This is way over the line.
Contain yourself - it is not a small matter to call someone "Omo Ale" in Yorubaland.
I hope you find it fitting to apologize to Seun over that one line - the rest is your prerogative.

0lumide: Seun has fuked up!!!

Omo Ale Yoruba na him you be Seun!

You didn't say anything about the threads that were made to bring down the Image of Awolowo.

When Awoists reacted by making Achebe -Most heard anti Awo- the hall of shame award winner, you are now looking for controversy?

Why didn't you talk before the process started? Wow! You are going to lose a lot of traffic here sir! Trust me. Naijapals is smiling right now.

You are probably too young or too forgetful.
It will never work - the only armed takeover that works is a massive shoot-out between the elite and the masses - the latter well-armed of course, the former is armed and ready.
Even then what you are left with at the end of the day is a bloodied nation - that will continue to stagger for decades after.

kingoflag: Yes, if they will take over, make a list of 500 most corrupt Nigerians--250 btwn the North and the South---and execute them within 72hrs of the putsch and let the chips fall where they may, then start the country anew. Anything outside of violently eliminating the people destroying Nigeria and yall just wasting your time crying, as your kids and grand-kids are sure to carry on wailing where you left off. You are not dealing with civilized people in Government, you are dealing with barbarians and warlords that do not care what you say to them in a gentle-manly manner; the sooner you guys realize that, the better. So, I say, yes to a coup if it will immediately eliminate the criminal elements in Govt. Oh, and for those of you who think one is not in the offing, explain to me why GEJ is running scared and why 51 Officers were hurriedly retired last night. GEJ and his gang can only postpone the inevitable, they can't prevent it. Its called History, those who fail to learn from it....

You are just waking up to write nonsense.
Yes, ineffective governors could use goodwill gestures to cover incompetence.
Does that mean performing governors cannot make goodwill gestures or that if they do make such gestures they must be incompetent?
May be so in the oblongata from where you produced the below.
Aregbesola is a performing and thinking governor.

Ngwakwe: If the provision of transportation or paying for it, is a sign of good governance then go back to your newspaper archives and start congratulating the Mallam Governors and past Military Administrators followed by their South East Counterparts for a job well done.

Ineffective governments will always seek to balance their incompetence with one politically motivated goodwill.

I will always prefer earning money through employment and paying tax than receiving undue social handouts from the Government.

The Government should do their job and then provide the enabling environment for prosperity..

No more military rule - if GEJ wants to crash Nigeria with his bumbling administration so be it.
The military is the worst thing that happened to Nigerian administration.
Never again - if they want to preserve the little dignity they have left in the eyes of Nigerians they better stay away.

You should look below at the report of Maku's interview on Satellite TV today.
He basically confirmed that both stories - the initial one and the one on this topic are true.
His words show, as I pointed out above, that we had two parts of the story which are consistent when explained as he did.
So, leave SR alone and focus on the fact that this would be the second time Maku has mentioned that Sani pulled out of the helicopter talk to travel alone.

It could be that Sani was culpable or that his instincts saved him on that fateful day.

The important thing is that we need to get to the bottom of these deaths without delay.
Otherwise, if somebody was behind this, others better watch out!!!

ebucha: You people are just missing the point here. Truth is that Sahara Reporters has bein paid to make Nigerians misconstrue Maku's statement which when looked at critically indicts the Vice President's special advicer Mr sani Umar. Read through his statement again and please tell me who informed Mr Sani Umar to IGNORE the crashed chopper and fly alone? http://www.punchng.com/news/we-almost-travelled-in-crashed-copter/#comment-968805

Something is not right with this story.
If this story is true, I think Maku has unwittingly uncovered a carefully orchestrated elimination plan.
It would appear that someone redirected their pre-prepared itinerary, and caused them to get on that copter.
I want to know how both Gov. Yakowa and Gen. Azazi got to the funeral in the first place.

Otherwise, it begs the imagination that Gov. Yakowa and Gen. Azazi did not have their own pre-arranged transport to/fro the funeral before coming down to Bayelsa.
If this were the case, then Nigeria is even more in danger and vulnerable than one can imagine - completely incompetent people at the helms!!!

