MI 9T (also known as Redmi K20) is a flagship killer and it packs a SD730, the Pro version tho (MI 9T Pro/K20 Pro) comes with last year's flagship SD855.

Mi Note 10 comes with Flagship grade 108mp penta set up but at it's heart is a SD730 as well and it's referred to as Flagship killer.

The new SD765 is a 5G chipset and it's already being touted as a very capable Flagship killer chipset.

That being said, Flagship grade chipsets can also be used in Flagship killers. The aim of this class is providing Flagship experience at a more affordable price.

The 700 series is aiming to bridge the gap between Midrange and flagship hence at the lower end you have midrangers and at the upper end, flagship killers.

At this rate, flagship killers with 865 might be ded. Can't wait for the competition to up their game so Qualcomm will stop their ridiculous practices. Imagine 865 got no inbuilt 4G modem but is separate and must be bought full price, even though 5G isn't needed.... Who does that?

As for Dimensity, I'm hearing that Xiaomi may risk it in the Redmi Note 10 series. It's why I'm considering pitching my tent with the Note 9S for the foreseeable future.

They might if price of SD chips don't depreciate. Seeing the amount of support from the devs on note 8 pro, despite several issues encountered, the note 10 series might also be a success

But one thing got me bothered, which is the statement about 730/G above taking the title as flagship killers.
Though there's a $400 and $550 865-powered phone, I don't think the era of flagship chips used in flagships killers is over.

Hope dimensity 1000+ won't be a flop in real-world use

Why not? what's stopping them? They have already gained hold on Africa, the next thing for them to do is to try and extend their dominance or presence, which I think they shoud be capable of doing.

Lemme break it down for you..

North America - carriers won't support them cos they offering outdated specs, if they decide to go the xiaomi route they'll just close and leave North America.

South America - these guys value their money and will bash any company trying to swindle them of their hard earned money. Not a good place for them cost wise

Europe - EU laws will force them to use decent hardware on their device. If they don't, they can't sell there and if a complaint is raised against them and it's investigated, the outcome won't be nice for them

Asia - most people here are so tech conscious they reject anything with mediocre build and hardware but it is also the biggest market for OEMs. How will they sell here or make a decent appearance here?

Where will they start from eh? Home base and they can't sell their own products, few people from there I've asked said they don't even know Transsion holdings or if they do, don't know what they make

Tell your contacts to make sure you don't view their status cos you'll definitely have some mad people on your contacts that'll turn their status to cinema.

Doing this will prevent your app from trying to load all contacts status for you to view as it takes a toll on your network and the app itself, causing it to crash.

Buying an iPhone won't help, even if it's optimized, unless it's got a V16 engine for a processor.

to further buttress your point if sim supported network speed Airtel would have had all their customers get a new sim but instead they only insist you only get a 4g enabled smartphone and that was it. Mtn selling new 5g sims was just to boost their customer base and offcourse make more money from sim sales

But most people don't know that there IS no need to get a SIM card for 4G, just a decent phone that supports 4G, they didn't know that their SIM cards already got identifiers i.e. it's already got them bands, waiting to be activated in scenarios like changing regions/location.

4G was easy to get and use, even with old SIM but like you said @bolded, it's all for the money

Welp, time to invest in a MiFi and hope there'll be data plans or existing plans gets an increased data volume suited for 5G, not the nonsense they did with 4G before offering bonuses to some data plans

Tecno n infinix under the same company so.... But all the same, phones are getting better specs with a decent buy price. If I were you, I'd explore other brands that offers better specs for same price/within your budget

@OP It's the phone having several bands and having several antennas in several parts of the phone plus the modem that's in the chipset.
Also put into consideration that some of these phones supports LTE categories like LTE-A (LTE aggregation) which is the combination of several bands to give you high data speeds and prevent loss of network, hence why the phones mentioned can surf the web with glo whereas some phones will be slower than a snail unless you're within reach of the mast that has the band.

Other factors affect data speeds but SIM cards doesn't determine how fast your network speeds should be

90fps and beyond has been a reality for about 2 years or more. Developers are just not interested in making the effort to get their games past the usual 60Hz refresh rate (or 60fps) because most devices have a 60Hz refresh rate display. If you want games that support up to 120fps, there are titles like

Vainglory, Real Racing 3, C-Ops, Standoff 2, Heroes of Hearthstone...and more.

both Realme 6 and Redmi note 8 Pro are powered by MediaTek's Helio G90T chipset for great gaming! So if you are into playing PUBG and fortnite you should opt for these mid-range smartphones.

Except the former sports a 90hz panel under its display which the latter doesn't. And if he's competitive in PUBG, he might benefit from the realme 6 cos 90fps will soon be a reality (or use gfx tool if it doesn't show on device)

If you want to be spoiled by the 90hz screen refresh rate, go with realme 6/pro. If that doesn't bother you, go with note 8 pro

What's the need for near pc like processors on a mobile phone of the only games you can run on it is still not as good as the 20 years old ps3.
Snapdragon 825 of 5 years can handle anything you throw at it comfortably till today. So I'll stick with my S845 till mobile app developers start using their senses.

For emulators, cloud gaming, playing demanding fps and open world games, programming.........

You're right though, only few brands have partnered with devs to enable them release games that'll be able to use the full power of the chip powering their phones, like Asus did for their ROG 2 and this would be a beautiful waste of money and underutilization of the chipset.

@Bolded I knew Qualcomm will never give up, they v faced different challenges at every segement of the market and they came on top. My only beef with them is that they hold the market to ransom and dictate negatively which has impacted consumer in a negative manner. Imagine midrange going up to $600 while flagship killers going up to $1000+ just because Qualcomm decided to increase price by his own wisdom and there is no alternative capable chips except over heating mediatek and lagging exynos, while kirin has technically been killed by american policies and Intel Atom is dead abd burried.

Several things caused the drastic price increase on the 865, like the modem not integrated into the chip but sold separately (minus licensing fee) and mediatek dimensity 1000 is missing some specs that could have made people take them more serious despite their previous fvckups.

If Kirin keeps up despite the ban on using GApps, mediatek takes things serious instead of making chips to stay relevant, the monopoly would die off with most of us happy with our purchase.

But if we're being honest, the battle for the best flagship chipset will be between Qualcomm and Exynos.

So it begins..... Qualcomm doesn't want to be left behind in brining near PC specs to Android devices.

With the way things are, ROG 3 global might be the first device to launch with the 875

I bought the phone 4 days ago for 135k in Port Harcourt.I actually bought the last one in the shop after going around Ph.Phone is scarce because of Covid.

Before Covid it sold for about 103k at slot.

Yes I noticed but Samsung's snapdragon variants were the same price or slightly cheaper than the exynos variants in some cases like the S20. They might pull an Apple on us.
