Hello House, Anyone in Amsterdam? will be visiting Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris next month. what is the weather like now? Is it winter yet? Just curious so that i can plan my vacation properly. Thanks |
Hello, Am very sure that 250K as your bank balance is too small for even a 3day vac. to europe, airfare alone will take 70% if not more....1500 Euros for 1 Month vacation even if someone is accommodating you there, guy its small (will you not continue to live your life when you return to naija? it does'nt make sense emptying your acct because of vacation and the only thing the visa officer will make out of this is that you have serious economic issues in your home country and thats why you want to travel out not to return, am sure you know the answer to that inference.....SURE VISA DENIAL STRAIGHT). YES, there is no fixed amount required as your bank balance but please do your calculation to cover for your vacation expense and for you to have reasonable amount that will sustain you for sometime when you return from your vacation, you see where your account statement/history will expose you that you're not financially strong enough to embark on the trip...Just wait till when you have enough. Statement of account is the print out of your finacial transaction, ask yor bank for it for the man who asked, your payment slip is the doc. given to you at the end of the month when your salary is paid by your employer, ask your human resources person if you are employed. Your introductory letter could be gotten from your employer if you are employed, it will normally state what your company do, your position with them, the date you joined etc. On the strong ties to your home country, demonstrating it for the schengen visa application does not need you to write anything, they will know from your application, they are stuffs that are percieved as reasons you will likely want to return back to your home country after your trip e.g. your marital status,(been married is strong tie and stronger even with kids, please do not tell lies), Your Job (having a lucrative job like a job with any of the blue chip or multinational coys, this they will see from your employment/introductory /cover letter), any assets you posess e.g Landed properties or estate (your car is not considered as an asset here), the history of your financial transactions could sometimes help to support that you are financially stable. Wish you all luck!!! |

Hello Bro, I've not applied for a visiting which is also a known as a tourist visa to Germany before but i know its equally a schengen visa. The conditions are fairly thesame, for instance i just got my second schengen visa, this time its to Netherlands and it was issued by France Embassy. I've never come across where you are mandated to have 6M Naira in your bank account before you can apply, infact i had just about 600k the first time i applied and i was issued, the second time which was just last week, i had over 2M although i know that i dont need that much in my acct to get the visa issued. Am sayinhg this because a colleague who also applied at about thesame time as i did said he had 750k (Naira) and he was also given, please lets be very sure of the information we post on this discussions so that we do not mislead people. The info i get on Nairaland have been very helpful and i would like us to only post things that are credible. Mr. that wants to get married, search this piece of info on the net and am sure you'll get your answer. |
Hello, you must provide your personal bank statement for the visa application even when you have a sponsor. I had about 600k when I first applied and my coy was my sponsor then. Without that, they might be funny ooh,! I picked my visa yesterday n I was issued a 3 month multiple, thank God! |
Hello Bros, Am not of the opinion that you should engage visa agents to help you get a visa. All the information you need is on the link i sent you. I camn attempt to give you a lead on some stuffs you nee to submit but the list may not be exhaustive and so you must go and look at the checklist on the link. 1) Print and fill the visa application form (tourist visa application) 2) Attach two passport fortographs in the prescribed dimension. 3) Get a cover letter from your employer or you get an invitation letter from the person inviting you 4) Print your 3 months statement of account (make sure u have enough funds, 1 Million Naira is not bad.(Do not lodge large amount of cash within the period, you must have built the account over the period) 5) Get your travel insurance to cover for the period while you'd be there, usually for 2 weeks trip is about 10k (u can use unitrust insurance or ask at any branch of guaranty trust bank, list of insurance coys is also on the link. 6) Hotel Reservation or any proof from your host that they will take care of your accomodation and feeding. Just check the checklist and you see all the info you need. And take your forms and every other docs for submission at VFS Office at VI. Getting a visa is not rocket science if your case is genuine, please DO NOT USE THE SERVICES OF AGENTS TO GET VISA. (What if they bail with your money or they issue a fake visa and you are caught in Amsterdam) |
