ComputersRe: How Do Nigerians Afford The N16,000 Per Month Internet Bill. This Is Like $160 by Koolking(m): 10:37am On May 18, 2011
N16,000 for Internet service that is not optimally ok is a ripped-off. That's what Starcomms charges every month for its 24/7 Internet service.
PoliticsRe: What Did Goodluck Actually Do In Bayelsa State? by Koolking(m): 10:27am On May 18, 2011
PEOPLE DID NOT VOTE FOR GEJ. THEY SKEWED [RIGGED] THE VOTES IN FAVOUR OF HIM. TRIBAL SENTIMENTS SEE HIM THROUGH NOT POLITICAL ACHIEVEMENT.

I WEEP FOR THIS COUNTRY
PoliticsRe: Fashola Strikes Again by Koolking(m): 5:41pm On May 16, 2011
Big B1:
Fashola is a great governor only because we do not have true leadership in Nigeria; hence, one eye is better than none (typical Nigerians' attitude).

I say, absolutely the best or nothing.

In my book, Gov Fashola is just an ok governor, absolutely not a great governor. This is simply because he doesn't follow certain necessary basic steps during the implementation of any of his projects (ie, he mostly lacks common sense).
A true leader must not allow his emotion to over shadow his or her strategies.

Is there any proper plan in place for these beggars?
How or Where exactly does he (Fashola) want these folks to make a living?
Has Fashola been to any of these homes before?
Has he provided jobs for these folks?
What exactly is the future of this plan?
Has he (Fashola) taken a time out to clearly think about the real outcome of this move?

As far as I'm concerned, more than 50% percent of Lagosians are indirectly beggars.

Fashola needs to start planning properly, and clearly understand the outcome of all his moves  before striking.

Fashola will be nothing, but another wuruwuru leader (full of half baked solutions and weak process) in an organized country.
Let us stop settling for less or half job well done in this country and demand for the best that we deserve from our leaders.

Just because leadership is weak in Nigeria doesn't necessarily mean we should remain blind and continue to worship half baked leaders like Fashola
Nigeria will be a better place as soon as we start asking for more and stop embracing rubbish.

Fashola should have been more prepared before striking this move.
That is the tragedy of the Nigerian polity. And that is perhaps the second biggest reason (after corruption) why we remain backwards in every aspect of development. Misplacement of priorities is such a huge disease in this country. A man's house would be on fire and yet he'd prefer to chase rats all over the place. I can't find the right words to describe just how ridiculous this is.

@Big B1:

@ Pro01
Well said. These guys in Government are confused and they will never admit that. Some Nigerians and obviously some Nairalanders are not helping to checkmate the excesses of our government. They are just praise-singers of the government, even when issues are worth condemning they praise. Some of the comments here are totally embarrasing, pathetic, nauseating and terrifying. We cannot move this country forward with this kind of parochial attitudes. It's unthinkable how we always put the cart before the horse,

It is laughable how a govt would sit down and draft a law telling it citizens how to spend his/her hard earned money. Let me advise Fash, he should move from house to house and church to church arresting beggars and that is the only way he can really show he is working, NONSENSE

Stories of BB's death abound. I knew of a girl who pinged her way into a fast moving car and she was ran over big time. she over concentrated on her BB and never remembered she was walking on the road. Such incidences are not isolated.

PoliticsRe: Fashola Strikes Again by Koolking(m): 10:35am On May 16, 2011
SO MUCH RASCALITY AND INSANITY IN GOVERNMENT. HERE'S ANOTHER ONE IN PLAY. WHEN DID ALMS GIVING BECOME A CRIME. SOME OF THESE BEGGARS DON'T CHOOSE TO BEG BUT THEY ARE JUST VICTIMS OF CIRCUMSTANCES. CIRCUMSTANCES THROWN TO THEM BY BAD GOVERNMENT.

FASHOLA'S GOVERNMENT IS ANOTHER TYPICAL OF HITLER'S REGIME THAT SEEK TO ANNIHILATE THE INFERIOR RACE FOR THE WORLD BE BE COMPLETELY OCCUPIED BY A FEW PRIVILEGED RASCALS.

IT'S MIND-BOGGLING THE WAY GOVERNMENT DO THINGS. PEOPLE IN GOVERNMENT IN NIGERIA DON'T MEAN WELL. THERE ARE A MILLION AND ONE DIRE ISSUES FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF LAGOS STATE TO CONCENTRATE ON BUT RATHER CHOSE TO DO TRIVIAL ISSUES.

