost a lot of money from buying supposed raw ponmo and more from Facebook and got ghosted (by supposed legit merchants who seemed genuine after conversation on phone originally) after promising to deliver several kilos of that item.

Demanded for security to pick her up once they landed ... when they landed , other passengers were allowed to leave and they prevented her from leaving, to enforce the arrest , that's where te video started, the air hostess prevented her from leaving tye aircraft ... then when security officials arrived the aircraft , she refused to leave an took out the fire extinguisher to attack them , they disarmed her and dragged her out ...during the process , she held on to the curtain resisting arrest... the airhostess tried to drag the curtain from her as she held on to it as they were dragging her out of the plane , that's why her top pulled out and her jugs were exposed ... so what wrong did the air hostess do ?? Why can't some Nigerians follow rules??
@cr7lomo
A highly Impressive, fact-based post from you here.

Indeed, the problem of Nigeria largely comes from those Nigerian people on the street level who thrive on rumors and primordial ethnic innuendoes! They throw accusing fingers at the politicians and technocrats in government BUT are themselves WORSE in character and NOT blameless in their ways while trying to cheat their fellow citizens for quick profits through all kinds of economic sabotage.

It's once again obvious that MOST of the people posting in support of that highly IRRESPONSIBLE girl named Comfort Emmanson haven't yet seen the FULL videos of what happened on board the aircraft and off the aircraft (perhaps due to NOT having funds for Internet data OR pure laziness to do some basic FACT-CHECKS) which CLEARLY show that she was very unruly and physically assaulted the crew members and security men. Kwam 1 CLEARLY didn't assault ANYBODY with hot slaps like that unruly girl on Ibom Air did to some crew members, so, it's highly IRRESPONSIBLE for a section of the media and random bloggers to even compare the two or three independent airport events by terming the situations as a Kwam 1, Kwam 2, and even a Kwam 3 which I hear also took place in Kano.

Second, I ALSO CLEARLY took the time to watch 4 different videos yesterday on that highly unruly female passenger on the Ibom Air flight and came off with the SAME information and inferences like you. Being a frequent internationally flyer myself who is cognisant of the importance of airline safety, I was curious to know MORE about what happened hence I had to do my due diligence by watching the FULL videos of that event.

There's enough blames to go round from poor lapses in the response time by the security men who came to deboard that girl and more, BUT the BIGGEST BLAME goes to that female passenger for assaulting the air hostesses with slaps and the security men with direct kicks and hits.

Her "cleavages" ALSO CLEARLY slided out of her white top simply because she was turning violently while resisting arrest as seen in the videos. If she had obeyed and quietly complied, the boobs exposure and torn blouse drama wouldn't have occured.

In any event, NEXT time, just as I stated right ABOVE in a previous post, a taser and handcuffs would have immobilized that female passenger who I have NO doubt is involved in substance abuse if properly checked.
This is a blessing in disguise though and an opportunity for major Nigerian airports to be upgraded through proper funding in terms of boarding and security protocols.

Maxymilliano:
https://punchng.com/nba-condemns-ibom-airs-treatment-of-passenger-demands-investigation/
This is an attempt at being politically correct by the NBA guys. I've seen 4 different FULL videos of that Ibom Air aircraft episode where that highly unruly girl was deborded from the aircraft. The girl displayed violent actions, slapping female air hostesses and resisted arrest by the security men who were called in by the airline to get that girl (Comfort Emmanson) off the aircraft. They had to forcibly carry her out of the plane and because she was furiously turning around while putting up resistance, her cleavages popped right out of her blouse because she had no bra.

This is ALSO a HUGE LESSON for standard security protocols to be followed when debording unruly passengers like that girl (which is common worldwide). She ALSO CLEARLY has to be taken for medical evaluation to ensure that she isn't involved in substance abuse.

The use of tasers and handcuffs by the security men would have immediately immobilized her when she resisted arrest after using a fire extinguisher to cause some damage and slapping the female air hostess
of Ibom Air.

