gypsey:You are right, bro. But we all know that when this refinary starts running, it will not only create jobs but also have enormous impact on Forex. Have you ever considered what would have been our fate in terms of forex and employment if not for Dangote's investsment, especially in the cement industry? The economy would have been far worse than it is today. We need more entrepreneurs like him notwithstanding their interests as long as they are symbiotic |
It is common knowledge that old age has its own drawbacks such as low productivity, frailty, senility etc. Even the Bible recognises this fact when in Ecclesiastes 12:1 it says: "remember your creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come, and the years approach when you will say, 'I find no pleasure in them'". While in the civil service, and even in the judiciary, nigerian lawmakers have taken congnizance of this fact and placed various age limits which compel the retirement of individuals to ensure the quality of service delivery is up to speed, no such provision has so far been made for political offices such as that of the president, governors and legislators? Considering how sensitive and demanding these political offices are, is there really any justification for the absence of such statutory restriction? |
Sad! May God grant his soul eternal rest |
There are better ways they could have celebrated the president's return |
May God continue to grant the soul of this selfless lady and that of every other hero that mitigated the spread of the virus in Nigeria eternal rest. We can't thank you and your colleagues enough, ma |
The evils that men do... |
Thumbs up, Dangote! 10 of your kind in Nigeria are enough to take us to the promised land. Politicians have failed woefully! They should bury their heads in shame! |
May God grant him good health |
Good news! Hopefully there won't be a relapse this time |
God should grant him speedy recovery so that he could come home to complete his tenure |
Our collective shame! |
Bad news everywhere! What could have caused his death? |
This is balderdash! The PPRO is very much aware of the fact that all the steps he outlined have no pragmatic value. If the Nigeria Police detests the tag of corruption then it should do the needful by purging itself of all corrupt elements |
Even if she must eat rats must she do so without plucking off the furs? |

Political exigency demands that Nigeria should be restructured, at least to give everyone a sense of belonging. The calls for secession coming almost all parts of the country is a fallout of the fact that some sections of the country rightly or wrongly feel they are being shortchanged by other sections. It is said that the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Assuming APC didn't win in 2015 it would have been thought that they would have performed wonders. Likewise, if the demand for restructuring, which is an alternative to secession, is waved aside, the uprising may get to a level (and we are almost there) which the govt won't be able to contain. Let's act now! |
This account is a classic example of the popular saying that all that glitters is not gold. This is one of the evils of conservatism which makes the individual to lead a fake life in order to please the society. If you are in an abusive relationship please do the needful by opting out if the other party is unrepentant before the unthinkable happens. Your life is yours and yours alone. The society will subsist even if you die. May God grant her soul and that of the poor baby eternal rest. |
If what you said is true, then the logical conclusion is that the wife and her family have no honour. The husband urgently needs to be bold and learn how not to grant frivolous requests otherwise he would be financially wrecked and possibly sent to his grave much earlier than he thinks. I guess the wife and her family won't hesitate to shop for a replacement when that happens. Even if he is Dangote, it is still wrong for him to continue granting all their requests since he will be encouraging laziness! |

This is what happens when there is no regard for safety. Unfortunately, it has cost this little one his life. May God grant his innocent soul eternal rest |
TINALETC3:Honestly, I doubt if the government will go after him if he enters Nigeria. It has learnt from the error it made by arresting Nnamdi Kanu. For me, the government is currently in a state of dilemma on how to handle this class of persons calling for secession and issuing quit notice here and there. It's a pity that the govt brought this upon itself; it shot itself in the foot through years of ungodly and disastrous outing in governance accompanied by mindless looting to the total detriment of the masses so much so that many disenchanted citizens who have been pushed to the wall now celebrate those, who ordinarily should be cooling off behind bars for treason in sane climes, as heroes. The best way for govt to handle this is to urgently convince the populace that it is pro-masses through people oriented policies and projects. It must act urgently because Nigeria is on the precipice of disintegration! |
donsteady:My thougths exactly, bro! |
Anyone chiding the writer is clearly living in self-denial. He only said an overwhelming majority of nigerians are corrupt and not all nigerians. It is time for us to admit the truth: 8 in 10 nigerians have corrupt and criminal tendencies and the earlier we change our ways the better for all of us |
Wow, these figures are massive! This may be a true reflection of the level of lack in the land. The state government may wish to consider bailing them out after which proper mechanism should be put in place to avoid this kind of situation |

Does he want us to believe that Femi Adesina is no more a reliable authority in such issues? |
One of the best decisons taken so far. The investigation should be diligent and seen to its logical conclusion |
Thumbs up, Op |
chuks4ebuks:Yes, UNIBEN accepts a second class degree in Chemistry (Upper or Lower) provided you possess the UTME requirements which are Five O' level credit passes in English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry in WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO/SSCE or any other recognized equivalent at not more that two sittings. Cut off mark is flexible since it is determined by the level of performance by candidates in the Post DE test though it is usually not below 50. Since your course is a very competitive one, a very high score will certainly increase your chance of getting admission |
Nigerians! We just cease every opportunity to rain insults on people. I see nothing wrong in the governor identifying with the kids since the act of sharing cheese balls does not negate other programmes that will ensure their welfare and future are protected. The fact that the children know his nickname indicates that he is popular and he is only reciprocating |
