Hi all, I and my brother are planning to apply for tier 4 visas. Question is can I and my brother both use the same funds kept in our mothers account? The funds is sufficient for either of us but not both of us. Thanks.

YES!
You can use it for the visa application as you stated.

I’m sure this answers your question.

If your question is/was whether the ECO will grant you the visa, the answer would be: NO.

Jobs
Jobs
JOB!!

When you think about job, think about Career.
There have been people who enrolled for 2 year masters at all manner of ‘campuses’ in London because there are JOBS in London.
These folks got plenty plenty jobs in hospitality, security, care, support etc.
The ‘bad news’ is that these jobs do not offer T2 visas.
These folks went back to Naija and have been bashing the UK system non-stop.

When you think JOBS, think CAREER progression too.

If you guys are saying those asking questions shouldn’t ask questions then what is the essence of this thread? If you are referring them to read hundred of pages just because they desire to elicit some methodological truths or Information then it is awkward. Some questions are truth in itself

In the ambit of syllogism Logic let me posit this Premises or argument

This is a thread for garnering information about Uk tier 4 visa!

All questions concerning Uk tier4 visa have been asked once or about a time in this thread and Answers have been given to them!

If answers have been given to all questions concerning UK tier visa

Therefore

So if I go in January I will not be eligible for a post study visa since it would commence September 2021 and I will graduate January of 2021.

If your main aim is post study visa, then wait till September 2020.

Seriously the attitude of some people asking questions here is really unbecoming.

Especially questions that have been answered severally, and answers are crystal clear on websites.

The feeling of entitlement.... someone wanting to go for masters, and who has answered a zillion questions, even posting website links to uk.gov websites relating to post study visa etc... test same person wants someone else to tell them how much application costs.

The sense of entitlement...

Disgusting!

Please help, will I qualify for the post study work visa? Read posts of justwise, hosey et al, but I am very confused. Attached is a screenshot of my start and end date (which was hammered on that course end date is different from visa end date).
Please where do I stand for the PSW issue.

It appears the post study work visa is more vital for you, than the degree you wish to get (on the scale of preference).
I would heed @hosey’s advice and defer till September 2020.
By then;
Elections would have happened.
Boris would have been elected (hopefully).
BreXit withdrawal agreement would have been reached.
The PROPOSED 2 year PSW visa would have been agreed (or solidified).

Above all, I would have used Jan 2020 - August 2020 to get experience and skills in Nigeria, before travelling.

See dont waste your time and argue again.

I wont argue again too.

But I am very happy that everyone now have the opportunity
to decide what they want with informed decision. I dont want to here 'had I known'

That was the basis of this. ENLIGHTENMENT.

I need to stop people giving false hope not letting them know how many people come back to Nigeria with regret and mostly
unemployed.

@all. If Frapzkid had more stay period in the UK when he graduated, he would have Tier 2 visa and have many opportunities to settle
in the UK. Now, he is still planning back to come and study in the UK to obtain the PSW opportunity.

Not everyone and parent is opportuned to have this. That is why I advocate for you to make informed decision.

With your 2 year PSW, I see no reason why you wont get Tier 2 visa.

Follow me, Frapzkid and akinbo3 advise. Dont take advise from those who are already settled in the UK.

They dont know how it feels and how Nigeria is bad.

Remember your parents, families and freinds. Remember the poor in Nigeria.

If you are well settled and okay, you will have the capacity to empower people back home.

Dont make same mistake. Check other international forums too. Many people deferred to benefit from PSW

I wish you all the best.

Kindly look at the bolded statement.
I will not allow people to be misled by you.

Dear prospective applicant:
Even if you have a 5 year post-study visa, getting a qualifying tier-2 visa is not automatic.
Again, I will suggest.
Choose your course wisely.
Choose your university wisely.

There are Shit courses and there are Shit Universities too.
Be strategic in your thinking.
If your main aim is to use student visa to port from Buhari’s Naija. And you don’t want to return to this forum in some years time to curse the UK for pushing you out of their country after study, then please.
Choose your course wisely.
Choose your university wisely.
If you are a professional at home, have the relevant certifications.
Look up the potential UK job roles in your field.
See the requirements and certifications needed. See if you can get those certifications. Before you go to the UK for studies.

Do NOT be deceived by anyone who tells you that Tier-2 after 2 year PSW visa is a sure banker. Na lie.
You can get a Tier-2 after a 9-month MSc. You can fail to get a tier-2 after a 2 year MSc (with placement) + a 2 year post study visa. The crux of the matter is:
Your course.
&
Your relevant experience.

