Wale,
You can either make payment into the account. Then call them up to book an appointment.
Or
Book an appointment. Then pay into the account.
Take the teller with you.

Infact, you can do electronic transfer into the account. Print the proof of payment and take along with you.

‘Sponsor’ in this context means whose account the evidence of funds is.
Siblings can transfer ALL the required funds into applicant’s account.

Thank you, I did my masters in Nigeria. I already tried convincing them, I attached a letter from my school certifying I was taught in English for both my bachelors and master's degree, and also attached my WAEC certificate showing I had C5 in English. But the Research office insists I do not meet their English Language requirements, I'm thinking English Language requirements may be different for taught and research programs. I will try other schools.

You want to move a PhD studies from one school to scout other schools because of IELTS?

Out of curiosity:
What is your proposed PhD in, please?
I might be able to make more informed comments.

STENON:
Lot of job opportunities coming to Scotland after brexit.

Those jobs in Scotland may only be available to folks with good degrees. Not folks who went for shitty degrees in ‘locations with availability of student jobs’

Besides STENON, it seem like you don’t watch/listen to Ian Blackford and Nichola Sturgeon

Go for great courses.
Go for ‘marketable’ course.
You want to premise your decision on availability of ‘student jobs’ (which will hardly pay you more than £12ph) and you can only work 20 hours per week.

Then you end up with a shit degree. Then you now return to other Nairaland threads to say the UK is not a good destination for studies because they did not ‘retain’ you with a Tier-2 job.

Think. Think well. Think again.
Availability of ‘student jobs’ should NEVER be your number 1 consideration.

yea there have been lot of jobs out here especially Care and support jobs. You will surely find something doing out here if you aren’t lazy! Middlesbrough is very cheap mehn! I can say it’s even cheaper than some part in Nigeria! You can get a very good apartment for 180 pounds per month which is less than 100k! Food items are considerably cheap too. When you start earning in pounds things will be more cheaper for you considering when you still spending the Naira u brought from Naija because every small thing u buy u go dey convert am and it would be very expensive in your eyes. In all Middlesbrough has been awesome for the couple of weeks I have used here so far.

A very good APARTMENT.
A very good ROOM in a flatshare?
Apartment?
£180 pcm?
Wow!!!

Update on my earlier post.
Thank you for the advices. However, All is now Well. My husband called the person that linked the agent to him and after so much arguments and fights, the agents later came clean.
He said he didn’t make or use any forged certificate. He said he got schools that accepts HND but because he knew my husband didn’t know much about it, he lied to him so as to collect more money.
He presented some evidence and it was sorted.
However, the 500k paid to the agent cant be gotten back.

P.S: The agent said he knew there was no way my husband will have gotten away with the fake certificate and transcript he didn’t even bother making one as he didn’t even know how to.

Please, does anyone have information of any school that allows up to 4 and above installments payments?

Lots of schools do.
Lots of others don’t.
My advice for you:
Select your dream course of interest first.
Apply to the school(s) that offer the course.
Get the admission(s).

Then take it up from there.

Some schools are fast, some are slow.
It all depends on the school, the season and how busy the admission team folks are.

Ladybeemii:
This is to encourage someone.

I have been denied US visa 4 times, Canada 2, UK 1 while my husband UK once and US 3 times.

He applied for UK study visa on the 16th of January, priority, they proved his, mine and our son yesterday, 22nd January. Abuja visa office.

Let’s use this platform to educate ourselves a little bit.
EVERY, and I mean EVERY visa application is treated on its own merit.

The correlation between previous denials and subsequent denials or granting is usually over-stated.

Refusals are usually accompanied by reasons (explanation) for the decision. If those reasons are addressable , and addressed, acceptance usually follows.

Please can some one answer this for me , I want to apply for a study visa tier 4. A friend is advising I do super priority because there won’t be any interview and it’s the fastest . I am considering the regular visa fee or at least the priority. Apart from the processing time for these three , please what’s is the difference in terms of interview . Thanks all

Come.
Let me pray for you.

O Allah I beseech thee, on behalf of my brother Knytred.
Keep him away from Lazy Nigerian Youth friends.
O Allah, take away unseriousness from his heart.
O Allah, take away laziness and fear from his mind
O Allah, put in him courage of someone who wishes to cross continents for higher education.
Thank you Allah for hearing our prayers.

Bissimillahi ramanu raheem...

Your want to spend ~NGN 1,000,000:00 for superpriority simply because you want to dodge the interview?

When you complete your UK education and apply for a Tier-2 UK job and you are shortlisted. Or when you return to NAIJA after bagging your UK-Degree and NNPC or CBN invites you for job interview. What will you do? Use Supersonic-Hyper-Priority so as to dodge that interview too?
Na wa ohhh....

Now let me advise you:
Read the last 20 pages of this thread. A lot of people have put up the questions they were asked during the tier-4 visa interview. Look at those questions. Then ask yourself if a potential Masters student should be scared of those questions.
Then, show your friend the questions. And tell your friend never to give you such devilish advice again.

Salaam...

