This is not a true story. Only God knows what you really want to gain in proliferating orchestrated ill-fated stories just because you want to painted your country bad in faces of the rest of the world.
I seriously challenged you to give out public details of this innocent man, so that well meaning samaritans Nigerians can help him with cash and supports.

steeltrust:
My friend fathers was attacked in ogun state in his farm last week. The old man was marched with cutlass, it was only God that save his life. The matter was reported to the police and they came all the way from Abuja and said there’s nothing they can do.

Imagine in this tech era embarassed Nigeria police said there’s nothing they can do. He’s farm scattered, all his hard work for months destroyed and they still want to kill him just because he told them not allow their cow destroy his cassava farm.

Where re we going in this country. Nigeria is sitting on a time bomb and a lot of people don’t know

I honestly blamed Sanwo, Obasa and his Lagos legislators members for this Igbo desperation acts to seize power from Yorubas in Lagos. A visionary legislators speaker must has enacted laws to determine positions of minorities in terms of their position in politics, lands, businesses and housing.
However, a proactive governor is extremely expected to relocating these Ibos from major markets zones like Alaba, Jankara, computer village etc by relocating them to Ibadan Express forest and converting their market venue to monumental parks. Above all, we shall see the end of handful floods that are proudly saying they'll soon become mighty oceans!

You're talking it too far Brother. Irrespective of people remarks, I think we still need to be objective and respect their concerns indiscriminately. This forum is meant to help people out with broader ideas and we're here to support them with our wealth of resourceful knowledge and years of living in UK not to oppress people! I think one of the reasons why we're not moving forward as a country, is just because we failed to support and love ourselves.
Over years, I have consistently observing lifestyles of minority communities in UK like Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladesh & few Chinese just to mention few. Most of these communities will bring their brothers from their various countries staying with them assisting them in selling their petty business on high streets.
I visited one of my Pakistani course mates during my undergraduate programs, to my astonished they were visually 6 people living in a single bedroom flat with happiness and show of love. An average Nigerians in UK have competitive mindsets, they always see friends and families as competitors. Let love reigns. Help if you can and say No if you can't.
Nature will always lifts those who are willing to give arms to fellow beings. To those bad wagons you'll all soon be Baba & iya London!
A word is enough for the wise!
inphoenix:

The part in bold! Our people talking about "inconvenience". It makes me sad that people justify this "phenomenon". Notice how most Nigerian success stories abroad touch on individuals, not much impact to community, whereas these Asians (and Jews as another case in point) control empires that benefit generations. We sit here and whine about inconvenience when we should be rallying and building ourselves up. Hian!

I lived with family together with my dependant while I was studying, it was not only inconvenient for our hosts, but for us as well, but the strategy was to adjust while keeping an eye on the end goal. This allowed me save on the cost of renting such that with my 20hr weekly income, I was able to make up my tuition conveniently, something we are made to believe is not possible.

I see a lot of foreign students especially suffering unnecessarily simply because their presence will be inconvenient to someone who is supposed to be family. Rather than work on regulating our behaviour and focus on a greater good... We all have our stories and experiences which I am by no means trying to discount, we just need to tell ourselves the truth and do better as a bloc

I think 5 out of 10 Nigerians that are living in UK are born wicked. Most of these guys have terrible characters, I used to warned new comers to stop depending on them on any money related issues or shelters.
An innocent lady got stranded at Gatwick entry weeks ago having sugarcoated heavily before leaving Nigeria. Londoners are not friendly, unfortunately most of them are living fake life on social media. I encourage everyone to plan well before leaving Nigeria. Best wishes!

Honestly this question is worth answering o! I remember two months ago when I wanted to travel, and I came here to ask about staying in dartford because a “friend” is accommodating me. Lmaoooo long story short, I was already at muritala airport when she told me her mom is doing birthday and I can’t come to the house again, I was officially stranded hehehe what a silly excuse. I spent over 450 pounds doing my quarantine last minute at an hotel, how distraught I was. Oh well, now I’m settled in apartment with a good work from home part time job.

Of course, you've nothing to loss in having plan B. But I will definitely advice you to apply for your ATAS in time, so that it can keeps counting and at the same you can also gather all your funds in one account to keep the proof of funds running. I do believed that all will ripe at your favour if you plan well. You should have nothing to worry about, just plan well and well organized!

