Nairaland GeneralRe: What You Need To Know About Hyperbaric Chamber Prices by Konquest: 5:35pm On Aug 20, 2025
SaifghafarR4:
Hyperbaric chambers are advanced medical devices becoming increasingly popular for their therapeutic benefits. However, understanding the cost of owning or renting one can take time and effort. Let’s break down everything you need to know about hyperbaric chamber prices.

Introduction to Hyperbaric Chambers

What Is a Hyperbaric room?
A hyperbaric chamber is a pressurized device designed to deliver pure oxygen to users at increased atmospheric pressures. This treatment, called Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), promotes healing, reduces inflammation, and enhances recovery by improving oxygen delivery to tissues.

Common Uses of Hyperbaric compartment
Hyperbaric chambers are used in medical facilities, wellness clinics, and homes for various reasons. They treat conditions such as decompression sickness, non-healing wounds, carbon monoxide poisoning, and sports injuries. Some people also use them for general wellness and anti-aging purposes.

Factors Affecting the Price of a Hyperbaric room
Types of Hyperbaric Chambers
Monoplace vs. Multiplace Chambers

The type of hyperbaric chamber for sale significantly influences its price. Monoplace chambers, designed for one person, are generally more affordable and compact. Multiplace chambers, which can accommodate multiple users simultaneously, cost significantly more due to their size and complexity.

Features and Technology
Advanced features such as digital controls, automatic pressure adjustment, and additional safety measures can drive up costs for portable chambers. However, they are less durable and often cost less than their stationary counterparts.

Brand and Manufacturer
Well-known brands charge a premium for their chambers due to superior build quality, reputation, and warranty support. However, lesser-known brands may offer similar functionality at a reduced cost.

Price Ranges for Hyperbaric Chambers
Low-Cost Chambers
Entry-level chambers typically cost between $3,000 and $10,000. These are often portable models with basic features and lower pressure ratings, ideal for personal use or small clinics on a budget.

Mid-Range Options
Mid-tier chambers range from $10,000 to $40,000. They offer improved pressure capabilities, enhanced comfort, and better materials, making them suitable for frequent use in clinics or by serious users.

High-End Hyperbaric Chambers
Premium models, such as multiple chambers or those with cutting-edge technology, can cost anywhere from $40,000 to over $100,000. These chambers are typically used in hospitals, research facilities, or high-end wellness centers.

Additional costs of chambers
Maintenance and Repairs
Like any advanced equipment, hyperbaric chambers require regular upkeep. Depending on the model and usage, maintenance costs can range from $500 to $2,000 annually.

Installation and Training
Installation costs, especially for large or multiple chambers, can add several thousand dollars to the total expense. Training for safe operation is another cost to remember, often included in the price but sometimes charged separately.

Should You Buy or Rent a Hyperbaric Chamber?
Pros and Cons of Buying
Buying a chamber offers long-term savings and convenience for frequent users. However, the upfront cost can be prohibitive, especially for high-end models.
When Renting Might Be a Better Option
Renting is ideal for short-term needs or users testing out HBOT before committing to a purchase. Rental costs typically range from $200 to $1,000 monthly, depending on the chamber type and rental terms.

Conclusion

The price of a hyperbaric chamber for sale depends on various factors, from its type and features to its brand and intended use. While entry-level models offer affordability, advanced options provide unparalleled functionality at a premium. Weighing your needs and budget carefully will help you make the right choice for your situation.

“I Can’t Eat, They Exposed My Child’s Body To The World, Compensation Must Be Paid” — Father Of Viral Ibom Air Passenger Speaks

Godwin Emmanson, father of viral Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson, has demanded compensation following the public humiliation of his daughter during a flight from Uyo to Lagos on August 10, 2025.

The incident reportedly began when Comfort allegedly refused to turn off her cellphone before takeoff, a standard aviation safety requirement.

Upon arrival in Lagos, she was forcibly removed from the aircraft by airport authorities after a confrontation with the cabin crew.

During the removal, her breast was accidentally exposed, a moment captured in viral videos that have sparked widespread outrage.

