A friend told me super priority visa will not be available this year. Is it true or false? I am going to Edinburgh as a dependent with a toddler(1yr 6 months). My wife is the one studying and I am a phàrmacist. Any advice pls like what can I do once I get there apart from writing pharmacy licensing exam

True

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/visa-decision-waiting-times-applications-outside-the-uk

With you as a dependant, no latest resumption datelines to meet up with if superpriority were available, would you really have dashed ~500,000 naira (or ~1000,000 naira for you and your toddler) to HM Government for a super-priority visa processing?

As to what you can do, question would be; what soft skills do you have? (apart from a Pharmacy degree).
Actually, as a dependant, you can work anywhere (except as a Doctor or Dentist).
You can seek employment with a Govt agaency.
You can work as Health Care Assistant in an NHS trust.
You can work as a Teaching Assistant (mostly via agency).
You can work in the ‘usual place’ - social care
You can work as a store (retail) assistant with Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda or any of such supermarkets.
You can work in an Amazon Warehouse.
You can work as a Security man (but you will need to register and get the qualifications).

Etc...

Gurus, mimilyrics and my bosses in the house please I need your interpretation on the attached x tray result.
For me to be at a saver side against Monday that IOM asked me to come again, (Hopefully, the results will be OK this time around) I went for chest x tray at Afriglobal to know my chest status. Thank God my first TB test at Afriglobal is negative. With Afriglobal comments on the x tray, can I ask IOM to redo x tray or I should go there with my results (The results from Afrigolbal that you currently have is useless). Kindly help me out with advice nd more light on the comments..
Am trying to avoid 8weeks of waiting again. (If IOM year result is still indeterminate, you will have to wait the 8 weeks. (No radiology results from a Nigerian Lab will do the magic)
Thank you

Based solely on this report, you are good to Go.
However, IOM is the real deal.

The name of parents and child wasn’t in full as same on parents bank details and applicant’s documents too.

Save the ‘child’ the plenty troubles.
The parents (sponsor) should just send the required funds into the ‘Child’s’ personal account.
Let the money sit there for 28+ days.
Then the ‘child’ submits an application.

There will then be no need for Birth certificate shenanigans.

The link you posted is a good link, but it will not address OP’s concerns as you provided the link for a non-tier4 dependant visa.

Please what forms do dependents fill when applying with the main applicant. I mean I can only see General Tier 4 students and others. Can anyone provide link please

Create a separate application for the dependants, under your own .gov.uk account (the old portal)
Or
On the new portal, simply fill the form for yourself, and click on ‘Add’ in the appropriate place to add your deoendants.

As you can’t provide a solution, why didn’t you just save your advice, I never asked for it, and I didn’t quote you.

I provided solution.
The solution was: Read the email from the school.
Send messages to the school to seek clarification.
Then use any advise from Nairaland as ‘jara’
If you are too thick to recognise that that is sound advise, then sorry. I can’t help you.

Hello house good day
I have some pressing issues, I just got a letter confirming I have been offered unconditional offer in the university of derby. buh I didn’t see where they indicated the 2000 scholarship for international students, should I message them?
2) after the letter what next should I do? Should I go ahead to pay the deposit? It’s my first time, I don’t want to make a mistake and end bitting my fingers. @justwise and other great stakeholders please I expect ur solution before it becomes late.
Attached is the unconditional letter I was offered
Should I wait for another letter or I should start processing everything I need.

‘Running to’ Nairaland should ALWAYS be your 2nd choice.
Your 1st choice is your school.

It is for a reason that your admission email specifically provided Email addresses and phone Numbers for you to direct enquiries.

Use Nairaland as an ‘addendum’, not as the main thing.

@justwise and other gurus

Please should I be worried about not having an Int'l E-Passport? My current old passport expires OCT next year. A friend in the uk is saying I should renew to the new E-passport before applying for visa.

If your passport (that expires in October 2021) was legally and genuinely obtained and issued by the Nigeria Immigration Service, then you have nothing to worry about.

Is there such a thing as “Int’l E-Passport” that is different from what you already have?
Naaah!