Unfortunately lots of people are given out advice without details referencing. I don't think is possible for international students on students visa to be study in UK for part time programs. Part time programs are limited to indefinite to remain in UK or citizens. I honestly stand to be correct anyway.

Of course, Gillingham is a few walk to Medway campus, just a throwing stone! But Chatham is a bit far, you honestly need to take bus. You may decide to live in London if you can cope with travelling stress. The beauty of this is that University of Greenwich has inter campuses buses running through the 3 campuses. You need to buy oyster card with little discounts from University of Greenwich main campus in London. Then you can be travelling from London to Medway campus anytime you have lectures of course, lots of Indians and Bangladesh are living in London but schooling at medway.
You honestly need to be awake in morning to meet up your bus.
However, if you're daughter of Dangote, loaded with pounds I suggest you stay in Medway or Gillingham in order to avoid stress and enjoy your studies.
Honestly, both communities are save and ok to reside. Lots of Nigerians shops on Gillingham high street, you'll definitely see tons of Nigerians around to cheer you up.
I honestly wish your family happy staying, best wishes!

Thanks for your warm reply. I would like to know which is closer to the medway campus Gillingham or Chatham ? Also which of the 3 cities would you advice me to live as I will be going with my husband and kid. Thanks

I think your friend should direct this question to BCU admission teams. They are absolutely in better position to give pro & cons of the offer. However, whatever decision agreed on can invariably keep as a future evidence after graduation. Best wishes!

Pls, what is your take on this issue ? A friend want to do top up master at BCU just for six months which is duration of the course. He has professional qualification which makes him to qualify for the course. But, his concern is all about whether he will be able to qualify for post graduate work permit since length of the program is not up to 12 months. Your comments on this will be appreciated.

Thank you for your commendation.
However, this is one of the advantages of being a naira lander. Yeah, opportunities is not limited to science oriented courses or engineering alone in UK. It's all depends on how creative, collectives and hunger to re -write stories, I got friends in management that got jobs in banking and NHS sparing from customers relationship, auditing, account officers and relationship manager.
Just be focus, prayer hard and work meticulously all shall be well in Jesus name.
Thank you.

Having gone through your comments on Nairaland so far, I will be more than happy if you can advise me on somethings. I want to take you as my guider/mentor. I am seriously confused on career decision. I am a social science student and the truth is, I am using this study route as a means to legally leave this country as I can't go to another man's land Illegally. But the problem I am having now is this, it seems there is no chance for a social science student to stay back after the PSW because all I have been seeing on this thread is just for science student.. I graduated there years ago, medway campus is close to Gillingham and Chatham. The campus is extremely excellent for study having situated longest library in Europe if am not mistaken. Drills library is sophisticated with diverse of textbooks and hi tech computers. The lecturers are seasoned and deliverables.
The environment is quite different from London in terms of bubbles but is Ok if you're not outgoings.
The cost of living is averagely ok, you can get nice apartment with moderate price but no jobs in that zone. You can only get few places to hustle in either Chatham or outskirts but nothing in Gillingham and medway. Above all, the university is strictly on studies they'll surely bombarded you with coursework. If you're going for Engineering course, I advised you to tighten your belts.
Feel free to ask more questions. Best wishes

Lilly211:
Hello house, I just got an offer from Greenwich university medway campus for January intake.. is there anyone currently in medway? Hello everyone!
God has been good! I’m on my way to work and decided to share this post to encourage someone to believe, be intentional and put in the hard work! My husband and I came in July to the uk, barely a month he got a professional job as an electrical design engineer. 3 months after I got a professional job as well as a mechanical design engineer. My company allowed me work 20 hours till after my masters then I can work full time with them. Wow can you believe it! I got a job while still at Uni. Infact 3 months at uni. It’s only God!
It wasn’t easy but God did it and He will surely do it for you!

You decisions to switched over from core STEM courses that can possibly give you an edges for Tier2, to project management programs is never a good deal. However, I understand that ATAS might be a bit delay to be release but then that is not enough reason for your deflection.
As a mechanical engineer in UK, if you're focus and collective there are lots of companies ranging from manufacturing, NHS utilities engineers, HVAC engineers, Airbus and Aerospace, maritime and general services engineers. Brexit has open doors for people like you to fill vacuum gaps if only you're resourceful. Above all, Project management fields are not limited to science oriented background alone, I got lot of friends from management who are also running up with this programs. Your major aim should be to transcend to tier 2 with less stress, if you're thinking of just going to UK for study without future plans then you've not chosen a better model of better future! Look beyond your nose.
mechoau:

Yes, you’re right it’s bcus of the course I choose. Most of the schools I got offer from requested for my ATAS certificate. But I wrote Northumbria University requesting if I can switch from MSc Mechanical Engineering to international project management and I was given unconditional offer less than 24 hrs after I mailed them. So I have turned off from Huddersfield and Hertfordshire to avoid delay in ATAS certificate.

