Jobs/Vacancies / A Good Writer For A Fast Writing Task by Kul3ger(m): 5:09pm On Oct 14, 2021
As seen in the title.

My client requires 1500 words blog post. I have written over 1200 words already - though still in draft stage.

Why so?: Travelled without my PC. Staying longer than planned. And client needs the job sent quickly.

Basically, I need:
1. Good intro and summary (70+- words each should do)
2. Hyper linking to relevant pages within and outside client’s site.
3. Beef up, edit, and proofread the already written texts for better flow and engagement.

Access to Premium Grammarly is non-negotiable

TAT: BEFORE 11 PM today
Niche: Essential Oils

A couple of similar jobs should follow if well handled.

Remuneration: 3k

Politics / Re: Osinbajo Is Wrong About Pentecostal Tax by Kul3ger(m): 2:08pm On Sep 18, 2021
Standing5:
Tax is for funding government expenditures.
On another hand, government is a system of order for a nation, state, or another political unit. A government is responsible for creating and enforcing the rules of a society, defense, foreign affairs, the economy, and public services.

Let me try and explain government further before making my points. Imagine if the road from Lagos to Port Harcourt was under two different government of, let's say two provincial authorities. A Lagos government and a Port Harcourt government. There will be chaos when each govt attempt toll their own portion of the road differently. But with a central governnent, both sides can pay taxes to and allow a single set of rule to govern the use of the road. That is one key illustration of what government does. They help manage what different groups of people share in common.

Now going back to Osinbajo's request for Pentecostal tax from preachers. What preachers earn is primarily donated or willing contributed by followers who have been taxed by the govt. Any attempt at taxing preachers again on same monies will be double taxation. It will mean the govt is saying contribution of money into a pool before spending it is a form of earning. That isn't true and therefore Osinbajo was wrong.

So you sabi write, you no sabi read?

Abi na person mouth you for hear Prof. Speech?

You just open thread to embarrass yourself. Reading is important, comprehension is importanter

Oya close this thread before I bite you

Nigerians can be pathetic humans. If the job is not for you must you rubbish it? For your information, I have done this work for 13 years. And I have writers who have been with me for minimum of 5 years.

If the job is not for you, don't do it and stop acting stupidly.

I nor know who this mugu de talk to...just hope it's not me sha. Because the guy above me no spoil your business; he only gave details. For me, na advice I give you.

Besides, If you have been fuuling yourself, straight 15 years, does it mean you should be forever dum.b?

15 years after you're still paying people #1.7 per word and you de glory.

With this “We work with oyinbos and take this very seriously” the chances are that you're working for an American and receiving fat Cheques. Keep using Nigeria’s situation to enslave people.

Since there is no NDA, here goes. This' the reply I got from Mr Pierre Ojo:

Details of the job

The pay is 200k a month. You will be asked to write 5 articles per day, or 3750 words ( each article is a minimum of 750 words ) per day 30 days a month. However, many atimes you will be asked to write 1500 words articles and when this happens, it means you have written 2 articles as 1500/750 = 2.

You may need to write 3000 words articles as well, bottom line is, you get 200k once you have written 112500 words worth of articles - Please note that we pay every 2 weeks. This means you get 100k every two weeks once you have completed at least 56250 words of articles ( which means two weeks of work ).

And if you complete your 56250 words earlier than 2 weeks you get your 100k.

As we continue the work you get bonuses here and there and salary increment when necessary

I got something similar....

You want people to write 4k words EVERYDAY and you want top performance?

Worse, “and is able to write on all niches.”

Are the promoters actually writers? Do they understand what it means to write up to 4k words DAILY?--up to 5 articles, different topics, different niches!

Not just a simple rewrite o. F**king research and write!

And apparently, they expect flawless deliveries.

Mr. Employer, Your 300k sure looks enticing....but try break it down. Make I help una:
112500words for #200,000 equals about #1.8 per word.

Still better than the less-than-#1-per-word niggies.

But after your workers work for one week, body go tell them...productivity may likely decline.