I can affirm CLEARLY that as a frequent flyer who has seen and encountered situations on airlines and at airports around the world for years, it's totally important for boarding and security protocols to be upgraded at ALL Nigerian airports to prevent terror groups and lone wolves from taking advantage of these security lapses from the security men. The response time between when the Ibom Air Captain (pilot) signalled the security men to come over and deboard that highly unruly female passenger off the airplane was too SLOW hence giving time the time to slap another female air hostess who initially stood at the entrance of the aircraft right in the face. ALL Ibom Air crew and other airlines ALSO CLEARLY have to embark on trainings in de-escalation of situations. That air hostess too who stood at the aircraft entrance as seen in one of the 4 revealing video I've seen since yesterday on IG and YouTube could have easily been pushed down if that unruly female passenger who slapped her had gone completely bunkers.

TravelRe: My Journey To Ghana! Stay Tuned by Konquest:
FreeIgboho:
Has it occured to you that Ghana of 1988 was much better than Ghana of today - just like Nigeria
I differ a bit on Ghana's status which has obviously improved since 1988... I also MUST emphasize that Nigeria is a work in progress based on the 1988 and 2025 Nigeria that I know so well. Infrastructure-wise, Nigeria is different with more modernity, BUT economic-wise, I believe it will get better within the next two years with some political and economic frameworks such as the constitutional amendments being put in place and the gradual decentralization of items from the EXCLUSIVE list to the CONCURRENT list. As of today, Nigerian States can NOW build power plants and generate electricity. Security around Nigeria would improve exponentially with more surveillance and weaponized drones alongside the proposed community and State Policing. Lagos State is already gearing up to totally crash the price of food items by 50% of the current value (as announced by the brilliant FIRST EVER female Commissioner for Agriculture in Lagos State, Ms. Abisola Olusanya in June 2025 and the launch of 150 CNG-fuel 40ft haulage trucks under the "Produce for Lagos" program which other State Governors and their Commissioners for Agriculture in Enugu, Rivers, Ogun, Kano States, etc, can copy and adapt to their own unique ecosystems.

Just as I stated, I flew by a commercial wide-bodied airplane (an Airbus A-310) right into a weather-beaten Kotoka Airport, Accra in Ghana en route to the nearby well-planned Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire in 1988. The Airbus aircraft later took off and landed at the Felix Houphoet-Boigny International Airport in Abidjan where I went to on an international conference at Hotel D'Ivoire in the Cocody area and more.

The Ghana of 2025 is way more developed than the Ghana of 1988. The Kotoka International Airport was just an ordinary-looking airport (littered with some broken down air planes) BUT as of the turn of 2020 has now been modernised to international standards with more modern airports built as well in Ghanaian cities since my first visit to Ghana in 1988. Accra is even more beautiful than it ever was in the 1980s with wider roads and more tourist and business infrastructure. This is why it's absolutely IRRESPONSIBLE that some creeps with origins from Nigeria who don't care about the image of where they come from went to Ghana to relentlessly commit heinous crimes for over 20 years now cumulatively based on the many arrests made by the Ghana Police, then the intelligence and mass media reports which I'm privy to over the years which really upset Ghanaian citizens more thereby tarnishing the conducive environment for other innocent Nigerians and triggered the recent mass protests of July 2025 right into August 2025. Keeping "a good reputation" around the world is a pure act of "SELF-AWARENESS" which really matters for personal branding and global respect.

Second, the political space is more democratic and the people are still largely friendly if you have a pure heart BUT once you cross the line, Ghanaians will NOT tolerate NONSENSE. Ghana just recently discovered more crude oil and gas reserves in addition to what they have before now so in addition to higher cocoa prices and higher gold reserves from their gold mines, things are ONLY gonna look up for Ghana and Ghanains now and down the road.

Back in the 1970s and 1980s when Ghanaian immigrants and other foreign expats from Britain, the United States, India, Bangladesh, etc, came into Nigeria to work in the academic space (primary, secondary, Unis) and industries due to the oil boom, I had contacts and made timeless friendships with Ghanain folks some of who are still my buddies based in the United States right till today who started leaving Nigeria with their families for greener pastures in Europe, Canada and America starting from 1986 (due to the Gen. IBB era of the economically challenging Structural Adjustment Program or SAP).

You are obviously using "passive-aggresive" tactics to try to silence me and deflect attention from the pure facts stated in my post and I find that highly offensive.