Arobam: Bentv Channel
An exclusive interview with Nigeria’s Minister of Information Hon. Labaran Maku took place today with BEN Television, (Europe’s first Ethnic Satellite channel).
The Minister was reacting to erroneous claims that he was present at the take-off of the ill-fated helicopter from Bayelsa State that crashed killing 6 people including the Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Yakowa and the former National Security Adviser General Andrew Azazi.
We asked the Minister to give us a detailed account of the events. According to the Minister, after the burial of Oronto Douglas father’s, the Minister along with Kanu and Ogbonnayo Nwankwo, Timi Alaibe, Ben Bruce’ Jnr brother, Sani Umar, the Special Adviser on Media to Vice President and the late NSA, were invited back to Douglas’ house for a meal. The Governor, NSA, the Minister and Sani Umar discussed getting a helicopter together at 3pm but Umar later declined. The Minister decided to stay in the compound whilst all the others decided to go into the house. Whilst waiting outside, an earlier helicopter arrived to pick up guests at 2pm. The Minister decided to take the earlier ride with another group including Kanu Nwankwo and Timi Alaibe.
The Minister had already arrived in Port Harcourt when he heard news of the crash. Indeed, without the arrival of the 2PM chopper, he also would have been on the ill-fated helicopter. In essence he was not in Bayelsa State when it happened.
The Minister expressed surprise that few media houses were deciding to focus on him when many families were mourning the loss of loved ones and further added “the media should be an instrument to carry news fairly, accurately and without biased.” He prayed that Nigeria as a nation will witness more progress, developments and have respect for each other in 2013 and onward.

@Gbawe
Exactly.
When GEJ and his cabinet were lying to us about the first lady's illness SR told us factually she was sick.
It was SR that first reported the burial date for GEJ's brother even before the presidency made it known.
As mentioned below, SR will get it wrong sometimes but everyone with some level of patriotism left in them will realize that SR has kept the searchlight on the crooks in power - whereas the major media outlets have failed us.

Gbawe: What on earth are you talking about? Saharareporters may not be perfect but do you and others want a few example of the revelations they brought to the awareness of the Nigerian public while other news sources collected brown envelops to lie to us?

When the Presidency , through liars like Maku and Abati, told you the first lady was "resting" in Germany, who revealed the true state of affairs to Nigerians? When Saharareporters was busy telling an entire Nation the truth about the real situation with Yar Adua's health, what was all other news source doing if not attending Aso Rock to collect bribe abd sign an oath of secrecy "in the interest of National security". Who reveals GEJ's appointees correctly before they are announced? I think people like you confuse whistle-blowing to be a science. Even in advanced nations, whistle-blowers are allowed to get it wrong by virtue of how they use sources who often don't wish to be quoted !!!!! Whistle-blowing is more similar to espionage because it involves exposing what Politicians want to keep secret by all means - and truthful folks know saharareporters do that very well !!!!

I have lost count of how many factual breaking news saharareporters have delivered that all other news sources were conveniently ignorant of. I really don't understand Nigerians. Saharareporters, imperfection and all, would be superstars in Nations where people still have properly calibrated compasses to appreciate one of the few sources of truth in an ocean of compromised and corrupt reportage.

Folks can insult saharareporters all they want. It just confirms what Nigerians are becoming. A people who hound goodness yet embrace and defend evil willingly.

Ignor-arrog-ance is troubling you nay-sayers over here.
You think the man is a fool?
He is promoting goodwill for the state, and helping to keep her citizens happier during this period.
It is well-known that road transporters jack up prices during this period.
Aregbesola provides a service that avoids that extortion for a few thousand people (that need it most) by paying for their transport at a pre-arranged cost.
The money the visitors would have spent on transport would be used to celebrate the festival.
The Osogbo economy benefits and the people are happier.

Cover your face in shame!
It was the presidents budget. If his VP is including a N9 billion budget for furniture etc then he was supposed to know. That he didn't know was a sign of his powerlessness not a valid excuse.