Speaking about the incident in a viral video on Sunday, Godwin said: “My name is Godwin Emmanson, I don’t know why it would have happened that way. Is it because I don’t have money? I don’t know how these people are going to pay my bills. They just rubbished us. They tarnished our image. I’m not feeling myself and I don’t feel like eating anything. They exposed my child’s body, and she didn’t steal just for a mere argument. How can you treat somebody’s child like this in front of the whole world? What has government done about this—is it because I’m broke like church rat? I’m not happy. Compensation must be paid…”

Following widespread attention, Comfort was released from police custody, and the lifetime flying ban imposed on her by the Airline Operators of Nigeria was lifted.

grandstar:
A friend informed me that a consortium of banks lent him $1.5bn in 2002 or so, which was probably what he used to dominate the diesel industry in Nigeria.

I don't know how true. It is true though that he went bankrupt when the price of crude oil crashed to $35 per barrel in 2009 from $140 the previous year. His creditors were on his neck!

The buying and selling of refined oils is a highly leveraged one.
That first paragraph of your post is TRUE... The early 2000s was when he largely dominated the diesel (AGO) industry.

His savvy business instincts helped to propel him as well. I saw about 3 random posters right from page 1 saying incorrectly that it's when his father became the Governor of Lagos State that 'Femi Otedola became rich BUT that's totally false and a sign of pure envy emanating from their deep pain of not being rich like him. A man who was the Governor for just 10 months back in the early 1990s is being irresponsibly ascribed as the reason for him being a Forbes-listed USD billionaire? That's downright ignorance laced with envy from these posters!

A good one

The truth remains that Africa is gone and gone.

In 2025, even the Yorubas don’t even know what Isese means… to them, it is evil and Jesus Mohammed is their lord and savior.
Talk of a lost race!
Chai

But it’s pathetic that with all the resources available to do simple research, or just use a little particle of atom of brain left in their head, they can’t… how will a people worship something that was used to enslave and colonize you… worst of all, the colonizers no longer follow this path.
If you have white friends, or white colleagues… you will realize they don’t even carry Jesus. They rarely or don’t even go to church. They don’t even have Bible

But a full grown adult in Nigeria will be singing and be saying the god of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac they will serve. What of the God of your ancestors?
God of people that don’t bear your names

Lastly, why Africans no to get sense like that… especially this generation of pastor jerrry followers and co… the word “Ancestor” automatically means evil to them.. like just tell them, your ancestors be blessed, they will say God forbid, wetin be ancestors!!! Like for real man!! These people are krazzzzy… and they want to have children and great grandchildren… and descendants, not knowing that they are the ancestors of their own future descendants…

And lastly for the last time

See the Queen Elizabeth whey bring Christianity come meet you, watch a video of Queen Elizabeth undergoing her ancestral initiation… same people whey carry missionaries give you oo, they are practicing their own. Even when she died, they did their traditional rites for the queen….

PoliticsRe: Isese Day: Lagos, Oyo, Ogun Declare Wednesday Public Holiday by Konquest: 2:01am On Aug 20, 2025
Mynd44:
Following this year’s Isese Day celebrations on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the Lagos, Oyo, and Ogun state governments have declared the day as work-free for public servants.

The Lagos State government made the announcement through a circular issued by the state’s Head of Service, Bode Agoro, and addressed to top government officials, including the Deputy Governor, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Chief Judge, commissioners, chairmen of local councils, Local Council Development Areas, permanent secretaries, and heads of state agencies, among others.

According to the circular, the declaration was part of Sanwo-Olu’s reaffirmed commitment to promoting indigenous culture, tradition, and heritage while strengthening support for traditional institutions across the state.

Also, declaring the day a public holiday, the Oyo State government, through the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, in a circular dated August 18, 2025, indicated that the governor approved the work-free day to mark the Isese Day Celebration.

It would be recalled that August 20 was formally declared a public holiday in 2023, following a motion passed by the Ogun State House of Assembly and the concurrent approval of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The day is set aside to celebrate Yoruba religion and traditions. In a statement, the state government said the introduction of Isese Day as a public holiday reflects Abiodun’s recognition of the vital role that Yoruba heritage and practices play in the state’s identity and cultural landscape.

I was doing NYSC in Kano when this riot took place. The city of Kano is not where a Christian should be in violent riot.
Thousands of Christian and non indigeme lives were wasted for nothing sake.in that riot in Kano.

