Boss at least i work from the comfort of my home office, one of the job pays my entire bill and have extra to save. Its demanding though with clashed meetings from the jobs.. We are all hustling to grab what we can while we still have the opportunity and invest in naija.. God bless our hustle

For me Trump is getting it right with his economic policies. If you watched state of the union last night, those economic statistics he relied out are no jokes. Black/ Hispanic unemployment at an all time low. Haters would continue to hate and CNN will keep spewing trash.

Who ever watched the state of the union and still hates this guy is suffering from cerebral palsy.. His objective was plain, simple and direct. I liked it when he talked about the endless investigation it wont take America nowhere . Even the interest rate that he/she is complaining about that keeps rising...I guess people have not be reading some of Trump's tweets about how's he's been complaining about the Feds increasing the interest rates and even talked about if there was a possibility he could change the person he appointed to head the Feds.

Unemployment is at a record low at the moment, my income is way above my cost of living, Tax cut , HB1 cessation opened up more job opportunity for me specifically that's enough for me to vote him back.. I juggle between three jobs and planning to take the fourth one ..More jobs are pouring in except you are listening to fake news CNN. I generally don't watch the weather. I hear about things through word of mouth and also the weather forecasters are right half of the time. Somebody told me yesterday that the wind chill is to be about -20. I dont know how that is possible but in anticipation, schools and some businesses are already closing.

As i type it is -3 in St Charles Missouri, i couldn't feel my hands from the hotel lobby to my car, i was shaking vehemently.. Cant wait to get out of this state

Like I said before your intentions are good just speak for yourself.Well for one the black race needs to look at each other as one. We need to unite. My opinion is that the solutions are stronger family structures and stronger economics within the black community which can only happen if we bridge the gaps between all people of African descent.
The challenge is how do we do that, which was one of the motivating factors of me starting this thread.

Beauty supply business over $2billion industry is majority owned by Asians, 90% of the customers are black we have started the movement of bringing in more black owned beauty store to take back the business from Asians.. I attended one of the seminars and i really love the information that was shared and the willingness to take it back. More black owned beauty stores are popping up, slowly and surely we will take it back.. If we can do this to other sectors of the economy we will be a force to reckon with..

Yea it was really interesting and somewhat concerning to.me when I first came to this site that the narrative is that Black Americans are jealous of Nigerians success. where did this come from? It didnt used to be like that. It used to be in my parents time, that if you were black, you were black first whether you were African, Caribbean, etc. Blacks were stronger then overall because they all saw each other as one and identified with a common cause. A success for one is success for us all. I know this is to be true because when you look at Latinos in the U.S currently, who are a minority also. they identify as Latino first and have identified a common cause and are working together to achieve their common goal. But when one group thinks they are superior or so much different than the other, it is used as a division tactic.

First off like your rightly said black were stronger because they all see each other as one, the question is what led to the dis unity among the Black race, how can we the black people unite and carve a niche for ourselves to be successful. We have all the necessary tools to be a force to reckon with.. On my own little way i have partnered with an NGO to train black groups on information Technology kicking off in march which to me brings me joy seeing i am improving peoples and give them hope for the future.. No group is thinking superior than the other cos we are all Black.. This is our time for we black to see the bigger picture, we can be whatever we wanna be so long as their is unity we can achieve anything..

I believe the issue is more of mindset that than environment. I wasn't born with a silver spoon, yet I've kept my dreams alive and never to settle for less. I have read several books which has helped shaped my mindset and given me different perspective and to be very liberal in conceiving ideas. I may not be where be where I want to be, but am getting there. When ever I remember the story of Chinedu Echeruo who sold his sofware to Apple for $1b, I believe can achieve even more than that. Is a pity that the blacks are not goal oriented and innovative.

It is the environment that controls the mindset, if you are in an environment filled with negativity your mindset will be attune to it, and vice versa.. One of the problems i have noticed in the black community is a "GENERATIONAL MINDSET" due to their environment (sphere of contact) which has grown to be a culture for them, it is passed on from generation to generation. They look down on themselves and blame Racism/white supremacy for their misfortune. More so most of them dont have a Father figure in their lives, most grew up with a single mother, and their Daughters also do same having children with no father which is hard for this young kids to think out of the box cos their environment does not encourage analytical thinking.

I remember when the movie BLACK PANTHER was released, a friend of mine (black american) told me the movies was too scientific for the black mind

So presently I am in Missouri for a project, I have traveled 70% of the entire state but I noticed something about black and white environment. I was in an all white region around Hannibal , kingdom city, I went to do some shopping at Walmart and its was pure white folks , everyone minding their business a serene environment , clean and no hassles.

I traveled to another region I didn't know it was mostly a black region , when I got to the Walmart at that location it was chaos , loud mouth, weirdos,thugs, heavily armed police on the scene etc. I began to think personally that there is a big gap betweeen black and white in all ramification of life.

Kindly share your thoughts on this.

Guys please am sorry for derailing or disturbing.please can someone get a good IT job in the USA with IT certifications(taking courses online) without having an IT degree for instance I studied history and international studies as my bachelors.Also please which is better IT degree or IT certifications.Thank you

PaulSimon2020 has said it all.. Right now IT security is in high demand. I do train people online as a network security engineer.

My theory about winter is that I can always put on layers of clothes but it isnt so easy to take layers off, well if I want to be decent antway. I do not like being in a rotisserie oven for no reason.
Crime goes up exponentially in the summer, increased AC Bill's, increased gas oil Bill's, etc.

You are right tho in that it sucks to try to plan an event bc of the weather. My and my siblings birthdays are in the winter months and lets just say we dont really celebrate.

There are plenty of things to do in the winter. Ice skating, sledding. Drinking hot cocoa and chillin. Baking sweets. And other indoor activities like movies, bowling, arcade stuff. Chrustmas and New Years are both in the winter.

Now about this Motel 6 stay, I sincerely hope you didnt come home with a new friend (bed bugs) . They are nasty creatures and if you get an infestation they can cost thousands to get rid of. Bed bugs are the new epidemic and its bad out there. They are at the really hotels, movie theaters, doctor offices etc. In fact I will upload an article about this.

You are really a prophet I killed one big bed bug crawling on the sheets i couldn't believe my eyes.. I could not sleep on the bed I had to sit on the couch cos I was so irritated. I was only on my boxers all through that weekend with the heater on. It was just unfortunate I had no where to go.

Talking about winter and summer we all it for a balanced lifestyle. Without winter you cannot go for ice skating without summer we can't chill in d beach the list goes on and on lets just appreciate their presence.

For the Chicago job I gladly turned it down yesterday, I Dont seem to fit into the Chicago hustle and buzzle , the town is so choked up, careless drivers everywhere and also he cold. It was a nice experience thus far though.

Although I did meet one black person living in Alaska, she said it wasn't that bad. She said it wasn't alot of daylight there, and well its cold.

I Dont still get what people like about winter. You can't dress as you wish, you must cover up from head to toe, you on heater all round the clock which increases your electricity bill, you can't go for a walk comfortably , swimming is a no no, you can't have an occasion cos people barely show up, absolutely no fun in winter time. So what exactly do you like about the winter.

I was heading for an interview in Chicago I decided to drive a day before the interview , I got to Missouri lo and behold I was welcomed with correct thick snow, cars were sliding , I couldn't hold my breaks I jejely made an exit to an unknown location, saw a motel 6 and managed to get there.

Interview was on a Friday I was stuck in d hotel till Monday with red necks. It was a crazy experience..