3. School admission letter print-out ( honestly you may not need this, but have it handy.

BTA:
As much money as you can carry. Check the money laundering Act and declare any excess cash (I’m not very sure, but Any cash in excess of £5,000 Should be declared).

I can sense the level of your reasoning so I won’t bother myself about you.
I asked a question and included *Please, no insult* so that someone like you would be given heads up but you failed.

When you saw the post and you didn’t have anything reasonable to type, you should have ignored so as to avoid making a fool of yourself as you are doing now.

Dear Tobi0803,
If I were you, I would stop disgracing myself in public.
You wanted Nairalanders to give you assurance after perpetrating what you did?

How can someone come to an open forum and stylishly ask for a validation of silly-ness then embellish the question with ‘no insults please’.
You wanted to insult our intelligence, you ended up insulting yourself, and instead of hiding your face in shame, you are here blabbing.

Fellow Nairalanders: please always follow the Tier-4 visa rules. Don’t be like Tobi0803 who clearly broke the rules, then rushed to this thread to seek validation and assurance.
Follow the rules and you will never go wrong.

Good day seniors, please I need your advice. I got phd admission at northumbria uni Newcastle as a self sponsored student but later the uni I work with here in naija approved my study fellowship with tetfund scholarship. Now my dilemma is that when applying for visa do I state that I am govt or self sponsored? Considering that northumbria uni informed me that they no longer enter sponsorship agreements with Nigerian govt. They however asked me to pay my deposit (which I did) as it will be refunded to me after tetfund pays my fees. They have already issued my cas (it states that I am self sponsored).

P.s
There is a tuition fee discount of 3k for self sponsored students. Which of the fees should I put in my visa application?

@justwise @lagosismyhome @zoey1

How are TETFUND funds released in your work place?
In some workplaces that I know, the ENTIRE total amount of money (3 or 4 year tuition and maintenance estimate and every every ) is deposited into your Naira account by the workplace.
Is that the case with your workplace?

If yes, then you could be ‘technically’ self-sponsored (in the eye of the school and UKVI).
I am guessing the point your uni raised about not accepting Nigerian Govt-sponsored students is probably because of past experiences.

Simply put:
Is TETFUND paying you per session or you are getting a bulk payment?

Most landlords will accept council tax letter from uni with ur data page of international passport and a month rent deposit. Try gumtree, SpareRoom or even fb market place for vacancies in ur area.

You can also get references from your student union rep or personal tutor in uni

It’s a bit more complicated than that.
Given that he is not looking for a room (in a flat share) but is looking to rent a whole property ...given he said he has dependants.

Please those who travel with dependants to the UK. How do you sort out accommodation issues. I've been having issues for two months now trying to let. How do I pass credibility , referencing and affordability checks . I don't have a credit history bc I'm new in the Uk and my partner is yet to get a job for the Affordability checks. Pls advise is needed on how to quickly secure a job and sort out housing issues too
Cc: justwise

If you were alone, there may be some way around it (such as flat shares) that don’t really care much about referencing.
But with dependants, it’s a completely different ball game, as you are probably aiming for a full property.

1. You don’t require a credit history to rent. You require credibility.
2. You must proof to a potential landlord that you have the funds to afford the rent.

3. Your best (and easiest bet) right now is to get a guarantor. Someone who will guarantee that you pay all rents as at when due.
The downside of this is that the guarantor will be required to show his/her financial ‘muscle’ and may sometimes involve a credit check (and many folks don’t like having hard credit checks on their files).

4. If you don’t have a guarantor, your next best (worst actually) bet may be to pay rent upfront for the duration of your tenancy contract.

5. You might get lucky (very rare) and connect to a landlord directly who will understand your plight. But this is very rare.

By ‘this January’ you meant January 2020?
We are already 5 days into January. You sure you didn’t mean January 2021?

No pregnancy test is required.
TB chest X-ray is all that is required.

Good news is: you might still be able to have chest x-ray even while you are gravid.
Make sure you reveal your pregnancy to the radiography folks though.

Okay. Thanks.
I still think something bigger, much bigger is lurking underneath your question.
That statement about your inability to ask a commercial bank to give you YOUR statement of account .... that statement is extremely fishy... very very fishy... and you yourself you know it is fishy.

I am not an ECO, but if I’m running a company, and have seen thousands and thousands of account statements from Nigeria in the course of my job. Suddenly, I now see an account statement from some ‘funny-sounding MFB’ I will definitely flag it.

Hello gurus in the house.

Please is it possible for my spouse to apply same time with me as my dependent on my Tier 4 visa.

If Yes/No, what are the processes.

I will appreciate your quick response.

Thank you.

Yes it’s possible.
The process is the same as yours.
The rate limiting factor for most is usually the maintenance funds. But if you have already covered that then you can apply at the same time.
O your form, you select visa category as tier-4 (General)
On your spouse’s own, they select tier-4 (dependant).
In your application, you answer YES where asked if you are traveling with any dependants. You input your spouse’s details in the next set of questions...etc
I’m your spouse’s application, they input your details as the main holder.

Simple as A..B..C

Happy New Year