Those street urchins called Almajiris are dangerous armies of death without mercy.
The same little Almajiri children you give money and food everyday will easily turn on you to take your life so quickly. They have been so indoctrinated with deep seated hatred for people not of their religion and moments like riots are times they become killing machines to loot and kill.

I lived in kano for 4 yrs, and witnessed 3 deadly riots in which I lost friends, co - workers and neighbours.

The riots were:
1. Beauty Pageant (Miss world contest) in which Muslims said Nigeria should not host the contest. And when Nigeria went ahead to host it, some Northern cities including Kano went on riot killing non Muslims.

2. The US war against Libya. Muslims in Nigeria especially those in Kano decided to take the anger on Christians living in the North.. Thousands were slaughtered in Kano.

3. A Frenchman drew a cartoon of Muhammed. Muslims in Nigeria got angry and started killing Christians living in the North.
I narrowly escaped with my life in Kano in those 3 riots. In one of them, I was smuggled out in the boot of a car by a Muslim colleague.

Na run I ran away from that city.
I still have sad scars and very baf memories of that city.

Your culture is inside your language and beliefs.

Dancing, dressing, etc aren't culture itself but merely an expression of culture
.

Any Nigerian can identify what part of the country a person person wearing certain dress in the picture comes from but it doesn't make the wearer of the dress a part of the culture known for that dressing. In the same way you may wear a Japanese kimono but not be a Japanese. So, anybody can wear the dress too! Anybody can wear any dress.

However, it's not anybody that can speak your native language and believe the same way as your culture does. That's unique to your culture alone- you're really like one unit of your culture if you haven't been adulterated. And only few Africans like Sunday Igboho are not adulterated yet.

That's why wherever and whenever imperialist powers conquered new lands, the three things they were all interested in destroying are 1. Language 2. Education 3. Religion

There was never a place where Rome or Greece or Britain or France or Spain, etc conquered but stopped the natives from dancing or dressing certain ways. Instead, you have all of them waring against native language, education, religion. Because those are the things that created whatever culture that exists anywhere in the world.

Britain banned the speech of native Kenya languages in about the 1940's. In South Africa, they enacted the Bantu educational act to make speaking native South African languages a crime punishable by a fine. That's you'll pay to speak your native language!!

The ultimate colonial smooth criminal himself, Ulli Beier, was sent by the CIA right here in Nigeria and he smoothly did the same thing without raising eyes brows. By the time he fled after the CIA operation and his undercover mission was blown open in other countries (even though Nigerians thought he was legitimate till today) he successfully changed writing from native Nigerian languages to English, set up the people you know as your favorite "literary giants" in Nigeria, set the precedent for Yoruba ontology known to the world - if you ever want to understand what Yorubas believe you'll read it from Ulli Beier. Talk about destroying something from within! More details about this in my upcoming book.

What smart people should do is to restore your culture which white people have destroyed. Dancing, dressing is not your culture, rather they're expression of it.

I'll wash off my hands about black people after my upcoming book.

InvestmentRe: Renting Vs. Getting A Mortgage In 2025 : Which Makes More Financial Sense by Konquest: 12:57am On Aug 20, 2025
Thinkmintsocial:
With the cost of rent rising across Nigeria’s major cities and access to mortgage financing expanding slowly but surely, many Nigerians in 2025 are asking a critical question: “Should I keep renting or buy a house through a mortgage?”

This is more than just a lifestyle decision: it’s a financial one that can impact your net worth, peace of mind, and long-term security.

In this post, we will break down the real numbers, lifestyle pros and cons, and what makes the most financial sense in today’s economy.
If you’re stuck between the freedom of renting and the stability of homeownership, read on—this guide will help you choose wisely.

The State of the Nigerian Housing Market in 2025

The Nigerian housing market is experiencing both pressure and potential in 2025.
Average rent in Lagos ranges from ₦1.8M to ₦5M yearly, depending on the area. Abuja, Port Harcourt, and other urban centres are seeing similar spikes.

Nigeria still has a housing deficit of over 17 million units, pushing demand higher.

Mortgage interest rates hover between 9.5 % and 19%, depending on the lender and loan tenure.

Government-backed options like the National Housing Fund (NHF) are gaining traction among first-time buyers.

