Please the only two specialists are a good physiotherapist and a good paediatrician. He/ she has had what is referred to as erbs palsy. It is a type of brachial plexus injury. Another type due to birth injury is Klumpke's paralysis. It is only a physiotherapist that can differentiate this. Neither of these conditions resolve without proper and adequate physiotherapy. Please be guided. See a physiotherapist. Treatment starts from the day of injury.
Hi Segoje,

Do you know any good paediatric physiotherapist in the country preferably Lagos? I have a nephew who suffers from the same condition and is about 3-4 years old.

My preferred best movie was IGODO 'cos the storyline was well thought out. Watching it now on youtube...

Another good one which i can't remember the name featured Sam Dede and Steph-Nora Okereke with Sam Dede acting as a police detective trying to unravel the mystery behind the death of Steph's mother.

Liz Benson was really a damsel in her hey days. wink

Hello Okon.Akpan,
I am really sympathetic to your case.Marriage is an institution established by God and ONLY him can find solutions bedeviling your marriage right now;you cannot take a faulty Nokia phone to a Blackberry repair man 'cos he will only make matters worse. That said since you mentioned that your woes started after the marriage,i think the problem was that you didn't really get to know your wife while you were dating/courting.
I would have said that i subscribe to DonColio's advice but that might not change anything.I believe you have to seek your Maker in prayers to set things right.Your marriage foundation is faulty.Minimize third-party involvement as you try to settle but if this is impossible, seek spiritual counsel.
Ordinarily, the easy way out is through separation but i won't subscribe to this either.I believe you want to make your marriage work so roll up your sleeves and put the devil to shame.God be with you.

LiteratureChinua Achebe At 82: “we Remember Differently” By Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie by krap(op): 4:29pm On Nov 24, 2012
By Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

I have met Chinua Achebe only three times. The first, at the National Arts Club in Manhattan, I joined the admiring circle around him. A gentle-faced man in a wheelchair.

“Good evening, sir. I’m Chimamanda Adichie,” I said, and he replied, mildly, “I thought you were running away from me.”

I mumbled, nervous, grateful for the crush of people around us. I had been running away from him. After my first novel was published, I received an email from his son. My dad has just read your novel and liked it very much. He wants you to call him at this number. I read it over and over, breathless with excitement. But I never called. A few years later, my editor sent Achebe a manuscript of my second novel. She did not tell me, because she wanted to shield me from the possibility of disappointment. One afternoon, she called. “Chimamanda, are you sitting down? I have wonderful news.” She read me the blurb Achebe had just sent her. We do not usually associate wisdom with beginners, but here is a new writer endowed with the gift of ancient storytellers. Adichie knows what is at stake, and what to do about it. She is fearless or she would not have taken on the intimidating horror of Nigeria’s civil war. Adichie came almost fully made. Afterwards, I held on to the phone and wept. I have memorized those words. In my mind, they glimmer still, the validation of a writer whose work had validated me.

PoliticsRichard Branson- Nigerian Politicians Are Insane, & Dream Killers by krap(op): 5:37pm On Jul 28, 2012
Nigerian Politicians Are Very Insane, They Kill Dreams – Richard Branson

The rich international businessman, Richard Branson, has lambasted the crop of leaders we have in Nigeria for their high level greed which, according to him, is killing big brands wishing to do business with the government of the country, for the growth of Nigeria’s economy.

Below is the revelations by Mr. Branson on his experience in Nigeria…

The chairman of Virgin Atlantic said: “…we have virgin’s ill-fated footsteps by setting up a new airline in Africa in conjunction with Nigerian government…the details of the doomed attempts to crack the Nigerian market in the 2000s is better imagined…we put …together a very good airline-the first airline in West Africa that was ever IOSA/IATA operational safety audit accredited but unfortunately it got tied down to the politics of the country…we led the airlines for 11 years…

We fought daily battle against government agents who wanted to daily make fortune from us, politicians who saw the government 49% as a meal to seek for all kinds of favour…watchdogs (regulatory body) that didn’t know what to do and persistently asking for bribes at any point…Nigeria people are generally nice but the politicians are very insane…that may be irony because the people make up the politicians

But those politicians are selfish…we did make N3billion for the federal government of Nigeria during the joint venture…realising that the government didn’t bring nothing to the table/partnership except dubious debts by the previous carrier, Nigeria Airways…The joint venture should have been the biggest African carrier by now if the partnership was allowed to grow, but the politicians KILLED it…Nigeria is a country we SHALL NEVER consider to doing business again..

