PoliticsRe: PDP To CPC: You Are Too Blind To Notice Jonathan’s Achievements” by koruji(m): 4:59am On Dec 28, 2012
Why do you people argue for negatives?
May be we should just abolish the FG then?
The man GEJ is lacking in vision and is indecisive even when what needs to be done is clear.
GEJ, as the head of the FG, holds all the cards on national resources, security agencies, and many more.
Just the other day his administration took the unheard of step of stopping a WB loan that was already been disbursed to Lagos.
Yet, you are here talking nonsense - a complete lack of common sense that comes with chronic cynicism or pretentious fundamentalism.

The bottom line is this - if a party heads a government for 13 years and fails to perform then it needs to be replaced.
Nigeria has many capable hands than GEJ, but PDP can only find the likes of GEJ under whom they can feed their beast of corruption without fear.

We need to change parties.
I have said it times without number, when people were here talking about voting for GEJ and not PDP, that
...a BAD party can destroy a GOOD individual, whereas a GOOD party can keep even the WORST individual in check.
...PDP has demonstrated itself to be a very bad party that draws and throws up the worst public officials anywhere in the world.

Mahatma Ghandi: despite the fact i dont like GEJ, i feel it wont be fair to point fingers at GEJ and PDP excluding the
governors and other political parties, some other political parties has at least one state under their control, can we call any one of these opposition controlled states the dubai of nigeria ? if the answer is NO then the opposition should shutup and put their house in order, if they cant transform the states under their control, how do they expect to transform the nation. other political parties have reps in the national assembly what difference have these reps made are they not part of the people stealing nigeria into oblivion, as far as i am concerned both the opposition and the ruling party are birds of a feather, difference being one has unlocked the code of perpetuating itself in office to the disatisfaction of the other thieves. tinubu's hand is not clean neither is buhari's, a wise man once said when you have to kill one of two things for the survival of one, becareful the one you kill and the one you spare, bottom line is if you want to insult GEJ or the PDP make sure to add the opposition too least you make the opposition look like saints.

That is certainly good news, but don't get ahead of yourself.
The fact is that subsidized fertilizer has been a policy of the FG for ages.
Hopefully, they have improved the situation where those same fertilizer bags show up on the open market the very next day.
We can only hope.

PoliticsRe: Newly Built School In Osogbo With Capacity Of 900 Pupils by koruji(m): 5:12pm On Dec 26, 2012
Another example of your false honesty. You simply have no idea what you are talking about.

First, Aregbesola returned any unspent balance from Oyinlola's Sherlock loan. The N25 billion loan you mentioned was arranged to replace the rest of the balance with more favorable terms. Aregbesola has stated times without number that they have not drawn from this loan except to pay off the balance of the former loan. Second when you calculate N2 billion for 25 months u get N50 billion. Finally the bond Osun applied for was N22 billion although investors would have provided N40+ billion.

So when you say above that Aregbesola has received N300 billion you show your PDP face. Even if he has received that much over more than 2 years that is still Bayelsa's one year budget for about the same number of people.

Attempts to destroy the good work Aregbesola is doing after years of PDP fraud will surely fail spectacularly.

bolajess: @Gbawe .. I am not a perfect guy neither are you and this is a discussion .. if there was only Aregbesola and Oyinlola on the ballot, I would vote Aregbesola but we all should be honest and not argue blindly .. I have learned my lessons from the last general elections when I voted GEJ because I couldn't trust that Buhari wasnt a religious or ethnic bigot. GEJ is just too bad beyond bad.

However for the allocation, Aregbesola took N25B loan and mind you he met N9B in the state covers ( being the unspent balance from the N18.6B loan Oyinlola took), and after that he took another bond of N65B. So use your head and add that up with you almost N2B a month and tell me what you get in almost 25 Months. Mind you, Aregbesola had a budget of over N120B in almost 2 years. So tell me something else.

