I'm also having vertigo and tinnitus

The cure is to have a lot of rest... I was told I will go for surgery but I declined it

God will heal us both
Amen. But why did you declined?
Can you hear speech and understand what is been said?

I want to thank the mods for giving my thread the needed publicity.
I thank all nairaland community for the support and contribution on that thread. There was no banter, discussion was issue based and the sanity on that thread was amazing, I can't remember a thread that I read recently that is so straight forward like that.
Me that was looking for a way is now confronted with many that I'm finding it difficult to choose from. Thank you nairaland

The suggestions were amazing and cool, I will highlight some here.

1.Looking for NGO'S
A nice idea to be frank. The links that were sent to me was also cool but most of those organization are based outside the country and it will take time for them to reply. And my situation needs a kind of urgent attention. Mind you, I can be managing the tinnitus but the hyperacusis is what is disturbing me.

2. Meeting men of God.
This is also a nice idea cuz I believe in the power of God but I don't want to toll that line again for now. First I don't have the funds to be traveling and other things required. I'm open to visiting as many as possible if someone can move me to the place, I have spent enough in seeking miracle and I know the cost involved.
3. Hearing aid.
This is not good for me, I have tried hearing aid on many occasions but the results is always negative. Now that the noise in my ear is even louder, I don't know how that will help me. Moreover the cost is high, I check and saw a receipt of one I did in 2014 at BSA for 12,500 and believe it will more than that now.
4.Youtube videos.
I'm using a small phone and will not be able to view it now.
5.self medication.
I won't try this, a certain moniker explain how to use onions in my ear so clearly that I was tempted to try it but quickly remember how one man said I should use olive oil which ended up staying in my inner ear for months cuz according to a doctor, my ear drum was not good so everything just went and settled in my inner ear.
6. Diet.
Many specialist mention this to me but getting food to eat now is difficult not to take of a balance diet. I know some of the things I needed to be taking to improve my health but they are beyond me. If I eat twice a day, that will be a nice to me. So I can't follow this route too

My plan
I'm going with the option of getting a surgery, a nairalander promise to get me a ear bud for the meantime. I'm greatful to him. Another nairalander also instructed me to get an estimate of the cost of surgery and get back to him. Now immediately I get the ear bud, I will go back to town and made more research, I just hope I can get the buds on Monday so that I will travel to town on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, I have looked up necc Kaduna online and they seems good to me just that there online presence is near to none. I appeal to anyone around who will have time to help me make enquiries there. If I had money, I would have travel to Kaduna myself.

Lastly, to those sending me mails, I will be replying them but not fast cus I always borrow a phone to access my email. I prefer text messages on the number on my signature.
My condition is really bad right now but I don't want to start begging people for now. But I believe help will come my way soon. I need every prayer and kind words right now more than ever, reading them alone always make me feel better. Thank you nairaland

Note: Those calling my line are not helping me at all, if you want to hear from, just drop a message and I will reply you ASAP
The calls are unnecessary

No wahala, but keep the question in mind if that is the only way for you to guarantee a peace of mind. God's way is never our way, his thought is never our thought. As heaven is high above the earyh is his way and thoughts far above ours. You have my goodwill always. Stay blessed.
My reply to you earlier was childish, rude and totally uncalled for. I apologise from my sincere heart. I'm not trying to defend my rude behaviour but believe me, i'm having emotional issues. My mood use to swing easily these days.
Pls don't take my words to heart, you were just trying to help and i appreciate that till now. Stay well brother

kpakpakpa, but seriously what if your condition is an invitation from God to invite you into solitude? What if he needs you to withdraw from all the noises around to a place where both of you can have one on one conversation? Think about it. Withdraw from the noise around and seek God in quiet places.
You have a condition that demands you spend a lot of time in silent contemplation/
I already replied your mail and really appreciate your kind words and concern but this statement got me on a wrong foot.
FYI God i'm not experiencing any quietness at all, infact, its the noise that is killing me slowly. And if that is the only way God can invite me, then i'm not interested in his kingdom or heaven. Haba!

Sorry about, bro.

Kindly discuss with your ENT specialists if they can do Round and Oval Window Reinforcement surgery, which is safer and relatively simpler that the Neurectomy you were contemplating.

Also, there are some experimental studies that found drugs like Carbamazepine somewhat effective in some patients. You can discuss that with your doctors too.

I wish you all the best
Thank you so much, I'm still on the materials you sent earlier. I'm seeing a little hope so far.

If not, this is a good time to say bye, you will share custody of the child.

You don't have to tell everyone around you he is gay...but if you do talk to him, let him know you know, and why u can't go on with the relationship.

You will find another man..hopefully

Wealth certainly makes the financial part of life better, but it doesn't guarantee happiness, health and peace of mind.

I have been both poor and should I say Rich but I felt unhappiness both times.

For example, President Yar' Adua died of ill health despite the billions of dollars available to him. This is just one example. In this case, do you think money could have solved his issue?

You probably won't understand if you have never experienced both ends of the spectrum. You can only visualize and analyse your own personal experience.

Danger of a single story!

Best of luck.

Maybe N200 at most. it's just a piece of foam.
Like someone already pointed out, the hyperacusis you're having is because your stapedial muscle is screwed up. So long as earplugs stop the lightliest of sound from getting to your tympanic (ear drum), the sound should stop all together.
N200?
Where can i get it to buy asap? I don't have a good phone to order something online, moreover, i'm in the village.

I will pay for transportation too if you or anyone is willing to help order it. Thanks brother

Hearing plug is just a piece of foam those in construction/noisy industry use to cushion noise pollution. I will try upload a picture if NL allows me.

Above all, I hope you've gotten yourself a hearing plug already?
It Should minimize the tinnitus sounds to the bearest minimum.
I'm yet to get a hearing plug due to my financial status now. Moreover, any funds that comes to my hand now will be channeled towards seen a doctor.

I felt pained and anger reading this!!!
This is often the same story I hear everywhere - Nigerian ENT specialist often end up complicating their patient hearing problem!
Nigeria currently don't have Ear doctor(otolaryngologist).
The ENT specialist we have here are only good on Nose and Throat.
Instead of seeing an ENT specialist, I would rather you see a good audiologist!
Please give an update on your situation.
It is very frustrating brother. So far, i intend reaching out to that kaduna hospital and see what will happen. The funds are not ready but i will try soon and for sure give feedback to the house.

OP, where you still taking the drugs even after you noticed hearing loss in one ear or had you already discontinued use of the drugs that supposedly caused the hearing loss at the time you realized you had developed problem with hearing? undecided
1. It was 3days to my discharge date that i notice the issue of hearing loss.
2. I did not know that the cause of the problem was the drugs i took side effects untill the docs mention it to me. I had no prior knowledge about those things

I think i explained your question in my posts earlier on page one