Sincere 9gerian: It is obvious that the president doesn't even know much about the N16billion Sambo's residence contract. For this same issue, the 'retardinhos' have attacked, abused and cursed GEJ. Do we really expect one man to know everything and be involved in everything? As far as I'm concerned, there are institutions and those institutions should do their work and where they fail, all attacks should be directed at them, not an 'omnipresent' president. In this case, where the contract sum appears too high, the senate committee should do their work(which they'r already doing), the budget office, ministry of office and other parties concerned in the project should also do their work. Where foul play is suspected, the law should take its course.
But I completely understand the retardinhos. It is always convenient for them to blame everything on an 'omnipresent' president so as to score cheap political points

Elueme: I just hope Sahara reporters don't commit suicide because of Maku. Just because Maku has successfully exposed the deceit called Sahara reporters, they have chosen to lose sleep for his sake. Well, I think the newspaper that reported that news got some facts wrong. An impeccable source, had reported on that evening of the crash that Maku wanted to board the ill fated chopper along Azzazi, Yakiwa, Umar Sanni and co but was compelled on by protocol to go ahead of the crashed chopper by joining another chopper which left before the crashed chopper. Whichever report is true, whether the one that crashed left before or after Maku's doesn't change the fact that he would have been in the crashed chopper and I rejoice with him as he thanks his stars and God most importantly. I hope Rudolf Okonkwo and his Sahara reporters cronies have failed one more time.

Sahara Reporters has done nothing by reporting what a source told them.

At least SR helped us to know that Maku left b4 the crashed copter. Maku didn't say that but that is what happened.

Arobam: This level of hatred against Maku by saharareporters really calls for concern. What business has SAHARA REPORTERS with whether Maku boarded before or after the crash.
The fundamental truth is that there was a crash and Maku, either before or after, was supposed to be in the helicopter but he did not.
What problems does Sahara have with that?

I think this Sahara guys are getting too disparate.

I was going to call Maku an Igno-rat but if u pay attention to Maku's original story and this story they do intersect where the names of the people were mentioned. There are 3 possibilities:

1. Someone is trying to cover up Maku's story - especially as he mentioned that Sani (the VP's aide) suddenly decided to "travel alone".

2. Maku confused the timing of the helicopter ride with the departure for "lunch".

3. Maku knowingly exaggerated the story.

I put lunch in quotes above becos those two departed for lunch and ended up in the same crash. Is it possible then that had Maku joined the lunch he would have ended up in the crash?

In any case they need to find out exactly what Maku knows about the last hours of those two eminent personalities and pursue the resulting leads. But who am I kidding?

PoliticsRe: The Truth About Fashola's Success by koruji(m): 5:14am On Dec 21, 2012
RETARDEDhuh

thelastPope: Big question for these ACN trolls on NL

If Fashola is such a big success in Lagos like their media want us to believe, why did ACN loose several LGAs in the last LGA election to PDP and ACN had to rig it?

SMH at the level of propaganda from these peeps!

If you want to be sincere, then you have to talk in specifics, not this generalised successes you lot talk about.

What has he achieved in:

Education: Lagos schools are worse of today than they were 10 years ago. Dilapidated structures everywhere with not enough teachers and it isnt even free because the students still pay all sorts of fees. In Lagos, it is only the very poor who cant afford private schools that send their children to government schools. In Benin city, which is ironically another ACN state and in which the governor has done less time than Fashola, It is the other way around. People are widthdrawing their children from private schools and sending them to public schools because the public schools are great. Fashola is the only governor in Nigeria and in the history of Nigeria as far as I can recall, that has increased schools fees by over 1000%. He increased LASU school fees from 25k to 250k and as much as 300k for some courses. This is not even imaginable. It is as diabolical it gets. Then when the students protests, he sends in bruttal policemen to chase them away. Many have had to drop out from school because they cant afford it. This is the same guy who said the FG was too high handed by sending the army to Ojota

Health Care: This one is just humorous. Fashola and ACN in 13 years havent built one new hospital for Lagos. Still the old LUTH and general hospital. No change. Instead, they are praising him for renovating small 30 by 30 maternity centers. centers that where even renovated by MTN foundation, with their sign post conspiciously displayed. His only achievement here was to sack 788 doctors in one day. That is one of the worst administrative blunders in the history of Nigeria. I laughed when I read a previous post that he is a great administrator! Great administrator? Someone whose solution to doctors strike was to sack the whole doctors in the state? Ha! Is that how he will rule Nigeria? The presidential guard will pursue him back to Lagos! lol! If he cannot manage such crisis in one state of Nigeria, how will he manage Nigeria? Those who call GEJ clueless forget that he has continued to manage crisis after crisis and continues to pull everyone along. Love him or hate him, he has continued to hold everything together from North to south.