I NEVER mentioned any ethnic group in my post on this same thread BUT you allowed yourself to get needlessly emotional and riled up. As a veteran member of this website since 2005, I ABSOLUTELY DON'T owe you ANY apologies for stating my honest opinions on the pure FACTS and statistics that are already well-known in the international public domain which have been published by the international mass media and based on Police and criminal intelligence reports which I'm privy to for over 25 years now from the Ghanain Police and from other jurisdictions around the world. There are recent Web links which I will attach right BELOW as evidence to confirm the sequence of events which led to the mass protests in Ghana! For your information, I have a long-term background in criminal investigations.

On the contrary, YOU (as an Imo indigene) are infact the one displaying signs of a "tribalistic agenda" if YOU CANNOT accept the honest truth or reality which brings about self-awareness and social reforms. Just recently, the Anambra State Governor bluntly declared in a viral video while in the United States in July 2025 that 99.99% of the crimes committed in Anambra State are done by people who are indigenous to his home state and NOT outsiders such as the Fulas as being FALSELY circulated. For stating the obvious TRUTH, some of his irresponsible kinsmen attacked him for stating the obvious while a few others applauded him.

There are 2 famous ancient mantras which state CLEARLY that:
1] "Man, Know Thyself" and

2] "The TRUTH Will Set You FREE"

Last but NOT least, I'm attracted to people who uphold the truth (NOT ethnic bigots using passive-aggresive tactics while masquerading as altruistic people). If you don't like my honest opinion on anything I post here as a veteran NL member of 20 years (and the TRUTH is too hot for you to handle) then skip right over any of my posts and kick rocks. One of the biggest lessons that hit me on this journey?
Even when you hurry, destiny has its own timing.

Despite our early departure, we got caught in the lockdown at Ojodu Berger.
We could see Lagos the city was right in front of us but the border was sealed.
Police had already locked it down because of the elections.
There were vehicles ahead of us, everyone restless.
Some were cussing.
Some tried to squeeze their way in.
Then a warning shot pierced the air.

At that moment, I knew it was serious.

But as a Port Harcourt guy man, hearing a gunshot didn’t faze me. I jumped down from the bus and started asking questions.
Went straight to the frontline to see with my own eyes whether it was Temu or Alibaba we were dealing with 😂.
Don’t mind me.

I quickly made arrangements with the bus boy to carry my box to a nearby park.
I believed if I could just cross the border on foot, I'd find a vehicle or bike to take me to Mile 2.
I’d heard those “last-minute Lagos bikes” in the news this was my chance to meet one.

So I began trekking into Lagos.

Omoh...
No vehicle.
No bike.
Only sun, dust, and aching legs.

I considered going back.
But when I looked behind me, I’d come too far.
And when I looked ahead, all I saw was more Lagos.
To make it worse, my phone went off Google Map gone.

But life has a way of sending angels in human form.
While heading towards Ikeja, I met a good Samaritan who offered not just his company, but a power bank too.
At that point, it felt surreal but it was exactly what I needed:
A moment of hope,
A little motivation,
A reason to keep going.

Just when I was ready to give up the trek, that last-minute Lagos bike appeared.
It had a passenger already, and the price wasn’t smiling but I didn’t have any options.
I hopped on.

And with the wind on my face and hope in my chest, we zoomed off...

Heading to Mile 2. On the road to Maza Maza.

Stay tuned.

Drop a like to motivate this real-life tale of grit, grace, and Godspeed.
Interesting insights.

I booked a night bus ticket — the plan was simple: get to Lagos by morning.
YSG had already informed us that, due to the Local Government elections in Lagos on Saturday, the buses would leave early — around 5 PM — to beat the expected roadblocks and delays.

Our journey began from Port Harcourt, passing through Owerri, Onitsha, and Delta.
By God’s grace, the road was smooth.
A few moments of traffic tried to test our patience, but we kept moving.
Then came Edo State — the roads turned rough, the journey tested our endurance.
But we pushed through.
We weathered the eye of the storm.

Past the struggle, we entered Ore with the strength of overcomers.
And soon, we were cruising through Sagamu — hopeful, faithful, not knowing what lay ahead…
But still holding on to faith in God.

By 6:25 AM, we arrived at Ojodu Berger, Lagos.
And then...
It began.
The very thing we had tried to avoid.

But that’s a story for another page.