I also applied to Middlesex last week on the 3rd of November and I was given unconditional offer today. Now I’m in between Middlesex and Northumbria University. But I’m looking at Northumbria which is 2000 deposit

Eya! I am so sorry for her conditions at present. It is quite unfortunate that lots of Nigerians failed to understand that UK education system is far different from Nigeria fire fighting approach to studies. They follow their calendar and academics dates and nothing can change a date. I think this case will serve as deterrent for others to learn from.
However, there is little light under the tunnels, if she decides to follow these principles.
Yes, having late few weeks to course starting date the university is afraid of losing their sponsor lienced, hence they're playing safe. I suggest she should just meet her programs leader and registers all her courses and assure the person in charge that she's ready to take up additional responsibilities in order to meet up with backlogs course work and assignments.
She can also negotiate for exams in replacement of any course works she has missed.

Shes in the UK now but the school wants to cancel his visa and wants her to defer her admission and also go back to Nigeria.

The person has his BRP card and student ID already.

What can she do?

She has spent a lot of money to come here and already paid for accommodations and everything

N.B: The funds will be in my Spouse's account.

Apart from my BRP, Enrollment letter , consent letter, Marriage and birth certificate .

Is there any other documents I should include?.

Can you kindly suggest to everyone possible ways of going about this without being burnt. However, the main applicant may decided to apply alone due to a lot of logistics reasons.
I urge all the experts in the house to deliberate more on this topic in order for us to learn from. After all, this is one of the benefits of this forum. God bless you all amen!

Goke7:

Once you indicate that your dependants are coming with you whether now or later you must show proof of funds to cover for everyone. If you go ahead and apply with your POF alone because they are not coming immediately, you will be given visa o but when your dependants will apply later is when jungle will mature. Your dependant will be asked to print your statement from the time you apply to the time your dependant applied. This is the case and question someone just asked if you go some pages back. Once they discovered that your funds as the main applicant have depreciated, the dependant will be denied and the main applicant visa cancelled. It has happened to people on this forum so be warned. Let no agent deceive you. Perhaps some folks escaped this before but the home office guys are not smiling these days as they suspect folks are moving funds from one account to another all in the name of POF.

I honestly doubted your claims. However, I understand that each UK universities has their admission rules and offers regulations. Having said that, I urged you to come out with evidence of those who have collected their CAS from university without presenting 28days financial statements. Cheers!
Rollitout:

Many applicants are unaware that when institutions request for POF it doesn't have to be POF generated in the last 28days, they just want to confirm if you've the required funds in your bank account before they can proceed to issue CAS, they will tell you to send financial document which you are going to send to the UKVI for visa.
So the POF in this case should be in the last few days even two days is enough.

The new ‘Graduate’ route will be open to all international students – including those from India – who have valid UK immigration status as a student and have successfully completed a course of study in any subject at undergraduate level or above at an approved UK Higher Education Provider. The visa will allow eligible students to work, or look for work, in any career or position of their choice, for two years after completing their studies.

This builds on UK government action to help recruit and retain the best and brightest global talent, as well as opening up opportunities for future breakthroughs in science, technology and research and other world-leading work that international talent brings to the UK.

Home Secretary Priti Patel said:

The new Graduate Route will mean talented international students, whether in science and maths or technology and engineering, can study in the UK and then gain valuable work experience as they go on to build successful careers.

It demonstrates our global outlook and will ensure that we continue to attract the best and brightest.

Sir Dominic Asquith, British High Commissioner to India, said:

This is fantastic news for Indian students, who will now be able to spend more time in the UK after completing their degree, allowing them to gain further skills and experience.

The UK is home to some of the best higher education institutions in the world and continues to welcome international students. I’m delighted that numbers of Indian students coming to study in the UK are constantly increasing, having doubled over the last three years. Last year alone we saw a massive 42% increase.

This exciting announcement will help ensure that the UK remains one of the best destinations for students across the world.