I urge you to fight these idiots rather than praise them. Mind you Aregbe in 2 years hasn't commissioned any single road project successfully completed. Rather it is always noise. He said Mimiko was stupid for claiming to build mega schools and yet he is deceiving himself that he is building mega schools.
PoliticsRe: Newly Built School In Osogbo With Capacity Of 900 Pupils by koruji(m): 4:53pm On Dec 26, 2012
And you have received the crown of ignor-arrrog-ance for your nonsense below.

bolajess: Let it be know to all here that although the project is a fantastic step. Aregbesola is only building that one alone in Osogbo and on an express road for propaganda only. I believe it were to be an honest and sincere project, it should be at least 1 in every local government. Please dear Nigerians lets wake up and not be deceived by little propaganda's anymore .. Aregbe as collected over 300B and this is just what he has to show us. Let's kick ACN, PDP and all other liers away. We can't continue like this. Osun has over 400 schools and builing one in 2 years is madness. It will take us 800 years to re-build all 400 at this crazy pace. Stand up my people. I live in Osun and I know what I am saying.

PointB: My guy, leave Bayelsa out of this. There will be time and space hopefully allocated to scrutinize Bayelsa.

What is that crap about suspended bridge? The same bridge the private concessionaire will cut my throat with huge toll to use in order to recover their investment?

Is Lagos State not receiving FG allocations in billions of Naira on monthly basis? Is Lagos State not generating above N26 billion monthly in IGR? Multiply these figures by 6 or even 3 years, and show us a quality work done with this huge fund accrued by your principal - Fashola, in this period of time?

Quit showing us Lekki tolled road, or some elitist suspended bridge that will be massively tolled! Where are the huge hospital to cater for the poor populace? One of you AC.N touts claimed he commissioned some new water project, why is there no running water in homes? Or this the same Obj style of commissioning Power projects only to bequeath darkness on us? The Lagos-Badagry 10 lane road is a World Bank funded project, Ikorodu Road expansion that is still on paper is awaiting world bank loan! What is Fashola doing with N30 billion monthly income? Does he simple share it with Tinubu?

Those who come to equity must do so with clean hands. You brainwashed AC.N goons should stop pulling wools over people's eyes, either Fashola is as clueless as they come; a massive failure or chronic thief, you lots have to pitch your tent in one of those camps. To buttress the point I made in the post above here is a post by hypocrite9gerian taking the credit for the increase in rice production in Nigeria for the "Federal Government" without data of any sort: https://www.nairaland.com/1134896/fao-records-increase-local-rice#13423189

Please ask him how many hectares of rice farms GEJ has supported since he appeared in politics, not just as president, but since the early 2000s.
Ask him to tell us where are the rice mills GEJ has commissioned where the FG is encouraging rice production - may be you will find one among his empty promises.
Meanwhile, here the tireless Fashola's account of accomplishment in this area (please note the comprehensive plan for supplying food to Lagos indicated in the piece you are about to read):

LAGOS STATE : FASHOLA, TIJANI COMMISSION IMOTA RICE MILL

Lagos State Governor Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) in company of the Minister of State for Agriculture, Mallam Bukar Tijani on Tuesday handed over the 20,000 metric tonnes Imota Rice Processing factory, with the Governor charging youths to roll up their sleeves to work on the farms being created by the Government.

Governor Fashola who spoke at the processing factory in Imota before he embarked upon a guided inspection of the rice factory said the time of discrepancy by some youths in Lagos State is over.

“The time for wealth without work is over. You must all understand that no nation prospers if it seeks wealth without work. This is one of the places where we can create wealth if we go back to the land and farm”.

“Our land is too green for us to be hungry. It is too green for us to export agric jobs outside the country. Go back to the land and the farms we are creating”, the Governor stated.

Fashola who acknowledged the support and innovativeness of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture led by the Minister, Dr Akinwunmi Adeshina stated that for the present administration in Lagos, it beliefs that once elections are over, the only task remaining is service to the people and hard work.

He explained whenever the State Government disagrees with any policy of the Federal Government it is because the administration believes that there are better options and not that it is fighting the FG.

