It was a smooth pregnancy and I was looking forward to meeting my Son.
If only I knew what awaited me....

On that fateful day I picked up my daughter from school and headed to the hospital for regular antenatal check up.
We were 35weeks gone and expecting Bobo at least in 2-3weeks time

The nurses checked my BP and it was very high at one fifty something.

We decided to wait after sometime to check again and I went in to see the doctor who said I was fine and we were even gisting , my urine sample was taken and he prescribed BP drugs to take at home and to check back after 24hrs.

While waiting for the drugs from the pharmacy one of the nurses went to see the doctor and they said I couldn't go home
Omoh!!!

They checked the bp again and
this time it was higher at 178/108
a few mins later it Rose to 200/110

it was so surreal, I've never had such numbers in my life

I was admitted and they said I had to do am emergency CS

My mind was All over the place
how can a smooth preg journey just change within mins.

I wasn't even admitted for malaria this time around compared to my first pregnancy


I was preped for surgery and my baby was brought out some mins past 9pm.

We were in the hospital for 7 days and discharged on the 8th

My eyes saw shege.

is it the feeling of having a catheter in
or the tingling of my legs after having the anesthetic injection on my spine
or even the pull and tugging I felt during surgery while the surgeon was pulling him out.
The healing process nko , the pain and no eating of food�

Baby was also placed under the Blue light due to jaundice �

In all I'm grateful to God that we came out alive and well
My BP later came down
although its still on the elevated side (121-139)

I'm being tapered off the meds gradually.

I look forward to stopping the drugs permanently as I've started making some lifestyle changes e.g
reduced salt intake, intermittent fasting, more veggies and fruits and exercise

Thank God I was in the hospital that day because I didn't feel anything to signify a problem, no headache, nothing...

Thank God for the nurse that insisted I shouldn't be sent home
Thank God for my amazingly calm doctor who assured me it was going to be fine

Oh so that's the name, my baby had it n I used small tooth brush to gently brush the white scales off after applying little oil.

Mamas, please would you agree to me getting gripe water for my baby of 3weeks. He cries at night cos of stomach pains. He grunts wen he wants to fart or poo. I was advised to get it but I need your opinions. Thanks.

My mum made me buy it but I refused to give when i saw alchohol on the pack, plus My matron says the grunting is normal and will persist till baby is 3months. Check thread for babies for reviews tho.

Im not a good story teller but it wont be fair to learn from other people's experience and not tell mine , so help me manage it .

My pregnancy came as a sweet surprise as we had been trying and I got pregnant 7months after our wedding.

The journey started out easy until the third trimester that i started having repeated malaria and hospital admission wahala up the point my hospital thought it was covid. I had to change my hospital after the terrible experience with the nurses and doctors.

I had always prayed not to exceed my EDD and On the 10th of this month (37wks and 2days) after patrolling my stairs up and down due to electrical installations in my house I started having contractions, Oga and I got to the hospital by 10am or so and the matron checked and said i was just 1cm dilated and asked I started walking up and down and to climb the stairs.

Around noon when the contractions were reducing she inserted a tablet and more painful contractions started , I would start praying and start crying. my husband was there throughout and I kukuma did not let him leave when the nurses asked him to.

Around 2pm the pains were so unbearable and becos of the BS I read here I lied and started shouting that I wanted to poopoo so they could just come.
The matron then gave me drip and oxytocin injection. The pain increased again and then I felt like pooing, the nurses confirmed they could see my madams head, I was asked to hold my legs, look at my stomach and start pushing. With all the push I did madam matron started shouting that I wasn't pushing enough , that's how she gave me a little tear. I pushed again and felt my baby come out at exactly 3pm, the nurse shouted that the cord was round her neck and she was distressed. They rubbed her back, spanked her and she cried out, She was then cleaned and given to her joyful daddy who was happy she came looking like him .

Its been 11 days after childbirth and I'm loving every moment with my little angel. The episotomy healed after 7days and I started sitting properly although I Neva gather liver to look the gagaina.
My bump is about 70%gone and I'm still trying to get used to the night vigil feeding as we struggled with latching for sometime.

I just look at her and remember all the nights I would stand up to pray for a baby. I'm grateful for this gift.

Thank u, I was discharged today . I'm feeling better already. D doctors and nurses in my new hospital have plenty sense and are so nice. I did my first antenatal with them and confirmed baby is also fine.

Good morning able mamas, please kindly permit me to rant. I was at the hospital (Orile-Agege General Hospital) this morning for my ANC as early as 5:45 am because of the crowd so that I can be attended to on time. At exactly 8:00am, someone came to send all of us home and said we should only come to the hospital when our water breaks or we see blood. Not a single doctor available to attend to us. So many of us are due already. As at last week wednesday, the doctor that attended to me even told me I might give birth before today yet we were all sent back. Someone said she has even passed 40 weeks and she was also sent home. The most shocking is a lady who came for elective CS and was also turned back that they are not doing elective CS for now. She left almost crying and said she does not even know where to go to or which hospital will accept her today. I feel so concerned for her as I type. As for me, I am 38 weeks and 4 days already. What if I fall into labour and there is no water or blood which is the only requirement given to come to the hospital. To also think that I already paid more than 80 percent of my hospital bill at this general hospital. My question now is if it is possible to get a good private hospital that will accept someone at this stage of pregnancy? If yes, can you please recommend?

Had a similar case at Subol, Idimu road. They were the ones that gave me a drug that triggered malaria only for me to return with high temp and the nurse was rude and asking who let u come inside.
I was isolated outside since they said they cant let me enter.
a doctor came n we moved to a makeshift cubicle, he prescribed quinine , 3 times a day, but at the collection point , pharmacist said madam hope ure not pregnant. That was wen I knew I was in soup. I jejely left and went to a private hospital 3 buildings to my house and I have been in admission since Monday. Feeling better now tho. But I'm never going back there.

I had it but not steady. Just for sometime especially when I sit for long. If yours is steady you may visit the hospital right away to confirm it's okay

I'm so bloated/constipated after eating and looking like I'm 5 months gone. I also still have nausea especially when brushing my teeth, so I always have chopchop like garden egg, crackers,potato chips close by.

Dear Mamas, I have been a silent follower of this thread and i appreciate everyone who makes a contribution. I pray this year our we will carry our bundle of joy. God is still in the business of doing miracles.

I have a question please mamas, my bestie has been TTC for years. She had a still birth at 7 months in 2015 and since then has not gotten pregnant. She ovulates every month after tracking for three months, though there are no signs no show ovulation, Hsg shows both tubes are patent, husband's sperm is fine but since 2015, no show.

She will be 34 next year. Please time is not on her side. What do you suggest as she's tired already. Please find attached a recent hormonal profile. She has taken omega 369, now she recently started taking folic acid and B6.

There are no infection or anything of such.

Please mamas, ur contributions will be greatly appreciated.

Is her period regular? Ovulation might be occuring at different cycle days per month. I ovulated on day 11 the month i took in , unlike the normal 14 and 15th I read online. Follicular tracking helped me and God did the rest. She can try it too

WIDD was Follicular tracking to know precisely when I was going to ovulate

My period have mostly been irregular and
We have been trying after our wedding earlier this year .
Also I have been taking folic acid for some time
I pray everyone gets their early Christmas gift too