The UK welcomes genuine students from India and the rest of the world for the positive contribution they make to the UK. Indian student numbers have significantly increased over the last three years, reaching almost 22,000 in the year ending June 2019. This was a 42% increase on the previous year – and almost 100% higher than three years ago. In addition, 96% of all Indians who apply for a UK visa are successful – meaning the vast majority of those who wish to come to the UK are able to do so.

This announcement follows the creation of a new fast-track visa route for scientists and the removal of the limit on PHD students moving into the skilled work visa route, which collectively aim to cement the UK as a science superpower and a world-leader in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) sector. Almost half of all Indian students (almost 130,000 since 2008/9) heading to UK in the last ten years chose a STEM subject.

Further information
Often referred to as a ‘Post-Study Work visa’ in India, the new Graduate route will launch for the 2020/21 intake of students to university. After the two years, they will be able to switch onto the skilled work visa if they find a job which meets the skill requirement of the route. Further details will be announced in due course.

The visa will offer opportunities to work or look for work after graduating. However, unlike the route which closed in 2012, this new route will also include safeguards to ensure only genuine, credible students are eligible.

The status of each higher education institution will be shown in the register of licenced sponsors, which is publicly available on the GOV.UK website.

This follows a shake-up of immigration rules announced by the Prime Minister in August to encourage the world’s top scientists to move to the UK.

The UK has seen a strong increase in Indian student numbers in recent years. The latest available statistics are on the Home Office website. Specifically, in the year ending June 2019:

Almost 22,000 student visas were granted to Indian nationals – a 42% increase on the previous year and almost 100% higher than the year ending June 2016.

In addition, over 500,000 visit visas were granted to Indian nationals – more than 1 in 5 of all visit visas.

More than 56,000 Indians received skilled work visas – a 5% increase compared to the previous year, which is also the largest increase for any country.

The numbers of Indian students studying STEM subjects in the UK were provided by British Council from the HESA Student record 2007/08 - 2017/18. Data in original format is available on the HESA website.

Telling them is a turn off by some universities especially when they have gotten enough seats for your chosen course. I will rather advice you to diplomatically say No response to such rhetorical question after all they're not ECO that will determine your visa progress at that point. Just say No to avoid unnecessary stress and aftermath long stories!
However, you must declare all your visa refusals during your visa applications to UK Embassy, obviously they got templates and links to track your insincerity and misrepresentations. Wishing you best of luck in your precas interview!

With your explanations so far, I deduced you don't understand education platform that can give you CAS. Marine programs in UK is within 6months and in this case the maritime college in concerns will encourage you to apply for students visiting visa. However, having switched to online maritime programs because of your work you can only apply for 6months visitor visa in UK to sit for your academics subjects and Oral. Obviously, your visa was refused on basis of misrepresentation and inconsistent in applications.
CAS can only be issued to tier IV students visa on undergraduates or postgraduate studies not for short terms student visitor visa.
Pay the rest of your tuition and make enquiry from your college when you'll be writing your exams and ask for visa documents from college then apply for students visitor visa to write your exams and advanced training certification as the case maybe.
Best wishes!

I think your education gaps has called for this interview. Honestly, they want to know what you've been doing ever since your graduation, of course you're in best position to defend yourself if you're lucky to be employed.
However, there is no cause for alarms. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes!

Yes I have done the online video interview. It was a grueling 47 minute session were they asked all types of questions from why there was gap between my B.SC(2008) and 2021 when I want to start my M.Sc.
Below are the questions they asked me
1) My name, DoB and school I applied for study
2) Why I wanted to study at the school and why I chose the course
3) Reasons for my two previous visa denials in 2003
4) I should spell the name of my school.....Lol
5) How studying IT ( M.SC) would enhance my career prospects.
6) What I have been doing since 2009 when I finished study till now
7) They asked whether any of my family member has visited the UK before
cool They asked why I am traveling with my wife
9) They asked how much the tuition fees was and how much I have paid so far
10) They asked what I will do after studies etc
11) They asked if an agent helped me to process the admission or I did it myself. They asked for the name of the agent.

Overall, I figured out that they asked me for the video interview to clarify two main things which are the gap between B.Sc and MSc and two the reasons for the prior refusals in 2003.

After the whole session the female interviewee who is obviously an Indian born woman from her accent said Good luck that they would send a mail to me later in the day which I am still expecting.

I will employ everybody here to be well grounded in the whole process because nobody knows who could be called for interview at any time. Whatever the outcome is which I believe should be positive would be posted here when a decision has been made. Thank you