Hello, There's no interview, all you do at the French Embassy is just Biometrics (Finger printing and pictures) and then you're told to pick up your passport after 10 working days, i initially tot there'l be an interview as i was interviewed the first time i applied in 2009 but this time the whole process has now changed (apply tru vfs etc) |
Go to the following addy; http://www.france-ng.com/ and all you need to know is clearly stated there. You will need to apply for a tourist visa. Best Of luck! Am expecting my own visain 5 days, since i did my biometrics 7 days ago. |
Hello, its a sensor problem, a friend had similar problem on its Baby boy and he said he changed some sensors and it now selects fine and easily. Get a good auto tech to fix it for you. |
Hi, Netherlands visa is presently administered by France embassy in Nigeria. You wiil submit your documents at the VFS Office on V.I and go to the French Embassy at Ikoyi for your biometrics and your visa should be ready after 10 working days if your case is genuine. |
Hello, the car is presently at a benz garage and it was scanned, it worked (selected) for just the test drive and it failed again. Now, the technician says i have to buy a new transmission, please anyone help. I live in PHC and this is really bordering me apart from the inconvenience and the money that is going into this repair!! |
The SRS indicator can definitley be fixed! My own problem still persists and am at the verge of getting a complete transmission which is a very expensive venture!!! Any suggestion on how to fix this my transmission issue will be highly welcomed please house!! |
Hi Poster, i guess the car is a mercedes benz!! My question here is that my own car doesnt select gear and once the car starts, it only starts at gear one and will refuse to select. Anyone experience this before?? |
Hello All, I am planning my vacation for Nov. 2012 and i will be visiting 3 European countries. Although, am applying for a Schengen visa through France Embassy as directed at the Netherlands Embassy website. The question i like to ask here is that, if i write Amsterdam, Netherlands as the place am visiting and i decide to visit Brusell,, Belgium and Paris, France on thesame trip. Does it in anyway constitute a breach of my visa terms (if my visa is valid for ''ESTAT SCHENGEN") I had recieved a schengen visa to Paris before but my french friend invited me to Germany but i refused because i thought the visa was only valied for france then. |
Hello Naija Speak, Look for cheap flights on-line na, u can check kayak, bookingbudy.com, travelocity etc, They offer cheap flights and you get your tickets...Simple. |
Hello House, I just need a clarification here. Am planning a trip (vacation) To amsterdam, netherlands. The coy I work for here in nigeria is paying my economy return ticket and also give me 750USd which they will state on the introductorY letter I will take to the embassy as they have done on my trips to Paris and Manchester in d past. I have 2 accts am presenting, a salary acct with about 400k naira and a personal acct of about 3.1m naira balance. My concern is that My acct with 3.1M balance I use for supplies and I frequently empty it at least two Times or more every month when I have supplies to make and large cash lodgements sometimes up to 2M naira are deposited into d acct at once. This has been the way I've been operating the acct since I opened it some six months ago. Can this be seen as large cash lodgements. |
Hello, Justwise et al, no one in the house is responding to my request on my canada trip....... |
Hello Bro, My application for the Canadian FSWP was actually returned at the initial stage. I sent in my docs and i got an e-mail after about 3months that my profession had been removed from the ministerial list and its no longer eligible for processing. Threafter, my documents were mailed back to me. |
Hello All, I am a 38 yr old Single Male Nigerian. Presently, i intend sending in my application for tourist visa to Canada. I have visited Paris, France and Manchester UK( both on vacations. I work for an Oil and Gas Coy in Nigeria, and my company is paying some part of my travel expense (airfare and accomodation) which they will state in the cover note as they have done for me on my previous trips. My Salary is about 400k/mnth. I have just about 3.5M in 2 accts i operate. My concern here is that, i have previously applied for the Canadian Federal Skill Worker Program in 2009 but was not accepted for the reason that my profession had been removed from the approved list of professions eligible for consideration. I have packaged all my docs. including hotel booking /reciepts from previous trips, even pictures of places i visited on tour, tour handbills/pamphlets etc from previous tours. I just like to know what my chances are otherwise i could choose to visit a different location apart from canada. Advise is needed please. |
