As if the country doesn't have enough negativity around it, this guy wants to add more by teaching fraudsters!? What happened to those with the skills? With him being quite popular, he should have channeled the energy he wants to use to "reform" fraudsters to actually getting people who are struggling to showcase their skills to others, and put the country in a good light, but noo, baba woke up with intent to further tarnish the image of this country for some selfish gain. The fraudsters I have around me, whenever they show interest in this field, it's to see if there are softwares they could use to carry out their nefarious activities, not because they want to earn "tech money", but because they don't want to spend money buying em, and even the ones claiming to be serious stops doing it. He should perish the idea if he's adamant on trying to reform fraudsters and stick to his Chess izh. |
Godspeed001:None taken. Me personally would prefer he remains childless till he becomes stable. Watched and seen one too many families pop too many children they can afford to feed in the name of 'blessings from the Lord', seen the way they behave with their children, and lots more that makes me wonder why they have children in the first place. Overbearing would work, but most who practice that are the ones financially stable, whereas the poor ones would chase after some other woman aside their wife, brainwash, and get em preggers, then come stash em up on the other side of town. So yeah, I'd rather they have no children at all. Plus as one already pointed out, this isn't the thread for this convo. |
meum:More like have zero kids if one isn't financially stable to feed his/her wards comfortably and would resort to sending them out to be 'servants' to learn a trade at a young age. Worse is a coworker got this mindset that despite his troubles, he'd still have kids because "that might be the next president" |
What's wrong with running the queries written via terminal or the built-in one in VSCode? Why use an extension?? From what I can gather, seems you didn't login to the SQL database, meaning the queries you wrote won't execute |
Farm (poultry) Playing Axie Infinity (funds data needs) Better opportunities in my location (there's a modern bakery around my location), but above offers me more flexibility and freedom to do whatever. |
This post is akin to saying why there aren't rich plumbers, Uber drivers, e.t.c. There are, and it's not hearsay. I've seen and talked to some (one's working for my old man on one of his houses). For the programmers, there are, know of one while I was in Lagos years back. Unless your definition of rich for them is one who's earning 100M+ annually |
OP, if you like doing one-time commits, stop it. If one were to check your one-time commit messages, they do little to nothing to explain what the code you committed does. HMs don't have time to read your entire codebase when it's not a code review, they check your commit history. Each little commit tells HMs/collaborators a story, shows your thought process while writing said code blocks, and makes it easier for them to choose questions to ask you. Seeing one commit with thousands of code will put me off if I were a HM or wanting to work with you as a collaborator/maintainer, and tells me you don't test functions you wrote (even if you have a folder with test cases, and you do one commit, it shows you are a bad programmer, and your code might have hidden bugs unaccounted for). Overall, everyone wants to see your progress while creating a given project. Nobody cares if you can write ez/mid data structures off your head, most people can. If a team member asks for clarification over your 'readable' code, and you can't be bothered to explain, but complain that it's 'self-explanatory', you're off the team (and the organization, given the way you act here it'll be no different irl). |
No one should waste their time clicking the link. If anyone wants it for MTN, wait till it's Tuesday (it appears every Tuesday), and you'll get the said offer either via their app or dial *121#. |
Anonime1105:At least you didn't go shopping for a new SSD weeks later. |
Adeoye11:4gb is way too poor for running VMs on Windows. 8gb will still have you getting stutters. There's the option to upgrade ram to 16gb minimum (dual channel is better), but know this might/might not entirely fix the issue. Other factors comes to play (as per what Air asked of you). |
Would be nice, but since it's hybrid, best of luck finding people to fill them roles. |
Adeoye11:What's the name of the VM software you installed? Did you confiure the VM on any way (number of threads allocated, RAM, ...?) Installed any apps recently before said issue happened? Your PC specs? To me, either Windows started running some process which requires more CPU power (hence the VM unresponsive and crashing), you installed some software we're not aware of, PC not decent enough to spin a VM with Windows, ... Could be any of these mentioned causing it, though the go-to would be Windows hogging resources and a not-so-decent PC for VMs (can't be sure). |
chukwuebuka65:Spend more time knowing how Linux works, and make it work with your workflow (scripts, Cron jobs, shorten complex commands to aliases, and more that'll come to you). That already done, get to doing some actual work. Avoid theming like a madman. Ricing is cool, till you install this seemingly harmless widget/extension that'll cause you issues like a memory leak, which leads to freezing, makes you do a clean reinstall because you don't have a backup via Timeshift, and uninstalling the offending widget didn't change anything (true story). Other than that, here are some tips; Get Timeshift (backup your data, it doesn't extend to files stored) Avoid updating your packages/system the moment an update drops, even if it's a kernel update (6.4.* freezing on AMD CPUs, 6.4.9 fixed it for some). Wait for others to review before doing so. |
