Why not try a Phd admission? That would give you funding and better status with visa application.

Please another country like where ooo cos my issue is related , had 2.2 n graduted 2005 thou my work experience is in line with wat i studied. Good mng ma great Pple, I graduated with a 2.2 in 2005( industrial chemistry) .I av 5 years work experience in a research institute. I am 34years now married with 3 kids. Rounding up with my masters on the same field by July. I want to use the school route to migrate to canny ,all the PGD program I saw in college are for 1 year which. I want to go for 2yrs program,which will enable me work 3yrs after school n apply for PR in the process. mwhile I am trying the express entry but my CR's is low, pls I need ur advice

1. Can I go for the PGD ? Can I get admitted for second master's in chemistry related program ( which uni they give admission for 2.2)

2. What are my chances cos I had 2.2 n I may not get admitted(3.0/5) with what I av read on the thread.
3. Pls suggest colleges with cheap tuition
4. . looking towards health ,safety and environmental compliance or chemistry related program (PGD) .

Hello, I studied Chemistry too and I am going for nursing. You can check fast track/second degree/graduate entry nursing degree(2years) courses that will enable you become a registered nurse and also an easy route to getting PR. Cheers

The major thing PhD will give you based on current INZ provisions when it comes to PR is higher points-points for qualification and points for studying in the country.

Check INZ website -SMC,LTSSL,ISSL,CSSL to see what occupations fit into your present experience and qualification,then make some projections(this is not cast in stone,it might change anytime)

Though sciences generally stand a better chance of getting PR,the most important thing is still to get a job offer..think of spending 3yrs on PhD and be able/not being able to get an offer..though if you are good in your skill,you stand a chance

PhD in New Zealand is a minimum of 24months and maximum of 4yrs.Immigration rules might change before you finish and there is the chance that the new rules might be or not be in your favour.

A major component of securing PhD in NZ is getting the consent of a would be supervsior.If you are able to do that,most likely you will get admitted. Check the varuous university department requirements to see if you stand a chancee with your grades.

A good proposal will give you an edge

No. You can't count your teaching work experience. Only work experience as a Chemist, relevant work experience, counts.

Remember, there are 2 states open to Chemists. WA and VIC. WA requires at least 3yrs relevant work experience. VIC requires about 2 at least, but are VERY PICKY.[/quote]
