36STATES: I think its time we all march down to that brothel called coza church to rescue those sex slaves and brainwashed folks and knock that place down for good. This love-vendor pastor biodun should not go free to continue his abuse and scamming of hard up folks in the name of fake miracles. Pentecoastal churches should be restricted along with other muslim extreemist groups,...they're up to no good.

omenka: Spot on!!! We make these whities feel too special and unique. Then the next day, they throw bananas at us and we start wailing all over the place screaming racism!!
this kind of reaction is so sad and disappointing. In our desperation not to be looked down upon we become racists ourselves. I lived for 3 years in a non English speaking European country and I had to learn the language and the culture. Each time I spoke the language to any of the locals they got excited that a foreigner had learnt their language so well. Is it because they felt I was from a superior tribe? obviously not. any normal human being will react happily if he sees someone from a totally different background speaking his language or living his culture. I am not a Piers Morgan fan but I do feel happy that he tweeted in yoruba. i assure you that if he speaks chinese or masai or english with a Texan accent all the people from those areas will find it amusing.

its so silly for people to turn this into another tribal war. smh

i have been exercising my little grey cells and trying to visualize the scene and somethings dont add up.

1. how come the woman was able to enter his house at 4.30am without his waking up. does he leave his doors open or is he leaving in a shalanga where anyone can walk in at anytime of the day?

2. how come the oil was so hot? it means the woman walked in, put on the stove, took oil from the cupboard, took the frying pan from the cupboard, fried the oil, walked to the bed and poured oil on the man's head. And he slept through it all huh.

my dear Watson, something smells very fishy... and its not fish she was frying smiley

Is this not the same league that gave us the bulk of our AFCON winning team.?
I agree that the league has made progress but i think that saying that it gave us the bulk of the AFCON team is a bit of an exaggeration

Uyi Iredia: In addition to what ladenz said, it's true that adultery, even the marital institution is eroding. I can from personal experience say that inc€st has been considered seriousl by some. I once had my sister tell me a friend felt it normal for her to be naked in front of her brother, or even dress up in his presence huh In CU, there was a time some of my mates were talking about s€x and it veered off into inc€st: some did admit they toyed with inc£stuous feeling whilst young, some even had s€x with their cousins.
yeah Uyi. that is what i am talking about. one day some people will say it is only normal. nawa o
SportsRe: Darren Young WWE Wrestler Is Gay by ladenz(m): 5:05pm On Aug 20, 2013
initially i didnt want to comment but i cant hold back anymore. Like majority of the people in this thread i dont support homosexuality. but at the same time i do not despise homosexuals. i lived in Europe for 3 years and i learnt to distinguish the individual with homosexual tendencies from his/her actions. This does not remove from the fact that it is very very unnatural and very wrong. the guys defending homosexuality in this thread are very intelligent and those hurling insults at them are only making them look like heroes. i met homosexuals who had those tendencies but realized that it was unnatural and sought for help. some have been able to overcome it. it is scary that we start accepting these things just because many people have the tendencies. In Europe today, marriage is becoming non existent because people started accepting that its normal for spouses to be unfaithful to each other. it slowly became the in thing and now most dont see any reason to get married in the first place. the result is many children who are not privileged to grow up with a father and mother and dont have that sense of belonging to a real normal family.

so many other societal problems could be accepted as normal because many people are inclined to such acts; drug addiction, alcoholism, extreme violence. people still fight against such because the danger of accepting it is more obvious. it is the more subtle ones like homosexualism that people are tempted to just look the other way. i attended a seminar in Europe where a young teacher tried to show parents how many of his teenage pupils were beginning to see sexual relationships with their brothers and sisters as something normal because of a popularly TV show in which this was presented as a normal thing. the parents didnt believe it until they started hearing with shock what their kids were saying. in the next 50 years some people will be pushing for us to accept marriage amongst brothers and sisters as a natural thing because they simply feel those attractions to each other and are not attracted to other people outside their family

lastly for those who keep on saying that those who have sinned should stop condemning, i want to say that if everyone was to keep quiet because he is a sinner then the world is in trouble. we all have to help each other. i have my weaknesses and i have learnt a lot from those who have openly professed themselves to be gay. at the same time i believe that they also have weaknesses and i can help them. i wont keep quiet because i am a sinner.

PoliticsRe: Senator Ahmed Yerima Replies His Critics by ladenz(m): 4:38pm On Aug 20, 2013
ayox2003: Religion! Oh how thou hast darkened the minds of black africans - even than those who gave you to them!

Most of those senators who voted were muslims!

Because the Koran says u can marry as much as four wives, Yerima had to divorce his fourth wife so that he'd be able to marry that Egyptian girl!

Anyways, to me, the african problem gets 'religionized' by the minute. When you think we're done with one, the caveman attitude sprouts like a new forsythia branch. But those who bury their whole existence and brains in the soil of religion will get the tree of backwardness that grows on it and all taste from the sour fruit the tree gives. For instance, Yerima and child marriage.

Frawzey
i dont understand why so many people on NL blame religion for the ills of society. have you stopped to ask yourself what our society will be without religion? its because of peoples' religious convictions that they avoid doing many wrong things. man tends to do evil by nature but many 'backward' africans hold back sometimes because they believe that these things bring divine punishment. granted, they are not acting for the right reason but at least they are not doing the wrong they would otherwise have done. if a guy who is broke prefers to go to church and pray for a job rather than commit crime is that wrong? if a girl with no means decides not to prostitute herself because she believes its a sin, is that wrong? if a civil servant decides not to steal public funds because he believes its ungodly, does that make religion bad? it is religion that teaches people self discipline, kindness to your neighbours, taking care of the downtrodden etc. etc.
Now in the few cases where individuals wrongly use religious beliefs to perpetrate evil, people go shouting RELIGION RELIGION. i dont think you are being objective about it.

Believe me, if you remove religion from Nigerian society, we will disintegrate so fast we wont know what hit us
CelebritiesRe: An Interview With Andrew Harvey , Goldie's Husband by ladenz(m): 3:33pm On Aug 20, 2013
i am surprised most people are just knowing about Andrew Harvey now. He was in the press immediately after she died. if i remember well he was at the burial. its just one of those things that goes with marrying a celebrity. You share them with the rest of the world and if you are not the kind of person that likes publicity you wont reveal your relationship to the public.
nevertheless i must say that goldie was unfair to her husband with the way she carried on with Prezzo and he (Andrew) is telling a lie if he says he did not mind. it will have been different if BBA was a scripted movie and she was playing a role. many contestants have gone to BBA and not gotten involved with anyone. i am beginning to believe that was the real reason for her 'strange' behaviour. all those tears and everything. she knew that she had a man at home who will be suffering seeing her flirting with one big headed ugly kenyan
PoliticsRe: Abubakar Shekau, May Have Die Of Gunshot Wounds – JTF by ladenz(m): 3:07pm On Aug 20, 2013
confusion247: JTF is not only confused but weak. I can't believe it that Nigerian soldiers are also begging terrorists and murderers to drop their weapons and come for dialogue.
It is very shameful.
Dialogue is one of the most effective ways of battling terrorism and it is encouraged in all the countries where terrorism is practiced. I am not saying that it is the best solution here (read an article i wrote months ago http://dailypost.com.ng/2013/04/14/kunle-ladeinde-amnesty-for-boko-haram/) but i dont agree with you that a call for dialogue is a sign of weakness.

good news. Jonathan might not be the best president in the world but he is proving to be consistent. the challenges will be there but if they are tackled in a methodical manner they will be overcome.

if this money had not been given to these workers it will have been "chopped" by half a dozen pot bellied politicians.