He added that if there are programmes being undertaken by the Federal Government which the State believes it should not reinvent the wheel over, it would wholeheartedly support it.

The Governor, while commending the purposeful collaboration that exists between the Lagos State Government and the Federal Government, reiterated that hunger and poverty knows no political party or colour but strikes with equal measure.

The Minister of State for Agriculture, Mallam Bukar Tijani commended the present administration in Lagos for putting the State in the rice production map of the country with the rice mill factory.

He said if all States in Nigeria follow the footsteps of the Lagos State, Nigeria will achieve the target for self sufficiency in food set by the President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan before the target year of 2015.

He said it does not speak well of a country like Nigeria whose need is about 5million metric tonnes of rice annually if it continues to spend its hard earned foreign exchange of importation of rice from Asian countries of Thailand, Bangladesh and even sister African countries.

The Minister said governance is all about responding to the needs of the people who voted in the government and said Governor Fashola should be commended for taking care of the needs and aspiration of his people.

He commended Governor Fashola for buying in into the transformation agenda of President Jonathan, saying that it is the preoccupation of those at the helm of affairs in the agric ministry to ensure that the rice value chain support all Nigerians in food security and nutrition.

The Minister said the commercial agriculture project being undertaken by the Federal Government will get added boost if it succeeds in Lagos State because it will make farmers very rich.

The Governor disclosed that the Rice mill story started four years ago when he was sworn in to office and he was informed that the rice production capacity of the State yearly is 30 hectares.

He added that through sustained efforts spread over two and half years, it was increased to 250 hectares, adding that government was also concerned about embarking upon strategic irrigation to keep the farm wet always.

“We resolved to do 500 hectares per annum but we were now told, if you do this, how do you process it? So, we decided in 2011 to building this processing mill before we increase production so that there will be no wastages when we achieve increase production”.

“But also we had a problem of yield per hectare. We are doing average of one tone per hectare and we want to go to at least two hectares and progress from there. So, in Araga, Badagry, we are doing a strategic irrigation intervention that will keep the field land wet all through the year with water to grow the rice. In addition we have also written to the minister of agric to give us land in the River Basin Authority. I am made to understand that that request is receiving favourable consideration”, the Governor stated.

He charged all business minded Nigerians to look towards the prospect that exists with the rice that will be cultivated in Ogun State but transported to Lagos, adding that all those who are making okada riding a way of life now should think of embracing the business of driving farm trucks to convey the rice.

Governor Fashola who also spoke on the 4.65km network of roads in the Ikorodu fish farm estate and the poultry farm estate said the rice mill will produce enough rice which is staple food, chicken, eggs and fish which is the food chain the Minister talked about and where everybody will have a place if they can think through.

The State Governor said the fish farm in Odogunyan is one of the examples of the strategic intervention of the State adding that the impact of a 4.5 kilometer road constructed in the estate is already obvious in the fortunes of the fish farmers in the area.

“There are so many ways in which we can intervene. We can intervene by infrastructure, by inputs, by increased budgetary allocations, innovative policies at the State, Federal and other levels”.

The Governor stated that at the Erikorodo Poultry farm estate, the government has intervened to give land to about 136 poultry farmers with the opening of a broiler house where 10, 000 day old chicks are processed into full chicken.

“We also opened a feed mill that will serve all the farmers in the Poultry estate so that the mill is being produced there and the chicks are also produced there. We also have a feed mill and a processing plant where all the chicken can get to the consumers after being cleaned”.

“This is a fully integrated poultry estate. This is government intervention to provide a breeding facility for 10,000 broilers per day, to provide also a feed mill to produce all the feed to support all the farmers in this estate and I believe there are 137 farmers here and also a processing facility to process all your chicks, clean them, package them, freeze them and get them ready for delivery to the market. We will walk or talk and give every support to anybody who takes farming seriously”, Governor Fashola explained

Governor Fashola reiterated that he sees business opportunities for people in terms of how the processed chicken can reach the market, adding that drivers would be needed to drive the refrigerator vans that will be used to preserve the chicken just as he urged all entrepreneurs who deal in refrigerated vehicles to head to Lagos where business opportunities looms.