P.s: It was night bus so I took a night picture. Cheese!!!! grin grin grin cool cool cool

Stay tuned.

Ghana you hear on the news is different from the Ghana you will see when you land.

Ghana is a very peaceful country, nobody will harass you in Ghana they are not like Nigerians that look for trouble unless you start misbehaving.

I have lived there before precisely Accra for good 2 years plus. To be sincere with you if you live in Ghana for one month you won't like to live in Nigeria again.

A lot of Nigerians are doing well there, majority of them married Ghanaians.

Even the ones that are into Cyber games can never think of relocating back to 9ja, because you can't compare Ghana police or immigration with Nigerian police.
My FIRST time in Ghana was in 1988 by air en route to the beautiful city of Abidjan in Cote D'Ivoire.

BUT in reality, Ghanains are very friendly until you offend them then they can be unforgiving. The recent protests against several well-documented crimes by foreigners from Nigeria in their country (through mass media reports with the full names of those arrested published by the Ghana Police) and that illegal Eze Ibo guy parading himself around illegally using the HRM title were the final triggers for the mass protests by Ghanains.

Credible information reaching me is that some Ghananian landlords are refusing to rent houses to specific people from Nigeria due to those crimes committed in their country.

In any event, as long as you are documented legally in Ghana, then you are free to stay. The target is getting the illegal or undocumented Nigerians out of Ghana.

I've just seen some video scenes on IG about that girl named Comfort Emmanson right BELOW. Character-wise, that girl is naturally a wild person for earlier slapping two air hostesses tbh. She then slapped another woman right in the aircraft just right before she was dragged out while resisting being deborded. It's obvious that the girl is on some hard drugs.

This is sad

Ghana's ministers of defence and environment have died in a military helicopter crash in the central Ashanti region, along with six other people, a government spokesperson says.

Chief of Staff Julius Debrah told a press conference that Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment, Science and Technology Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed had been killed in the crash, which he described as a "national tragedy".

Earlier, the Ghana Armed Forces said the aircraft, which was carrying three crew and five passengers had gone "off the radar".

It had taken off from the capital, Accra, at 09:12 local time (and GMT) and was heading to the gold-mining town of Obuasi for a national event.

The authorities have not confirmed the cause of the crash.

The chief of staff has directed the country's flags to fly at half-mast.

He extended condolences to "the servicemen who died in service to the country," on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama and the government.
I saw this earlier as a breaking news on some major international news networks.

My condolences to the families of those who passed on in this helicopter crash, and to the people of Ghana.
PoliticsRe: LASG Urges Residents In Lekki, Ikorodu, Ajegunle To Relocate Over Floods by Konquest: 6:21pm On Aug 06, 2025
alphonsojaybaz:
Lagos Government Urges Residents in Lekki, Ikorodu, Ajegunle to Relocate Over Imminent Flooding Threat

The Lagos State Government has issued a critical warning to residents in flood-prone communities, urging them to immediately relocate to safer areas as heavy rainfall and widespread flooding continue to affect parts of the state.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, August 5, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, emphasized that the alert followed updated forecasts indicating intensified rainfall and increased risk of life-threatening flood conditions in low-lying areas. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

“Those around the Ajilete axis of Lagos — that’s Ajegunle — they have to move,” Wahab said during the live interview.
“Those along the coastline in Ikorodu, such as Majidun, also need to move. Some parts of the Lekki corridor too — not all — are affected.”

The Commissioner also flagged Isheri (OPIC area) as another critical zone requiring high alert, advising residents to be proactive in evacuating until the situation improves.

In contrast, Wahab noted that Epe, Mushin, and Ikeja remain relatively safe for now, though he urged residents across the state to continue monitoring official updates and avoid complacency.
Torrential Rains and Submerged Streets

The warning comes in the aftermath of heavy downpours that began on Sunday night, August 3, and continued through Monday, August 4, causing serious disruption in several parts of Lagos. Viral videos on social media showed vehicles stranded, homes submerged, and major roads waterlogged, particularly in the Ajah, Lekki, and Ikorodu corridors.

The floods have paralyzed business activities and commuter movement, further compounding the struggles of residents already dealing with economic hardship and poor infrastructure.