Real estate hotspots like Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Gwarinpa, and Lokogoma are witnessing high investor interest and land appreciation.

While renting remains more flexible, homeownership is slowly becoming more accessible, especially for middle-income earners with stable jobs.

Renting in Nigeria: Advantages, Disadvantages, and Real Numbers

Pros of Renting
Lower upfront cost: No need for a 20–30% down payment.

Mobility: You can move closer to work, switch cities, or change neighbourhoods as needed.

Fewer responsibilities: No property tax, maintenance, or repairs.

Cons of Renting

Zero equity: Your monthly rent builds wealth for your landlord, not you.

Annual rent hikes: Landlords adjust prices in response to inflation or increased demand.

No permanence: You're always one notice away from needing to move.

Rent Example: Lekki in 2025

A 2-bedroom flat in Lekki Phase II goes for ₦3.2M/year on average. That’s ₦16M in 5 years with nothing to show in ownership.

IV. Mortgages in Nigeria: How They Work in 2025

Common Mortgage Types
NHF (National Housing Fund) – Low-interest loans for eligible Nigerians through the Federal Mortgage Bank.

Commercial Bank Mortgages – Higher interest but faster processing and flexible terms.

Cooperative/Employer-backed Mortgages – Often used in public service and private firms.

Mortgage Costs: Real Breakdown

Let’s say you want to buy a ₦30M home in Abuja
Down Payment: 20% = ₦6M

Loan: ₦24M over 15 years at 14% interest

Monthly Repayment: ₦330,000 – ₦360,000

Total Repayment Over 15 Years: ₦59M – ₦65M

But you own an appreciating asset worth possibly ₦70M+ by then.

Benefits of Mortgages

You gain ownership over time (forced savings).

You can build equity while still living in the home.

Property may appreciate, yielding long-term profits.

Challenges

High-interest rates and fees

Risk of default if income is unstable

Upfront costs: valuation, legal fees, insurance, etc

IV. Mortgages in Nigeria: How They Work in 2025
InvestmentRe: These Nigerian Cities Are The Emerging Real Estate Hotzones! by Konquest: 12:55am On Aug 20, 2025
Thinkmintsocial:
In the Nigerian real estate world, two cities—Lagos and Abuja —have long dominated the spotlight. Their rapid development, infrastructure, and high return potential made them an ideal choice for most investors. But as these markets become increasingly saturated and expensive, a quiet revolution is coming on.

Secondary cities across Nigeria are on the rise, offering smart investors more affordable entry points, faster growth potential, and untapped opportunities. If you’re looking to diversify your portfolio or enter the market at the ground floor, these emerging cities may be exactly where your attention should shift next.

Why These Secondary Cities Are Gaining Investor Attention

The appeal of secondary cities goes beyond affordability. A mix of economic and social shifts is pushing both Nigerians and investors to consider cities beyond the traditional hubs.

Here’s why:

Skyrocketing costs in Lagos & Abuja: The cost of land, construction, and living has priced out many middle-class investors and developers.
Decentralization & government push: Federal and state governments are actively investing in infrastructure outside Lagos and Abuja to promote regional development.
Improved infrastructure: Roads, power, and broadband connectivity are steadily improving in once-ignored cities, making them viable options for work and living.
Urban migration trends: Nigerians are increasingly relocating to cities with lower living costs, less congestion, and new economic opportunities.

5 Emerging Investment Hotspots Beyond Lagos & Abuja

Real estate in Ibadan
Property for sale in Ibadan

1. Ibadan – Affordable Growth in the Southwest

As Nigeria’s largest city by landmass, Ibadan is undergoing a quiet boom. It sits just 90 minutes from Lagos via the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the modern rail system, making it a top relocation choice for those priced out of Lagos.

Why invest:

Residential estates are springing up in areas like Akobo, Oluyole, and Moniya
Tech hubs and SMEs are gaining traction
Property prices are still 50–70% lower than those of Lagos

2. Uyo – Clean, Peaceful, and Investment-Ready

Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, is arguably one of Nigeria’s best-planned cities. Known for its cleanliness, hospitality, and fast-improving infrastructure, it’s fast becoming a tourism and residential hotspot.