THE FACT IS: THIS LAW IS ABSURD BECAUSE LAGOSIANS ARE NOT MONSTERS. YOU FIND OUT THAT WHAT YOU SEE ON THE STREETS OF LAGOS EVERYDAY, WHAT OTHER HUMANS LIKE YOU FACE TO STAY ALIVE MOVE PEOPLE TO GIVE IN ORDER TO SEE THEM THROUGH THE DAY. GIVING ALMS DOES NOT MEAN ONE IS ENCOURAGING LAZINESS BUT SHEER SELF-CONVICTION THAT, OH! YOU ARE PRIVILEGE AND THAT PERSON IS NOT, I WISH I COULD HELP HIM/HER.

I DON'T SEE BEGGARS HAS THREAT TO THE PURPORTED MEGA-CITY DREAM, BUT POVERTY. HIGH COST OF LIVING. UNBRIDLED SURGE OF COST OF FOOD [IN DEVELOPED CITIES, FOOD IS THE CHEAPEST THING ONE CAN GET]. CRIME/SOCIAL VICES BROUGHT BY UNEMPLOYMENT AND THOSE WHO STRIVE TO BE SELF-EMPLOYED ARE FRUSTRATED AND CHEATED OUT OF THEIR LITTLE RAYS OF SUN LIGHT THROUGH WANTON TAXES. YOU PAY TAX AND AT THE SAME TIME PAY HEAVILY FOR THE SERVICES YOUR TAX COVERS - LIKE BRT FARES.

GOD WILL HELP US ALL!!!!!!!!!
RomanceRe: Men/boys, Would You Allow Another Man/boy Take Your Woman/girl To An Event? by Koolking(m): 1:01pm On May 11, 2011
I don't need to jeopardise my wife's honorable/noble public [event] participation just because I cannot attend with her. I will enthusiastically allow her to attend with whoever she wants to. As I husband, I should be able to have some level of trust for my wife and vice-versa. Am not in a hurry to marry someone I cannot trust. If there is no trustworthy woman, then there is no marriage.

To me, it's childish and immature when spouses stalk at each other. It is even more worrisome when this happens between engaged [not yet married] couples. Come to think of it, what keeps them together to even believing they will marry soon.

If I have to stop my wife from attending an event without me for 'sheer suspicion' then I should be able to be following her to her office even when are not working in the same office. It's only a foolish woman that can wait till the husband is unable to attend an event with her for her to confirm the husband's worst fear. Why not do it during lunch break or friends visitations, because you dont want me to believe you keep indoors all weekend or you visit everytime with your husband as aide-de-camp.

C'mon guys, it's the way you treat a woman you earn their respect.
BusinessRe: CBN Imposes Limits, Penalty On Cash Transactions, Again! by Koolking(m): 3:51pm On May 02, 2011
@Dremoney and hercules07: I doubt if you were able to wire USD20K within a week. I use Zenith Bank/GTB and ETB. ETB's is a little flexible, but Zenith is strict. I used to transfer USD10,000 per week not until April 1, 2010 when I received their circular that the offshore amount has been reduced to USD5000 per week. This policy favours bank at the detriment of it customers.

Instead of incurring an offshore charge of USD30 for transferring USD50000, a customer will now be compelled to split the USD50000 into USD5000 each per week, and incurring USD30 per USD5000 transferred for the week. I see this as a huge rip-off. Pls, kindly advise your bank may be I need to switch because this policy affect our business negatively.
BusinessRe: CBN Imposes Limits, Penalty On Cash Transactions, Again! by Koolking(m): 12:53pm On Apr 30, 2011
MAKING A WIRE TRANSFER OF USD30,000 TAKES FOREVER. APPARENTLY, IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS, GOODS ARE PACKAGED AND SHIPPED AFTER RECEIPT OF PAYMENT. MAKING AN URGENT INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS TRANSACTION WORTH USD1m IN NIGERIA IS CRASS BECAUSE OF CBN POLICY ON FOREX TRANSFER. THE POLICY PEGGED USD5000 AS THE MAXIMUM WEEKLY TRANSFER. TELL ME HOW MANY WEEKS IT WILL TAKE TO TRANSFER USD1M. SOME POLICIES NEED CLAUSES,

NORMAL NIGERIAN POLITICIAN PROMISES. I BET THIS WILL BE THE WORST GOVERNMENT IN THE HISTORY OF DEMOCRACY IN NIGERIA.