Roads: Its about six years now and Fashola cannot point to one major new road built in Lagos. I am still wondering where Lagos allocations go. It is funny that every time some credit is giving to Lagos in terms of facility and infrastructure, some of these ACN peeps quickly shout "Fashola is working" as if the facilities are built by Fashola. Lagos has become a business city powered fully by the private sector. All the infrastructures we enjoy in Lagos are built by the private sector, not Fashola. From the cinemas to shoprite to the various entertainment centers et al. I dont understand how that is Fashola working. Propaganda of course. After adding extra lanes to Lekki, he introduced toll gates to a residential area. I mean, that is a first again in Nigeria. Toll gates in a residential area? Some people go from Lekki area to main VI like 5 times daily and back and they have to pay toll fees each time they pass the road. And when the residents protest peacefully, the response, just like the LASU one, is a bruttal assault by his thugs in alliance with the police. He attacked hapless old men on a peaceful protest, yet some pumpkin heads here want us to believe he is a sane and civil guy. If it was GEJ that bruttalized people like that, these same political and tribal jingoist would not let us hear word on NL! Ridiculous to say the least!

Water ways: This is just a funny one. Promises and more promises right from Tinubu's time. Nothing has even left the ground. Total failure here. Nothing to talk about

Transportation: This to me should have been his biggest achievement, but the ban of Okada has rubbushed it. How? The ban of okada has shown that the BRT project is a failure. Totally inadequate. Doesnt even come close to solving half the problem of Lagos transportation. Now, people are trekking like real villagers that Fashola has turned them into and they are swearing for him while they trek. Lagos is now total chaos. The traffic has escalated like times 4. What Okada ban was supposed to achieve, has turn into a total disaster. 3 to 5 hours now to go from Ikeja to VI or back, gauranteed! The traffic is alraming now! No transport on the road. People wait at the busstop for 2,3 hours trying to get a bus or keke. That is the legacy of a failed administrator who knows nothing of how to manage a metropolitan city. He thinks you can just wave a magic wand and scare everyone into submission. And some propaganda crew here wants us to believe he can manage Nigeria. He tops it up with the enactment of the Lagos traffic law 2012. A draconian law that looks like it was written by arrogant baby lawyers. I have read and re-read the law and it makes for a fine comic relief. many of the laws there will not stand a challenge in court. They are as draconian as it gets and many parts of that law contradicts the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. The late Gani would have made a piece meal of it!

Public Amenities: Another big zero! Lagos, after 13 years of ACN rule, still doesnt have public water. I mean in 2012, you cannot open your tap and get clean portable water. You cannot even get unclean water, with all the water in Lagos. A city where you dig only 5 feet in some places and hit water, you cannot get pipe borne water in your house. Yet the state government collects all sorts of taxes like there is no tomorrow. I dont know how a government that cannot even provide something as basic as public water is considered fit to rule Nigeria. Only sychophants would endorse that!

After 13 years of ACN rule, Lagos still reminds me of the movie, slum dog millionaire! That movie should have been shot in Lagos. Would really fit! Fahosla is like a doctor who rubs skin lotion on a sore and closes his eye lid tightly, believing that when he opens his eyes, the sore would have been completely gone. That is what he did in places like Oshodi. He brought in bulldozers and task force agberos and chased everyone away and celebrated the clearing and cleaning of Oshodi. But he forgot that the dirt in Oshodi were created by a depraved and down trodden masses. So by clearing the dirt and not alleviating the plight of the depraved masses, he only rubbed body lotion over a bad sore. Now Oshodi is fast becoming like it was before. And several more Oshodis are springing up. Like Egbeda, Ketu, Ikorodu, Ojodu Berger and many more are becoming the new Oshodi because the problem was never solved. It just got replicated! Please if you want to talk about Fashola's achievements, talk specifics and we would take you serious. as for specifics, they are not impressive. They are all wash! Propaganda at its best. The strategy is simple. Do a project with 1 million naira and promote it with 100 million naira. Fashola will be a very good music artist manager in Nigeria!

bilms: I have observed that the media propaganda of the Lagos State Governor is still enjoying much relevance, especially on nairaland despite clear failure of his administration.

