One thing I will tell you just watch what you say to people at all times.. What are the challenges Nigerian immigrants face in starting a tech company in silicon valley and accessing funding from venture capitalist. How come there are less Nigerians in tech startup compared to Indians and Chinese immigrants.

If you read one of my previous post i talked about how the Indians are more structured in combining ideas in establishing tech companies, it must not be in silicon valley they are all over the 50 states.. Most Nigerians i have seen here from my experience hoard information cos they dont want you to be better than them, but the Indians have formed a formidable force in the IT sector, well organized people. They share information between themselves and with their combine effort and money they start up something brilliant with the initiator the CEO. You will not find one Indian person working in a warehouse or doing menial job except in a gas station which is owned by his brother or relation.

Mind you Indians are the richest immigrant in America, because of just one thing which is INFORMATION between themselves, so much so that they rarely borrow money in starting a tech company.

On the other hand Nigerians haven't gotten to that point yet because of our mentality, hoarding of information, "you must not be better than me in america" mentality. More so we are not organised like the Indians, and we have not created a niche for ourselves, we have a long way to go.. Right now some individuals who i have met are trying to create a niche in IT sector for Nigerians to compete with the Indians, its achievable but its gonna take a long time because of our attitude and mentality. I spoke on here about how my friend in IT security is trying to raise Nigerians to get into the field and i brought it up here but our Mentality will not let us see ahead.. I even mentioned how much he makes a year, i was labelled a liar. I am not giving up but will gladly train those who are willing to join the train to become a force to reckon with in the IT sector.

Please tell them , they will be decieving people here especially that Kroger will be lying. Even that good faith , I do not understand half of the stuff he/she types. Some of these people forum no even dry for this country, they will be decieving themselves.

I am where I am today because of intensive research and learning from other successful people. The truth of the matter is the first person you come across in America will determine how far you will succeed. If you come across the $12 $13 $14 gang of people that's how far u gonna go cos ur mentality will be wired on that amount/job.

I was opportune to meet the 6 figure individuals and I keyed myself tight and learned from each and everyone of.them that was how I broke into the 6 figures hierarchy. Now I have met the almost One million individual and I learning from him real good.

One funny thing is i Asked GoodFaith what tools he is using as a cyber security admin and he mentioned the two important tool the same guy is using to making over nearly a $million dollar of which I am currently studying I was surprised he mentioned them.. Information is at ur beck and call utilize it, learn from people, even if it seems too good.to be true still do ur research. Folks are.making 6 figures easily the difference between u and them is information.

One other proven way of breaking into $18 to $22 dollar mark with lesser manual labor is QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN.. Pay depends on industry, The biotechnology(Medical device) companies pay far more.. There are few specific knowledge you need to know to be a quality tech like GDP(good documentation practice) which is unavoidable in this field. You can do a research in it..

Another thing is knowing how to measure with tools like digital calipers, micrometers also check on Youtube to know how to use them its very easy. Also learn about SPC software (statistical process control) it gives u an edge on your resume..

Once in the field you can start getting your ASQ certifications, in quality tech etc just check the ASQ website to know which certification to start with and move higher, you can move higher to get lean six sigma (black and green belt) to become a quality manager/engineer which pays from 70k to 100k plus.

If interested I have a well detailed resume that will get u an interview all you need is study the resume and do a research on some tools states in the resume and you will be hired. The truth of the matter is irrespective of which company highers you, you will still get trained on their SOP/PROCEDURE that is to say u can learn on the job and gather the necessary experience.

This is one of the problems with Nigerians, always talking down on what u seem far fetched.. There are lots of Nigerians doing $13, $14 per hour job who need info to better their lives and u here trying to make jest.. I receive emails daily from individuals and soon enough u will hear testimonies from them soonest.

Sequel to my previous post, we had a success party last Saturday with both past student and present.. A very notable testimony was one of our student who had a job with capital bank as a network security engineer earning $125k at 60 years old. To be honest we were a bit skeptical about him when he started the class but he proved us wrong..

I took some picture of the school and lab environment.. We are currently working on building a server/firewall topology as our latest hands on project.. Present students were very much encouraged by our mentor who is set to hit $1 million annually.. 6 figures us very much doable in d security field.

Online classes will commence first week of September to accommodate individual in other states.

I think you guys get my drift. I may have misspoken regarding the $19 minimum wage comparison. However, RN's definitely make more than that here in Chicago. But the bottom line is the IT salaries of $700k and stuff quoted here is definitely not correct. As I mentioned I have been a consultant in this field for a long time. There is no need to believe anything we write here guys. All the info you need is out there.

Just because you dont make a certain amount doesn't mean its not attainable.. The guy in question is an independent contractor and a senior level Security Analyst. I you read my post carefully i said he does multiple jobs from home. Right now he has 4 contract jobs he is working on right now.. To each his own..

Me myself, l think it is a bad idea. I wouldnt advise people to things like this when other countries already think Nigerians are scammers and liars.

The Indians are the masters of this tactics, A guy comes straight from a village in India to america and gets a slot by his fellow Indian brothers and he learns ON THE JOB.. They have formed a formidable force in the IT sector.. So long you do your research and learn your job description there is nothing to worry about.
