Hello, I wish you a very good morning and a happier new year.
From your narrative, it's so unfortunate that I can't offer any solution; but I can give a detailed report of what might have got wrong.
*The drugs you use to treat your typhoid could have depleted your Ostman fat pad.
*The result of which led to Patulous Eustachian tube
*With Patulous Eustachian tube, gone the ability to equalise air-pressure in your middle ears hence the distortions in sounds, autophony, hyperacusis etc!
Please Note: Without actual tympanometry, all these are wild guesses!
However if you experience rapid weight loss during those ordeal, try to measure up again.
Thanks for this detailed response.

I already aligned with your thought, presently using a device courtesy of sir loffyloffy. The device has been so helpful in terms of sleeping, I rarely have sleepless nights nowadays. But the noise is still there.

I'm not doing anything again apart from that device until I see a doctor which i plan it to happen soon.

When I took the drugs, I was up and working, grinding iron as if my life depends on it.

Stupid me.
You can't blame yourself bro.

My own started right inside my ward in a teaching hospital. Do you know what? The was hospital having a big gen at the back of my ward and till now, i normally hear the sound of that generator in my ears, i swear i'm going to sue that hospital when the right time comes

Baba or madam, I went to General Hospital yesterday, they gave me appointment day on the 8th of March 2024. So tell me....

Na God hands I dey now.
Sorry about your ordeal op.

This same kind of thing happened to me and i'm deaf now for close to 10yrs, i want to give you tips based on experience and not as a professional.

1. Borrow money or even kill yourself to follow up with a specialist now, you will not have the chance Later

2. Don't take drugs again except a doc who is experienced in ear problem recommend it

3. Don't visit a pastor and allow them to put annointin oil in your ears. You are warned

4. Avoid advice from people especially those who will instruct you to put onions, honey, garlic etc if you do, start learning sign language now.

5. Don't visit jack-of-all-trade doctors, they will compound your problem, seek solution from a doctor who specialise in ear treatment. E get why

Message me on the number on my profile lets relate soon pls.

I hear the drug is very strong and effective. Try it if you have the money.

How much can you get it at your location? I'm still interested to buy it myself but that 59k is too much for me at the moment

Lastly, about that onion and garlic thing, only try it if you know what you are doing or you will bring more harm to yourself.

I tried it and the result was not pleasant, first it will make you to have more sleepless time, i mean somebody like me find it hard to sleep, my sleeping is 4hrs highest and if i had a dream in the night and wake-up, that night is good as gone for me to sleep. That onion will make you to scratching your ears always, you will have this feeling like something like an ant is moving inside your ear always, this will make you uncomfortable always. Alsomy ears started producing this smelly white fluid when i use it, something i have never experience since my problem started. In addition, i also notice that the onions were making my problem to become worse, its not nice hearing heavy gunshots on your roof in the night.

The fact that this does not work for me is not enough to condemn it, you can try it out, i just stated my experience only.
HealthRe: TINNITUS: Cost of removing auditory nerves in Nigeria. by kpakpakpa(op): 10:50pm On Sep 19, 2023
Then i somehow discovered that when i'm riding a bike or sit on it, i will feel the noise reduce(lol, i will just hire a bike often and just be riding around but Tinubu come and spoil plans with petrol price increase, small distance or few hours of riding now is alot of money)

Also any noise like market square, parties, high radio volume or someone forcing himself to make me hear is a no for me. I'm good at reading lips so some will think that i can hear small and start shouting to make me understand them, if such sounds enter my ears, it will be as if a trumpet is blown right inside my ear and this will continue repeating on it own inside my ear for days. That is why i normally avoid people, even to greet sef i don't want.

So far the best thing that happened to me was the ear bud sir loffyloffy gave me.

It was a normal ear bud which the chemist put some songs in it(according to a relative, the sound was like breeze or when its rainin) it help me alot but i later discover that it was making me act abnormal, i mean some times it will make me have goose bumps like i'm afraid of something, and it will be making to shake my head abnormally like i'm going mad so i reduce its usage. But i do use it till now especially when the noise inside my head is becoming unbearable.

But in all, earbuds are useful

i visited two hospitals and due to lack of money, i decide to follow the traditional way. i nearly drink every root and leaves from that moment till now with the assurance from my village elders that i will be cured but nothing happened for the past months, i guess village people are not strong again.

only if i could have been patient and put more efforts to get those records, maybe i should have been better now but that is btw

I create this topic in april when my problem took a new dimension.

The love and concern everyone showed was amazing, thank you nairaland.

It happened that i did not have a phone again since that time, that is why i failed to to reply other mentions.

