In December 2017, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) announced to the world and an excited Abuja that it would embark on and soon unveil the first municipal-sponsored biogas facility at the Karu Abattoir – a hugely underrated money-spinning commercial hub.

The plant was to service the overworked and hygiene-challenged Karu abattoir as well as provide power to local communities in 6 months. 7 Months later however, less than nothing has been done and the FCT authorities have kept mum about it.

The project developers have also stated that what they asked of the FCT is a simple letter of authority so they can kickstart the project, but that has not been forthcoming.