Why invest:

State government support for tourism and hospitality
Ongoing investments in road networks and stadiums
Rising demand for residential housing and shortlets

3. Enugu – Eastern Nigeria’s Tech & Talent Hub

Enugu is reclaiming its role as a business and tech hub in Southeastern Nigeria. With its top universities, vibrant youth population, and growing middle class, the city is attracting real estate developers and tech entrepreneurs alike.

Why invest:

Surging rental demand from students and young professionals
Tech incubators and creative spaces on the rise
Strategic road connections to Anambra and Abia States

4. Port Harcourt – Oil Economy Meets Urban Living

Despite its oil-heavy economy, Port Harcourt is diversifying. Residential and commercial property developments are booming in areas like GRA Phase 3, Peter Odili Road, and Ada George. With the return of peace and security improvements, the city is back on investors’ radar.

Why invest:

High rental yields in residential real estate
Oil & gas firms driving consistent demand for housing
Strong purchasing power of residents and businesses

5. Asaba – Creativity, Tourism, and Rising Demand

Asaba, the Delta State capital, is emerging as a creative and lifestyle hub. With its proximity to Onitsha and growing Nollywood presence, it’s attracting tourists, filmmakers, and digital entrepreneurs.

Why invest:

Growth in boutique hotels, guest houses, and shortlet apartments
The presence of film studios and festivals boosts hospitality
Rising land prices in areas like Okpanam and Summit Road

What Type of Investments Are Thriving in These Cities?

Each city has unique strengths, but the following sectors show the most promise across the board:
Mid-income residential housing: Demand is growing as more people migrate from expensive metro areas.

Shortlets and hospitality: Tourists, remote workers, and professionals seek flexible accommodations.

Commercial real estate: Shopping complexes, co-working spaces, and offices are on the rise.

Agro-processing and tech hubs: Secondary cities offer cheaper land for setting up industrial or digital clusters.

How to Identify a Profitable Secondary City

Before jumping in, you need to ensure your investment is smart and sustainable. Here’s how to identify where to put your money:
Look for infrastructure projects: Road construction, airport upgrades, or government-backed tech hubs are signs of a city on the rise.

Follow migration trends: Where people move, demand for housing and services follow.

Check rental data: Rising rent prices without excessive vacancies indicate healthy growth.

Work with local experts: Partner with trusted agents and developers to understand the nuances of each city.

Expert Tips for Successful Investment

\
Buy early in developing neighborhoods: Prices are lowest before the crowd arrives.

Diversify your asset mix: Combine land banking with rental income opportunities.

Think long-term: Real growth in secondary cities often comes over 3–5 years.

Leverage incentives: Some state governments offer tax breaks or land subsidies for investors.

Conclusion: The Smart Investor Moves First

Lagos and Abuja will always have their place. But the future of Nigeria’s real estate and business growth is decentralized. Secondary cities like Ibadan, Uyo, Enugu, Port Harcourt, and Asaba offer high ROI potential at a fraction of the cost.
If you want to stay ahead of the curve—and avoid the crowd—now is the time to start exploring these emerging hotspots.

Until the upgrades are done to permit the use of 5G phones on flights within the Nigerian aviation industry, the use of mobile phones would pose a threat to flights due to instrument frequencies being of the same range with mobile phone frequencies. Bro, there are loads of individuals like him doing great things in Africa today.

I.e Nigerians and Africans born in the diaspora plus Nigerians and Africans Japa crew who have done well and are returning looking to gain no-ceiling success in their nation and continent of origin.

Of course we also have those, most impressively inspirational , with long disconnected history with Africa (African Americans for example) and even those, like the Chinese and Lebanese, moving permanently to Africa, and identifying as Nigerians and Ghanaians etal, in search of opportunities and lifestyles, as they wish to enjoy, not available elsewhere.

All those above, returning to engage in business and industrialisation, are going to play a part reshaping Africa for the better, by making her a continent Africans can stay and be happy in.

This is an especially important concept because the West, that Africans love to Japa to, will become more protectionist and anti-immigration in an age of global economic challenges which will not abate significantly anytime soon in my opinion.

Meaning western nations must focus on catering for indigenes and citizens better by controlling immigration consciously. What Trump is doing will be the new norm going forward indicating Africa and Africans has been put on notice to fix their homes and stop their emigration obsession.