Many things i read about Fashola on nairaland speak contrary of the reality on ground,a little survey among the masses in your area would speak for itself.

Just within the last two weeks, the Fashola for presidency thing has made it to the front page God knows how many times.

So i ask, what exactly has foshala done to deserve a presidency?

Is it the increment of The Lagos State University fee from 25,000 to 250,000 that made him worth the presidency?
Is it the crazy Lekki toll gate fee, which when protested ordered the protesters crushed?
Is it the promise of demolishing Katangwa market, denying over 30,000 people means of livelihood with a promise of not providing any alternative?
Is it the demolishing and killing of some residence of Makoko Community?
Is it the Ban of Okada without any meaningful steps toward re engagements of the citizens?

Many crazy things just to mention but few.

What exactly has he done to deserve this inhuman promotion? A government of oppression on the masses and the less privileged.

A government of under developing the people in the name of developing the state. A government with no consideration for human welfarism.

PoliticsNAVY CHOPPER CRASH: We Escaped Death By Whiskers – Gowon, Maku by koruji(op): 2:37am On Dec 20, 2012
Two things about the article below:

First:
Nobody takes Nigeria and Nigerians seriously - not even those who claim they will die for her "unity". Why?
Because, so-called Gen. Gowon already concluded: "It was an accident — Gowon".
This the man that the age of around 30 was Head of State, still at almost 80 cannot be wise about national happenings like this?

Second:
Labaran Maku made this statement below: "When we met in Bayelsa, it was a twist of fate that we did not board the same day because on that day, the Special Adviser to the Vice President, Sani Umar and myself and Timi Alaibe, we were supposed to travel together with the two of them back to Port Harcourt. Somehow just before we could take off from the funeral arena, Sani backed out and decided to travel alone".
This statement contain a very important nugget of information that needs to be pursued by investigators. I am not ready to draw any conclusions without direct evidence but keeping in mind that Yakowa was deputy to the Vice President when he was governor of Kaduna this is an important lead that must be followed to its end.

*Service chiefs, IG pay condolence visit to Azazi’s widow
*We are yet to be officially informed, Co-pilot’s family
By Luka Binniyat & Evelyn Usman
KAFANCHAN – Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd) and Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, yesterday, relived events preceding the take off of the ill-fated Navy helicopter that crashed last Saturday in Bayelsa State, killing former Kaduna State Governor, Mr Patrick Yakowa and former National Security Adviser, General Andrew Azazi and four others. They said they escaped death by the whiskers as they were scheduled to board the ill-fated helicopter.

General Gowon who spoke in Kafanchan, 200km, south of Kaduna town, during a Special Service Session to mark the 50th birthday of Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, of Throneroom Ministry, insisted that the incident was a mere accident, contrary to insinuations that it was planned to eliminate some people.

Meanwhile, Kagoma village, about 230km, South of Kaduna town, in Jema’a Local Government Area, where Yakowa was born, and would be buried today, is set to receive an unprecedented number of visitors, including President Jonathan Goodluck.

General Gowon in his speech recalled how he missed the tragic flight in the Naval Helicopter last Saturday.

Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon and Information Minister, Labaran Maku
Gowon said: “As we were with the aide of the President to pay our condolence, they were arranging a Navy Helicopter to take us to Yenagoa (with Yakowa). But, another Helicopter was arranged for me and five others. And that was it.

It was an accident — Gowon

“So when I heard about this accident, it really pained me. And I want to say, well, you can never tell with some of these things. It was an accident. Don’t read any meaning to it. Don’t say that it is planned to get rid of some people or something like that.