I wonder why some are in a hurry . If you check the first post I made, i was highly angry i came back home without any experience. It made finding a job harder.
Now the home office in UK have brought a new measure but at a condition , only for those who graduate by July 2021 and afterwards .

I planned to do my 2 years masters this October but when I heard the news, i shifted mine till next year. The UK is not running away for crying out loud. With this new scheme you will be able to spend a whopping 4 years in the UK ( if you doing a 2 years masters with placement ) or 3 years .

It would be a win win for you, the university and the British Government whether you eventually settle in the UK or not.

What Boris Johnson Government is trying to say is
"Immigrants can never be a burden to the economy as long as they are skilled and contribute to the economy growth"

I am sure , in fact I can boast that is the strength of countries like Nigeria and India. 70% of these countries youths are either skilled or would do anything to become relevant to the economy but their governments do not know how to tap into their young ones potentials.

So if your course is 12 months and you beginning by Janurary . I am not saying you will not get the post study Visa. But you are taking a HUGE risk

Even if is more than 12 months , is kind of a little bit of risk

Why not wait till September. In fact you would have lot of time to plan your Visa processing.
No need to pay priority Visa (fast track) as you will have enough time

According to the Gov.Uk you can start applying for September intake visa by June ending (3 months before your course start)

That is just less than 8 months time .

Take the remaining Time
To work and earn more money and experience
Learn new skills like programming, marketing etc.
Get certifications of your field e g ACCA, CCNA, Java etc.
Calmly look for funds in case your maintenance fees is not enough for Visa processing .
Enjoy the premier league season that end by may (lol)
Or just take a vacation

Before you know it June would be around the corner

So no need to rush and take a risk .
Remember I did not say you will not get a post study Visa if you go January but try to be on the safe side.

Lemme use an illustration

If a rich man announces to the entire community
" I am going to start giving anyone that come to my house by 7pm today a plate of rice "

Now some may decide to go his house before 7pm maybe 6pm or 4pm . They may get their plate of rice but it would be at a risk cos the rice may not the ready then by the cook.

The British government have promised post study Visa for those who start from 2020/2021. They could start giving those who start before but all I am saying is that is not certain.

Hi house been going thru this thread since page 290 . I must say I like how committed @hosey is in advising people to grab the 2 years post study Visa.
I studied in the UK (Middlesex) graduated 2018 but was sent packing immediately I felt so angry . I swore I would never consider UK as an option for masters or even settling.
Fast forward to September 2019, when Boris Johnson announced the post study Visa. On hearing the news, I first felt angry at why that strict lady called Theresa May was the prime minister at my time because I knew she did not really speak for all of the British when she said student immigrants should go home immediately after study. I know this for a fact because I did internship in a company where one of the staff told me they would love to employ international graduate trainees prior to how they did in the past to retain trainees that are successful and show hard work in the training program then would sponsor the successful trainees for tier 2 Visa.
But sadly that facility was taken from them because they can not possibly sponsor the total amount of international graduate trainees they want (companies pay an individual fee to the government for each international student they give CoS and they usually have a limit they can give out), so they look for the British or EU graduates to fill those positions whom they feel are not as hardworking, committed and determined as other international graduates.

So from someone that studied in the UK and was able to communicate with some in the professional setting, I can assure you that with the two year post study visa given, There would be lot of options open for international graduates who are smart . I would share them

Option 1
TIER 2 VISA
After studies, students would have 2 years plus the 4 months on their previous study Visa to find a job. This time is enough time to find a job that can offer them a Tier 2 Visa. During my time, I got like 4 offers from different companies in just 3 months , 3 could not sponsor my Tier 2, but one could but the time was so limited to process it (8 days before my Visa expires) . Imagine the amount of time international graduates would not have at their disposal .
Do not believe some who say getting a tier 2 job is not assured after study. As long as you play your cards right you will surely get one . In fact it is more easier to see a skilled graduate job in the UK than US . This is because most US jobs demand for experience and previous projects, but unlike the US in order to increase your chances of getting a Tier 2 job in the UK in the time period of your post study Visa., try to
1. Try to get a first class or Distinction in your degree, this would put you ahead of graduates below your classification and you will be 80% likely to get a tier 2 job before your 2 years post study runs out. Unlike Nigeria , it is quite easier and more straight forward to get a first class in Bsc or Distinction in masters

2. Do a course that is needed more in the UK. Check for courses that are needed when applying . Courses that are Computer or IT related are now at the top of the list (at least 75% likely to get a job). Other courses like Nursing, Engineering and Science.Kindly avoid courses that are not either important to the UK economy, makes you your own boss or are in high supply like Interior Design, Arts and Dance.