What these visionary and ambitious people see is the economically proven reality that Africa, according to the brightest global economists, is "the last frontier".

I.e the continent of the world with the most untapped vast resources and opportunities while other Continents, like Europe for example, are over-developed, overwhelmed and literally incapable of brand new and exponentially great wealth.

I salute all these people coming back, for whatever reason, as they can ensure Africans, or those who want to make and keep wealth in the continent, have a say in the future of a continent the world will have covetous eyes on as the 'crown jewel' Oasis
in the middle of a global economic desert.

All these people, unlike the clown I responded to who thinks "abroad" is automatically better, will help to ensure minerals and resources rich Africa, West and Sub-Saharan Fridays precisely, does not slide into a second age of enslavement.

Imaging if we all japa myopically leaving incoming foreigners, who do not care about Africa but are visionary enough to see opportunities we spurn, moving in to make our continent and her assets the new feeder hub of thei economic resurgence and greatness of their nations outside Africa?

Slavery and colonisation achieved that for them in the past when France, UK Belgium etal cut up and shared Africa for their own gains. To avoid a repeat, business and entrepreneurial returnees to Africa, with genuine and residential connection with our continent, will be important.

Tinubu commissions LPG vessel named ‘MT Iyaloja Lagos’ in South Korea

Dignitaries at the naming ceremony of the 40,000 cubic metres (CBM) WAGL Energy Limited’s Liquiefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) vessel in Ulsan, South Korea, on Monday.

President Bola Tinubu has commissioned a 40,000 cubic meters (CBM) Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) vessel, christened “MT Iyaloja (Lagos),” in Ulsan, South Korea, to deepen LPG availability and affordability.

The President, at the commissioning of the 40,000 CBM LPG vessel, on Monday, said Nigeria was poised to deliver clean and sustainable energy solutions not just in-country but also across Africa and beyond.

The vessel, owned by WAGL Energy Limited (a NNPC Ltd./Sahara Group Joint Venture), is a dual-fuel, fully refrigerated LPG carrier.

This latest addition brings WAGL’s total LPG vessel capacity to 162,000 CBM. Other vessels in the fleet include MT Africa Gas, MT Sahara Gas, MT BaruMK, and MT Sapet.

Represented by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, the President commended WAGL Energy Limited, NNPC Limited and Sahara Group for their strategic foresight.

Tinubu, in a statement by the NNPC Ltd. management, also lauded the partners for their technical excellence and unwavering dedication to expanding Africa’s role in the global clean energy value chain.

In his remarks, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of NNPC Ltd., Mr. Bashir Ojulari, described WAGL’s LPG Vessel as a significant addition to Nigeria’s gas development efforts.

The GCEO, represented by the Executive Vice President, Gas, Power, and New Energy, Mr. Olalekan Ogunleye, added that the vessel will be crucial in realizing the impact of gas in Nigeria’s economic development.

Ojulari said the NNPC Ltd. was deepening its commitment to ensure LPG affordability, availability and access, nationwide.

“NNPC Ltd. is proud to be a major shareholder in this indigenous company which in addition to the newly commissioned vessel, owns four other LPG vessels in its growing fleet, delivering over six million MT of LPG across West Africa over the last five years,” he added.

Also speaking, WAGL’s Chairman/Executive Director at Sahara Group, Mr Temitope Shonubi, said that the company’s expansion demonstrated its vision of responsibly driving efforts aimed at bridging the continent’s critical energy infrastructure gap.

“The addition of MT Iyaloja (Lagos) embodies the spirit of progress and empowerment championed by the iconic Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, whose legacy we honour.

“Sahara Group is proud of its partnership with NNPC Ltd. and reaffirms its commitment to partnerships that drive energy access in Africa,” he added.

WAGL’s Managing Director, Mr. Mohammed Bello, said that the company is dedicated to expanding its integrated supply network across the entire energy value chain.

WAGL already has plans to further expand the fleet within the next two years with the addition of a Small Gas Carrier and a Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC),” he added.

The symbolic ribbon cutting of MT Iyaloja (Lagos), named in honour of Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji (the late mother of President Bola Tinubu), was performed by her granddaughter, the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Alhaja Folasade Tinubu-Ojo.