When this happened, i was asked for medical records but i fail to produce them reason that the hospital was not helping matters. I became angry and left them trying looking for a quick solution but here is me with no improvement till now.

Okay. 8 million is a lot.
When you said 1.5 I imagined the current price would be in the 2m range. So covering the surgery for you is out of the question for me.

If you can provide solid evidence as to the hospital, ordering physician, and prescription. I can cover the cost of the tests you already did and the earbud.

I can cover the preliminary tests for the surgery. But how do you size up 8 million If a trust can be set upand you can get 6.5million i pledge 1.5m at least.
Good evening sir.

I have been trying to come up with something tangible base on your request but it's very unfortunate that I'm still stuck on getting the needful.

Sir, if I may plead for just anything from what you pledge to assist, I believe I can make a significant way forward to get anything and everything needed. I should not be asking for a meagre amount after what you promised but truthfully, it's has been very tough for me.

That is why I'm posting this to suggest whatever you can afford to help as of now, you can do it through a third party. I mean the money should be giving to an escrow here or a trusted person, while I should be directed on what to do. I did not intend to touch 5kobo from whatever you sent, my own will be to meet the person one-on-one who will inturn pay for what is required so as to get all the needed information and history about my illness.

It's my fault that I didn't keep anything concerning this cuz I once zero my mind the time I was leaving to stay permanently in the village that I will not treat the ears again until this recent development.

I pray you should consider this. Also, I can travel to visit any hospital of your choice anywhere. Thank you and God bless you.

My hospital file from my illness to how the hearing loss+tinnitus happened and all the tests I carried out are with Benue state University teaching hospital makurdi. I still have the hospital card so I think locating my file will not be difficult.

The doctor that treated me last was not able to write a referal. He said i should go back to the teaching hospital where i can get such for necessary actions.
Pls house, i'm not begging for money, if you are around makurdi and can help me get the profs i needed to present my case formally for people to help me, pls come to my aid. According to my finding, 25k may do everything there including a medical report(I have my hospital card intact so it will not be difficult to locate my file) I will be glad if you help me.
God bless nairaland

How farhuh

Any way forward yet.
Good morning. There is no way forward. I ask the doctor that was treating for a report of what he did but he declined that i should go to the teaching hospital where everything started. His treatment did not help at all except the buds that i'm using.
I also made some traditional steps but still no improvement.

My only problem is how to get evidence to post here. I have my hospital card intact but the transport and what to spend there is what i'm currently working on.
Thank you for always checking on me.

Btw, i started trying what saladin said about onions yesterday too.

Op, there is a lead now.

I think it's time to open another thread, to solicit for help.

Little drops of water makes an ocean.
I don't know if the mods can allow that, but i will be the happiest person if that is allowed here.
Pls can you suggest a way on how to go about it?
Or i should just create a thread?
Contact the mods?
Or go full time begging on other threads?
I can do ANYTHING sister. i would have gone to twitter too but i'm with a small phone which can't access it. God help me

While taking the drugs, he gave me an injection yesterday and i slept(i was more than happy and thank him for making me to sleep for hours) but he said it was out of pity that he did it. He is not supposed to be giving me such injection so i should look for money and get the needed help.
Meanwhile, he suggested i should first go to the teaching hospital and get my medical file before i go for the tests.

Greetings siri
I visit a doctor and explained everything to him.
He put a solution in my ears(meth spirit i think) and later put olive oil. He then wrote some drugs to buy which i did for 11730naira.
I also ordered a ear bud which cost 16k according to the doctors instruction(he made me stand directely opposite to a high speed running fan and i noticed that i can hear the sound the fan was producing and kind of reduce the one inside my ear) the ears buds will arrive here tomorrow.
Then he said that i must go for magnetic resornance imagine and other tests in kaduna asap coz my condition is rare. According to him, the kind of surgery i need can not be done like that except the test required are carried by professionals. And the test will cost me from 150-250k before anyone can tell me what next.
About the surgery, he said i can do a local one here around 8million depending on the problem or i can spend more 25million to travel out which is highly recommended.

I can hear clearly but the sound in the here is something

They said it's 50/50 that I might not make it with the surgery

My is two disease vertigo and tinnatus

I feel weak all the time , I feel dizzy and I vomit always

The sickness is something else... I'm praying for healing

I just did a scan of 60,000 naira last two weeks to check the cause

I'm really tired even if I want to go for the surgery I don't have the money for it

I'm 26yrs
1. I don't see a need for surgery if u can hear clearly. My own is different, i have tinnutus+hearing loss+hyperacusis.
2. I learnt earlier that the dizziness is as a result of not having sleep, u know that sleeping is difficult for us.
3.where did you made the test?
Pls drop you digits let me reach out to you
