You are right about the girl child. I had my girl at almost 41weeks via induction. My boy came at 35wks 6days.

MY BIRTH STORY

I honestly do not know where to start but I hope I'll be able to make some sense at the end of this story tho.

I figured out I was pregnant in October when we travelled for a function in Lagos. And as a result of the challenges my husband and I were facing we agreed we wouldn't keep it. We had concluded we weren't ready for a second child and so.. I visited our doctor there for an abortion. It was successful (IMO) and when we returned to Abuja we carried on with our lives.

Fast forward to November, I didn't see my monthly visitor (he wasnt even in town so i wasn't sexually active) I went for a scan and I was Pregnant!!!! Okay... I accepted it in good fate.

Then in December my husband and I were having a discussion, he mentioned some of the issues he was currently facing with his car and inability to sell our house in Kuje. He needed money to fix the car so he could work and be able to cater for me and the kids. He wanted me to borrow some money from fairmoney for him and he'd pay back in February when the house is sold. I had concerns, first the money was a lot and the interest rate was high but he wasn't bothered. I proceeded and then wired it to his account.

December 26th, I found out my husband was preparing to go settle down with someone else, A girl he had denied knowing. I was devastated. This was where my depression set in. I was suicidal from the 3rd month of this pregnancy till the 6th month. I somehow got a Job when I was 5 months gone but stopped 2 months later.

I wasn't feeding well, I couldn't concentrate, taking my routine tabs was an issue, Living was hard and all I wanted was Death. I would question God, why me? I would starve the whole day, I fed once a day Sometimes.. Nothing seemed interesting but my son.. He was always looking out for Mummy.

Third trimester, I was getting used to being strong. Everything else was going well till we arrived the month of May. I wanted to give birth at 37 weeks for some reasons. That week came, passed, nothing! So did 38 week to 40 weeks. I was becoming depressed all over again. How do I tell this baby that I had a ton of bills and responsibilities on my shoulders, remaining in my stomach wasn't helping at all.

I resolved to seeking measures to induce labour. I did the little I could,yet nothing happened. Sunday morning, I woke up crying. I was tired, and fed up. My mums caretaker had called to say he was out of Patience and won't be giving any more grace and my mum was already tired of having me and my son. I knew what she was going through and didn't want to keep staying at home and so I went to church with my son. I got back feeling better, 12pm contractions started. And because I was used to them I didn't take it seriously but it persisted till 3pm so I went to the hospital and pleaded with them to check me. They did, and I was 4cm dilated!

I was super excited! Little did I know it was going to be a longgggggggg ride.. I was alone, and in pains 🥺 till 7pm when my sister came then mum came later. Indeed not all pregnancies are same. Long story cut short, I gave birth around 3am after a long fight. It wasn't easy but we give Glory to God.

I've burnt my boots tho.. Safe delivery to every preggy mama! God will see y'all through

I am so sorry for all you went through but I know and believe God will not leave you to suffer. Look up to him always and you will come out victorious very soon.

If we have ten thousands tongues, it will not be enough to praise the Lord Almighty. We thank you for your grace and mercy, we appreciate your loving kindness over us all, we praise your name because you are God and you changeth not. Thank you for counting us worthy to be called mothers, thank you for blessing our wombs with wonderful children, thank you for our families and we bless you for all our beautiful children.

My prayers for us all is that we shall never bury our children, they shall be pillars of truth, favour and grace in our society, they shall always make us proud and they shall always be the coolness of our hearts and eyes in Jesus name.

Not a May Mama but a May Papa. However I can share as mama not so active here. It’s been wonderful.
Although he started night vigil about 10 days ago now. We suspect he might have folic. His stomach continues to make sounds. We’re giving him gripe water but not sure it’s helping. He just has the nights discomforts. Also I noticed he wakes up by ~5am daily now.
It’s been interesting anyways. Having a child puts more perspective into a lot of things. We’re grateful for him (and the Wahala)

God bless you real good sir, thank you for being supportive to mama. Colic na very bad something ooo, my eyes saw shege with my baby but things are getting better. One thing I learnt that soothe them a lot is hot water massage, I massage with not too hot water and it relieve him a lot. God blessings on you and your family sir.

I've put to bed ooo!!! Ivan was birthed around few minutes past 3am. Truly God was and is Gracious to me! And Yes! He doesn't look anything like what I had feared.

Thank you very much ma. I was at the hospital today to plead with them to induce me, the nurses on duty said they can't because their colleagues at the ANC haven't authorised them. So they asked that I return on Tuesday (Monday being Puplic Holiday)

In order not entertain fear, All I do now is Mutter prayers and Visualise Victory. I guess I'd be fine. I'm actually just returnin g from a long road walk. It's well

It is better safe than sorry mama. If you must induce, don't self-induce pls

Do not despair mama. The Lord is by your side. Instead of trying to self-induce, why don't you request for induction at the hospital.

I gave birth some minutes after 12am exactly on my edd...the show.came when the head was near and my water.bag ruptured while I was pushing not sure if it was the nurse that ruptured it sha...I named him Eriifeoluwasimi because I can't say all I went through in this pregnancy both spiritually,emotionally, physically and health wise.

Continuation.