If you desire industry-standard quality deliveries, i’ll advise:

1. reduce the daily word-count expectation and get more hands...people have to split their 24 hours across several engagements. Besides, rest de necessary for more productivity.

Possibly, give days off. One or two. Perhaps weekends.

2. And, possibly, recruit on niche-by-niche basis. I mean, get medical writers for medical contents, pet writers handle pet-themed contents, travel for travel, tech goes to tech.

3. Get-what-you-pay-for is a reality in the freelance writing space. Up your rate a bit - convert promised incentives into remuneration.

....abeg, I don tire...watin concern me sef.

Godspeed o!!!

Business / Re: I Just Rented A New Shop by Kul3ger(m): 1:52am On Sep 18, 2021
Okay, I understand cases where you have to quickly “secure” the place before it's taken --- particularly in potential high-traffic areas.

But then, it seems you’re giving too few details. You may need to say more about yourself, perhaps:

Qualification/expertise/skill/passion
Budget
Store location
Etc

In fact, e be like you never ready. When 6 months for the rent don go, you go come back with better details.

You carry money rent shop, rent don de count, yet you never even know watin you wan sell. Where una for de see this money.

Kuku put one chair, table and fan there make you de see “office” go every morning na.

We also plan on not having to request for documents or certifications of any sort, basically any Nigerian who can speak and write english with good placements can work with us. What do you think?

While certifications/documentations may be an edge, a good portfolio with great samples is well enough to inform your hiring decisions - I think.

It depends on the gig description.

Generally, on the international freelance writing space, I’d say it’s a competitive rate.

But where I’m from, I’ve never seen heard a Nigerian hirer offer a Nigerian writer such a sumptuous meal.

Here, you’ll hear:

“top-notch, detailed, well-researched, international industry-standard, SE-Optimized, Native-English, Premium Grammarly and Copyscape Pass, express delivery”
Baba, At what rate? #1.2 cry cry

TheGidRedpiller, If this offer goes beyond just a survey, then thumbs up!!!

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Finally, I Left My Job For Freelancing! by Kul3ger(m): 12:18pm On Aug 26, 2021
ZiiVentures:
I'll be resigning in the from my work place to venture into Freelancing full time. Why?

Because my work is so stressful. It's 6:04am and I'm already late for work. I'll be at the work place doing tedious work till 7:30pm. I'll have to be standing till that evening time of the day. It's a one man business and I risk being fired any time. From March to August, I've been able to save 55k. I don't do it drinks. Neither do I smoke or buy expensive things for myself. Well, yes. I don't have a girlfriend. So saving 55k portrays how zealous I am with the savings with the little I earn. Now, I'm facing a health challenge: a back and waist pain. So I want out.

Planning on focusing on the Freelancing route.

My worry now is, am I making the right decision?

I need your advice. What would you do if you were to be me?

To be or not to be?

I love your courage. You shouldn't regret your decision; but only if:

1. You already have a good background in freelancing
2. You're already earning or have some ‘fullproof’ method to marketing your skills
3. You have enough money to stay unhungry and foot your bills until your new path can sustain you

To add: if 55k is all you can boast of, you may hold a bit and further grow your savings.

Why so? Because you can't bank on people's screenshots you see online. While there are millions to be made from any online freelancing concept, you should also consider the common possibility of not having a client for days or weeks (maybe months sef) - even your [sincere] tutors will tell you so.

Another advice:
if you wish to depend solely on your 55k, then get a GOOD mentor (who you can confirm lives off freelance writing -- not those ebook sellers) that understands your situation and willing to hold you tight by the hand through until you stand unaided ( many out there are just looking for newbies to rip off with stupid recycled materials and inspirational quotes)..

With a practical mentor, you go quick break through. Besides, If you never start get personal jobs, him fit even pity you de outsource to you just to keep body and soul meanwhile.

But In all, bro, I envy and solidly support your decision. And since you no de drink, smoke, and no get girlfriend, you be like who go quick make am. Lol(jokes).

Welcome boss. Wish you Godspeed!
