Interesting what public opinion can do to someone's character. i never watched the interview but from what I heard, i assumed that he was a semi illiterate half wit who got into positions of power by pulling strings. Now i can see that i was very wrong. i am impressed with this interview. |

Interesting conversation. I dont think we should condemn those guys criticizing the Bible as Atheists. Although I have to admit that their forced rationalism tends to be too much sometimes. It is obvious that they already have their opinions are just defending them with 'reasonable sounding arguments'. If only they were a bit more objective then we will be able to have a pleasant discussion. I also have to say that the time for blindly defending the Holy books is gone. Those of us who are religious have to find the reasons behind our faith. It is true that Gods ways are far beyond ours and so we just have to accept things he reveals to us. But at the same time a little bit of historical study will show the shallowness of some of these atheistic positions. For one, the literal interpretation of the Bible has always and will continue too lead to confusion. How many people know the purported year Genesis was written? What were the languages spoken then? What were the cultural beliefs and background of the principal actors. Who included the book of Genesis in Holy Scripture as we know it today. Are the translations we read today faithful to the original scripts written by the authors. These and many more questions have to be answered if we want to understand the message the Bible is trying to pass to us. To understand what the Bible means when it says that God created the world in 7 days and rested, we have to understand the significance of the number 7 to the Jewish man of that time. We have to understand the importance of the Sabath to the person who was writing the book of Genesis. I could go on and on but I think I have said enough. Back to work while I continue to monitor this exciting conversation |
Hi JLF. A friend of mine just got a similar message from Bcourier. How did your own case end? |

I know many young kids, and I mean very young, who are now using any means possible to watch Big Brother Africa because of all the pornography now being showed. How can we stop our kids from starving after sexual pleasures if they are subjected to so much adult stuff on DSTV. |

@ donmayor Please let me know your opinion of David Copperfield. Charles dickens is one of my favorite authors and I think this particular novel is one of his best. It seems he is not read much in Nigeria so I am curious to know what you think. |
How many Nigerians really have money to save when they are young? My impression is that most people accumulate debts to finish their education with the hope that they can repay them when they get jobs. |
@Afam. I dont think its fear for you to say that Pope Benedict has broken bridges built by John Paul II. I know for certain that Benedict has tried to continue the moves to get closer to other religions from the moment he got elected. the statement he made was simply a quote and he was not even speaking about Muslims in the context that everyone is interpreting it. He was speaking about something completely different. |

Does it really matter who settled their first? Is there any country where everybody who lives there came out from the soil. Nigeria is a mixture of over 100 tribes. It still boils down to having the courage to overlook history and ideaology and seek realistic solutions. |
