Bros I some cases they do ask the source of the money and what is the occupation of the person that give u the money. when you go through this thread from 2018 to 2019 u will notice that some people that got their visa was asked such question. I will advise every new applicants here to go through this very thread from 2018 till date you will learn a lot.you will also get to know the type of questions to expect for the interview. Tier 4 UK student visa is very straight forward and clear.

You are right. They may ask for the source.
All you need to do is be sure if what to say.
In as much as the money is in your name, you can mention that it is your money. Or it was given to you by your parents. Make sure you make it clear that it is Your money, and it is available for your use in the UK.

A brother travelled last year to the UK and is married. The wife who is widely travelled but presently resides in Nigerian wishes to join him in the UK until the duration of his program. He is currently studying an undergraduate program in Nursing. I'll like to know what route he can take to have his wife visit him. Your opinions and suggestion regarding this would be highly appreciated.

Warm regards to you all.

Thank you so much, I got an unconditional offer last month and I was told that I can only request for CAS before 3 months from the course start date (by calculation, that would be JUNE) and I was told to make a deposit before August 13 (by my calculation, I know I have to make a deposit before JUNE) so that I will be allowed to request for CAS and then proceed to Tier 4 (General) student visa (and I know that the earliest I can apply for a visa is 3 months before my course start date). The reason why I have not paid is because of this pandemic and I don't know how long it will last else I will write to the school and shift it to January.

So with your explanation up there, if the money is in my account NOW that means there is no issue since it is stated that at least 28 days and I will just print my statement whenever I am ready.

If the money is there right now, that’s fine. Very fine and ok.
But know that it will need to be there from now, til the visa is out and it’s available for you to use in the UK.
That’s what Rule says.

Lol, why did you just jump into conclusion like that. Nawa óò. I'm not even trying to send any money out because it will be in my account even when I get there. The money that would be in my account is even more than what I'm supposed to put there. I'm only asking how they are going to track my bank statement if I print it before hand.

Yes. You can print it before hand. But don’t let the printout to be older than 30 days.
For example: if you print it on May 1 (after the money has sat in the account for at least 28 days).
You can comfortably use that print out between May 1 and May 29th.

If your interview is however on May 31st or June, you may wish to print a fresh statement for use. Kindly note however that as at the time you clicked ‘submit’ on the application portal, that money must have been there for that 28 days minimum.

As to how they track, that’s a good question.

They either call the bank, or write the bank an email. They have a mechanism of doing it.

If you still have any questions, or you are a bit confused, don’t be shy to ask here. We are all here to help.

Wont I be questioned about what I do to have the money in my account or all they want to see is fulfilling the total money needed in my account.

Don’t worry Yusuf.
We are talking about PBS Tier-4 visa here.
You will not be questioned. Let the money be transferred once. Wait for At LEAST 28 days. You are good to go.

Some person(s) have somehow mixed up the rules.

Well as Justwise once advised, it’s not right but yes it can work. However let it not be sent at once to avoid looking like lodgement. I don’t know how the visa interview is or what they check but I think the money available should correlate with your salary or business income. Anyhow let him send the money to your account small small so by the time you’re ready for visa it will look realistic . [/quote

Thank you for this. if I am right, the money may be transferred from the person's account into my account and everything will be fine?

Yes. Your brother can transfer all the money at once. It doesn’t have to be ‘small small’

Make sure it’s complete. Make sure it doesn’t go below the threshold any day, for the28 days.

My dear,I don't want to take chances. I just want to include every necessary document I have in order for me to have an edge.In terms remaining 50%,I clearly know that I must have it with my maintenance in my account for 28days according to the requirement by the Embassy.

That over-do May end up being your Achilles heel.

Give them what they asked for.

. Thank you so much for your nice response. Firstly, I intend to submit my application at Leeds Beckett university in England, they accept C6 in SSCE for English language requirement, but I decided to include my IELTS exam result which is 5.5 total mark. I also want to include my university transcript even though I didn't pass all my courses, though I drop out.Secondly, the tuition fee for Adult nursing in undergraduate is 12k pounds per year, but the person have to pay 50% deposit before CAS number will be release to the person. I strongly believe that by the grace of God I will make it in terms of Admission and Visa too.It will end in Praise.pls bros I will like you to also work with me through out the process. thanks

Why do you want to send what has not been asked of you?

12,000 pounds for year one.