The Governor who emphasized that the story of the development does not end there because the Imota Industrial Estate is a 23 hectare estate that will involve the Ministries of Commerce, Works and Energy providing network of roads, regular water supply and uninterrupted power supply in the estate so that people can invest there.

He also spoke on the challenges of illegal settlement on government land in the Ikorodu area especially as it involves Ikorodu/Mile 12 road as many structures have been developed on the setback.

He said the State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development has the go ahead of the State Executive Council to remove to remove all such structures on the road.

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Co-operatives, Prince Gbolahan Lawal said the State Government remains fully committed to ensuring that Lagosians have unhindered access to affordable quality food and agricultural produce.

He said it is based on that conviction that agriculture featured prominently at the just concluded Ehingbeti 2012 Lagos Economic Summit which focused on the PATH which is an acronym for Power, Agriculture, Transportation and Housing.

The Commissioner said the test run of the factory has been completed and the main product (well polished rice) compares favourably with the best quality rice from any part of the world and is estimated to produce between 350,000 and 400,000 bags of rice every year.

He said the Poultry estate is one of the five farm estates located in different parts of the state to bring self sufficiency in chicken production and is expected to produce about one million eggs and 600,000 live birds annually.

“Our collaboration with the Federal Government and the World Bank in the Commercial Agricultural Development Projects (CADP) has continued on a fruitful path especially in the areas of improving the business environment for agriculture by assisting participating small and medium scale commercial farmers to the market”, Prince Lawal stated.

Mr. Emanuel Ijewere a member of the Presidential Committee on Agricultural Transformation, in his solidarity message, commended the agricultural policy been embarked upon by the Lagos State Governor adding that several more farmers are needed in Lagos and that the time for people to become farmers in Lagos State is now because they will profit from it.

The Ranodu of Imota, Oba Ajibade Bakare Agoro also commended the State Governor for fulfilling his electioneering campaign and ensuring a completion of the project. He expressed the hope that the project will signpost several other laudable projects that will sited in Imota by the present administration.

The Governor was accompanied to the commissioning venues by members of the State Executive Council, Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, member of the House of Representatives, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, and was conducted round the Erinkorodo Poultry farm estate coordinator, Mr. Kamara Chopra while the consultant to the state on rice mill project, Mr. Oluwarotimi Fashola conducted him round the rice mill.

You people must think this forum is full of your like.
It worries the ear to hear such false honesty from your lying fingers: "For your information I am not supporting GEJackal or PDP. I am just stating the obvious that Fashola has done close to nothing...".
Wonders shall never end.

Let's compare the Bayelsa and Lagos budgets for 2013 for a minute.
Lagos' budget N490 billion - definitely the largest of all states.
Bayelsa's budget of about N385 billion, about 3/4 that of Lagos.

Now for some real accounting:
First, Bayelsa's budget doesn't count its share from 100s of billions GEJ pipes through NDDC, amnesty and other backdoors but that is it for Lagos.
Second, Bayelsa's population is about 3 million at the max, Lagos officially about 12 million but well known worldwide to be 15 to 18 million.

Do the math:
The budget for Bayelsa ==> N130K per head
The budget for Lagos a meagre ==> N33K per head.
Yet, Lagos has accomplished more, with that meagre resource and a lot of ingenuity, than Bayelsa under GEJ (and his thiefing benefactor) accomplished over the last 10 years.

We know who is commissioning the first suspension bridge in Nigeria.
The same one who keeps rolling out completed projects one after the other.
Even with all the pilfering that GEJ is doing for Bayelsa
There is nothing to show beyond the Bayelsa big-men accumulating houses and getting jailed in British Courts.

Shame on you for being so blind.
And may you be close to nothing the way you have judged Fashola's accomplishments close to nothing.

