Afam4eva: I actually checked and it's the snooker table that is that expensive. God punish snooker. The tennis table is about 60k. I wan fearOh,my bad!! You no like snooker? Damn!! Efe,i YAM speechless. I kept smiling each time i read the way you critiqued each work to the tiniest detail.. The critique was so good that i felt like i was reading a story.  Permit me to be a little bit stubborn :  I used 'r-turn' as opposed to the popular 'U-turn' because Mike was making a turn to his right and i thought the curve present on the top of the letter 'r' will give the readers a graphic image of the street mike was coming from and the one he was about facing. I just wanted to be creative. I felt like "If someone can sit down one day and craft the word 'U-TURN' and people accepted it,then i can also craft my own 'r-TURN',afterall it gives a vivid description and satisfies the context it's been used for. I used 'loud mouthed' for the gate because i wanted it to be a metaphor. Something like---- Time is a thief-----It's raining men---The tasty sky drank the water(tea). Of course,a gate doesn't have a mouth and can't be loud-mouthed,but at the same time,Time can never be a thief,it can never rain men and the sky doesn't have a mouth and can never drink water BUT we all know the message these words are trying to pass across. I love the way you chopped off a handful of words from my work and replaced it with one-to-two words that gave it the required effect. You are just too much. This is my first writing ever and just like you advised,"i'll practice".. Once again,thanks. Once again,you are fantastic. .. .. All izz well! |

Oh my ***.. Geez,i feel for bisi,i weep for yemi. Glowing has dealt with bisi,now she wants to deal with molade again. Pls glowing,can you tell me what you have against these girls,especially bisi. What has she done to deserve this? I'm crying ooo.. You are a fantastic and wonderful writer. I think he should be given a medal.. There is no law in this country,we should stop deceiving ourselves. The guy needs to sent abroad and given a scholarship. I pray more hackers imitate him just like the stowaway kids saga.. If militants can be sent abroad for training,then i see no reason why this guy shouldn't sue the law enforcement agency for harassment. .. .. All izz well! 27 Likes |

Nice initiative by mazi for giving newbies the chance to not just write something down, but to be appreciated for the little effort via positive criticisms and corrections which i believe will help them(us) get better.. @Judges,you guys did a very good job. It's so funny how most of us(newbies) were kinda 'wowing' at the sight of each-others work when the submission began,only for you guys(the judges) to activate cat-eye mode,read the works and started pointing out where and how we got it wrong.lol That's the work of a judge and you guys did well. As for my fellow contestants,abeg una try well well. Writing a "short story" isn't as easy as it sound to the ears,it requires alot of thinking and planning and i must say "Una try wella". I believe each and everyone got more than 5likes and that should make you proud cos people enjoyed your work,appreciated it and clicked the liked button to say "I liked your work".. Weda the "like" na for sympathy or not,dat one no concern me.. lol Congrats to the Top 5,you guys deserved it. I'll be waiting to read your works in the finale and may the best man/woman win. Nice story.. I liked it. Trust me,it's in you. The talent is there and everything needed to be a fantastic writer. The fact this this is your first work,is a testimony to the fact you're a talented writer in the making. It isn't child's play to sit down and write a story. Anybody who has ever written a letter,an eulogy or a story will agree with me. It takes a great deal of confidence and self belief to even dare post a story in the Lit section when we have many guru and fantastic writers,coupled with the fact that some readers never forget to use their acidic saliva and sword-like tongue to give their feedbacks.lol You have done well and it was nice read. .. ..