50% to get CAS. How about the remaining 50%?

. Thanks for your response. Am submitting my documents soon.I have 5.5 in my IELTS exam result I took last year, meanwhile I have B2 in my NECO result which I took in the year 2001.Pls my dear people, will I face any challenge in terms of obtaining Tier 4 UK student visa base on the fact that I left school for a very long time?.pls if you have any good advise to give me that will help achieve this,I will really appreciate.

It’s a great thing that you discovered your talent.

You are really a brilliant fellow. You took the NECO exams at 14, and got a B2 in English language

That IELTS was it a requirement for Undergraduate admission? Are you sure what you wrote up there is an IELTS result? Because typical IELTS results have more than one component. In any case, I hope you know that a 5.5 is basically a fail? You had a B2 (very Good) in SSCE but only managed a 5.5 in IELTS? If I am an admission officer, I will take your results with a pinch of salt.

My suggestion to you is not to bother so much about a Tier-4 visa at this moment. Rather, apply for your dream Nursing course. Get unconditional admission offer. Only then should you bother about visas.
Once you have admission from a licensed tier-4 sponsor, and you meet the financial requirements as well as pass credibility tests, Visa is easy.

PS: I hope you have researched the cost of Undergraduate nursing in the UK?

One thing I dislike about nairaland is that people will tell you to ask Google or start reading from the beginning. Someone like me is aware of this tradition and won't be asking questions here if I haven't explored Google or read from the scratch. Are there institutions that allow installmental payment and for how many times. Thanks

Eyaah.... sorry.
What were your questions?
1. You want to study Hospitality ( you have 10 years experience as a chef). That’s fantastic. Just search for your proposed course, and search the schools. Then apply. If they require more, they will tell you.

2. Cheapest/affordable city?
What if the ‘cheapest cities’ don’t have the course of your choice?

This is what you should do:
First:
Search for ALL the schools that offer the course you want.

Second:
Create a table with the following columns:
Name of school
City
School fees
Requirements
Comments/notes

Third:
Either apply on the school websites, or send specific enquiries to the admission team of the schools. They will reply you.

That is NOT in contention.
What is in contention, and I’m happy you will be very cautious next time, is racism.

If anyone, anyone at all describes AFRICANS as not brilliant, that will be seen as racist.

You cannot, repeat, can not describe EUROPEANS as not brilliant. You do not have what it takes to make that sweeping statement.

Stop plying to the gallery as though someone was dragging meaning of intelligent vs brilliant with you.

This is my last post on this subject matter. Point has been made. And you know you could have written it better. And I’m sure next time, you will self-censor before putting out racist sentences.

Dear jesudaughter.
One thing I can assure you is this.
Beyond all the noise, Tobexin has learnt a thing or two about making sweeping statements.
I can also assure you that going forward, Tobexin will not classify an entire continent (on a public forum) because of his ‘experience’ with a microscopic few.
Lessons have been learnt, I assure you.

My question to you now is; do you need to meet everyone from a particular continent before you can arrive at a conclusion about them?

I wish I knew your level of education/qualification. It will help me answer your question.
I don’t want to waste time talking about sample size and statistical significance to someone who may not understand.

But I want you to imagine meeting a 32 year old Lithuanian who arrived a little town in Oyo state in January, 2020. This same Lithuanian (after 4 months) postulates that all Nigerians nay, AFRICANS are dumb savages. Based on his experience.
Will you agree with his conclusion?

Exactly, some people need to digest and process they read. The guy clearly said he want to share HIS OWN EXPERIENCE,how is this so difficult for some people to understand.

What is there to digest is that the ‘own experience’ insults an entire continent, albeit unjustifiably and with no empirical evidence.

God help is all?

My thoughts exactly, some people are just waiting for an opportunity to attack somebody.. it’s terrible!!!

Much more terrible is ‘somebody’ lumping up an entire CONTINENT and describing them as ‘Not brilliant’

Then lumping up another massive continent (Asia) and describing them as ‘Brilliant & Intelligent’

Do unto others as you would like it to be unto you.

If someone posts online that NIGERIANS are dumb-asses because such a one encountered 5 (out of 200,000,000 Nigerians) and that person is called out for making that silly statement, will you consider it an attack?

You can talk about your own experience.