LikeAking:True, but some do it as a one-time thing, others don't bother at all, just deploy and wait for it to go to hell. |
This an AMA of sorts? |
Adeoye11:Not an expert per se, but here ya go. When coming to Linux which distro is best?No "best" distro, each got their own specific use. I want to opt for either Debian or Ubuntu, but from videos have watched they advised that Ubuntu is better for a Linux beginner.Ubuntu for beginners. There are other derivatives based on different desktop environments like K(DE)ubuntu and L(XDE)ubuntu. Leave Debian for now. It's not the distro you want to start with as a beginner, given your skepticism. Second which is the most important in my question and it has been giving my headache please I would like to ask how should I download the Linux?Get a USB stick, flash it with Ventoy or Rufus (I prefer Ventoy). Boot into UEFI or BIOS, change the boot sequence to start with USB, guides already covers this. Should I download a virtual machine first before downloading the type of distro I prefer or I should just download a complete package of either Ubuntu or debian?Yes and yes if it's Ubuntu, else use a VM for any other distro like Debian. But still, let Debian be for now. If am to download straight without first downloading the virtual machine won't I encounter problem while installing? Some distro (emphasis on some) have this feature, where you either "test" it without doing the full installation to see what works or just install without testing. Ubuntu guides will have them installing without testing, quite normal. And finally what are the advantages of downloading the virtual machine and also what are the advantage of downloading directly without virtual machine. Both have its perks, though I prefer to have it on my main system. With VM, you can experiment without nuking your system, amongst other reasons, though it has its drawbacks if you're using an average PC or worse, a potato. For me, I keep a VM to test new things out for different distros and learning purposes, plus I can kamikaze the distro configs without worrying about nuking my system. Since you're skeptical, best you do everything in a VM first before installing on your main system. |
AhmedGhost:Gift of life? Seriously!? Same gift of life that tried to force me into a life of crime for their own selfish needs under the guise of securing my future!?? Please, don't make me laugh. |
AhmedGhost:Been there, experienced it. Still remember that year, my old man wanted me to either push drugs or join my "mates" who are doing well to do fraud just so I can "make him proud". He'd be the one to tell others about God's time, but when they're gone, it's a different story. That year was the lowest low of my life, contemplated suicide, but here I am (though I low-key still hate my family from his side) |
Had zero idea they changed it, stuff I need are done in-app. |
MS247:This works, but op should be able to show that he can really do the job before he approaches his boss, else it might lead to nowhere/drag on for some time before he sees any bump in salary. |
airsaylongcome:Most employers love to exploit others one way or another, thinking they're doing one a favour/being smart. Sad part is there are those that'll still message op and there's those that'll defend this disgusting method |
truthCoder:This. Most importantly, they should learn how GNU/Linux works and/or UNIX if that's the environment they'd wanna work with |
Up there's someone asking the real questions. |
Seems you already got it figured out on what hardware you wanna get |
Capital NO! I see people complaining about how "bland" mastodon looks and I end up wondering why they even bothered joining in the first place. I didn't escape these platforms only for some idiots to come cry the same way immigrants in France tried to turn the country into the hellhole they literally escaped. It'll be RSS all over again. |
airsaylongcome:Ah, a fellow duck user. Nice to know there are others using it. |
airsaylongcome:I've seen humanity at its worst in this field (and in general), and it's something she doesn't need to face starting out. |
Took the plunge and joined mastodon. Really lovin' it, and exploring the communities I'm seeing, though nothing much going on in Africa, or are there undocumented instances? |
Chioma4eva:Hope this is not your main, before the he-goats of NL will come and sexually harrass you, or worse. Next time, create a throwaway mail and use it till you really trust them, even if they're the same sex. |
Purvan:I won't say everywhere. In North America and other places, safe to add Nigeria to the list, there are no Rust jobs. Europe, though the lang is not as popular as C++, there are jobs, though they're scarce and I won't meet the requirements anytime soon for the ones I've come across. There are Haskell jobs out there as well, though not popular. Also, I'm not learning Rust to answer "tech bro" or whatever they call em these days or make tech money, it's just for personal use, not aggressively chasing for a spot in the job market. If the language blow in the future, good If it doesn't, good. Already got Python, though I hate it (deps conflict and other reasons) |
tensazangetsu20:That sucks. Also, not learning Rust based on the current job market in this country and outside of it, it's majorly for some pet project(s) and contributing to its ecosystem. Plus, I got my current job, and doing some side gigs, so no issues for now. If any job or doable gig shows up based on my future works irrespective of how bad things are, it's a win. |
