It isn't worth the investment right now since the mobile game industry is still at its infancy stage. One could get one to play games via emulators but then again you could get a switch or vita and still have plenty of change left.

angry angry angry

I saw the thumbnail today and I looked away. I never knew the video is about infinix.

So can we say that infinix wasn't in the limelight all these while? Yes cheesy

Can we say transsion has surely got the long awaited attention because of unbox therapy's review? Maybe yes undecided undecided
Can we say infinix is currently in the limelight? No angry

Unbox therapy is a phone reviewer with biased opinions
Never take him serious!!!

I recommend your average consumer, whoseboss, mkhbd. Those ones have sense.

Unbox therapy laulau too much.

His review on Escobar fold 2 has got a -100 reputation.

No dey surprise say na infinix people dem go pay am make he do review for them.

The reviewers you mentioned are biased and also paid to do some reviews, mrwhostheboss is a Samsung fanboy while mkhbd sometimes does proper reviews, sometimes not.

Can you see the correlation now?

Different naming schemes all in the name of rebranding was what I got from the article but I got the idea.
You might be right, but sometimes these companies might change the way they do things. But all the same, let us wait and see which device the K30 Pro/Pro Zoom will be rebranded into.

I heard redmi k30 pro will lunch globally without 5G
Yes it will be rebranded as Poco F2 for the rest of the world

Edit - it'll come with the 865 chip but no 5G cos Xiaomi won't pay the licensing fee for 5G to Qualcomm in case you're wondering.

Expected date is May but that might change

These lecturers are very corrupt. They have multiple accounts. Many of them teach in private universities too and draw salaries from there in breach of federal civil service laws. That's why they are resisting application of BVN and IPPIS .

atheistandproud:
You're very very correct. Mediatek have been caught cheating in Benchmark tests recently. Their excuse was that everyone was doing it.

Let's see how this Dimensity goes. I dey hear rumours about RN9 from Xiaomi coming with the Dimensity 800 (and 5G).
I've never relied on the so-called benchmark scores cos the way people use their device affects the overall score and yeah most OEMs do cheat, even the almighty Samsung has done it.

Back to Xiaomi using mediatek chips, it's likely mediatek has improved if the rumours should be true and given the sales of the Note 8 pro despite the issues faced by developers, I won't be surprised if they start launching devices with mediatek and Snapdragon chips again.

Mediatek

MediaTek Inc. (simplified Chinese: 联发科技; traditional Chinese: 聯發科技; pinyin: Liánfākē Jì) is a Taiwanese semiconductor company that provides chips for wireless communications, High-definition television, handheld mobile devices like smartphones and tablet computers, navigation systems, consumer multimedia products and Digital subscriber line services as well as optical disc drives.

MediaTek has revolutionised the industry somewhat and are responsible for the following innovations:

1. First to use the ARM big.LITTLE technology (2013)
2. First to use Octacore chips (2013)
3. First to use Decacore chips (2015
4. The world's first "multimode receiver" for wireless charging (2014)
5. On February 25, 2014, MediaTek announced the industry's first "five-in-one" wireless chip. The SoC MT6630 supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WiFi, Bluetooth, ANT+, GPS and FM radio.
6. MediaTek collaborated with Google on the first Ultra HD TV platform for Android TV, resulting in the development of the MT5595 digital television SoC.[41] The product first shipped in LCD TV models made by Sony.

Mediatek was a bit of a joke in the industry, especially when they tried to enter the flagship market with the Helio X series in 2014 but it wasn't successful so they focused more on the lower segments like Entry to budget smartphones with a lot of success. Some OEMs have used their lower end chips and touted them as midrange chips which failed terrible and has given them a really bad reputation. Although recently, Mediatek have gone a long way in repairing that bad rep. They have even moved up to the midrange section and have announced a 5G Dimensity chipset. Mediatek place a premium on processing power and clock speed but produce very poor GPUs. Prominent users of Mediatek chips include Samsung, Transsion, LG, Motorola, Xiaomi, Nokia etc.

Below, we'll take a look at the prominent chipsets in each category made by Mediatek.

Mediatek has 6 types of chipset
1. Dimensity series
2. Helio G
3. Helio P
4. Helio X (discontinued for the time being)
5. Helio A
6. MT6****

Entry level: These chipsets can only carry out the basic functions of a smartphone i.e calls, sms, lite version of software e.g. FB, Android Go etc. These cannot and should not carry heavy apps.

MT6580 is one of the popular chips in this section. It's a 3G chipset made in 2015. It can still be found in Tecno Spark 3 1GB RAM model as well as several other Transsion devices especially the popular Tecno L8/L9 series. The Helio A22 is also another chip found in this range. The Redmi 6A also uses this chip. There's also MT6732 (Sony Xperia E4) and MT6735 (LG X power) here. Phones here should be around the 20 to 35k price range.

