lanrubi:I don't do Cotonou cars. First of all, i think the price you are willing to pay is unrealistic at all. 650k for a Direct Belgium is not feasible. A first Grade 96 Camry will be in the neighborhood of about 800k. Plus or minus. Also, you might wanna consider going to Lagos and getting the car that you wanted and driving it back to PH yourself. Or better still pay someone part of the money to bring form Cotonou to Lagos. Balance the payment in Lagos, then drive home. You are not different from everyone else. Everybody wants the exact car they want for what they want to pay at their doorstep. As much as its a good deal for you, it doesn't always seem possible. You will be waiting for a long time. Sorry to wake you up from your slumber. Just my thought. Good luck in your search. |

Godswill_u:[b]Why didn't you buy an auto transmission in the first place? Both of them are so different in their operation that although its technically possible, its not financially feasible. You wont be able to afford it. The auto transmission to begin with has its own "brainbox" called the transmission module. This is the one that is programmed to change the transmission on its own as you drive. On top of that, it works with the brainbox of the car itself. They are "talking" to each other. everytime you accelerate/decelerate, the petrol distribution is changing from the feedback. On top of that is other components like transmission cooler (which is routed to the base of the radiator). So you will need to change all necessary hardware and connections, reprogram your brainbox and other electronics components on the car. Plus you pray that it all works out. Is it possible? Yes! Can you afford it? I don't think so! Why did i say so? I think you bought this car cos its cheap or so. But at the back of your mind you know that you really want an auto gear. Now you wanna double back to get what you really wanted without paying a lot of money. It doesn't work like that. You can't afford the conversion. Or just sell this one, and buy an automatic gear car. I can't understand. Why you are so hell bent on an auto gear anyway? If so why buy this one in the first place? Its like getting involved/marrying a girl and later start complaining that you don't like her height or tribe  Why? ! Why? !! why?!!![/b] 2 Likes |

^^^^ Bunmzie:Without me seeing the car, the call is a little hard. There are few concerns i have about the car: 1. Owners 2 and 3 only has the car for 10days and 8 months respectively. Kinda Baffles me. That's rather too short to keep a Toyota except if they are resellers. Or the obvious:The car is problematic. I'm not sure. 2. Although the transmission was rebuilt in 03/072008, RAV4 between 2001-2003 are rather prone to transmission issues. So there's is no telling if this problem will not return or not. For my money this is what i will do: 1. Will rather go for something like a highlander of same year (prepare to spend up to N2.2m) 2. Better go for like a 2004 RAV4 (No transmission issues for that year. Only be careful on 2001-2003). Be prepared to spend like N2.2m for a 2004 also. If you have to get this one, don't offer more than N1.8m. And that is rather being very generous. Good luck in your search. |

uchnog:The car had accidents in 2005 and 2007. Looks like it happened with the same owner who still kept the car till 2009. I will ASSUME that it was fixed. How well/properly fixed? That's a guess. I will advise you to do a thorough inspection with a mechanic. Watch out for driveability issue and make sure that the price is worth it. Otherwise look for another car. Good luck. |