Christianity EtcBishop Oyedepo To Muslim Sister : “Convert To Christianity Or Die Poor,” by krap(op): 5:00pm On Jul 28, 2012
The presiding bishop and founder of the Living Faith Christian Church International, better known as Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Eniola Oyedepo is not new to controversy.

Though he seems like a man that can tolerate others, it is surprising that the man cannot hide his disdain for the Islamic religion which was evident when little Abdul-Gafar Ayomide Salami, a young Nigerian student seeking admission to Oyedepo church owned Covenant University was denied admission despite having all required qualifications, just because he is a Muslim.

If what he did to little Abdul-Gafar is thought to be anything serious, his disposition towards his half-sister, Alhaja Saratu Bello who refuses to become a Christian after every method implored by Oyedepo to convert her failed. He swore not to have anything .to do with her until she changes her religion to Christianity. The sister in question is being treated like the black sheep of the family and the bishop has forbidden everybody from helping her.

The sister who lives in Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos is living in abject poverty and finds it difficult to feed while her other siblings are living in affluence. Those who know her doubt her story of being related to the man who can be said to be the richest pastor in Africa.

The man of God who is the surviving one of a set of twins after a prolonged delay in having a fruit of the womb by the late mother was born into a Muslim family of Pa Oyedepo in Omu-Aran. David Oyedepo was instrumental in the conversion of his father to becoming a Christian, a thing the father agreed to when he was very old after which he was baptized by his own son before death

PoliticsIran Offers A Bachelor's Degree In How To Be A Prison Warden by krap(op): 2:34pm On Jul 25, 2012
Iran is to offer university degrees in how to be a prison warden in a move aimed at controlling the country's bulging number of inmates.

The four-year BA courses are due to start in the autumn at two higher educational colleges run by the Iranian prison service.

Their introduction offers an insight into the theocratic regime's priorities at a time when large numbers of political prisoners are being held and some prisons are packed to six times their capacity, according to Iran's prison's chief, Gholamhossein Esmaili, who has said there are 220,000 inmates nationwide.

It follows the scandal at Kahrizak detention facility in Tehran after the bitterly disputed 2009 presidential election, when several detained protesters – including the son of a prominent government scientist – died in custody. A parliamentary inquiry subsequently concluded the deaths were due to injuries inflicted by their jailers.

PoliticsEFCC Releases A List Of The 1st Batch Of Alleged Fuel Subsidy Fraudsters by krap(op): 7:01pm On Jul 24, 2012
EFCC has released the list of the first batch of fuel subsidy suspects to be prosecuted in court.

There are seven companies and 12 individuals…and they are:

The companies: Nasaman Oil Services, Eternal Oil and Gas Plc, Ontario Oil & Gas Plc, Nadabo Energy Limited, Pacific Silver Line Limited, Axenergy Limited, and Fago Petroleum and Gas Limited.

The individuals: Mamman Nasir Ali, Christian Taylor, Mahmud Tukur, Ochonogor Alex, Walter Wagbatsoma, Adaoha Ugo-Ngadi, Fakuade Babafemi Ebenezer, Ezekiel Olaleye Ejidele, Abubakar Ali Peters, Jude Agube Abalaka, Abdulahi Alao and Oluwaseun Ogunbanbo.

Ezekiel Olaleye Ejidele is director of renowned accounting firm, Akintola Williams Delloite, while Fakuade Babafemi Ebenezer is a staff of the Petroleum Products Pricing and Regulating Agency (PPPRA).

Nasaman Oil Services, Mamman Nasir and Christian Taylor are to face charges bordering on obtaining N4,460,130,797.94 from the Federal Government of Nigeria under false pretence. The sum is alleged to have been fraudulently obtained as subsidy payments from the Petroleum Support Fund for the purported importation of 30.5m litres of Premium Motor Spirit from SEATAC Petroleum Limited of British Virgin Islands.

In the same vein, the anti-corruption agency will equally prosecute Abdulahi Alao and Axenergy Limited for allegedly obtaining the sum of N2,640,141,707.75, being payments received from the Petroleum Support Fund for the purported importation of 33.3million litres of Premium Motor Spirit.