Budget level: These chips can run most apps available today but do not expect too much from them. Apps may take longer periods to load and may crash a lot as well. Games should be played at low settings. The most popular chips here are Helio P22 of Infinix fame (S4 and S5). Redmi 6 also uses Helio P22. Others are MT6737 and 6737T (Tecno Pouvoir 2, Moto E4), MT6739 (Pouvoir 3, Alcatel Y5, Huawei Y5 prime). Helio P35 is also another important chipset in this range (Tecno Camon 15, Infinix S5, Vivo Y17). Phones in this range should be around the 30 to 45k range or generally below 50k.

The Midrange: These chips are very capable. They can play most games at medium settings and loading times for apps are very good. The most popular here is the Helio P60. The Helio P70 is the same as the P60 but with faster clock speed. The P60/70 phones are Nokia X5, Oppo R15, Oppo A3, Realme 1, Realme 3.
The new shiny chips in the range are Helio G70 (Realme C3) and the G90T (Realme 6 and Redmi Note 8 Pro). These new chips are very capable, snappy and powerful. Prices here are from 45k to 90k.

Flagship killers: These chips are designed to produce flagship level performance on the cheap. The chips here are the yet to released Helio P90 and the Dimensity 800 (5G).

Flagship: These chips are the best the industry have to offer. The Helio X series was made to challenge here but it failed to dislodge Snapdragon and Apple bionic. The new Dimensity 1000 and 1000L which are both 5G chips and are yet to be released may change all that.
Despite being the first to implement most of the innovations found on SoCs and having the resources to become a threat to Qualcomm and other semiconductor companies, their greed wouldn't let them realise their full potential. Instead they focused on making money. Instead, they refused to address the issues found on their chipsets, release source codes so developers can help them or host Hackathons. Even Qualcomm releases part of the source codes of their chips to some trusted Devs (Qualcomm does this sometimes before launching their flagship chipsets, started with the 8xx series, they might have been doing before and I didn't know) for their chips to find better ideas, fix old ones and get innovations but nooooo....they behaved like our leaders, looking for money without addressing issues or not taking them seriously and look at where they are today, almost at the bottom with a bad reputation. They're trying to correct some of their mistakes but they still clinging to their old ways and won't let go yet. Hope the Dimensity series won't be a flop and doesn't break anything.

Waiting for your research on Qualcomm

Yeah it might be. I call it a third tier brand. Most third tier brands can produce good things atimes.

In my opinion
1st tier brands are the likes of Samsung, Huawei, Sony,

2nd tier brands are the likes of Gionee, xiaomee, OnePlus,

3rd tier are the likes of your coolpad, vivo, amoi, konka, cubot, elephone , etc.

That doesn't mean 3rd tier phones can't burst the head of consumers Sha. Example is oppo. I call oppo a third tier phone coz if not for BBN, they wouldn't have be known.
Vivo, Xiaomi and OnePlus should be on 1st tier na... Haven't you seen Vivo's IQOO phones, Xiaomi's Note 9 Pro or OnePlus 8/8 Pro and the upcoming OnePlus Zhuh

Nice, thanks. But I've heard some people say that Sprint locked phones are almost impossible to unlock - being a CDMA network or something, and that it should be avoided.

Maybe that's why Sprint phones are much cheaper than phones locked to other networks.
If you buying any phone with carriers like sprint and co, it's better to buy the one that's already unlocked or better yet ask around to know if unlocking the phone will be difficult and the type of unlock

Check the processor used and see if it supports 64mp camera. You'll see that it doesn't and even with pixel-binning, it's not possible. Some of the specs on this phone is a lie so I'd advise you not to buy, but consider other phone brands

I've used infinix Note 5 and didn't repair it (which I thank God for till now) before I sold it but it didn't suit my needs cos I use apps that uses more processing power and the chip used wasn't enough.

My complaints are they selling recycled hardware for same price and they're not putting any effort except in advertising and using popular celebrities to sell their products (after all of Wizkid tweets that we should rush the camon 15, many here will do it), poor support for custom ROMs, crappy camera (not talking of those with edits), improper app optimization...... The list is long

What's annoying me right now is the specs of the so-called camon 15. I was dumbfounded, confused and angry when I saw the price.

Also for the offering price of the camon 15 you can get a device that has an up-to-date midrange processor or if you patient you get the infinix Note 7 when it launches as this one got a decent processor.

But going back to Tecno or infinix when there's no improvement whatsoever is like leaving the job of an executive manager and going to work as a gateman
