I'm into IT too...developing myself as a software engineer now...I love programming too...in fact ,I might still go that path of being a full software Engineer or have my master done in Aeronautics God willing.

There is no lie in what you just said... That's how uniben is...as an intelligent student, they make you feel stupid... There are these set of us ,highly intelligent friends, scoring close to 300 in jamb and guess what! a guy with 279 or 289 in jamb had extra year,a friend of mine,very intelligent as well spent almost 3 extra years in pharmacy, my brother, I saw many things I can't start writing about now...highly intelligent people was just treated as if they don't know what they are doing.

Your supposed academic effort in UNIBEN which isn't tandem with your output is normal for most public Nigerian universities. I remember writing a course in 400l, engineering then in UNIBEN that having a C is equivalent to having an A in joy, whereas carry over is the order of the day. 2,1 is like water these days, even first class. BSc is like a primary school certificate everyone now has, masters or masters(in view) soon would be the new minimum criteria with the way recruiters are going. Results shouldn't define you, even though it's a platform to give you an opportunity to be aired and prove your skills, what your intelligence is loaded with is the key. Many graduates aren't even doing what they read from school, some went to different fields, some are into businesses and doing well. So your grade shouldn't define your altitude. My HOD in school had a third class and he's a consultant to an oil firm prior to my graduation, so why the low morale? Map out your plans and set your priorities.

If it is now that your HOD is a goner oo,he won't even be given the opportunity to lecture or to probably develop himself to that level

Hmmm,uniben that year...years back ,I was an engineering student... It wasn't an easy thing despite being a serious student all the way...My friend in maths faced a lot!,many years after before he could graduate, I am a first class student to everyone seeing my quality outside oo, but the school just do anyhow.

Things are really bad in this country, those private schools in the country are really making fortunes from this...The parents too have hands in it knowing what they're paying for at the point of registration.. The students of this present generation are just something else,a lot of them are not serious because of exam malpractice. You'll be teaching ss3 students and be asking yourself how on Earth did they make it here...Funny enough ,they will later show you their results with A1 and tell you master I made all my papers...You'll be like what!...I remember teaching Physics and Chemistry in their tutorial centre for jamb that year,more than 95% of them were not serious!... Probably they new they were going to pass...If you know the level malpractices in waec and jamb you'll weep for this country, leaders are not concerned cause they're guilty...waec officials do their negotiations on amount to collect before exam would commence!