Hello House, I am a 38 Year Old Single Male Nigerian, i am planning to visit Calgary, Canada on a 2 week vacation. I've downloaded the forms and filled for submission. I have made my hotel reservation and packaged all my documentation. As i am gainfully employed in Nigeria, i have recieved a letter of introduction from my company who will also pay part of my Holiday expenses, however i need to know if i need an invitation letter from anyone in canada( i do not have any relatives in canada). Also, i had applied for the Federal Skilled Worker Program in 2009 but rejected as my profession had been removed from the list of eligible professions. I just like to know what my chances are regarding the visa approval. I have travelled to Paris, France and Manchester,UK within the last three years. Appreciate an honest guidance on this. |

Hello House, I need advice for a friend on an issue as narated as follows; my friend's Dad is a nigerian who has now naturalised as an american and presently living in america. He has filed for american citizenship for my friend and her other siblings who are in nigeria and the stage at which the process is now is that in less than 4 months, my fri end and her siblings will have to appear at the american embassy here in nigeria. The challenge now is that their dad presented them as minors so as to fast track the process according to him. My friend is a graduate, works in a bank and her real age is 27yrs but her dad presented her as 19yrs in the application. Now, she's scared that it may not work out in their favour, though looking at her physically she may pass for 19yrs. Her fear is that sometime in 2001, her and her other 2 siblings were refused american visa when they first wanted to travel with their dad and since then they've not travelled. She said she couldn't remember if their biometric datas (fingerprints and eye) were taken then but we are thinking they may still have their data as they used their real ages then and if they find out, they may stop them from entering america for a long time. We know they'll do DNA test but not sure of bone test and will like to get advice from anybody who has had similar experience on this before. Is this risk worth venturing? |
Hello All, I earlier submitted a post on my experience at Gatwick Airport while entering the UK for the first time as a tourist though I had an expired Schengen visa on my passport as I had visited Paris a year back. I got to the immigration officer's desk, handed her my landing card and she started an extensive line of questioning on if I knew people in the UK for which I said know in compliance with the terms of my tourist visa. She looked at my hotel resrvation which was genuine and told me to go and sit! After sitting down for about an hour, another IO took me to my luggage, searched it and asked if I had anything I needed to declare, they saw 3 pieces of lady's weave on which was meant for a colleague also coming on vacation and who would be staying at same hotel with me. Thereafter, I was made to go through finger printing and x-ray scanning but I was eventually released after about 4hrs of this drama. I proceeded to my hotel and spent 1 week there before returning to Nigeria. My concern now is that I noticed that I was given a code 3 landing stamp and want to know if this could have any s Setback in my subsequent UK visa application. Somebody should please help!! |
Guys, its not about coursing and abusing selves now, common guys!!! I told you guys my ordeal and needed a clarification and you're fighting, well please respect your personalities! I am a Nigerian with Nigerian Passport, the passport is not virgin as i have used it to travel to Paris a year back. Like i said, my motives of travelling was vacation/shopping and i declared i didnt know anybody in the UK which was true. However, i had a ladies 'weave on' and jewelries somewhere in my luggage which is supposed to be for a friend who is also coming on vacation and will pick up the stuffs to give her folks here in the UK. I guess this was where the whole story became messy as they thaught i knew people here. However, i have since checked into my hotel room and thinking of appearing at the home office at the airport when am returning to Nigeria and also write a letter to the British High Commission in Lagos for this unneccesary hostility as i need to proof my bonafides and tell them to remove my data from data bases of terrorists and also be able to re-apply for visa without denial. Thanks |
Hello Peeps, I entered the UK with a tourist visa with the intention of spending my vacation here at Manchester and also shopping. I entered through Gatwick Airport, but at the airport i was extensively questioned for over four hours, made to go through x-ray scanning, finger printing, several interviews, extensive search of my luggage, diaries etc. Nothing related to me having any connection with anybody in the UK was found. Thereafter i was further detained in a room there at the airport and made to fill and sign deportee/ detainee forms but after about 4 hrs of waiting, the immigration officer walked up to me where i was delayed and handed over my passport to me and told me i could go but i noticed that a coded permit to enter (Code 3) was stamped on my passport. Can someone tell me why all these and the implication of this on my subsequent entry and visa applications. KMD |
