He scared Liverpool central defenders. The two scenarios under contention didn’t fall on his lap just like that, give him credit at least for his strength, his intelligence, quick reactions in tackling and nicking the ball off Liverpool central defenders cleanly without foul.

You can argue for the first that maybe he should’ve passed to Yilmuz but the second, I won’t criticise him. He was about to pull the trigger when he was questionably put off the ball by Szoboszlai.

I’m not sure if I watched the same match as the person who rated these players. The individual who rated them was highly generous with the marks.

Ariehi shouldn’t get up to 5, he was very poor as a striker. He is young, full of energy but clueless. His brain and legs are not in sync. If he was a lot calmer, he would’ve scored at least two goals. He was one of the worst players in that team.
Goalkeeper’s communication with the defenders were poor otherwise they wouldn’t have conceded the second goal.
What couldn’t be said about the central defenders!! Akinyele especially couldn’t jump. Most times he gets out jumped and displaced off an aerial ball by a shorter Saudi players. He was so awkward and nervous that he sometimes intercepts the ball with his face, tummy etc.

Nigeria was simply lucky. Saudi players controlled and passed the ball better, played better as a unit. Nigeria had aggression and energy, with cohesion and intelligence, Nigeria would’ve beaten Norway and Saudi comfortably.

Only one or two players deserved the 7 rating.
I’ll rate these keeper 5, Akinyele 4, Daga 5.5. Bameyi 6.5 simply because of the penalty conversion, Ochoche 7, he worked hard and scored an intelligent goal, Okoro 7…strong, defended well, good positioning and a lot more intelligent than his mates, Maigana could be the joker in the team, talented but unpolished. A good manager would get to the semifinals with these boys…Zubair isn’t that manager. This set of under 20 look more like Korope vs Okada boys in a Sunday league.

Arierhi shouldn’t be in that team.

That no 9 is just too awkward. He needs to calm down and play football. Most times he runs a bit too fast, when he does that, his ball control and coordination fail him.

Maigana plays like Chukwueze, he can be a success in the tournament if he can get his acts together. He is fast, can dribble and can shoot but he seem not to know when to release the ball or shoot. He can be indecisive.

Should a yoruba resident in Anambra travel to Ondo or Lagos to protest against Soludo’s governance? Should an Igbo man living in Oyo travel to Imo to protest against Makinde’s govt?