IN GEJ'S 13+ MONTHS AS THE PRESIDENT AFTER YAR'ADUA, HE DID NOTHING TANGIBLE. I BET NOTHING WILL BE ACHIEVED AFTER FOUR YEARS. I KEEP SAYING IT, I CHALLENGE HIM TO PROOF ME WRONG AFTER YEARS
BusinessRe: CBN Imposes Limits, Penalty On Cash Transactions, Again! by Koolking(m): 5:49pm On Apr 29, 2011
WHY DO WE LIKE PUTTING THE CART BEFORE THE HORSE. THIS IS A DUMB IDEA AT THIS PRESENT TIME. LET US ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF INFRASTRUCTURES FIRST BEFORE PUTTING ALL THESE POLICIES IN PLACE. IN AS MUCH AS WE ARE TRYING TO COMPETE WITH OTHER CASHLESS SOCIETIES, IT SHOULD BE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THESE SOCIETIES ARE INFRASTRUCTURALLY LEVERAGED.

INTERNET PENETRATION IN NIGERIA IS STILL A MIRAGE DUE TO MUCH LIP-SERVICE, PERSONAL INTEREST APPROACH OF STAKEHOLDERS AND GOVERNMENT. CBN/BANK CONSULTANTS CANNOT ALWAYS TAKE US FOR A WILD RIDE FOR THEIR ON POCKET.

ATM FRAUDS AND DEFICIENCIES ARE YET TO BE ADDRESSED. HERE WE GO AGAIN, PLEASE,THE COUNTRY IS NOT RIPE FOR THIS. LEVERAGE ON INFRASTRUCTURE FIRST.

THIS IS ANOTHER PRESS PROPAGANDA. THIS COULD RUBBISH GEJ GOVT IF HE IS NOT CAREFUL. EXCEPT WE ARE POISE FOR ANOTHER CIVIL WAR - NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN NIGERIAN CIVIL WAR.

COME TO THINK OF IT? I THOUGHT THESE GUYS WERE GIVEN AMNESTY. WHO WERE THE PEOPLE GIVEN AMNESTY THEN? IF THESE GUYS STILL EXIST, THEN THIS PORTRAYS THE INSINCERITY OF YAR'ADUA/GEJ GOVERNMENT. THEY STAGE-MANAGED THE MUCH TELEVISED AMNESTY PROGRAM

WHY ARE SOME NIGERIANS SO PAROCHIAL IN REASONING? WE ALLOW SENTIMENT TO BECLOUD OUR SENSE OF REASONING. MOST PEOPLE SEE THE SEEMING FAILURE OF OTHER CANDIDATES IN THE JUST CONCLUDED PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION AS 'DEFEAT' BY GEJ. THERE IS NO DEFEAT WITHOUT FAIRPLAY AND VICE-VERSA. OTHER CANDIDATES WERE NOT DEFEATED MY PEOPLE BUT WERE SCHEMED OUT OF THE RACE. I MUST SAY, IT WAS STOIC OF PDP TO HAVE RIGGED THE ELECTION . I WAS EMBARRASINGLY DISAPPOINTED IN GEJ WHO MAJORITY OF NIGERIANS FEEL IS A GOOD MAN.

PASTOR BAKARE AS A NIGERIAN, JUST LIKE ANY OF US HAS A RIGHT TO EXERCISE HIS CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT. HE MADE NO MISTAKE WHEN HE OFFERED HIMSELF TO SERVE. I WAS HAPPY WHEN HE BECAME AND OPPONENT. WE NEED A FORMIDABLE OPPONENT IN THE NIGERIAN POLITY.

IN THE SPIRIT OF FAIRPLAY, BAKARE WOULD HAVE EXCELLED. WE NEED PEOPLE LIKE THAT IN NIGERIA.

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND. I CHALLENGE GEJ TO PROVE ME WRONG [FOR BEING ONE OF CRITICS] IN THE NEXT 4OUR YEARS.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA

As a resident in Lagos, if you ask me who will you vote for in Presidential poll and Governorship poll I will enthusiastically tell you; President Goodluck and BRF respectively. Popular opinion!!

But does that affirm these contestants are who I will truly vote for? I don't allow popular opinions to influence my judgement. I don't get carried away by online polls.

ACTION speaks louder than WORD, remember.
RomanceRe: Having an Affair With My Cousin by Koolking(m): 4:36pm On Apr 04, 2011
Goldennoc, everything is wrong. Feelings of the opposite sex (sexual feelings) at a secluded place is hard to deny. I won't be surprised if you confess you have already had sex with your cousin.

I must say, already you have seen him not as a blood brother, but as a distant relation, and there is no way both of you will not be tempted to explore each other's emotional/physical/sexual attraction of each other.

The feelings you have developed for him are undeniable. It's more than just being fond of him but getting deeper with him. Please, let go before you commit incest if you have not commited yet.