.please I need advise

Actually, it’s the SCHOOL that requires transcripts, not the UKVI. In other words, transcripts are necessary for admission, not for visa processing.

No sir.
CAS is NOT ‘ordinary paper’.
For every CAS an HEI issues, they must account to Her Majesty’s Government how it was used- Remember the parable of the talents in the Bible?

If an HEI issues CAS and the candidate is refused a visa, it negatively affects the Tier-4 sponsorship status of the HEI.

Financial Instruments. Liquidate. Cash. Etc...
All these ones to describe the amount of money (in Naira or pounds) that you need to show for Maintenance and Fees?

Liquidation of the financial instruments was due to CoViD?

I think all your school wants to know is that you meet the requirements. HEI protect their tier-4 sponsorship status. They don’t want to ‘waste’ their CAS that’s why they want to dor the I’s and cross the T’s.

Hi guys and other applicants of Liverpool Hope University,I need advice. I got this mail from the university today:-

Please email a full response to the points set out below to internationaladmission@hope.ac.uk, quoting your University Reference number:

1. Confirm you have read and understood the UKVI requirements contained in the links above, and are eligible to apply for a Tier 4 (General) student visa. If you have any questions please contact us.

2. Provide evidence of how you intend to fund your studies and confirm that your evidence meets the UKVI requirements. For further information on UKVI requirements please refer to our website: https://www.hope.ac.uk/international/immigrationandvisas/yourcasnumber/

3. Check whether you need to be tested for Tuberculosis before applying for your visa and send a copy of your TB certificate. See the Home Office website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-t-tuberculosis-screening

4. Are you applying to bring dependants with you at the same time that you are submitting your visa application? If so please state how many.

5. Confirm which country and visa application centre (VAC) your application will be submitted to.

6. If you have booked, or are intending to book campus accommodation please state

My challenge is that I recently liquidated my funds for my school and travel plans on the 30th of June, there were delays cos of the Corona virus issue and as such I will need the money to be in the account for 28 days to meet the visa rules. I am intend writing to the school stating that I just liquidated my funds, the delay due to the Corona virus and also plead for the CAS to be ready on the 29th so that I can apply for visa first week of August considering the fact that school resumes on the 28th of September. I am wondering if it is the right step. Also the subject of the mail they sent to me is ACTION REQUIRED.
Also the school offering a 50% scholarship for international students which is ending on the 10th of July
which I submitted last week for submission and I am hopeful I will get it.I am wondering why the rush from them as i though CAS takes about 3 weeks for processing.

By “Liquidate” you mean you no longer have the money?

CAS takes about 3-weeks? Wrong information.

Oh i am not undermining any job, as long as it pays the bills..In the UK there is dignity in labour and every experience counts.

I just tried to get jobs I am good at and could enhance my skills, for e.g I worked as a sales advisor for Superdrug(a health and beauty store), Student ambassador, worked in call centres too(like now with NHS).

Again as long as it pays the bills....its legit, within approved working hours..Please go for it

Correct!!!!
The dignity of labour in the UK is amazing.
Each and every job is highly respected. Amazing.

Now your reply has opened the eyes of some of us who probably only previously thought that care, warehouse and security jobs are the only ones available.

E be like say that student ambassador thing go make sense ohh...
And the NHS call centre. Please is that through an agency or the NHS advertises for it?

I hope you all are not working more than 20 hrs during term time.

Hope you guys know that dissertation period is term time.

A PhD is entitled go up to 8 weeks holiday per year starting from when he or she begin. So he or she can only work full time for eight weeks within a 12 month calendar year.

In some schools, PhD is considered ‘in term’ all year round.
So, even when you are on your ‘annual leave’, you can’t work more than 29 hours per week.

Hi guys. I’ve been hearing it’s somewhat difficult to become a permanent resident in UK after study. And that even with the new 2 years PGWP introduced, students will be forced to leave the UK to their home country after the 2 years expires as it’s hard to see a company that’ll sponsor you to extend your work permit. I really just want to know how true this is. Your replies will be immensely appreciated. Thank you.