3. If possible try to do a PhD. Though this may not be necessary but doing a PhD in a course that is needed would surely put on the top of favoured ones by employers in the UK. But like I said before , this would not be necessary if you follow 1 and 2.

OPTION 2
WORK EXPERIENCE
As a international graduate, you will surely get work experience in your 2 years post study period which would be valued by employers in Nigeria if you eventually go back home. This experience would put you above others based in Nigeria. With a masters degree and at least 2 year British work experience, you will be able to apply EASILY for a managerial job.

OPTION 3
MARRIAGE
Marriage is another way to settle down in the UK, but sadly most international graduates who wishes to use this route have not found it easy to find a person in just 3 months as you do not expect them to make this their priority during study whether fake or real marriage.
But with 2 year post study Visa, international graduates who wishes to use this route can be able to search without haste for someone to marry (someone of their own taste) and can even start processing their marriage Visa before their post study Visa runs out .

OPTION 4
OPPORTUNITY TO MIGRATE TO OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES

When I was in the UK, the person I stayed with was on tier 2 Visa, but his wife was finding it hard to get a visa to meet him (because of some complex issues) . So he applied for an Express entry to Canada for him and his family. I must say, it was much easier for him to get the Canadian Visa than his contemporaries in Nigeria because his points were off the roof .
This is due to the facts that he
1. Had a UK masters in an IT field
2 . Had just 2 years work experience in UK.

In addition, the Canadian Express entry has a cap in each country, applicants from Nigeria would find it harder because many would be applying unlike applicants from developed countries like UK . Since the Canada Express entry was introduced to increase immigration of skilled labour, imagine how much value would be added to an application from a skilled worker based in a developed country like UK.

In conclusion this newly announced 2 years post study will make UK a preferred choice of study .
Personally I still feel Canada is better than the UK for student path to settlement, but I think UK and US are now on the same playing field and since is easier to get a UK study Visa than in the US, I would advise many to choose the UK over US by 2020.

Showing the date and time of this tweet is important.

Implication of this tweet:
New visa rule changes hinges upon BREXIT. For now.

I previously wrote here that the changes are PROPOSALS (which I would personally be glad if the proposals metamorphose into policies).

For now, my personal advisory for prospective tier-4 students is:
Choose the UK because you want to get world class, cutting edge education, not because you want to use it as a ‘back door’ for immigration.
In choosing the UK, choose the fantastic schools with amazing records. Don’t choose the shitty universities (yes! There are Shitty universities in the UK too). Don’t choose anyhow courses, choose great courses.

Learn skills. If (and when) you finally go to the UK, don’t limit yourself to the ‘usual’ care jobs, security jobs, hospitality jobs. Learn skills. Spend money to register with professional bodies (assuming you were a professional in Nigeria).

Learn programming. Learn software development. Learn Salesforce. Learn Business analysis. Register for NVQs in your field (if applicable).
Etc...

PS:
When folks advice that the proposed 2-year PSW visa should be treated as a proposal. And should not (for now) be taken hook, line & sinker, someone claims it’s because they are envious. Na wa ohhh

Good afternoon, please am really new in this forum. But, i have gotten some questions to ask my honorable experts:sir, is pre - cas interview compulsory? Do people fail it? What is the extent of failure someone could have in pre-cas interview that could make u not to get the pre-cas number. I will be glad to have a clear answer to this questions so as for me to prepare

1. Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in the UK can have their ‘licence’ revoked if they are seen/perceived to be granting ‘black market’ admissions.
2. Some institutions do not want to ‘take any risk’ by giving admission to ‘Non-academic students’
3. The institutions in (2) above have safeguards in place. One of the safeguards is to have the so-called pre-CAS interviews.
4. Because they wouldn’t want to ‘waste’ their CAS, they will make sure they interview you, to gauge your likelihood of getting a tier-4 Student visa.
5. The pre-CAS interview will therefore be a ‘box-ticking exercise. This, they will do by asking you questions around:
-Genuineness as a student
-Financial standing

I don’t think you should be scared. Just be sure you are a genuine student, you know your thing and you can prove that you got the ££££

Done!