According to Wahab, the ongoing crisis was not unexpected. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) had earlier projected that Lagos would experience heavier rainfall in 2024 compared to previous years, placing the coastal city at higher risk of seasonal flash floods.

“For those in the lowlands of Lagos, they must move to upland areas until the rain subsides,” Wahab advised.

Government Response and Infrastructure Plans

As part of mitigation efforts, Wahab explained that the Lagos State Government is expanding flood channels, clearing blocked drainages, and raising public awareness to curb the impact of the flooding.

“Lagos will be exposed to the vagaries of climate change, and that means flash flooding is inevitable,” Wahab said.
“But as a government, we must provide resilient infrastructure and urge our people to act responsibly.”

He acknowledged the limitations of government efforts in the face of extreme weather but reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to reducing flood damage and protecting both lives and property.

“We won’t lie to Lagosians,” Wahab added. “If nature takes its course, our job is to reduce the impact.”

He urged residents to cooperate with officials, heed evacuation orders, and report blocked drainages or unregulated building practices, which often contribute to flooding in urban areas.

Conclusion

As Lagos battles another wave of environmental distress, the government’s call to action highlights the urgency of climate adaptation and community cooperation. With the rainy season still ongoing, many hope that preventive relocation and ongoing infrastructure work will reduce the devastation typically associated with Lagos flooding.

PoliticsRe: Generals Babangida & Abacha Influence On Nigeria's Political History by Konquest:
Racoon:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcwyxS-BEWI Babangida and Abacha in 1984

General Ibrahim Babangida and General Sani Abacha were two of the most influential military figures in Nigeria's history. Both men were commissioned into the Nigerian Army in 1963 and steadily rose through the ranks. Together, they played decisive roles in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape from the 1980s through the 1990s.

Though they were close allies in several military coups, their relationship was never founded on absolute trust. Beneath the surface of cooperation lay a careful balance of ambition, strategic calculation, and mutual suspicion.

Their collaboration gained national prominence during the December 1983 coup that toppled President Shehu Shagari and ended Nigeria’s Second Republic. Two years later, in August 1985, they worked together again to remove General Muhammadu Buhari.
Their alliance was strategic: Babangida served as the political mastermind, while Abacha operated as the military enforcer.

Once in power, Babangida appointed Abacha to several high-profile positions, including Chief of Army Staff (1985–1990), and later Chief of Defence Staff (1990–1993). Yet, despite these appointments, Babangida, known for his “Maradonic” political maneuvering was careful never to cede full control of the armed forces. He retained a firm grip on the military hierarchy, fully aware of Abacha’s growing influence and ambitions.

Abacha, for his part, remained publicly loyal but was never naive. Behind the scenes, he cultivated his own power base and built a strong network of loyal officers within the army. While he continued to serve as a key figure in Babangida’s administration, he was always politically alert and quietly preparing for what lay ahead.

When Babangida annulled the June 12, 1993 presidential election and was forced to “step aside” amidst national outcry, he handed over power to an Interim National Government led by Chief Ernest Shonekan. But the arrangement was short-lived. On November 17, 1993, Abacha seized control in a bloodless palace coup, removed Shonekan, and assumed full leadership of the Nigerian state.

Though they worked together for years, both Babangida and Abacha understood a hard truth of Nigeria’s military era: power was rarely shared freely, and loyalty was often provisional. Their story remains a revealing portrait of how personal ambition, political strategy, and military alliances shaped the trajectory of Nigeria’s modern history.

Generals Babangida & Abacha Influence On Nigeria's Political History
The "evil genius" or "Maradona" he was called because of his endless postponement of the transition to the Democratic rule. He is now wheelchair-bound.

For the other Kanuri military guy called Abacha who blatantly oversaw the executions and assassinations (through the insidious military Strike Force led by Major Hamza Al-Mustapha) of his political opponents [such as Alhaji Kudirat Abiola, Ken Saro-Wiwa, Chief Alfred Rewane, Olu Onagoruwa's son, the 1996 car bombing of the Chief Security Officer of the MMIA, etc], while he also STOLE over 4 billion U.S. dollars of Nigeria's money through the Central Bank into foreign offshore bank accounts in what is NOW infamously known worldwide as the "Abacha loot," his disgrace and ignominy is fully guaranteed in the annals of world history. Period.