“It was an accident, yes it was an accident. There was this young Pilot of the Helicopter, who came to me after another helicopter was found for us, and he said to me, ‘sir, but I was to take you to Yenagoa, as part of my duty today’. And I said to him, ‘don’t worry, there will be another time. I really hope I will have the pleasure of flying with you again.

“These were nice innocent people. Something, probably mechanical, went wrong to have caused the accident. So it was not a plan to get rid of the Governor for whatever reason people want to guess.

“When, last Sunday, I saw the Governor (Ramalan Yero), who was newly sworn, I said , ‘I hope you will continue with the good work that your late governor was doing. It was the two of you that were doing the work. You were working to bring peace to Kaduna State. I hope you will do something about this madness alluded to Boko Haram, which, unfortunately is being alluded to Muslims

“If Boko Haram are Muslims, then they are not the Muslims that I have worked with over the years. So don’t just blame Muslims for the violence, but that particular group that none of us understands.”

How I missed the flight —Maku

In his own narration of how he narrowly missed getting on the helicopter that crashed, Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku during a special Federal Executive Council meeting in honour of those who died during the crash, said:

“When we arrived, the late Governor of Kaduna State, Mr. Patrick Yakowa and Gen. Andrew Azazi were already seated. The two of them were full of life, we greeted, we embraced and later we went for the funeral. unknown to us, it was to be the last moment we would have with these two distinguished sons of Nigeria.

“Council members would recall that General Azazi served in this chambers with us when he was National Security Adviser. He also rose in the distinguished career of this nation to the rank of a full Four Star General. He gallantly served as the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, then he was invited by Mr. President to help this nation overcome one of the most serious security challenges since the end of the civil war in 1970.

“He served his nation with distinction, he served to the best of his ability, he was able to manage the situation he found himself in until the time came for him to have relief and be replaced by another Nigerian to continue with the efforts by Mr. President to give this nation peace.

“Governor Patrick Yakowa served and had a distinguished career in the Civil Service and rose to the position of Permanent Secretary in the Civil Service of the Federation.

“All the time he was Deputy Governor in Kaduna State, he showed courage, humility, patience and was a man of peace and even as Governor, he was such a good man.

“When we met in Bayelsa, it was a twist of fate that we did not board the same day because on that day, the Special Adviser to the Vice President, Sani Umar and myself and Timi Alaibe, we were supposed to travel together with the two of them back to Port Harcourt. Somehow just before we could take off from the funeral arena, Sani backed out and decided to travel alone, I stood up and was going with them but by some involuntary action, I returned to my seat, I said I would wait for a moment, that was simply the twist of fate that kept us alive. We must give glory to God. I tell his story because nobody goes before his time, we must give God the glory for what has happened. Their destiny was that day and that is what God has done.

“We commit the souls of the gentlemen who died in the ill-fated crash to Almighty God and he will grant the country mercy,” he said.

Meanwhile, parents of Lieutenant Adeyemi Sowole, the co-pilot of the ill-fated Navy helicopter that crashed last Saturday in Bayelsa State killing former Kaduna State Governor, Mr Patrick Yakowa and former National Security Adviser, General Andrew Azazi and three others lamented, yesterday, that five days after the incident that killed their son, they were yet to be officially informed of their son’s death.

Both the father and mother of the late co-pilot, who spoke at their Iyana-Ipaja home as sympathizers, majority of whom were relatives and family friends thronged their residence to console them, described their son’s death as one of the unfortunate things that has happened to them in their life time. It was obvious they were yet to come to terms with the reality of their son’s demise.

Sitting on a sofa and nodding at the words of consolation from sympathizers, the bereaved mother, Mrs Olufunke Sowole, said her last conversation with the late Adeyemi was a promise from him that he would be back soon.

Speaking in Yoruba dialect, she said: “ That conversation was on Friday evening. He called me by 5pm from Warri and told me they would be back to Lagos on Saturday evening. But rather, it was news of his death I heard.

“My son used to go for at least 15 trips every three weeks. And when he arrived at his destination, he would always call to inform me. I insisted he called me so that my mind would be at rest. As usual, he called to inform me that they were conveying some dignitaries and said they had conveyed them for about 15 times so far.