@DonXavi,

It's impressive that you posted this as it offers more clarity on what's triggering the current Alaafin of Oyo.

That 1991 Newswatch Magazine article was very revealing. It has to do with the FACT that the Alaafins see the Ooni's as NOT being the direct descendants of Oduduwa who Oba Adeyemi said in that article did NOT leave any sons in Ile-Ife. Perhaps, if the Ooni a priest-king were to be a direct descendant of Oduduwa, I'm sure this rivalry would NOT be there.

I would advice them all to sheathe their egos and swords because power is transient. The Ooni is the current Oba in Ile-Ife so, they should accept it that way since Oduduwa did NOT leave any of his biological sons to rule over Ile-Ife (the spiritual and cultural capital of the Yoruba folks worldwide) as indicated in the ATTACHED Newswatch Magazine article.

Awolowo is one of the few visionary leaders that Yorubas have. Most of the current crop are just a bunch of donkeys who just want to chop money and flex and would shut down any progressive idea or project that will prevent them from being able to steal money.
@Otipoju

Indeed, Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN and his dynamic team of Action Group and later UPN folks were way ahead of their times in terms of critical thinking which led to many FIRSTS in the Old Western Region of Nigeria from the highrise Cocoa House, free education, first television station, several industrial estates being built in Oluyole Estate in Ibadan, Ikeja Industrial Estate, Ilupeju Industrial Estate Iganmu Industrial Estate, etc, to produce finished goods for export via Apapa port. The May 27, 1967 creation of the new Lagos State by General Yakubu Gowon led to that "painful" excision of the industrial hubs of Ikeja, Ilupeju, Iganmu, and many more towns (Ibeju-Lekki, Epe, Ikorodu, Badagry, OJo, Agege, Mushin, Isolo, etc, from the Old Western Region to form Lagos State.

Babatunde Raji-Fasola showed strong signs of being a dynamic man because I remember he visited Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore before he died (the same year he became a Governor of Lagos State) to bounce ideas off him. Reading the over 800-page copy of "From Third World to First: The Singapore Story" by Lee Kuan Yew the father of modern Singapore which I bought and read back in the early 2000s was very illuminating for me because it broke down how easy it is to build a multiethnic city-state such as Singapore that was far behind Nigeria in the 1950s and 1960s. The now President 'Bola Tinubu too had long-range foresight when he was the Lagos State Governor by exponentially increasing the Lagos IGR, while conceptualizing what is now the Lekki Deep Sea Port, the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Ibeju-Lekki, the Eko Atlantic City project to save Victoria Island from being submerged by the Atlantic Ocean floods. Tinubu was also instrumental to bringing in the Dangote Petrochemical Refinery to Ibeju-Lekki with the provision of land, and the foundation of the Lagos Master Plan was laid which other Governors of Lagos have been implementing till date BUT more work and fine-tuning has to be made. Just last month, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his Commissioner for Agriculture Ms. Abisola Olusanya launched the "Produce for Lagos" program with 150 CNG 40 ft trucks in one go that would be used for food haulage in the robust plan to use the construction of the "Epe Central Agro Food Hub" to crash the cost of foods by 50% of the current prices and prevent post-harvest wastages which is highly impressive! Those are the kinds of "progressive ideas" for leapfrogging into the next step of economic advancement and reduced cost of living for those folks on the street level.

So, I believe that many folks of Yoruba descent have dynamic plans BUT like you said, NOT everyone has that progressive leaning. BUT in reality, with the application of these progressive ideas, they can actually make far more sustainable money for themselves instead of engaging in stealing or the use of "pen robbery" to sign off inflated deals.

I appreciate your feedback.

Cheers.

By: Nazaru llc. U.S.A

The Trade with Africa Business Summit convenes trade experts, policy makers, global business leaders driving trade with Africa

While the world is laser focused on the U.S. – China trade war something equally significant that will reshape the global landscape for the next 30 to 50 years is emerging in Africa. With the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) entering into force, there is a repositioning of the continent that disrupts the old way of engaging with its individual nations.

Power is being centralized in the African Union (AU) and those looking to enter commercially in the future would have to realign – should they seek to move with speed on their trade & investment agenda. Ignoring the African Union policies and structures in your long-range ‘African strategy‘ will be a missed opportunity. The African Union (AU) under AfCFTA has become a stronger negotiating trade bloc positioned to better serve Africa’s smaller countries. There is no doubt that the AU will play a much bigger role in the global landscape in years to come especially when it chooses to exert its influence on global matters.