Any ‘experience’ that makes a sweeping statement is false and nonsense.
If in a white forum, a French boy who has gone to study Philosophy in Yenegoa writes that from his experience, AFRICANS.... read again, AFRICANS are not brilliant. Will you, @Aprokodaughter clap for him and say he is only talking from his experience?

For someone who hasn’t spent up to 6 months in a European Country (UK) to generally claim that EUROPEANS are not brilliant, that is not a personal experience. That is unacceptable.

Just feel like sharing my experience in Studying so far with you all!

Yea my school officially resumed on 13th January and lectures were fixed to commence the following week. In my first day in lecture I was totally confused because the pattern of teaching I was used too From Nigeria wasn’t the pattern used here I believe you all know the pattern na! Where your lecturer will dictate notes for you and explain every bit for you if you have a good lecturer but amazingly here in Uk it is absolutely different! Lecturers doesn’t give notes! I was actually expecting the lecturer to give notes. The lecturers only come to class to give you an overview of what he or she uploaded in his or her lecture slides which could be found on your student portal. You are expected to read widely on your own, you are assigned a personal tutor for guidance and so forth. Things were really challenging for me owing to the fact I wasn’t used to this kind of digital teaching. Secondly Understanding the British accent is another challenging thing for me but gradually I started getting use to their way of speaking. So far so good these are the things I have noticed in Uk

1. Europeans are not brilliant but intelligent

2. Their way of teaching is absolutely different from Nigerian pattern of teaching

3. The Europeans make learning fun! We have like three-floor building in my school library. The first floor you are allowed to shout or do anything you wanna do while reading whilst the second floor is a quite zone! So you have the choice to choose where u wanna read: noisy zone or quite zone. In our library we also have beds to sleep lol! If you are tired you can jump on the bed and sleep! We also have pubs!

4. Respect is not seen in terms of sir or mar but in terms of politeness. I call my lecturers by their names

5. Professors are scarce! You will hardly meet a professor in Uk while doing your MSc unlike Nigeria

6. Asians are brilliant and intelligent

7. You don’t need to buy books while studying in Uk

8. You will get the marks you deserve! No bad belle lecturers.

1. That is false, absolute false. Maybe the brilliant ones regarded tryout school as 3rd rate, hence you haven’t met them.

5. Your school is probably a 3rd or 4th rated school, that’s why you haven’t seen/met a lot of Professors. Someone attending Federal University, Dutsinma in Katsina is likely going to encounter fewer professors compared with someone attending University of Ife ( I learnt they have changed the name of Great Ife - I don’t know what the new name is).

The first part of your PhD research is researching prospective supervisors and prospective schools.
As a potential PhD student, you should be the one telling us about your PhD research.

For starters, type in PhD (Sustainable urban development) into google.

Hello guys if I want to go for visa interview, can I tell them that I have a place to stay because I have a brother who is in a city not too far from moorgate the city where the school I applied to is (university of law business school), so how best should I go about that? Please I need advice.

Yes!
You can say that. You however need to be fluent and precise.
For example:
Interviewer: Where will you be staying in the UK?
Preciousmathias: I have looked online on SpareRoom, Zoopla and Gumtree websites. I have considered the school Accomodation options too. However, I chose not to make any financial commitments to rent because I believe a physical viewing of any prospective Accomodation is vital. I have a brother who lives in Moorgate, central London. I intend to stay in his place for a few days, do the physical viewings of the properties I have shortlisted, pay for one of my choice and move in.

PS:
You must have answered YES in the application Form to the question if you knew someone in the UK.

justwise and others, I am 29years old and married with no formal education. I am planning on writing GCE exam later this year as well as other exams required for me to gain an undergraduate admission into a UK uni. What are my chances of getting a study visa?

A Nigerian with no formal education couldn’t have written that.

Write the GCE.
Obtain the relevant grades in the relevant subjects.

Apply for UK schools.

You will DEFINITELY get the admission.

Then apply for a study (Tier-4) visa. You will DEFINITELY get the visa (if you fulfil all the requirements).

Then buy flight tickets for yourself.

Then kiss and hug your wife at the airport.
Then fly to the UK, and commence your studies.

Then be communicating with your wife on whatsAPP or BBM or Facebook.

If you have money, then your wife can apply for a VISITING visa to go and see you in the UK. Then she returns back. Then you too can be going home to visit her, then you return to the UK.

You may be able to work (up to 20 hours per week, depending on your school).

Any more questions?
Just ask.
Thank you.