I think GEJ needs to explain to us the difference between "hasteful" and "urgent/emergency" decision in his mind .
Below, he actually suggested his response to the recent "flood" was fast - basically he got his friends to collect funds only because the flood affected his home state this time.
What should we say about his political approach to the massive SW floods in the previous yearhuh

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/12/why-nigerians-think-im-slow-president-jonathan/
on DECEMBER 26, 2012
Ben Agande, Abuja.

President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday explained why most Nigerians believed that his administration was slow in implementing and responding to some of the people-oriented policies and projects of the government.

Accoring to him, this was because of his resolve to avoid taking hasty decisions that may be fraught with mistakes and which might be more difficult to correct.

The president who stated this during the Christmas Day service at the Diocese of Abuja Anglican Communion, the Cathedral Church of the Advent Life Camp, Gwarinpa, Abuja added that the foundation being laid for infrastructural development would stand the test of time.

According to the president, “By human thinking, our administration is slow, I won’t say we are slow but we need to think through things properly if we are to make lasting impact. If we rush we will make mistakes and sometimes it is more difficult to correct those mistakes.

File photo: President Goodluck Jonathan addressing the Nation at The State House in Abuja
“I want to assure Nigerians that any step we take whether little or giant, we won’t go back. And where we need to act fast we will do so, that we demonstrated with the flood disaster because it required immediate response.

“Democracy must be dictated by ballot papers and I think we have achieved that with electoral reform. We will not go back but will continue to improve.

“For our transformation to be sustained we Nigerians must be reformed. We must not see our country as where we make money only and build walls and live as prisoners because of the criminal activities of few” he said.

The president who was accompanied to the church service by his family members reiterated that his administration is committed and will keep faith with its promises.

“At least what we are doing in agriculture, transportation and power has been noted by the Primate. We have laid solid foundation for power, agriculture and transport sectors and I can assure you we will not go back again.

The President also underscored the need for re-orientation in the country, noting that a situation where some criminal minded Nigerians vandalise government properties to sabotage government’s effort must be condemned as such actions are tantamount to the transformation plan of the government.

“People play politics with things that affect even their own lives. You wonder why a person that carries saw to go and cut down a conductor carrying cables that produce electricity, because you want a government to fail. This happened somewhere in Enugu. You begin to wonder if they are humans. That is why we need to reform if we must transform” he said.

While emphasising the crucial role of the church in mobilising support for government, the president said; “The church has a great role to play if the transformation must succeed because you can’t transform without reformation and is the role of the church to do so.

“I urge the church to come up with various programmes to talk about how we Nigerians can be reform.”

Yar'adua and GEJ were handed a country almost free of international debt,
...with $20+billion in the Excess Crude Account
...and $45+billion in foreign reserves.

They immediately started tearing down laudable but uncompleted projects.
The worst was the reversal of the sale of refineries to Dangote and co.
Today, Dangote has developed his sugar and cement business tremendously.
Who knows what those guys could have done for refining in Nigeria.

They promised us many many things all of which came to naught.
Then the masses helped GEJ obtain the position of Acting president.
In 2011, they made him full President.
Yet the man keeps spewing one empty promise after the other.

At the end of 2010 he said judge me next year.
At the end of 2011 he said one year is not enough to judge me.
At the end of 2012 he said I will surprise everyone in 2013.
...
At the end of 2014 he will like to say...

What you are calling distractions are his own doings.
You cannot put a baby on a wall and call the consequences "distractions".
In 2010, we foresaw most of what you now call "distractions".
And advised him to take decisive action.

Instead we got all kinds of nonsensical utterances
...and sometimes downright embarrassing comments out of Aso Rock.

The only "impactful" policy of GEJ so far was
...the ill-advised and painful subsidy removal
...when it came to this he was "battle-ready".
...come back and tell us if GEJ did not spend
...about the same amount on subsidies in 2012 as 2011.
...yet, half of the subsidies were removed in January and
...the price of petroleum on the world market has gone down.
...please work out the difference for yourself.
...then come back here and let's talk about it.