External pressures on the continent is at an all-time low thanks to Covid-19, British Exit and Trump’s Presidency. Countries have turned inwards to face their own internal issues which has led to reduced foreign interference in African affairs. Africa’s leaders have used the opportunity to consolidate power and for the first time the continent has a window of opportunity to chart its own course by putting Africa’s own agenda center stage.

There are opportunities emerging on the continent but those who seek to engage must listen to the aspirations of Africans. Instead of creating artificial demands to sell products to Africa, tap into their quest. Listen to what African are trying to accomplish then offer your products and services as the ultimate solution. This would serve as win-win and is a more sustainable way of doing business. Afterall, if you seek to serve Africans as consumers of your products, understanding their pain-points should be your central focus.

Here are 5 ways that Africa will increasingly reshape and impact the global economic landscape:

Supply Chain disruption

The global buying community has been disrupted by the ongoing U.S. – China “trade war” and they are now seeking alternative sources of supply to realigning to for future purchases and deals. Africa has always been the originating source for raw commodities used by the rest of the world. From Cocoa in Cote D’Ivoire to Cashew from Nigeria to Gold in Ghana to Diamonds in the Congo the rest of the world has been powered by Africa’s resources. Africa is now seeking new and innovative ways to power itself with its own resources. In the future entire value chains and industries will emerge on the continent creating wealth for its people and those who choose to invest.

Agriculture

The missing link has always been Value Addition. With Africa owning 60% of the remaining arable land in the world, Agriculture initiatives would help create a brighter future for the region. Today Sustainable Agriculture conversations have heightened and investments in the Agriculture value chain is growing to ensure that Africa not only plays in the Cocoa business but in the Chocolate industry.

Technology Adoption

Africa does not have the same limitations in new technology adoption that the western world struggles with. The region will leapfrog into 5G ahead of the rest of the world. While other regions are seeking business cases for technology adoption, African countries are quickly taking these concepts mainstream. From drone technology adoption in Rwanda to Kenya leading the world in digital payments, these technological innovations would be adopted much faster in Africa which will create unique advantages for the rising young population.

Youth Workforce

Africa’s population is projected to double from 1.2 billion to 2.2 billion by 2050. While the rest of the world is struggling with an aging population, Africa’s youth population sits at 60-70% and will continue to grow. For example Nigeria is projected to become the world’s 3rd most populated country next to China and India by 2050. Its current population is estimated at 200 million. These figures will present opportunities and challenges; security and immigration challenges if not managed properly. Regions with current food insecurities would become more strained so it is in everyone’s interests to put plans in place and initiatives to drive productivity on the continent. If the region gets it right, the energy of the youth could be harnessed to power innovation and manufacturing.

Manufacturing Epicenter

Africa will become the manufacturing capital of the future. With labor cost going up in China and the saturation they are facing, Manufacturing has steadily began shifting to the region. Africa is centrally located geographically and well positioned to serve the world faster and cheaper. Also with the AfCFTA, manufacturing products on the continent for a growing and emerging middle class is a no brainer. For example, demands for baby products would rise as the projected population rises.

Hello everyone, I made a post on my review on the airtel 5G unlimited router. Let's just say the speed nearly drove me mad, There were times I couldn't use the router unless at night time because it was just too slow.

It's truly unlimited but the speed is a joke.
So last month I purchased starlink and it cost me about 440k on jumia with 38k monthly subscription fee and I must say, The speed is incredible!

I experience an average of 200-300mbps and even hit up to 458mbps as compared to airtels 20mbps.

I can download a 75gb file in 1 hour but I used 3 days to download a 100gb file with airtel router.

The only major disadvantage is, If you don't have constant power then you have to use your gen constantly to power it and it's not portable at all. You'd have to completely unwire it to take it to another location and the data plans are very specific to your current location.

So if I go from Lagos to Abuja, I can't use it in Abuja as I'd have to resub again for Abuja location.

If you can afford it, I highly recommend it! My videos almost never buffer even at the highest possible quality.
Interesting takes.
