R.I.P. VivianC. The Op's descriptn of her symptoms, seems as if cholera did her in. cholera is a terrible disease I tell ya... Had cholera 2yrs ago and I almost died but for d quick interventn of a doc frnd of mine who gave me drips and bombarded me with antibiotics intravenously at home bcs there was neither an empty bed nor a doc at d sch sickbay. Even at dat, I was so dehydrated dat I cldn't hear my own voice each time I tried to speak bcs my throat had dried up- making me inaudible. Took me a month to fully recover. Till today I don't knw what caused it. The only thing I suspect is the bunch of bananas that I bought to eat in d morning of dat day; by evening my symptoms started. Never knew Vivian personally but I've read her posts, and she always came off as intelligent, witty and smart. My prayers are with d family of d deceased. May God give them d fortitude to bear d loss. Adieu. |

Personally, I would rather wave and smile politely than shake hands whether with girls or guys- especially with guys. I'm kind of a germophobe... u never know where those hands have been. When I meet both genders and handshakes have to be made, I go with ladies first, bcs I'm a lady. In a corporate setting though, anyone will do. |

Hello, good people. Pls I need a job within Abuja. I am willing to work with little or no pay... a little allowance would be appreciated though. Staying faithful in a relationship is not a difficult thing if you set ur mind to it. I've bn with my bf for nearly 5yrs now (part of it long dist relationship), and I've neva cheated- for me, it's a matter of principle. There are no lasting gains in cheating; whatever benefits there are, are usually short-term leaving regrets and disappointments in it's wake. 2 Likes |

Haven read the original post and all the comments made so far, there is but only one conclusion; Nigerians are a misogynistic lot. Chimamanda is young, successful, talented, and female. And many of you can't come 2 terms with the fact that she has the guts to air her views: however controversial said views may be. Hence, the insults and name-calling. Look @ how every1 is screaming blue murder bcs Chimamanda Adichie decided to air her opinion on a matter. I've read excerpts from the interview, and quite frankly I don't see what the brouhaha is about. Whether we like it or not Chimamanda Adichie has made a name for herself and commands quite a bit of respect. Whether or not she shld be mentioned in thesame breath, or compared to the likes of Wole Soyinka and Chinua Achebe is premature: these men have spent lifetimes doling out classics. Chimamanda is just coming up; how be it strongly. As for the twitter guy who is supposed to be a nominee, all I can say is; Achebe I know, Chimamanda I know, who are you? Learn some manners Abubakar Ibrahim... That's no way to talk to elders. |
