Foreign Affairs › Re: Iranian News Censors Michelle Obama’s Oscar Gown by lafuria1(m): 4:06am On Feb 26, 2013
iran. whats our problem with iran, most people cant justify why they dont like iran. i could say i dont like america because they invaded iraq, valid but am yet to understand our problem with iran. well american says they are bad, we accept.
they censor the gowon not michelle's face. they did for their viewers in iran and not for nigerians so which one b our headche ontop the issue. why do some movies censor some words? they feel its inappropriate. so iran feel the gowon is inappropriate, they censored. full stop. they didnt disturb anybody na.

Crime › Did Acid Attack Girl, 20, Throw Burning Liquid On HERSELF? by lafuria1(op): 2:24pm On Feb 24, 2013
Naomi Oni suffered horrific burns to her face, arm, leg and head
She was in hospital for almost a month following the incident in December
She is understood to have searched for material on burns victim Katie Piper
Detectives are said to have seized her laptop at the end of January
Her boyfriend Ato Owede has dismissed the suspicions as 'crazy

Police are believed to have seized a computer belonging to a young woman who was badly scarred in an acid attack amid suspicions that she may have caused the injuries herself.
But her family fear that detectives are not doing enough to catch the perpetrator of the attack and are focusing on a 'crazy' line of inquiry.
Naomi Oni, 20, was left with horrific injuries following the incident which happened as she left work at the end of last year and was in hospital for nearly a month receiving treatment.

Police are understood to have taken Miss Oni's laptop and are said to have discovered that she had searched the internet for websites about acid attacks before she received her injuries.
Searches are said to include material on Katie Piper, the former model who has campaigned for facial disfigurement victims since she was scarred in an acid attack in 2008, according to the Sunday Times.
Officers are said to have asked Miss Oni's relatives whether she may have inflicted the injuries on herself but her boyfriend Ato Owede, 23, has dismissed that line of inquiry as 'crazy'.
He told the Sunday Times: 'They (the police) need to keep investigating.
'They're concentrating on the wrong things at the moment in terms of (her) researching acid attacks and stuff like that.
'They are just coming to a silly conclusion.'

Naomi suffered horrific burns to her face, leg, arm and head and was left partially blind after a person dressed in a niqab threw acid over her as she returned to her home in Dagenham following a shift a the Victoria's Secret store in the Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford.
She also lost her hair and eyelashes in the incident and has undergone several operations since.
Doctors had initially feared that she would be permanently blinded, but following intensive treatment at a specialist burns unit she recovered sight in her left eye and partial sight in her right eye.

Despite the incident occurring on December 30, it only made headlines at the beginning of this month when she spoke out in a bid to help police find her attacker.
She said at the time: ‘I’ve always been outgoing and confident – used to getting attention for the way I dress or my hair – but now I don’t want anyone looking at me.
‘I don’t want people to see me in public. I don’t want to get the Tube or the bus. If I have to go to the hospital I take a taxi.'
Miss Oni also made an emotional appearance on ITV's This Morning.
It is understood that police sought to retrieve her laptop from her home on January 28, but were unable to find it. It was handed over to officers by Miss Oni's disabled mother Marian Yalekhue.
She is believed to have told detectives that she had searched websites relating to acid attacks but has dismissed that she injured herself.
A family friend, Sheila Maclean, described it as 'innocuous' that Miss Oni may have watched a Channel 4 documentary on Miss Piper on her computer.
She said that her interest in Miss Piper was fuelled by an interest in make up.
Miss Oni's case has attracted much sympathy and top American cosmetic surgeon Cap Lesesne has offered to operate on her injuries for free.
She is said to be due to meet Miss Piper soon.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said that officers are 'continuing to look at a number of articles of evidence'.
No arrests have yet been made in the case.

Politics › Re: Wukari Crisis Caused By Football Match Argument by lafuria1(m): 12:15pm On Feb 24, 2013
this what fuels jos crisis till today. a disagreement over power, land or money between people causes a fight, one loses and the other win. the fight will end there if they are of same religion or tribe. But the moment the loser realizes that his opponent is of a different tribe or religion, he uses that to fuel the fight and everything escalate even though the initial fight was not as a result of religion or tribe. same thing is happening here. figthing over soccer isnt new, i have seen that happen in viewing centres and soccer pitches between rival streets, in this case there is loss of life, the victim family in an attempt to take revenge had to bring others into in by alerting them the guy who commited the crime was of different religion and must have been induce by it. its easy just go to village and shout muslims are killing christians ooo and boom wild wild west, everybody brings out his vest and gun. religion is so powerful that it makes one to see what is wrong as right.

the woman did no wrong, acted in self defense to abuse of emotions by the guy. no man has the right to threat u badly, bite off his tongue so that next time he wont use it to to hurt ur feelings. woman are very loving but can react wildly wen treated unfairly. we demand equal right in every respect. the judge must be a misogynist for not taking in consideration what lead to incident. women have been abuse for so long, enough is enough......we demand a fair trial.

Crime of passion. May he rest in peace.[/quote]innocent? forget that tin. one happened in my area not too far in kaduna, she heard rumour dat her husband might marry a second wife, this women fried oilin the nite and poured it on the man when he was as sleep. jealousy na evil thing.

most hausa ladies fear 2nd wife pass devil. some polygamous family work very well, i have seen it but depends on how the man handles the problem.

Gratia: If Sanusi was the target why didn't they go straight to were he was?,
I suspect foul play so that we won't point finger to Mallam as having anything to do with BH.
God is watching us All
sanusi wasnt the target, an attack even took place a day before sanusi enter maiduguri and the day (friday) he entered. bombblast and attack arent news in maid, so to make it a news, sanusi's name was added.

if u read carefully, the target was the JTF patrol, no where near sanusi convoy.

if the headline was explosion in maid, many people wont bother to read it.

Why do we waste our time responding to posts that are obviously designed to make us while away time in fruitless debate
Some words/expressions from some posts tell us the posters are interested in some strange amusement rather than information from us
u've spoken my mind. simple. u ask a question and i give an answer and u say am wrong. why ask in the first place when u've already made up ur mind. a question seeker has an open mind.

thanks.

is it nigerian mentality that only mikel and mosses are in top clubs? if it was that easy, most naija players should be in a champions league team. even papilo had to retire to postmouth.

he should take any good opportunity that comes his way, apart from scoring those winning goals, there is nothing else spectacular about the guy, . start small like westham or lille rather than stay in bench all season for either inter milan or dortmund . wish him luck. progress it is....
