@Eko Ile, you may add National Stadium @ Surulere join. That one worse pass National Stadium @ Abuja. Both are pure example of Nigeria's lack of maintenance.
they will intentionally run it down and vote for 100b to renovate.

dougivilla: So d Buharis, Tinubus and Atikus of Nigeria should continue to rule over us? Is that northern or eastern style democracy? At what point are we supposed to start asking for a change by your own calender?
i only mentioned Buhari, why these other guys?
You are better off doing a comparative study of democracy of a similar country that has or had lootocrats as leaders and the issue was resolved.

2500 years ago, before Jesus was a born, a man was asked who could lead a country in a situation like ours.
He said a man with honour, such position is meant usually for military men, those who can venture into most difficult tasks.

Not APC but BUHARI

PoliticsRe: Lets Move Beyond Buhari And Co by kunlekunle: 3:54am On Apr 07, 2013
dougivilla: Maybe you should re-read a section of what you stated earlier implying that ONLY Buhari had the solution to Nigeria's problems. I have nothing against him for not believing in us, but so much against some of us that refuse to look beyond our noses. If we have Identified Ribadu according to you as an alternative, what stops us from encouraging him, rallying round him and giving it a try @ d polls. Its better to try and fail than not trying, and giving excuses. Buhari and all old war horses should steer clear, simple. And in anycase, if they see that they don't have the support of youths, like you and I, they will naturally pull out. They are going in because they believe that we will always be manipulated. And we keep giving them reasons to so believe!
Dont let the western type of democracy shroud your reasoning, they are managing a developed democracy.
We are still in the embryonic stage, such demcracy requires protection from someone that can provide it.
Ribadu is just a techie in his discipline, when the lion roars he'll chicken out.

greaterlove: haba, this story dey somehow, $210billion in five years? i no talk say abacha no steal money, but my question na how much was nigeria getting yearly between 1993-1998 that abacha would have stolen $210billion or did they mean $21billion?
if NOI inherited 2b from the previous govt, and the reserve now stands at 42-43b which was from accountable source.
What do you expect in 5 years with accountability.
450b i'll say.

Nightshift: Toyota loving guy, you are wrong on this one! In Porsche's homeland of Germany, it would be a political suicide for a German politician using any Porsche models as an official car. Why should it be otherwise in a 3rd world Nigeria? We must learn to live within our means..
wetin be your advice to innoson?
PoliticsRe: The African Economic Revolution by kunlekunle: 8:42am On Apr 04, 2013
esere826: Another excellent presentation
Digging deeper, we'll find that this a chicken and egg situation
Corrupt and ineffectual leaders come from corrupt and ineffectual people
Corrupt and ineffectual leaders create corrupt and ineffectual people
..a viscious cycle

But interestinly, its easier to change one person than a group of 10
in the same vain demanding accountability from a small leadership class making up not more than .5% of the population
should be easier than converting the entire Nigerians

All we need in Nigeria right now is for one person at the top (the president) to be a fast striking change agent
With our present political structure, he can only get there by mistake
..similar kind of mistake that brought Jonathan, a minority, to power
I'll model nigeria against russia.
when yeltsin was president, corryptions and all anomalies in the country was exposed, he was infact like GEJ.
When putin became president reverse was the case.
So the next president shouldnt be by mistake, it should be someone who knew the problem and has researched the solution. we dont need a rookie or trainee president.
PoliticsRe: The African Economic Revolution by kunlekunle: 4:11pm On Apr 03, 2013
esere826: I couldnt have said it better
(Did u watch Isha sesays interview with Amata (the producer)?

When he said Nollywood meant not hollywood u cld see that Isha was taken aback that she didnt find this out
This information wasn not easilly available to the general public)

How come our universities dont churn out research and publications on striving industries in Nigeria?
The dons are aparently a product of a dismal educational system that do not see the need to research and institutionalize Nigeria's potentially thriving industries

so so copy and paste
U are spot on this issue you raised,
but we need to understand that the type education given by the colonial master is theoretical in nature. We need a practical education that will enable us comptete globally.
Most of our uni lecturers are outdated.

All European countries were at this atage some 250years back, till they attained the age of reasoning.
Its pure ideological reawakening.