Instead he let loose his animal farm squealers in an attempt
...to muzzle the voice of the population - he lost.
...And your job at this time is to try a new tack at that failed effort
...Beaf is gone forever, but his minions or apprentices
...You, for example, continue to walk the alleyways of the WWW.
...You would like us to believe GEJ has only had two years.

You will fail woefully.
For there is no other reason other than another con-job in 2015.
Unfortunately, you can only tell that shoe-less story once.

Please show us his major achievements during the following periods
...Governor of Bayelsa - 2005 to 2007

...President - 2010 to 2012

Let me help you - may your life be as successful as the performance of GEJ.

Only shows he gat no answer. All he has are diversionary tactics but we will not be detered! Everybody knows Uduaghan has been a flop and he is even trying to get some public approval now, but they have been telling us that Fashola has constructed more roads than Ghana. A big insult to Ghanians! This is the second thread now and we are still searching. Na wa!

You son of molasses might think yourselves wise. But you are nothing more than irritants to be flicked off with the snap of the finger. Hang yourself in protest, if you will.

Even for you this is s.tupid. I thought you said they were all the same pictures. Yet each was a different project.

Worse still u had the audacity to bring Uduaghan up. The governor that claimed to clear a hill at the airport with N7+billions. Don't start a laugh riot here.

thelastPope: @Rhino whatever, you are making a foool of yourself posting the same useless pictures over and over again. The first one is Lekki toll gate on Lekki road that was expanded via a PPP agreement. The other one a shopping mall. The next one your IPP that only powers government office. The other one your maternity center. Is that a worthy achievement for 6 years? Uduaghan has done far better than that! You are making a mockery of yourself, it is so sad!

Eyes they have but they cannot see...
Hears they have bu they cannot hear...
So said the Lord Jesus to the Pharisees of his day -the offsprings of vipers.

To which I add, brains they have but it is all crap matter.

Sincere 9gerian: My dear, I'm glad you'r here. Thank you for opening our eyes on this issue. I just wanted to push or probe further for the achievements of Fashola in 6yrs. Unfortunately, every SEARCH so far ended in disappointment. But I'm still searching and hopeful to stumble on something tangible. Something that could come near N30billion monthly revenue multiplied by 6yrs.

Fasola keeps rolling out completed projects one after the other yet to you it is massive hype. Just don't you worry. We are surely enjoying this massive hype in Lagos. Now run along and enjoy rhe non-massive hype in your home state.

Awon oluya.

thelastPope: My brother, it is massive hype and it started from Tinubu's time in office. Do you know that Tinubu held a ceremony to commision the repairs of adeola Odeku street? I was shocked that day when I got to the Island to see that a canopy was mounted on the Silverbird end of the road causing traffic to be diverted elsewhere and hardship for everyone. I went to check what was going on only to find out Tinubu was celebrating the rehabilitation of adeola Odeku road with a party on the road! I mean, if GEJ ever tries that for any of his projects, these ACN touts will quickly rush to NL to tell us he is not doing us a favour and should not be praised for anything since it is our right! Such hypocrites like demdem, gbawe, oyb, seanet, kobojunkie, etc. Double speaking idiotas with no conscience at all!
PoliticsRe: Searching For Fashola's Achievements by koruji(m): 11:25am On Dec 25, 2012
Your brain is the massive fraud for coming up with such crap. You need to return it and find a better doctor for it.

Awon oluya.

PointB: How much is the total cost of the Ikorodu road expansion project? How much is the current IGR of Lagos state? What is the IGR and Federal Allocation used for? How many other states in the Federation borrow huge sum from external source to finance road expansion? Answers to these question will give you an inkling to the massive fraud and shenanigans going on in Lagos State Government under Fashola's watch. Bottomline is why Fashola and Tinubu loots Lagos, the mindless minions in Nairaland other media (print and online) use massive propaganda to launder Fashola and re-direct gullible folks to attack the PDP. Sad that many people are fooled to believe the Fashola myth and legend.