It’s difficult, but not impossible.
The question is:
What do you know, have and experience that places you above all other people ‘competing’ for that position or job you are eyeing?
What sets you apart?

Remember, in addition to yourself, there are hundreds, nay Thousands that are having the same ‘dream’ like you.

You should identify where you can add value to the UK, and not where the UK can be a source of ‘NAPEP’ to you.

You mean, someone from abroad wired ££ or €€ or $$ into your dorm account.
You walked inside a bank branch.
Filled form(s), and got given wads of ££/€€/$$.
Then you walked to Aboki under the tree (like in Abuja Wuse Zone 4) and exchanged that for Naira, at Black market rates. Really?

Dear all,
Before someone will come and accuse me of derailing this thread.
If it appears as though I am ‘over-flogging’ this issue, I’m sorry.
It’s just that with the experiences of Cyberknight, PtBlank and iloveutd it means prospective students can as well immediately open Dorm accounts one Nigeria, tell their siblings too to open dorm accounts, even before travelling to the UK.
In this case, Ace, Azimo, Ohentpay, SmallWorld, Westernunion, Moneygram, and all those transfer services will not ‘smell’ our money.

Justwise, you suggested ACE to someone yesterday, with the experience of others on this thread, you probably need to tell your kith/kin to open a Dorm account and you can be wiring the money to them, while they withdraw £££ and change at black market rates.

...to think that during my stay in the UK, I was using Azimo to send money to my mother at hair rates when all I needed to do was to send to her dorm account , which she has held since 2010.

We saw this at the time.
The first half of what it says is not in effect.
Nigerians are still able to withdraw in cash foreign currencies transferred from abroad.
So if the part of this policy concerning cash withdrawals of wired funds was ever implemented, it must have been reversed because it is not in effect NOW. I know this for a fact because I have made recent withdrawals from my dom accounts this month, one last week and one around the beginning of the month.

The second half of the policy (the part banning withdrawal in cash of monies deposited in cash) may or may not be in effect, but I have no knowledge of that since I have not attempted to wire funds abroad from a cash deposit into a domiciliary account.

Earlier this year, the CBN got involved in some muddled policy-making when they apparently came up with this policy. I've no idea whether it was ever implemented anywhere (I strongly doubt that), but I also made a withdrawal in March just before lockdown with no trouble at all.

1. If you can get an employer in your course field that will employ you, you’re good. Do not just study any course so you don’t get burnt out in a short time. Jobs in healthcare, social work, IT.
Asides from jobs in the listed areas, if you know your onions, understand the UK job market, strategize and start preparing for your job hunt way before you finish your course, you can get a job “fast”. Jobs don’t always come on a platter of gold for international students but it isn’t impossible for you to get one.
2. To study nursing, you need to have an understanding of science and maths and/or experience depending on the level of study. There are pre-registration nursing MSc courses you can do to get into nursing though. Those in nursing will be able to give more details on this when they come online.
3. It is only visa-free for Americans for up to 6 months to visit, not to live. You’d need to apply for a T4 dependant visa for your child to enable him/her live with you in the UK during your studies.
4. No, he can’t officially sponsor you but he can deposit/transfer the money for your UK studies into your account.
5. Based on my own preference and experience, Wales, Hertfordshire, Glasgow, Kent, Birmingham. Based on general opinion, the list is inexhaustive.
6. Affordable is relative. Many cities outside London are affordable but then it depends on what areas of the cities and the kinds of accommodation that you want.

I was delighted when mimilyrics returned from her Nairaland ‘sabbatical’.
This is the reason.
She dots the I’s and crosses the T’s.
It’s either she ‘jumps & pass’ or she provides answers.
If she decides to provide answer, she researches Merriam Webster, Encyclopaedia Brittanica, Oxford advanced learners dictionary. She adds that up with Google Scholar (not to be confused with the usual google). She seeks for solutions from only peer-reviewed papers in internationally-renowned journals.

Then she provides comprehensive answer.
All this, for £0.0000

Girl, you rock!

Well done