Others include Mahmud Tukur, Ochonogor Alex, Abdulahi Alao and Eternal Oil And Gas Plc, who will be docked for fraudulently obtaining the sum of N1,899,238,946.02 from the Petroleum support Fund for a purported importation of 80.3million litres of Premium Motor Spirit.

Also, Nadabo Energy Limited, Abubakar Ali Peters, Jude Agube Abalaka and Pacific Silver Line Limited are to be prosecuted for allegedly obtaining the sum of N1,464,961,978.24, being payments fraudulently received from the Petroleum Support Fund for a purported importation of 19.4million litres of Premium Motor Spirit.

Walter Wagbatsoma, Adaoha Ugo-Ngadi, Fakuade Babafemi Ebenezer, Ezekiel Olaleye Ejidele and Ontario Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited will be arraigned for fraudulently obtaining the sum of N1,959,377,542.63 from the Petroleum Support Fund for a purported importation of 39.2million litres of Premium Motor Spirit.

Lastly, Fago Petroleum and Gas Limited and Oluwaseun Ogunbanbo are to be docked for fraudulently obtaining the sum of N979,653,110.20 from the Petroleum Support Fund for a purported importation of 33, 627, 84 litres of Premium Motor Spirit.

According to EFCC, the suspects are among a larger list of more than 140 individuals and organisations involved in ongoing investigations into the subsidy payments, and so more suspects will be arraigned periodically as the investigation progresses.

The Commission described the investigation as massive and extensive, and reassured Nigerians that it would do all within its powers to apprehend and punish all the people defrauded the country under the guise of subsidy for imported fuel.

Before now, there had been widespread belief that those involved could evade justice, as a number of high-profile national figures are thought to have spearheaded the scam.

floriana: . You claimed to know a good number of people that work there. What you have no told us is that you have asked them about the stress level and frequent death in the bank. Until you have done that, you got no point.
Quit the mumble jumbo and stick to facts here.So what you are inferring here is that staff of other banks come to work to lounge and are immune to death.Again i ask, what really is the 'stress level' you are continuously yapping about that they are on?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: The Bank Paying The Highest Salary For Entry Level by krap(m): 5:52pm On Mar 25, 2012
floriana: there is no absolute highest paying bank. Its relative to the stress you will get. It is better for instance to earn. 100k as a staff of GT or First Bank, than take a job in Zenith and earn 150k. Zenith will kill you with stress. Ask any staff of Zenith, they will tell you the number of their staff that have died this year.
Please can you expound more on the bold part of your statement and if possible give a number to your assertion of 'dead staff' and 'stress'(every job has its fair share of it undecided ?)'cos i know a good number of people who work there and never heard of such.
BusinessRe: Cash-Less Economy: How Will It Affect You? by krap(m):
@2tru talk

let me shed a little light on some questions you have raised
Ques 1:First, how will the bank handle an excess limit deposit made in Lagos State in favour of an account holder who lives outside the State, will the person's account be debited?
Ans:Since the deposit is being made in Lagos, the depositor(and not the account holder) will have to bear the charges once the maximum deposit limit is exceeded.

Ques 2:Secondly, how will the bank handle an excess limit deposit made by someone outside Lagos State in favour of an account holder who is a resident in Lagos State, will the person's account be debited?
Ans: No,the account is not debited since the deposit is being made outside Lagos and the policy is yet to kick start outside Lagos.

Ques 3:Thirdly, will the policy affect only those whose accounts are domiciled in banks located in Lagos or anybody who makes deposits/withdrawals within the boundaries of the State irrespective of where the account is domiciled?
Ans: For now the policy affects anybody who makes deposits/withdrawals within the boundaries of Lagos State irrespective of where the account is domiciled

@ All
I think there are some misconceptions about this whole 'cash-lite' policy of the CBN.You can approach any bank to throw more light on it and some doubts about this policy will be cleared off but for the sake of information i will try and highlight some important points here:

1. Your normal day to day transfers of any amount can be done without attracting any charge. The emphasis here is CASH.As long as no cash is being handled,u are free from any charge what so ever. This would result in more people having accounts with banks for their day to day transactions.