A day before my delivery, I went for antenatal, I was already 36 weeks 1 day, I haven't done scan to ascertain the baby's position, I asked the doctor, she said next week, 37th week. After antenatal I stayed back at my husband's office, I was given mattress,I had a little cramp that didn't last long, I guess that was when my labour started.

I went home that day, the next day, I woke up went to wee, before I could wee, water came out, I thought it was urine, not knowing my water has broken, I went about my normal duties. Sewing, I pedalled my machine till evening, I was just having little discomfort, sweating than normal and frequent urination, and mild menstral pain, one mind was telling me it was labour, another was telling me its suppose so be painful na.

On my way home, I called my husband to tell my doctor that I want to branch the hospital, that i'm having little cramps, doc. said I should go home and relax, and take paracetamol, that its stress. If it continues after 2hours i should come to the hospital.

At about 9pm i asked my husband we start going to the hospital, though no much pain. When we got there, they did scan, and the radiographer said i'm in labour that my baby's head has engaged already.

I went to labour ward the nurse checked and said 8cm, (that checking was so painful meeen, ) after checking that was when I knew I was in labour.

I got to the hospital at about 10, Gave birth, 11:27, I had multiple tears, after placenta came out I started bleeding, they couldn't handle the situation, at about 1am, I was rushed to ubth, the stitches that was done was lossened and restitched, I was in pain all through, pain killer didn't work, I was given a total of 6blood, mostly freshly donated blood. In all in give God all the Glory. We came out victorious.

Thank God the devil failed over you and your baby. How are you and our princess doing? Testimony shall never cease in our households in Jesus name.

The pregnancy was quite eventful, it was nothing like my previous pregnancies. I had severe morning sickness that runs all through the day in my first trimester. I didn't even know on time that I was pregnant because I had hung my booth after having my second son, so when the symptoms started, I was busy treating malaria despite a missed period 😂😂😂 I didn't do dating scan as I wasn't sure of myself, infact I started antenatal after 20weeks. I was sick all through first and second trimester with little or no support as we have just relocated far away from family and friends, it wasn't an easy ride at all but God remains faithful.
By 35th week, I started feeling on/off contractions and I was confident I would have her in the comfy of my home, infact I picture her delivery to be like a movie 😂😂 but God has another plan for me. I was officially tired of being pregnant but something in me keeps kicking against the idea of self induction, I just have to pull through one way or another even though I wasn't really sure of my exact due date (I've been following growth scan). So on the day of my last antenatal appointment, my midwife noticed that the baby wasn't well presented so she sent me in for scan. I got to maternity assessment and scan did showed that baby was transverse with her cord dangling below, so I was admitted for monitoring.
When the doctor came to discuss my options with me, he said they could try to turn baby into the right birthing position but they have to be careful because of the dangling cord and since baby is full term and already weighs 3.3kg, our best bet is to carry out a CS to avoid any unwanted stories. So I was prepared for the next morning but before then, another scan was done and this time baby is head down so I told the midwife to break my water so I could try virginal birth which she did. I went into labor almost immediately, I labored for more than 12hrs yet baby didn't engage. I was worried because I've never labored that long before. The surgery team were already telling me I have limited time to try, they need me and baby alive, after a while I had to give in then we proceed to the theater. Alas, the cord was wrapped round her neck and even tied a knot 😩😔 in all I give glory to God for completing what He started!!! Baby and I are recovering well and healing daily. I hereby hang my booth permanently for the last time in the name of God the father, of the son and of the holy spirit ❤️ baby dust to all GTC mothers

I had already typed my BS last week and it somehow disappeared 😰

Anyways, so my pregnancy was smooth from the beginning, my morning sickness wasn’t so bad I was basically okay but 3rd trimester came with it’s own stress, the heaviness and I was eating so much around the 8th month😁😁and I also noticed that my feet was swelling and everyone I asked said it was because I was close to my due date. On the 2nd of May, when I woke up, I noticed that my face was very swollen and in my mind I just knew that wasn’t normal, I called the hospital and they asked me to come so they can check it & one of my aunts said it’s normal & that is how she always gets swollen when she’s almost due & I shouldn’t go to the hospital just yet.

As a first time mom, i agreed and thought I was probably overreacting and I just chilled since I had my midwife appointment on the 4th, I decided to wait till the 4th.

On getting to my midwife, she tested my urine & she said I had alot of protein in my urine- protein +++ & she checked my BP which was also extremely high so she told me to go to the hospital immediately, I went home & carried my bag just in case but I felt fine just heavy and very tired. On reaching the hospital, they did a repeat test and took my blood and when the results came back they said I had preeclampsia and that they had to take my baby out that day. They said they were going to try to regulate my blood pressure and if it comes down, they’ll induce me but if it doesn’t they were going to take the baby out via CS.

So, they started pumping me with blood pressure medication, the BP did not come down and so they said I had to make a decision for the CS, I told them I felt okay and begged to come back if they would release me because I wasn’t ready..they refused & said it would be risky for me & my baby as it was already affecting my kidney…I just thank God, my prince was born 5:53pm on Thursday the 4th of May and we are both doing fine,taking it one day at a time. (This BS is for me and segxi-that’s hubbys account & the correct DOB is 4th of May.