“We have gone through so many things to ensure our children were well to do. But I can not start relating that now. The late Femi also suffered to get to where he was. He started by attending the National Defence Academy (NDA) for five years and when he passed out, he was posted to a ship in Lagos.

“He later attended an Aviation school where he studied his kitty as a pilot for four years. Since he started flying, he had never been involved in an accident and I have never ceased to pray for him and his siblings.

He only arrived from Italy last year where he had gone for a course. And when he returned, he got married. He loved his job so much that whenever he came back from any trip, he would share his experience with us. I was so fond of him”, she stated.

At this juncture, she kept quiet, shook her head and tried not to betray her emotion. As expected, sympathizers consoled her again.

She continued: “He also used to pilot a ship from the Apapa jetty to the high seas. He did that for about three years”.

Again, she kept quiet . And the expression from her face changed from that of sorrow to anger. She continued in a mixture of anger and sorrowful tone. “But you can imagine how bad is it when his name was not even mentioned when he died. They only mentioned the name of two prominent persons and left out his and the senior pilot’s. Is that fair?

At this juncture, her husband, Prince Solomon Sowole, who seemed more composed took over. “We are yet to be officially informed about our son’s death. And this was someone that was sent on an official assignment. We only got to hear about his demise from the media.

We are being treated as if our son was a nobody, or as if he fell from heaven. No! He didn’t fall from heaven. He had parents who should be treated the way they ought to. Today(yesterday) makes it the fifth day the incident happened and not even the the Navy he worked for, has deemed it right to come to inform us. Aye mi…o”, he exclaimed in Yoruba.

“We have culture in this part of the world which must be respected. I am a Yoruba man, who believes things should be done the right way. Let them come and tell me that my son is dead first, that is what we want. Then, we will know what next to do”, he said.

The family’s claim is not true —CDS

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim, yesterday in Lagos, however described as untrue claims by family of Lt Adeyemi Sowole, that their son was not accorded same treatment as other dignities in the plane.

Rather, the CDS said the Military, particularly the Defense Headquarters had given necessary support to the family.

This is just as there were indications that foreign hands could be invited to unravel the mystery surrounding the crashed helicopter.

Ibrahim, countered the claim while speaking with journalists, during a condolence visit at the Ikoyi abode of former National Security Adviser, late General Andrew Azazi, in the company of other Service Chiefs comprising the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Azubuike Ihejirika; the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Alex Benden and the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar.

According to him, “ the Naval headquarters has responded to that. They have placed adverts and we have given them what ever support that is needed. We have been in touch with the family of the co-pilot. The Defense headquarters in particular is posting adverts here and there. And we have done whatever we feel we owe them. We are already pained as it is”, he stated
Describing the late Azazi as a brilliant man who would be missed by all, the CDS said: “ All of us have special relationship with him and we will miss him a lot. That is the least I can say.

He was a highly professional man who represented us in very many areas so admirably. Even when he was the NSA, he did the job in a way as if it was an extension of the same institution we all shared. To that extent, it was so simple and a large dose of his personality and good nature helped him deliver in so many grounds. We will miss his counseling and ready smile no matter the situation.

“ He presided over the national security of this country when we were most challenged. We can not but acknowledge the role he played while that lasted. And I am quite sure he was a very fulfilled man to the extent possible “.

Asked how far investigation into the cause of the crash had gone, the CDS assured that that those nominated to carry out the investigation were competent hands.

“We have every reason to believe that we have all the expertise to look into the bone and marrow of the issue and advise the nation about the correct position of things.”

I Have No Hand In Helicopter Crash – Dasuki…Commiserates With Azazi, Yakowa Families

TheNational Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki, Rtd, has described as blatant falsehood some media reports indicating that he was involved in the helicopter crash that killed the Governor of Kaduna State, Mr. Patrick Yakowa, the former National Security Adviser, General Andrew Owoeye Azazi.

According to the NSA in a statement, he said, “We wish to state that the NSA, Mr Sambo Dasuki was not part of that flight that crashed because he has been out of the country on national assignment.”

The NSA, Mr. Dasuki has expressed his deep condolences to the family of his immediate predecessor, Gen. Andrew Owoeye Azazi and that of the former governor of Kaduna state, Patrick Yakowa who lost their lives along with their aides in an helicopter crash in Bayelsa state last weekend.