2. Someone said that people get swindled due do fake text messages they get for transactions that never happened;there are many ways to checkmate this:
i. I know that some banks have various means of verifying credit alerts on their phones where by they can send codes to selected numbers to validate if a transaction is dubious or not.Contact your bank to get such information
ii. You can call your account officer to give you details on the balance on your account after a deal has been done
iii.You can also verify it online through your internet banking platform where you can check the cash flow in your account
iv. Account balances can be checked through the ATMs and POS machines.
v. You can walk into any branch of you bank to get the balance on your account.
3. People can even carry out transactions with their phones such as paying of bills(PHCN,DSTV etc),phone top-up,cash transfers etc.

4. As regards online frauds,i think i will be lying if i say it would not be an issue but there is a way around and this is MY opinion:
i. If u have 2 accounts and you feel maybe you don't want to 'risk' being defrauded, you could tie one down to the electronic payment channels(ATM,internet banking,POS) where you might feel that a loss might not be detrimental to your business.
ii. NEVER give out details of your cards(credit cards, debit cards etc) to anyone or 'anything'(online i mean smiley ).
iii. Always be in touch with your account officer.
iv. There are set limits when doing online transactions so this also acts like a check.Contact your bank to know the limits.

Issues will definitely arise 'cos this will certainly change our lifestyles and change doesn't come easy but such issues cannot be insurmountable if we set our minds to overcome them.

CAVEAT: I don't work for the CBN or the government so i cannot say i covered every ground with this post so any one that needs SLS's attention, please kindly forward it to him for answers wink

@ OP

I think u need not confront the biz partner but your own wife and let her make a choice between the 'biz partnership' with the man and you.Yes,something must give here because no two captains can run a ship.It will be a hard decision for her 'cos from your posts, her family knows the man but the choice has to made. Believe me we(or You) have not not heard the last of the union partnership as posters have rightly said this man has a grip on your fiancee and if u don't set things straight here, you will be on a collision course with this man when you get married.

You are not being selfish here if u tell her to make the choice 'cos u are after your happiness and hers and the sanctity of your marriage if she doesn't see that way well the choice is yours. And for the man telling u that she is a virgin, hmmm how him carry know or is it part of their business discussions, ?

Pray for wisdom here bro and may the force be with thee cool
BusinessRe: How Is Cbn Cashless Policy Going To Affect Your Business? by krap(m): 8:13pm On Jan 14, 2012
@Lastpage
Like i said before, you are misinformed but for knowledge sake, look up the word CIT you are wrongly inferring to mean online money transfer(or simply money transfer) here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cash-in-transit.

lastpage:
Problem now is, they wont be paid directly by the bank, it is now through another “intermediary”! Copy that?
Again, there is a “limit” on how much you can transfer online (by CIT or otherwise) in a day. It is called your “daily transfer limit”. Go to any bank and find out please.
First, there is no intermediary when you make online transfers for any one to collect cash. You are probably still mistaking the CIT's role as stipulated by the policy( http://www.cbn.gov.ng/cashless/ )where they are now licensed to make cash movements and not for the online transfers you are inferring above.

Secondly, just like i said in my previous post, banks have their limits on online transfers which is cumulative, i think you are the one who needs to do make the visit to a bank for further clarifications and not moi wink

And i need to re-emphasize this, even after March 30th, you can still withdraw/deposit above the stipulated limit but the service charges would now apply.Reducing cash in circulation (not eliminating) it is one of the main reasons why this policy was set-up.

Regards.

Wrong thinking bro. If we are to go by what the policy stipulates then u can't beat the system that i can say as a matter of fact.
BusinessRe: How Is Cbn Cashless Policy Going To Affect Your Business? by krap(m): 1:31pm On Jan 11, 2012
@lastpage
You are terribly misinformed as the intention of the policy. Like i said the emphasis here is CASH:to reduce the amount of physical cash being handled, one can wire money into any account and the service charges won't apply. And the C-I-T(Cash-In-Transit) companies u mentioned  are only required when u want to move cash from one location to another which has put off the use of bullion vans by the banks and not for cash transfers. The limit on online transfer serves its purposes if u ask me. I am only throwing more light on the policy and not to determine if it will succeed or not. Gracias!
BusinessRe: How Is Cbn Cashless Policy Going To Affect Your Business? by krap(m): 12:36pm On Jan 11, 2012
Just as one of the posters said above, you can wire any amount into any account of your choice as long as you are collecting it as cash, the service charge would not apply. The emphasis here is that u are not handling cash but there is a cash limit one can do when doing the online banking(for Zenith i think 300k).Bottom line is that people are encouraged to embrace alternate payment mediums (PoS,Atms,Neft, online banking etc).
