Ogunkomayaf:
Hello All,

I am a prospective PhD student in the UK. I will be leaving October, 2020 by God's grace but, the issue I have presently is that I will be obviously pregnant before the interview date. I have never done such interview before. Do they allow pregnant PhD students for interview?

I will be very glad if I can get a reply please. This is so urgent.

Hello Ogunkomayaf:
I twale for you x2
On a very lighter note.
December 2019 - October 2020 is 11 months.

In October 2020 you will be obviously pregnant?
Shebi no be 9 months pregnancy dey last?

If by your planned travel date the pregnancy is not such that the airlines would consider it too much of a risk for air-travel, you will be good to go.
Just make sure your planned travel date is not very close to your EDD.
Pregnancy is not a ground for UK tier-4 visa refusal.
Best wishes

i think UKVI is lazy in processing application this xmas period so those who paid for priority are getting the "not staightfoward application " to cover up for them to turning it around quickly. Annoying because these priority paid a premium for it and are not getting any faster service

‘Moral’ of the story :
Always prepare your applications well ahead of time. Plan well. As much as it’s within your power, plan way way ahead of time.

Hello house compliment of the season, please I will like to know if there is any school in the UK that will admit a 30yrs old for undergraduate studies. I graduated since 2008 but couldn't go to higher institution because of sponsorship. Been working since then and I now own my own registered limited company and making decent money. My SOA is close to 7m and I can still be making money from my business even if I am in school. I am married with a kid, been rejected by a couple of schools abroad because of the age and school gap.

Just so you factor it in.
An undergrad cannot go to the UK with dependants.

Wow. Mine is about 500k plus hanging in there for IHS fee of three and half years. Even the mail I sent them after paying £5 plus, I haven't got a response.
It's really sad. I called their phone lines as their website indicated, I should call if I don't get a reply after two days of mailing. This is about the 10th week after the denial. How long more am I expected to wait for something that should be an auto- reversal.

Unfortunately, there is no auto-reversal with these folks.
I know someone who sent countless emails, but had to wait for over 13 weeks before IHS was refunded.

I just know, you have to find another Tier 2 job quickly or risk returning to your home country if you can't switch or you do not already qualify for ILR on the Tier2 route or any other route.

I suggest you post your question to:

Not necessarily. They seem to be overlooking so many things nowadays. I made a mistake with my son's application, I wrote his last passport number instead of the current one. I cancelled the application immediately and did another, paid and they got the visas. like 3 weeks after, I got application fees payment refunded, oya pay IHS, no show. 6th week, I had to pay £5+ again to send them a mail. They responded and apologized and said I should get it in 15 working days.. I responded and told them the fund was needed urgently. 298k+ hanging for almost two months...
Same way I paid for priority and still waited for 15 days more. The things we are made to go through in the Country ehn...

Nope. They are not overlooking nada.
You got a refund because you cancelled the application BEFORE biometrics.

Thanks, I am currently in a research position but even that is just for the duration of my DES. Now people have suggested to keep trying for a Tier 2, but we know how that can be, and after what happened to a friend of mine that lost her job on a Tier 2 visa, I don't want the uncertainty associated with it. I haven't really looked too much into the requirements for start up visa, but I heard its only for 2 years. I need 4. I am also currently learning about the exceptional talent visa and that may eventually be what I go for, but I heard (and i may be wrong here) that it works better for those already on Tier 1, 2 or 5? Thats why I want to also investigate this PSW route.

May I ask please;
What’s your PhD in, please.

Very correct. If you don't submit TB test where you require one, its automatic visa refusal.

WRONG!
I know a woman who forgot to take (and submit) her TB test result.
After submission, she was crying at home and preparing for a rejection.
Days later, she received an email and a phone call from UKVI. She was asked to scan and send the TB certificate.
Days later, her visa was granted.
She is a tier-4 dependant though.

Like someone said, I would suggest you pay the few quid and immediately send an email to UKVI. Don’t give up, yet.

Good day gurus, pls my school has refused to issue me a CAS after I have made deposit and submitted bank statements. They said the class is full and I am on a waiting list pending if someone cancels their admission. I am considering requesting for a refund of the deposit so that I can make payment into another school that has already given me admission. My friends think I should wait till the time frame for the waiting list is exhausted which is 2 weeks from now. But by then it may be too short to pursue CAS and Visa for the other school which also resumes in January. What do you guys think?

September 2020 is not as far away as you think.
But if you MUST go to school this January.

I am guessing you still have all the funds and everything.
Look for money somewhere and pay deposit into your option B school account.
Convince your ‘option B’ school (which have already given you admission’ to issue you a CAS before Friday this week.
You are good to go.

Greetings all, has anyone been refused uk student Visa recently after using super priority and receiving an interview phonecall? and what could be the reason?

Yes. People have been refused after paying for superpriotity.
Reasons:
1. Failed integrity test.
2. Did not adhere to the application guidelines.
3. Included some not-very-truthful items on the application.
Etc...

