Who is comparing oranges with apples. Please when making comparison lets be reasonable. Apple for apple, orange for orange, like for like. Cerato vs Yaris, ok. Camry vs Optima/Opirus, good. But not cerato against camry. old or new, it is an impossicant!
Lots of prudence here. Nice one!

I'm not taking anything away from her.
I believe she's one of the top actresses in Nigeria at the moment.

But when you have people like geneveive, Omotola, Rita Dominic and others one would wonder how she got the award.

But then again, this is Nollywood.

This is a good news trailing delectable Nollywood diva, Stella Damasus-Nzeribe who recently married her hubby, Mr. Emeka Nzeribe.

Gathered that this mother of two is now pregnant for her new hubby.

Our Abuja source who ran into her at one of the big supermarkets in the capital city said she was sighted in a gown with protruding stomach buying baby needs. Our inquisitive source who was also in the supermarket, we learnt moved closer to her and said “aah! Thank God o, so we should be expecting a baby in nine months time”. Stella we learnt replied and said “who is expecting a baby?” The source again told her “I saw you purchasing baby’s materials I am and she replied again “what gives you the impression that the materials I am buying are for me”, Stella stated.

Stella, the former wife of the late Jayejeje Aboderin, we learnt is planning an elaborate wedding soon. She had her secret traditional wedding few months back. The traditional wedding with her hubby, Mr. Emeka Nzeribe from Oguta, in her hometown, Asaba, Delta State.

We called Stella severally on her MTN number to confirm her nine months course before we went to press last week but her number could not be reached.

CrimePolice Find Body Of Boy, 2, In Father’s Bag by koolchicco(op): 10:16am On Nov 21, 2009
The police in Benin City, Edo State on Tuesday found a dead two year old boy in a “Ghana must go” bag in possession of the dead child’s father, police said in Benin yesterday. Two-year-old Master Comfort Effiong was allegedly poisoned over allegations of witchcraft, by his own father who was intercepted by the police at a check point in the city.

The body of the child was discovered in possession of his father, Mr. John Effiong, 32, and two others along the Benin – Abraka axis of the city. It was gathered that the child was last Tuesday fed with a plate of poisoned rice. The father, it was alleged, collaborated with his wife to take their son’s life in reaction to a prophecy that the child was a wizard who was attempting to harm his pregnant mother.

Though one John Okoh and Pastor Aniekan Achiobong have been arrested for complicity, the alleged prophet, Ini Monday of the Caretaker Light of God Church, 8, Uyi Street, off Goody Good day Street, Upper Sakponba Road, Benin City has been declared wanted by the police. The spokesman, Edo Police Command, ASP Peter Ogboi, who confirmed the incident advised members of the public to be mindful of prophecies. According to him, the police have spread their search to arrest the fleeing prophet while the victim’s father and two others now in police net would be charged for murder.

CelebritiesNollywood Actresses Accredited In New American Novel by koolchicco(op): 10:02am On Nov 21, 2009
Some Nollywood stars namely: Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jolade, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha, Rita Dominic, Stephanie Okereke, Funke Akindele, and one or two others were mentioned favorably in a new American novel written by Nona David.

Title of the book is: "Feddie Girl: The Hilarious Adventures of an American Teen in a Nigerian Federal School"
Author is: Nona David,Publisher is: Bernard Books Publishing (Cincinnati, Ohio, USA)

While some people are happy that these actresses are gaining international fame, others feel that Nollywood movies are still sub-standard and therefore will be an embarrassment to foreigners who might be influenced to watch the movies because of the good credits given in the novel.

However, since the book is authored by an American, I'll say let honor be given to whom honor is due. If Americans like our Nollywood movies and actresses, who are we to tell them otherwise? Why should we be so negative about the progress of our own nation?
Many of these Nollywood stars have really worked hard for their careers and some of them truly deserve International recognition.

Please let's stop being sour about our own nation's progress and learn to appreciate what we have.
CelebritiesMona Lisa Wins Award For Best Actress At Afro Hollywood Awards by koolchicco(op): 9:56am On Nov 21, 2009
Taking time out of her busy schedule in the bustling city of Lagos, Glo Ambassador and sexy screen siren, Mona Lisa Chinda jetted out to
the Queen's own country (England)last week to attend the 2009 edition of the Afro Hollywood Award. The actress was nominated along with several other actresses for the Award for Best Actress in an English movie, and she won amidst some stiff competition. Also present at the occasion was veteran actor, Justus Esiri, Mercy Johnson etc.

The Afro Hollywood Award is a yearly event organised by Mike Abiola and it seeks to reward deserving actors and actresses for their contribution to the development of film in Nigeria. Speaking with the star on the significance of the Award who has since returned to the country she said, 'I couldn't be more happier (to win this Award). This has been a particularly tough year for me but God has been faithful.

He has seen me through and I am most grateful'. So whats new for the bubbling actress? "Well, I have acted in a couple of movies recently,  one of which will be premiering at SilverBird Cinema at the end of the month. Its called 'Nollywood Hustler' and is a comedy. I really enjoyed showing that side of me. So what else is new? 'Well, I have a column in one of Nigerian newspapers on Saturday where I write about various issues. You should check it out sometime'.

Hmm,  maybe I will. Mona Lisa,  writing a column? That'll be interesting.