Every available evidence shows the flower planter is a complete mediocre, and total fraud. Lagosians, and patriotic Nigerians should ask for more transparency in Lagos State finances, even though they might not get it!
PoliticsRe: Searching For Fashola's Achievements by koruji(m):
Original dunce-head.

If PPP were a simple private affair without able govt. hands to make it happen Lagos-Ibadan road should now be 10 lanes under GEJ. Given the way he makes empty pomises GEJ should be commissioning a highway to heaven!!!

Billyonaire: This bridge is in Lekki where I live and its built via PPP and its tolled, its not the State funds.
Lekki Epe expressway is also tolled cos its PPP. Honestly, I have personally not seen achievement of Fashola in this part of the state, but I dont know about other places. ACN will not be winning election in this part of the state anymore. Someone has to use Federal Allocation to pay off these Tinubu-Fashola LCC cabal that put us on line of credit and free us from the Lion of Bourdillon's fraudulent quest for money.
Foreign AffairsMali Islamists Destroy Timbuktu Mausoleums by koruji(op): 5:58am On Dec 25, 2012
This is really a sad outcome for Africa.
The fools in Egypt also want to destroy the Egyptian monuments.
...monuments that have stood for 1000 of years even before the religion itself, not to talk of some crazy fanatics.
The world needs to take on these crazies in Africa before it is too late.

http://news.yahoo.com/mali-islamists-destroy-timbuktu-mausoleums-143731558.html
BAMAKO, Mali (AP) — A tourism official says that Islamist extremists destroyed four mausoleums in Timbuktu Sunday.
The director of Mali's Timbuktu tourism office, Sane Chirfi, said that Ansar Dine rebels linked to al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb tore down the mausoleums, which were historic but not included on the United Nations list of World Heritage sites. The mausoleums housed the remains of Muslim scholars and teachers who are revered by the Timbuktu population.
Since taking control of Timbuktu earlier this year, the Islamists have destroyed seven of the 16 mausoleums listed as world heritage sites. Some date back to the 14th century.
According to many residents, the destruction of the graves is the rebels' reaction to the recent U.N. resolution calling for an international military intervention to remove the Islamists from northern Mali.

You mean the plan for 36 airports that will be dropped next year.

Just last week the FG dropped plans for refineries.
I guess we don't need refineries anymore. cheesy cheesy cheesy

President GEJ needs to stop making any more promises.
Pick any number of those you made in 2010 and 2011, and make sure they happen in 2013.
Then we shall all hear you.
Right now you are talking to the wall.

It seems you are blind - may you never see then.

Sincere 9gerian: The opening of the thread, referenced below, triggered MASSIVE search for the achievements of Fashola, the 'performer', in the last 6yrs. The search began few days ago but so far nothing tangible has been found. Already tens of thousands of people have moved in groups, to the nooks and cranny, hoping that something tangible will be found soonest. On my part, I am leading a group of about 500 persons on this same issue. So far our efforts have not yielded fruit but we'r still searching and very hopeful (provided Fashola's achievement were not kidnapped recently).
Please where ever you are, join in the MASSIVE search for Fashola's much talked about achievement in Lagos. If you find any, pls let us know on this forum.
Time is running out!

PoliticsRe: ACN To Test Merger With Other Oppositions With Anambra 2014 Gov Poll-Ngige by koruji(m): 6:29pm On Dec 24, 2012
Are you people this crazy?
Is ACN going to put a Yoruba man as the governor of your state?
Is the same CPC not the closest ally of ACN?
The funny thing is that you are probably writing this crap living in Yorubaland, working for a Yoruba employer, etc.
What is wrong with you - that you 'll rather be oppressed than be freed by good governance just because ACN is in control in Yorubaland today.
What Ngige has stated is clear - ACN will join with other parties to wrestle Nigeria from the PDP vultures.
Any Nigerian with half a brain should be in support of that - because it is PDP's character to go from bad to worse.

Series22: Ngige cant win anambra.. Tufiakwa! Yorubber party? Instead of Acn in anambra we shal vote CPC