Have I answered your question?

Good morning great minds,

I just got an admission into Salford University for MSc program starting in March 2020. Please I have some questions to ask

1. Having submitted all required documents and instructed to pay the tuition deposit, how soon will I get CAS

2. I have once been denied visit visa about 2 years ago, do I need to state it when applying for the tier4 visa

3. Is it advisable to apply for student visa along with my wife and daughter or I should apply alone. (which one gives a better chance)

4. At the completion of the MSc program, what chance do I have, if I want my family to reside with me in UK

1. Depends on how busy the admission team guys are.

2. Yes. State all previous refusals.

3. Chances are equal. Just be sure you have a little more than ‘enough’ maintenance funds for all 3 of you.

4. Chances depend on your skills. Your course of study. Your ability. Your skills. Your skills. Your experience. Your skills. Your ability to beat hundreds (nay thousands) of other applicants for the same position. It is difficult, but not impossible.

All the best.

Has anyone gotten a decision mail within 14 days for standard service?

It all depends on how busy UKVI is.
I know someone who previously picked up their visa 6 days after submission. Standard Application.

Wait a minute mate.
Your wife’s job with the NHS is it via an agency that ‘supplies’ staff to work at various NHS trusts or the job is a Tier-2 sponsored NHS Job?
If it’s the former, I will shake (nod) my head. If it’s the latter, I would ask you why the freaking h*ll do you want to go for a Tier-4 Student when you could go for a Tier-2 Dependant?

Your answer to this will help me in giving my 1 kobo advise.

1. You can live in Stornoway and go for lectures in Portsmouth... absolutely no rule stops that.

2. Yes! You are allowed to get involved provided you don’t work more than 20 hours, and provided it’s not self-employment. You need to check thoroughly.

3. Switching from tier-4 to tier-2 is a function of your skill set, your qualification, your experience, your skill set, your skill set, your skill set your skill set...
When can you do that? When your course is completed.

4. This what requirements are mentioned in her CoS?

frontside007:
Hi Justwise, Lagosismyhome, LaaJiblik: and all the gurus in the house.. Please, I need your input on this.

I will be going to the UK (Nottingham) this January for an Msc program, my wife just got some offers for jobs from some NHS and she picked Leicester, they are processing her cos and should be coming to the UK by ending of Jan.

1. Will it be convenient or is it allowed for me to be going to Nottingham from Leicester for classes? I heard you cannot be more than some miles from your school, don't know how true it is. I am thinking of just renting in Leicester so that she can just stay there when she comes over.

2. While studying, I'm I allowed getting involved with all those IT Security Trainee program advertised on jobs site?

3. Is it difficult to switch from Tier 4 to Tier 2 dependent? when can I do that?

4. She will be coming with our infant baby. Since she has an A rated sponsor, does she have to show maintenance money for our baby? though we have the money to show, I read that it has to be in the personal account for three months to the date of application, no much time for that.

Hello everyone, i have been following this thread for a while now but it seems everyone here are aspiring for postgraduate courses in UK, please i need guide on how to apply for undergraduate course(medicine specifically), in the uk. Thanks

The first thing you need to do is to use www.google.com to search for ‘Medicine undergraduate UK Universities’.
Scroll through the pages and navigate to the admission portals. You will get good information on how to apply (step-by-step) on the UCAS system.

When you are done with that, you are in better position to return to this thread and ask specific questions. Lots of folks would be happy to help you with that.

Best wishes.

Also, can you give me the list of schools that offers the course and discount. Because I would love to apply soonest against January.

Thanks.

There are several funding opportunities available.
PTDF scholarship
Commonwealth scholarship
Chevening Scholarship
Etc..

If you need a list of such schools, you will have to generate it yourself and share with Nairalanders as it doesn’t yet exist.

I am guessing you mean January 2021?

Hello guys. So when I arrive in the UK, I plan to stay with my family for a week before sorting out my accommodation. Do you think it's necessary for them to write a formal accommodation letter that they will be accommodating me when I arrive? Or it can affect my application negatively?

Not necessary.
Just know the full address of where your family lives, and be able to answer few basic questions about their circumstances m

Thanks for the info. How does someone make the account holder he/she legal guardian?

Benwems:
Is it possible I use someone else bank statement when applying for visa as my guardian? When documents are required to start this person is my guardian? Who they ask for a picture of his passport. Also, when applying for ATAS certificate, I didn't state his my guardian. What's the possibility of getting visa approval this way? Kindly quote me to reply to my question. Thanks.

Hello Benwems:
One quick question please.
Are you the person seeking admission or you are researching on the prospective applicant’s behalf?

I have a suggestion for you.
Kindly check your posts. Re-check and doublet-check before posting.
Check for syntax, grammar, sentence structure and spellings. Please.

Make sure your card has been enabled for online transactions. In those days, my IHS payment failed severally. My Access bank card had to be activated for online purchases. I had to activate an i-PIN.

What course?