The statement from the office of the NSA said Mr Dasuki had already called and spoken with Mrs Alero Azazi over the death of her husband and his friend/regular 12 course mate.

Mogidi: I had a text message saying Fashola joked with some reporters saying:

"When Tinubu was governor, Lagosians weren't having sexx because he was Zap.ing them everyday".

Though Fashola has admitted to screwing Lagosians once in a while, I want to find link or video to the above statement.
I want to authenticate this statement if you have any link to it please share it.

NB
I actually didn't believe this story until I remember "Eko Ile" gets massive e.r.ection when Tinubu is the topic of discussion.

PoliticsBayelsa Crash - NDLF Blasts Navy by koruji(op): 2:48am On Dec 19, 2012
Here is a different take on this weekend's sad saga.
I think the implications of NDLF's point is even more fundamental than corruption.
If governmental officials pay their way - food, transporation and the like when engaging in private matters.
They are likely to be less vulnerable to "physical and political accidents".
Except of course in Nigeria where only the politician and the connected get the best services on the people's dime.
Nevertheless, this an interesting take that has long-term implications for a nation that really wants to be a nation.

NDLF Blasts Nigerian Navy, Says Presidential Aide Douglas Should Be Made To Replace Crashed Helicopter

Remains of crashed Agusta 109E Nigerian Navy helicopter

The Nigeria Democratic Liberty Forum (NDLF) has described as a “disgrace” the conduct of government officials in failing to distinguish between official duties and private events.

In a statement issued today, the group said it was appalled by the crass display of impunity by the Goodluck Jonathan administration in the deployment of federal government's military assets for private and social events to the extent that military equipment has become a perk of office.

“The prior use of similar chopper by President Goodluck Jonathan during the burial of his brother in Otueke and the use of a Naval chopper by Presidential aide-Mr Oronto Douglas for his father's burial which resulted in the loss of the Nigerian Navy helicopter is reprehensible,” NDLF said.

It called on President Jonathan to reimburse the Nigerian military at charter cost for the use of its air assets for the burial of his brother and to desist from such use from now on.

In the case of presidential adviser Oronto Douglas, NDLF said he should be compelled to replace the lost helicopter or pay the insurance premiums of the helicopter to date if the Nigerian government bothered to insure the equipment in the first place.

“The Nigerian President should note that President Barack Obama would not use military equipments for private social functions let alone his aide,” NDLF sneered.

It said of the American practice: “While the Nigerian President uses the Presidential jet unrestricted, the United States President reimburses the government for part of the cost of the use of Air Force One, the Presidential aircraft (not a military aircraft) for time clocked in flying to political events.
“That shows how the peoples' business should be conducted.”

Funny,Desola.
Noted - just that sometimes even mad people have to be put on notice.
As our elders would say: "Aja to nsinwin a mo ju olowo e".

Desola: you sef fall my hand.
It took you this long to realise that you were in the boxing ring with a mad man?
Abeg no blame anybody if they can't tell the mad man from the sane one o because na you choose to enter ring with am.
Just grab a can of coke with kuli-kuli and read and laugh out heartily at the display. As you can see, the circus acts are coming in and it therefore promises to be a fantastic show.
When you pay to watch an act, you don't join it in the performance, you watch and laugh to your heart's content and should you happen to have a bone of kfc chicken lying around somewhere, you throw it at the creature. That is how to watch a dirty show.
Get with the programe, bruv!
You have a bounty on their heads, remember? Now, demand it! wink
PoliticsRe: Bayelsa Crash Must Be Thoroughly Investigated by koruji(op): 11:52pm On Dec 16, 2012
I have seen the story mentioned below.
However, I am afraid that is not the same as a thorough investigation.
I am talking forensics of the helicopter, crash site and the history of all involved (including helicopter) days and weeks before this incident.
We need real experts here- the FBI -they will be on ground pronto if invited.

Sure. I have left him to his silliness. I do not have time to response to people to diatribes like this.
It was necessary to let him know that THERE WILL be consequences if any Yoruba leader is harmed by his tree-biting cohorts.
